"Thanks hun but I think its for the best." she shrugged. Freya already saw this coming after that letter her father sent her last term. "Do you know that my parents have another daughter whom I accidentally met last term here in Hogwarts?" That was when all hell break lose in the Salvatore house. Who would have thought that her parents hiding this from their own daughters even Katherine didn't know about it before she mentioned it in her letter.

"Aww..So there won't be noisy Cass anymore." she pouted. Not that Cass was noisy mind you. "Yeah those two are inseparable since they got together." she nodded her head. "And that leave the two of us."

"Sorry" she mumbled. She couldn't help it though. "Oh hun, I'm so sorry." she gave her bestie another hug. Seriously though what was that Jonathan guy thinking? Wooing her bestie all summer than flirting with another after that? Sometime guy can be such a prat. "Have you ever umm..you know asked him about it?" she asked.

"It usually is." Cass said with a knowing nod, when two people make the mutual decision to separate, then it was probably a decision that was thought over for quite some time. Then her hazel eyes widened in surprise as she pulled her knees up to her chest. "How?" The blonde asked "How could they keep a sibling a secret?!"

Then she smiled at Freya and shrugged "She won't be missed." Ok, the truth was she was going to miss the crazy Cass, but she was trying to reinvent herself, because lately, she couldn't help but feel that there was something awfully wrong with her and it needed to be changed.. Then she rolled her eyes at the mention of Fee and Hugo and slapped her hand over her thighs "Finally, someone who get's my point!" Not that she didn't enjoy her quality time with Freya - of course not, she loved Freya - but, she missed the blonde too.

"Well, I'm not." She answered confidently, but deep inside she was really said, broken even, she couldn't help but feel absolutely betrayed by all of this, but she wasn't going to tell Freya that, weakness was for, well...the weak. Then she shook her head and said "No. Not really. I mean, if he wants to talk to me, he'll have to do it on his own, I am not going to start a conversation." She wasn't going to needle him for an explanation that he owed her.

This could not get worse than the cold weather outside. It took awhile for Jonathan to get up and approach Cass, but he needed to talk to her. They needed to talk. He didn't want to look like he go break hearts on a daily basis. So yeah, this might be the most depressing conversation he'll have in his five years at Hogwarts.

He finally stood up and went over to Cass. "Can we talk?" he said in a rather low voice. He saw she was talking with a friend, "Can I borrow her for a moment?" yeah, that one was more of a rhetorical question since if she ever said no, he'd still talk to her.

Jonathan eyed the separate couch on the other corner of the common room. They could sit there and discuss this.

Cass practically jumped from her seat when she heard someone whisper something near her. She whipped around to glare at the unknown offender and found that it was none other than Jonathan.

Well, speak of the devil....

She placed her hand over her rapidly beating heart and kept her glare in place and she frowned at the person standing in front of her. "Merlin, you scared me!" She exclaimed crossly "I didn't even hear you come near!"

Then she glanced back at Freya and back at Jonathan before pushing herself off the couch and saying "Sure." Then she turned to Freya and whispered half jokingly "If I'm not back in an hour, rescue me."

Then she tucked her hands deep into the pockets of her robes and asked "So?" You have my full attention, don't waste it.

Sitting on a different couch right now, Jonathan looked at her. This was it. It won't be easy and Jonathan already imagined things flying but that was just one of his imaginations. He cleared his throat "There are two sides to every story." he looked at her, not a crack of smile seen in his face. "So we'll be hearing yours first" he said crossing his arms. Now she maybe confused to why she would explain first. "What did you exactly tell your friends?" he did talk to Heather just the other day.

Jonathan knows that they both had a lot to say, both needed a lot of explanation-- especially him. But he's not going to oppose on anything, in fact he's not even here to argue. He just wants to deal whatever it is that is happening the two of them. Clear things up even if it may be for good or for worse.

