Aurora walked into the common room, hand in hand with Kennedy and grinning like an idiot. Sebastian, who had been curled up in front of the fire, caught sight of Aurora and bounded over to her, pawing at her ankles... with his claws out. "Hey, hey, stop it. I'm sorry we left you!" she said, letting go of Kennedy's hand and bending down to pick up the fluffy white kitten. Sebastian immediately began to purr. Aurora glanced at her boyfriend squeee! and pointed at a free sofa near the fire, "Let's sit down." she said, smiling at him.

Kennedy laughed at the kitten trying to catch their attention, which he successfully did. "Didn't mean to steal her from you, little guy," Kennedy said, petting the cat behind its ear. He actually did mean it, but Sebastian didn't need to know that. Hehe.

He nodded and followed Aurora to couch. Sitting in front of the fire was comfortable, especially with Aurora next to him.

Aurora smiled as Kennedy petted Sebastian, she was glad they got along - Sebastian seemed to be a constant in her life since Christmas...

Aurora snuggled up to Kennedy as he sat down, resting her head on his chest. Sebastian jumped up and sat on Kennedy... oh, so he liked Ken more than her now? She reached over and tickled the fluffy white kitten's belly, he rolled onto his back, purring. "I think he prefers you to me..." she said, looking up at Kennedy and grinning.

Kennedy stretched his legs as Aurora snuggled up with him. His cheeks seemed to grow warmer. He wasn't used to showing affection around people, but now he didn't mind it. He looked down at Sebastian, whom had decided to sit on him. "N'aww, I think it's only because I'm a guy...you know, it's a guy thing," he said, giving her a goofy wink. But, really, he had no idea if the kitten preferred him or Aurora. If it was him, he'd prefer Aurora one-hundred times more.

"Mhmm, maybe." She watched Sebastian rolling over and purring. "Seriously, that has to be the happiest cat in the world." He was never miserable... She moved her hand from Sebastian's belly and took hold of Kennedy's hand, tracing circles on his palm and yawning.

"Yep, like he has no worry in the world," Kennedy said, wagging his finger in front of the kitten, trying to tempt him. He looked down at Aurora and grinned. "Is someone sleepy?" he asked with an amused tone. It had been a long day. What with him trying to ask about Christmas, then confessing his feelings, and having people hug them AND then...yeah.

Nice, long day.

Violet crawled out from under a table, where her pesky egg from Charms class had rolled while she was trying to polish it. The dratted thing was forever slipping away from her into the shadows whenever she took her eye off it, which was why she kept it safe in an inner pocket of her robes when she wasn't working with it (except at night, when she kept it locked in the small engraved metal box that she used to use to keep treasures and keepsakes in).

Grasping the egg firmly with her left hand, she scrambled to her feet and set it before her again on the table, while she pointed her wand at it with the other. Hmm, she had been going to polish it, but now it looked a bit dusty from all that rolling, and she knew the polishing charm they had been taught didn't clean as well. She thought she had better do a quick cleaning charm first--she had lots of practice doing those from Potions Class. "Scourgify!" she called out, and was satisfied to see all the dust mites disappear from the shiny surface of her egg. It almost seemed as if the egg shook itself faintly, like a wet dog.

Next she said, clearly and distinctly, "Ex-Co-lo!" and began to move her wand back and forth over the egg as a cloud of faint, bright light came out of her wand and seemed to sweep over the area of the egg where her wand pointed, leaving it brighter and shinier where it had been. The egg squirmed in her hand, as if it were ticklish, but she held on firmly this time and continued working until the egg was bright and gleaming all over. She held it up to the light to admire it, then carefully tucked it back in her pocket before it could escape again.

Daichi was bored. He couldn't find his friends anywhere not that he had many , MinSu his owl was off delivering a threat letter to his lovely brother and even his egg SuSu wasn't entertaining for it hadn't done anything out of of the ordinary after he went to the owlery.

Homework? that was something he didn't feel like doing at the moment.

