Eat, drink, and be merry, O Snakes. Classes begin again tomorrow.
The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
And what's this? The silverware is tarnished and askew, almost as if thrust on the table willy-nilly. Take a seat and search for a clean spoon while the Sorting Hat ceremony commences. The House Elves have done their clean up work quickly and effectively, and the silverware and dishes are now set to right.
Eris quickly moved her napkin out of the way as a puddle of pumpkin juice slowly spread from next to her. Reaching out her hand lightly, she picked up the Goblet hoping that the girl still had some in there left to drink, but of course, magic would probably refill it.
Seeing that the girl was writing a letter, Eris remembered a question that had been put off in the back of her mind for quite a while.
"Hey, I need to mail a letter later today...do you know where the owlery is?"
Alice smiled and recognized the girl as Eris. She bit her lip, trying to remember what her father had said about the Owlery.
She remembered and said "My dad says 'The Owlery is on the top of the West Tower.'"
She hoped that was correct. It would be embarrassing to give the girl wrong directions. She looked own at her slightly damaged letter and then looked back up at Eris. "Maybe I could go with you? ...To send a letter." Alice groaned inwardly. No Alice, you're going to the Owlery to play Quidditch, she said sarcastically to herself.
"Sounds nice! Maybe I do too. My mom is Russian, but I was born and live in London." then she took her cup and had some drink.
Sounds you are very hungry, huh?" she laughed.
"Maybe you can try pork chop, but I don't take it. I never like pork. I just take the chicken and beef."
“Oh? so your Russian. COOL, i was born in London, but i spent most of my childhood in Italy”
Geraldine’s cheeks turned red when Raven noticed how hungry she was.“uhmmm, well yeah,I am really hungry,I was really nervous since this morning about going to Hogwarts that I haven't eaten anything” Geraldine replied shyly,as her cheeks turned redder.
Hmmm..porkchop eh? “haha,I'm so hungry I could probably eat anything!” Geraldine said with a slight giggle. Anything sounds delicious at Geraldine's state of hunger...but manners always go first, she cant just rummage around the table taking any food she liked....and before she started eating she thoroughly checked the silverware if they were cleaned properly, her family was very particular with hygiene.

"I mean, my mom came from Russia, but I never live there, because most of her family moved to Scotland. Sounds really good, you've ever spend your childhood abroad." Raven seemed a little bit envy with Geraldine.
"Hahaha, just enjoy your food. I'm so sleepy and tired because I got insomniac at the night before I had a looong journey with the train." She took of her glasses, rubbed her eyes and wore her glasses again.

"Thanks!" Eris grinned thankful that she wouldn't have to explore the castle in ignorance. "I'm not really sure how my parents are going to react to my first day...did yours expect you to be a Slytherin?"
"Huh?" Sarah asked, turning around, "Oh, hullo" she tried to remember what the boy had asked her, then noticed that he had clean silverware, "What?! How'd you get those?" Sarah complained, then she sighed, "Well, do you want to sit with me? You're welcome to."
“Oh, sure…thank you,” said Melchior as he looked back up to the blonde. The blonde was looking at his spoon.
“A house elf scurried by here and cleaned most of the silverware, I happened to be one of the lucky ones that it cleaned,” he said, examining his spoon. He put out his hand.
“I’m Melchior Garcia by the way.”
William saw Fee go over to the RavenClaw table. She needed to talk to her boyfriend Hugo. William hopes he can make a couple of more friends here in Slytherin.
I have no idea why we used pots and pans and why is Professor Droo so nasty.....? she pointed down the table to where the teacher was standing, confronting some of the Slytherins, who were apparently getting in trouble already. I think that right there is proof enough already. We've already lost points we don't have before classes have even started.
Sarah watched the man yelling at the students and made a face, "Gee, could he yell any louder? I don't think they can hear him in the States," she said sarcastically. "What are the, er... point of points? No pun intended, of course," she laughed.

Ooc: sorry it’s short >.<
"Welcome," Sarah said, smiling because she couldn't go very long without breaking into a grin, "Lucky, aren't you?" she said, tilting her head to look up at him. Since when had boys gotten taller that her? It used to be that they had to look up at her, and now the boys had gotten so darn tall and she felt short. Grr.
Sarah laughed, and shook the proffered hand, "I'm Sarah Oliver. First year... are you a firstie too?"