"I know that." She replied primly, before she could stop herself as she copied Jonathan's actions, and sat down crossing her arms over her chest as well. She raised a perfectly arched eyebrow at him as her hazel eyes narrowed into slits when he offered that she tell her story first. Why? Was he planning on using it against her? No, of course not, he wasn't like that...but he was in Slytherin too, like her, she couldn't be too sure.

"Well, she sort of annoyed it out of me actually..." Cass began "She found me crying in the library, and I wouldn't tell her what was wrong, but she wouldn't go away." Then she took a deep breath "I told her I wouldn't mention names, but yours just sort of slipped out...but of course, I didn't tell her Kurumi's after all, they're great friends, and I would hate for her to look at Kurumi differently.." and she was totally off topic now, so she cleared her throat and continued "I told her what I saw, you and Kurumi looking really cozy one another at the gazebo." She admitted tiredly, uncrossing her arms and settling them around her small waist, as if she was hugging herself.

Jonathan listened to her. Well, it is her time to explain isn't it? Jonathan will be having his share later. So first there was crying and then not naming of names. That's why Heather didn't know about Kurumi when Jonathan mentioned her name being part of this whole situation. She didn't tell Heather about Kurumi yet.

WAIT!

Why was she in the assumption that Heather might look at Kurumi in a different way? Unless, Cass is planning in convincing Heather to look at Kurumi in a different way. Girls. "Kurumi has nothing to do with this. So let's not talk about her." he said. Of course he would definitely defend Kurumi. This was their own problem, just between the two of them so he's leaving Kurumi out of the puzzle.

Then he cocked an eyebrow after Cass finished talking "Is that all?" he asked. "Is that everything you wanted to say?" he repeated. "I mean if there's some bottled up hatred about me inside you somewhere, it's best if you say it in front of my face rather than tell your friends about it." he added. Well, like Jonathan said, it's her time to say whatever she wants. Jonathan won't hold her back.

Because if there is one thing Jonathan hates, it's gossip. And we all know how gossip starts right?

"Kurumi has everything to do with this as much as you and I." Cass stated, her face blank. "It takes three to make a triangle. But don't worry, I won't go around doing whatever." She sighed and looked out into the common room before turning her attention back to Jonathan "As much as you find this hard to believe, Kurumi's important to me too." She said, almost harshly, she was sick and tired of people thinking that she should be mad at the Gryffindor "We might not be close, but she was there for Heather when I couldn't be, and I adore her for that, and I'm not about to do anything that would hurt her."

"Yeah, that's about it. I had this whole speech mentally planned out about betrayal and trust and broken hearts and all that, but it seems inconsequential right now." She answered with a shrug "I mean, I was mad before, I guess, but it really is impossible for me to hold a grudge and I guess with a number of people trying to cheer me up, I guess...my anger just went away." This was just getting tiring, that's all she was feeling right now. Tired. She wanted this mess to be finished. She then rolled her eyes at him, she wasn't angry, but she sure as hell wasn't very pleased as of the moment, how dare he think the worst of her! It wasn't as if she was going around the school trying to prepare him for some sort of social death. "I'm so pleased at how highly you think of me." Cass replied sarcastically as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms once more.

Jonathan took that one to note. So maybe he was wrong about her and Kurumi. He didn't know they were friends. Cass barely told him about her life as a Hogwarts student. All he knew about her is that she was friends with Heather and Fee. That's just about it. "triangle?" that word stroke Jonathan the most among all the things she had just said.

That's somehow good to hear though. Despite the fact that he hated his guts after all this time she manage to calm down. Now that's something a Slytherin would never do. So props for Cass. Jonathan felt relieved about that at least. He wanted to know how she felt about it after all this time and now that she had said it made Jonathan feel a little bit okay.

Now...
His turn.

"I know that whatever I may say right now will still make you not forgive me" he started "and that's okay because I get it. I've done you wrong." Jonathan does admit he had hurt Cass and she had the right to be mad at him. Right now he doesn't even expect for her to forgive him. It's up to her. "You're a wonderful person Cass and I'm sorry to have hurt you in the most selfish way..." his eyes still looking at her. "But we have nothing in common." he added. Okay, he knows that it's probably one of the LAMEST apology he has to say but it's true. He does mean it. "I did have a crush on you because you were pretty and still are but maybe we're not just meant for each other." he looked down. He said those words as sincerely as possible. "I don't mean to hurt you. I really am sorry" he gave her an apologetic bow.