He heaved a sigh as he walked through the common room. Searching for someone or something to do when his eyes caught the sight of Aurora and...Kennedy! He had never thanked him for saving him right?

The second year walked with a rather quick pace towards the two. He didn't even notice the way they were sitting together like a couple would. Just as he was at the side of the sofa, Daichi wanted to say something but his sentence was cut off when he accidently stepped on one of his shoe laces and with a high pitched yelp he tripped ....

On top of Aurora.

"Mhmm... little cutie." she said, watching Sebastian. Was she sleepy..? Yes... it had been an exciting day... but there was no way she wanted to go to bed yet... "No..." she lied, stifling another yawn. "Just... relaxed." She smiled sleepily, snuggling closer to Kennedy. Sebastian was having a field day... SO MUCH WARMTH AND PETTING! Aurora giggled as he rolled back up to his feet and stretched, his whiskers brushing her cheek.

WWHHHHAAAAA?!?! "Daichi!!!" Aurora shouted, pushing him off her. "Be careful!" Good thing she was in a good mood... "Are you alright?" She sat up straight, brushing her clothes down a bit.

Kennedy raised his eyebrow at Aurora. "Are you sure?" he asked. She looked pretty tired to him. He nodded his head. If she said she wasn't sleepy, then she wasn't. He was about to pet Sebastian when...

...Daichi?!

Kennedy sat up, quickly, trying to catch the kid, but missed by a few centimeters, and then BAM! He landed on Aurora. "Daichi! You alright there," he asked, right about the same time Aurora did.

He searched for Sebastian and found that he was okay.

Don't worry people, the kitty is okay.

Aurora glanced over at Kennedy and saw that he had Sebastian, she grabbed the kitten and held him close. "Oh, thank goodness he didn't land on you." She snuggled him. "He didn't get you did he, Kennedy?"

She looked back to Daichi "Do you need me to teach you to tie your shoelaces?"

The moment Daichi had landed on top of Aurora he felt hands pressing against his side and stomach in an attempt to push him off. He landed on the floor with a small thud and decided to stay there. He only needed to adjust his shirt and his potition...

"I-i'm fine, that just startled me a little... I'm so sorry!" he looked towards Aurora's direction as he said it instead of Kennedy who had spoken at almost the exact same time.

Wait...was that...an actual question or was she playing with him? "I know how to tie my shoes!" he said in defence and crossed his arms over each other to look away, a pout becMe visible on his lips "I can't help it if my laces keep.untying themselves, i swear my shoes are haunted!"

He then turned his attention towards the other male snake. He had almost forgotten what he wanted to do before he tripped and fell. The pout dissapeared and a smiled broadly at him "Uhm...K-kennedy? Ii know it's a bit late but uh...i wanted to, you know...thank you for...you know saving me and all that.." As he spoke, he could feel his cheeks burning up in embarrasment.

"Brilliant." Cass said with a smile as she watched the younger girl, with her charms egg - She still had to find that thing - walk over to her other side and sat down. Then she realized that they really didn't have much to talk about...the last time they talked, Katrina has been the one consoling her about her problems, and for that, she felt really..well, selfish, even for a Slytherin.

"So, how are things going with you?" Cass asked with a smile. Surely the girl needed help with something? After all, she herself found it difficult to adjust to Hogwarts life when she was in first year, often owling her mother to take her back home instead.

"I can only imagine." Cass replied dryly, silently thanking her lucky stars that she was an only child. But of course, if Priscilla and her dad ever get to having kids, they would be attending Hogwarts for sure. There was nothing the muggle could do about that. Not that she fancied seeing their disgusting faces around Hogwarts soon.

Then her eyes went wide and she repeated "Katherine was still in Hogwarts?! That means your hidden sister was older than you?" OH.MY.MERLIN. Wasn't that some sort of a revelation "That's terrible!"