Eris looked over and saw the boy she had met on the train. "Hey Will!" she called over, wondering if he made it into Slytherin as well. "Did you make it in Slytherin too?" The boyish with asked curiously as he was at their table.

While Victoria was enjoying her pink icing cupcake, she saw someone she thought looked very familiar. Is he...isn't he? A light bulb suddently went off in Victoria's mind. It's that guy from Diagon Alley! Isn't he...isn't he in Gryffindor? Then what's he doing here at the Slytherin table? Are they allowed to do that?
Victoria went up to him, glad to see someone she knew. "Hey William!" greeted Victoria. "What are you doing here? Aren't you in Gryffindor?" Victoria hoped that she doesn't sound too stupide. Even if the are allowed to sit on other Houses' tables, she want to make sure before getting into trouble.

Shaking her hand and releasing it he said “Yes I am.” Melchior than began to think, “Being at Hogwarts was strange, nothing like the muggle world. Everyone seemed to be so educated with wizard knowledge,” he needed to catch up.
“Do you know when this feast ends?” he asked Sarah. He had only just gotten here, but time was seemingly flying by.

"Cool," Sarah nodded, "I'm a muggleborn, so I really don't know much about this place, but I did do some reading. I found about about these guys called Voldemort and Voldemortist. They were the bad guys apparently... and I think Voldemostist is still hanging around somewhere. And I read about all the houses and subjects we'll be learning... trust me, it's a lot of information." Sarah frowned, Total TMI.
Then she smiled again, "I have no idea when the feast ends, but I still haven't eaten, so I hope we still have a while!"
Eris looked over and saw the boy she had met on the train. "Hey Will!" she called over, wondering if he made it into Slytherin as well. "Did you make it in Slytherin too?" The boyish with asked curiously as he was at their table.
" Hello Eris" William smiled. " Oh, I guess I gave you the wrong impression, I am not a first year at all" William told Eris. " I am in my second year and I am a Gryffindor" William said to Eris. " This is the tradition of all the men in my family and all the women will be RavenClaws" Willaim explained to Eris. " Enjoying the meal?' William asked Eris.

" Hi Victoria" William smiled. How are you today?" William asked Victoria." All students can hang at any table during the feast to make new friends and re-aquaint with old friends" Willaim explained to Victoria. " You can even talk to the staff at the staff table if you choose or are brave enough" William laughed.
GAH!!! I feel so stupid now D: its not Droo(username), it's Hecate(teacher). sorry guys TT^TT (ie, she's a woman, just to let ya know)

I have no clue on why we get points quite yet. I guess just a competition between houses she answered. That or to just make us feel smart she added with a giggle. Her headache was almost completely gone and she was feeling so much better than earlier, well, besides the points that her house had already lost before the school year even started.
This was scandallous. Incredible. Up until this moment, all the stories told about Hogwarts had been glorious, but this filth was nothing of that sort. He wondered for a second whether he had arrived at the wrong school, somehow taken the wrong train. All the set up fitted in with the descriptions in the books, but this filth was a complete scandal. Still, he was sorted in the Slytherin and there was food, so he was staying... for now.
Sitting a little away from the centre of the people where some commotion had happened--none of his business as long as he was out of it, he poured down some water for himself and drank it as he started examining the hall. Yeah, besides the filth which was now cleaned by the elves, it was alright... so far.

"I'm good. A little dizzy from the bumpy train ride." Who wouldn't be? It's even worse than a boat ride in Venice. "Really? I didn't know that." Victoria looked around the Great Hall. She finally notices different colors of badges on each table. William's right. You can talk to anyone you want! "So what are the professors like?" asked Victoria after a long look at the Staff Table.
"Me too. I'm just glad I'm a Slytherin. I'm a Half-Blood. My mum is a muggleborn and my dad is a Pureblood."
"Oh! I'm a pureblood. Not like it's a big deal but to my father it is..." she couldn't help but roll her eyes.

She could technically eat it, but was it really worth it? Then again...what if the food would always be like that.
New mental note: ask mum for food and dishes
Audrey looked at the moldy bread. "They're kinding right? They really don't expect us to eat this?" She scowled, suddenly missing food from home. So instead she just went to some pudding. "It's actually decent..." she had to admit.