"Yeah. A triangle. You, Me and Kurumi. But I guess that can't apply now." Cass said simply, she refused to let it apply now, as far as she was concerned, it was now just Kurumi and Jonathan...and it wasn't going to bother her the least. Like she kept on telling everyone, who was she to begrudge them of anything?

Then she simply sat there and listened, her face void of any emotions or reactions as he apologized to her and explained his side of the story, and believe it or not, she totally understood, and it was fine with her. What was done is done, she couldn't - wouldn't - do anything about it anymore. Past is past and all that.

"It's fine, really." Cass said with a small smile "I'm not going to deny that it was wrong of you to do that, and that I wasn't very happy with what you did, but everything is fine now..." Then after a few minutes of silence between the two of them, she chuckled lightly and added "We were pretty awkward together, weren't we?"

But something was still bugging her, something important, something that angered her more than anything that had ever happened between them. "Why didn't you just tell me though? I mean, I get that I wasn't around often, and I'm sorry." It wasn't her fault she was sick "But, couldn't you have told me somehow? I would have made time you know...and as much I didn't want it to happen, I would have understood, and I wouldn't have stood in your way." They could have avoided this mess in the first place and everything would have been civil between them.

She's.Not.Mad.At.Him???

Jonathan blinked. "Why?" he asked. "i'm sorry but i reall thought with the rate of what I have done to you, I'd be hearing curses right now." he looked at her. He didn't deserve this kindness. Cass was definitely one of those genuine girls. Now Jonathan feels like punching himself for making her feel that way. "Thank you, Cass" he breathe deeply. He meant that one a lot. She felt pain and yet she still managed to forgive and understand him.

Jonathan did nod at her comment being awkward. Yup. He can still remember how awkward it was. So awkward, Jonathan doesn't even know what topic to talk about. Maybe some people were right, Slytherins shouldn't date their own kind. Must be a personality thing? Dunno for sure.

then his smile faded as Cass asked him another batch of questions. He got silent with this one though. He wasn't expecting to be asked this. "I dunno" he looked at her again. "Maybe, I just felt............. scared" was that it? He did thought of that once, why he didn't just come up to her and told her directly. He actually wanted to but everytime he was ready, something was always holding him back. he doesn't know why.

"Why?" She repeated, her face scrunched up in confusion. "Why, would you rather I was furious? I could do that too." She said with a nod as she reached for her wand. But of course, she wasn't going to hex him...they might lose house points for that. Then she laughed mirthlessly and said "Oh, trust me, I was like that when I first saw you guys, you can even ask Heather, I was practically glowering at everyone in the library, if I wasn't so afraid that Madam Donovan might kick me out, I would have thrown some sort of tantrum." Yes, she was quite pathetic when things don't go her way.

"No problem. You should have really known better than think that I could ever be mad for something that made someone else happy." Then she shrugged once more, but smiled "I'm not that evil."

"Scared?" Cass repeated as she held back a smile. Seriously, she didn't find his terror funny, but seriously? "You? Scared? Of me?" Then she failed and laughed out loud "There is nothing remotely scary about me." Except when cross of course, but that was entirely different matter, everyone was scary when angry.

Then she stood up from her seat and extended a hand towards Jonathan, glad that this wrinkle in her life has been ironed out. She then smiled at him and said "Good luck with Kurumi." before heading back to her seat with Freya to fuss over her broken leg.

Chelsea walked into the Common room and took a seat on her usual spot. She looked around for Kelsey Maybe shes not here yet. Reaching into her bag she took out her transfigurations book and began to read

Katrina entered the Common Room and saw a lot of people. That included another First Year, two fourth years, and a fifth year. But one fourth year has having a long conversation with the fifth year. Katrina sat down.