"Yeah, you know, Christopher James?" Cass repeated with a smile, oh typical of Freya to forget, she idly played with the key pendant on the chair around her neck "The bloke who gave me this?" Then she shook her head and smiled once more "Anyway, both of you are starting to say the same things with the 'You're-perfectly-awesome-just-the-way-you-are speech. Not that it mattered, apparently, he's still going to choose his girlfriend, through and through. Oh well, she wouldn't have it any other way anyway. He seemed pretty taken into her. Then she shook her head "I'm not going to totally change" Cass said reassuringly "Don't worry" Then she grinned "I'll always be the blonde who makes things happen." Wow, it's been years since she was that, the blonde in the background that makes things happen, and frankly, she missed it a lot. "I'm just planning on you know...toning it down a little, do you get me?"

Ah, oh. What's going on?

"Nothing much, really," Katrina said, still holding her Metal Egg. "Just wrote something for the Egg Journal in my parchment."

But something bothered Katrina. And she doesn't know what it was.

"Oh, yeah." Cass said with a smile and an accompanying laugh "I haven't even started on that thing." Seriously, where did she last see that egg?

That she glanced down at Katrina and frowned, the girl seemed, worried? Worried about something. She wouldn't want to push her to talk, that would be terrible, but she wouldn't want her to keep it all to herself either.

"Hey, what's with the frown?" The older blonde asked with an encouraging smile on her face. Perfect, casual and yet prodding.

Aurora blinked a little, re-orientating herself. "It's alright, just... be more careful." Truth be told she was a little shaken... but she'd deal with it.

She grinned a little, "Well, maybe you need to charm them to stay tied, I'm sure there's a spell for that." she said, winking at him.

Then... "Saved you?" She turned to look at Kennedy. "You saved him? From what?" Ahh, maybe he had a habit of saving people in need... being the hero... and he was her hero! She chuckled to herself a little; she couldn't see Kennedy ever trying to be the hero... he was just a genuinely lovely person. She smiled at him.

Then she turned back to look at Daichi... aww, he was BLUSHING!! Yeah, that was cute... but blushing just wasn't as adorable on other people anymore...

"Well, you better get started,"The first year said.

Cass was concerned, like she always was. "I...I don't know too, but I think I miss my mom and my sister and brother... their relaxing smile. And my home."

"I should." Cass said with a nod and a small smile. Now, if she could only remember where it was, oh well, she could simply use accio anyway.

Aww, so she really was homesick. The blonde smiled at the girl and patted her shoulder gently "Don't worry, you're not alone here." She said "Besides, don't think of Hogwarts as a place away from home, think of it as a second home." It helps, it really does, there would even come a time when one would miss Hogwarts when at home. "and the people here, they aren't your classmates, they're your family. The sooner you see them as that, the sooner you can enjoy your years as a Hogwarts student." Besides, she still had..like, six more years to go. You cannot go on for six years without thinking of your common room as some sort of an extension for home.

Oh, okay. A lecture about her problem. But she did consider Hogwarts as her home too.
"Don't you miss your family? Your mom, dad, aunts, uncles, and cousins?" Katrina asked innocently. She wanted to know if she wasn't the only one who felt the same way. She knew other people missed their family too, like her Ravenclaw friend Erin.

Katrina became comfortable with Cass already since the first time they met. Maybe it would be safe to spill a bit of her heart to her.
"You know, you're beginning to be some kind of Hogwarts older sister to me," Katrina said quickly to avoid embarrassing herself.

"Yeah, I do." Cass said sadly, her thoughts drifting to her mother who was currently alone in their manor, unless you count the house elves, probably working late again. "I miss my mother very much." She added almost tearfully. Oh Merlin, she was being sappy, but it was true, she did miss her mother, and to frankly, no matter how old she would get, she would never stop missing her mother. Then she smiled bravely, holding back and said "I miss my mom, yes, and every night, I do wish she was around to tell me everything would turn out fine, but she isn't and well, four years in Hogwarts had thought me how to adapt." She admitted.

Then she smiled at Katrina's sort of confession and she unexpectedly hugged the younger Slytherin. Woah, what the? Well, it was a touching confession, one that most Slytherins don't often make.