Melchior must have spoken his thoughts again without knowledge. Oops..
He watched as Sarah talked. And talked. And talked. She must really know a lot. Maybe she could help him in the future.
“Voldemortist? I think I’ve heard of him before. I hope his return isn’t soon though, I don’t know if I could handle a man as popular as him,” he chuckled.
“So if I have any questions about the wizard world, I’ll be sure to ask you?”

Sarah grinned, than looked down at her silverware. She held up a spoon for closer examination... "Do you think they do this all the time?" she asked, showing Audrey the spoon, "I mean, you'd think they'd have decent silverware here..."
Audrey couldn't help but laugh. It was a bit random. "I know...What subject are you looking forward to most?"

"Ah," Sarah nodded, pretending to be wise and sagely, "Definitely to make us feel smarted." she paused, "Not that we need it, Slytherins are already geniuses!" Sarah laughed, although, it was supposed to be Ravenclaws who were geniuses.

Sarah stifled a laugh, she couldn't believe he seemed to think she knew a lot! With her luck, she'd remember everything she read until she was asked a question, and then she would forget.
Sarah then followed his gaze and looked at the bowl. It didn't look like any sort of food she'd ever eaten before. "Er... I have no idea? Maybe it's casserole or something?"

"Looking forward to the most...?" Sarah repeated to herself softly, "A lot." she said finally. "Charms, flying, Care of Magical Creatures, Potions, and Transfiguration mostly, though. What about you?" she smiled, putting her dirty silverware down.

"Transfigurations, charms and DADA I just can't wait to have those classes though later i'm sure i'll be complaining about homework" she said laughing
Desiree laughed, "I'm sure we will, but we're first years they can't give us that much homework.. right?" That's what Desiree wanted to think but it probably wasn't true. "I just can't wait for it to start." she said smiling.. she had been in a great mood ever since she got here, it must be something about this place she thought.

Melania finally started to look at the food at the table... and the dinnerware and flatware. Suddenly, she found herself making a disgusted face, scrunching her nose upon further examination. "Umm... guys," she started to say, "Have you noticed all this?" She picked up a couple of spoons to show them, "They have grime all over them!" She grabbed a napkin to try to clean them, but with no luck. "Really?" she thought to herself, "I'm starving and this is what we get?" She picked up plate to look at it closer and see if they were clean. "Ugh, you guys. I think there might be bugs on my plate... I think I've lost my appetite for tonight." She still felt hungry, but at least she stocked up on some snacks from the train. That should hold her off until tomorrow. "I hope it's not like this all the time," she thought aloud.
Desiree nodded in agreement as Lana expressed how excited she was for potions. Then she scrunched up her face and started going on about the silverware, what was she talking about... Desiree stopped dead fork halfway to her mouth, what was THAT?? There was something green and gooey (not her pumpkin pie) on her fork. She dared to look at her plate, and gasped how had she not noticed this! she dropped the fork and it fell to the floor with a clink.
Just then a house elf hurried through and started cleaning everything. Desiree gave a sigh of relief as the elf cleaned all of their plates, but nonetheless wasn't quite as hungry as before, she simply settled with a sip of pumpkin juice.

"Thanks" she said again, smiling. She couldn't help but overhear her talking about flying, it sent shivers down her spine. Desiree couldn't fly for her life, plus there had been that one incident with the tree.. no quidditch was not for her. forgetting that Raven hadn't been talking to her she asked "Oh wow you already know some charms, which ones?" she was very curious her sister had taught her one.. a color changing charm, she had wanted a new color for her room, changing the terrible baby pink to a nice aqua color.

"What classes are you most looking forward to?" Well, according to Kimalia, that super sweet woman that was yelling over there was not only their head of house, but also their Potions professor, so she probably wasn't looking forward to that. What if she'll get mad again and chop them or set them on fire or something?!
Jake sat down, tired and hungry from the train ride. He looked around but didnt see any of his friends. "Most llikely off making trouble" he said to himself with a soft smile playing on his lips. He looked around hoping to catch someones eye, new year time to make new friends, he thought as he grabbed a cookie and eat it.