"Thanks Kat." Cass replied with a bright smile "That really means a lot to me." Then she patted the girl on the shoulder, smiled and continued "If it makes you feel any better, I see you as a little sister now too."

Whew. At least she's NOT alone. Katrina was relieved. Heh.

"One day, I know I'll be used to staying away from them. Hogwarts is kind of like my home now." The first year said.

Then Cass suddenly hugged her. Quite tight though, but not like it was before. Maybe she got used to all the hugging last "National Hug a Slytherin" day.

Wait, wait. Didn't Cass say she didn't want a sister? Uhh... this confused the little girl.
"But didn't you not like having a sister or something?" Cass saying she found her as a little sister was so... touching. Okay, Dianna wasn't here but at least there's another who will be like her. With blonde hair and the same skin color, Cass could pass as her sister.

Katrina blushed."So, now you're my sister, really?"

"Definitely." Cass said with a grin "It does get easier through the years, you know. It's not always homesickness." Or maybe her year was just different? Everyone in her year seemed oh-so-eager to get out of home...huh, maybe it was a generation thing? Then she frowned "It would be way easier for you to adapt if the kitchens were open, unfortunately that's not the case." meh.

Then she wagged her finger and grinned mischievously at the girl "Nuh-uh." She said, grin still firmly in place "I said I didn't want a biological sister. I never said anything about honorary sisters or anything of that sort." Seriously, anyone that was in the way of her getting her mother's attention should be....eliminated.

"Yeah. I guess so." The older blonde said with a cheerful grin and a shrug "If you don't mind, that is."

For a moment, Katrina understood what Cass said. Because if you're getting used to a place, you think of it as another place you can call home. And of course, everybody wants to go back to Hogwarts, obviously because we aren't allowed to do any magic outside of it.

Oh the kitchens! "Are the kitchens open? I thought only the Hufflepuffs were allowed there since it's near their dormitory."

Oh yeah, biological sister,. The word biological made Katrina guilty a bit about her real dad.

"Eliminate your own sibling? Wouldn't that give you a ticket to Azkaban or something?"

Cass shook her head sadly, recalling how comforting the kitchens had been for her during her first two years of her stay in Hogwarts. "Well, it's usually open for all...but this year, they've taken to not allowing the students in." She explained as her thoughts flew back to the basement where a sign that says 'No studentsies' covered the pear that you would have to tickle. It was really worrying. "No one - well, I think no one -knows why."

Then she frowned when she noticed Katrina sort of...faltered at something, but she didn't really know what, and she didn't know if it would be right to prod, she might see it as nosing, usually, she would just wait till the person was ready to tell her, but then, knowing Katrina, if she didn't ask, she was never going to get the answer. So, she decided to throw all caution out of the window and asked "What's up? Why the sudden change of mood?" If she was sad the other minute, well now she just looked sort of guilty, like a kid who got caught with her hand inside the cookie jar.

Her eyes then widened in surprise when she took the words right out of her mind. What the--? What is it with people and guessing accurately what she was thinking this days? First Thea with the hexing business and now this. The blonde simply chose to take this comment lightly as she didn't mean it that way...maybe, alright, she didn't know how she meant it, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO STAY IN HER MIND. This was just incredibly freaky.

"Not that I would have to worry about it anyway." Cass replied with a light shrug and a teasing grin "Seeing as that I'm my mother's only child."

They CLOSED THE KITCHEN?! WHAT! That will totally be unfair for the firsties! Hmmp... house elves and their stupid rules.

Oh. Katrina was brought back to reality. And to ask why Cass had to ask her what her problem was.

"Ahh... family business" Katrina said, grabbing her egg from the floor. Her egg started to heat up. "Sorry, Aimee." the blonde first year said to her egg. And it stopped heating up. Psshh... Aimee and her sensitivity can be pretty annoying.

Cass took back what she said. "Why the guilty face, sister?" Katrina said teasingly, since Cass is already her alleged Hogwarts sister.