Then she realized the couple talking was...

CASS AND JONATHAN! :O

Ok, she didn't want to be an eavesdropper. She took out her egg.

Aimee shivered like yesterday. Katrina took her wand and...

"Argentum Calidus," and the egg became a bit warm.

"Hello,Chelsea."Kelsey said as she sat her bag on the couch."What should you like to talk about?"She had a lot of thoughts boiling up in her head, but who knows what Chelsea will think?

"I dunno really." Freya shrugged. Its hard to understand what were they saying between the shouting. Till now its still a mystery to her, even her newly found sister, Love, didn't know why her parents kept her away. And the truth she didn't want to know maybe if she ignore it long enough it'll go away.

"Aww..she'll be miss by me though." she told Cass. "If you don't mind I'm asking why the sudden change?" She hoped that its not because recently boys drama Cass was having namely Jonathan. She laughed when she saw Cass reaction about Fee and Hugo being inseparable. Freya herself miss her other blonde bestie and it has been a very long time since the three of them having a Slytherin Queens time together.

Freya raised her eyebrows. She had a feeling that her bestie hiding her true feeling from her. It seems like she's...dared she said afraid? Then before she could even forming a word, someone coming over them and asking her to borrow her bestie. Cass already saying yes so "Yeah sure go ahead."

Cass turned after standing up from her spot on the couch and smiled while rolling her eyes when she saw Katrina enter the common room, stare at them for a moment, then pay attention to her egg for charms.

speaking of that, where was hers? Hmm, she should probably check the dorms soon.

"I can see you Katrina." The older blonde said with a sly smile as she set herself down beside Freya and waved at the blonde first year.

She then smiled at Freya, and leaned back against the couch with a sigh. Greta to finally have drama over and done with. Now, to to help her friends out!

"It's still quite odd, don't you think?" Cass asked, more to herself than Freya "I mean, why hide a daughter?" Sure, her dad left her, but he had never tried to hide her from existence...not that he could anyway. Mother would never let him.

Cass then waved an airy hand and said "You'll get used to it, don't worry." Then she crossed her legs, one over the other and set her hands down on her lap "Besides, I believe it's for the better."

Then her eyes suddenly flitted downward at Freya's questioning gaze. She wasn't expecting that question...she should have though, one could never fool a Slytherin. "Oh, I just thought it was time for a change, you know?" She answered airily, as she laughed nervously, coming out high-pitched and sort of broken. She then sighed and admitted "I just think that, maybe something's wrong with me..I mean, if its looks, I can't do anything to change that, I was sort of born this way, but if its personality, I can sure do something about it. Maybe if I was a little less crazy, everything would be fine." Yes, her mother would be so proud to see her daughter acting so refined.

"Oh its very odd and now my new found-sister didn't go to Hogwarts anymore." She had no idea or what so ever where Love gone. "And do you know what shocking me the most she is a Hufflepuff. Can you imagine that?!" That doesn't mean she didn't like that house, she had a couple friends there but her parents had a different perspective about that house. Maybe that's why her parents 'kept' her away maybe they already knew that she'll be a Hufflepuff. Then Freya realized that she already talked too much and she didn't want to fuss Cass with her problem too. Cass already had a lot on her plate already. "Sorry I rumble too much." she just got carried away.

"Hmm.." she just nodded her head but she didn't believe her bestie completely. "Nothing wrong with you hun." she told Cass. If she was a little less crazy? "Where's that coming from? Was it because You-Know-Who?" Why its sounds creepy? Well she didn't mean like that it happen to be the perfect words.

"Oh, well then, I guess that's sort of a relief." Cass replied, still trying to process the fact that Freya had a hidden sister...freaky. And she thought her life was dramatic.

"A Hufflepuff?" She exclaimed, looking disgusted for a minute before remembering that she went out with one once, and he wasn't all that bad. "Why would anyone from your family get into Hufflepuff?!" Imagine that! A Slytherin family with a Hufflepuff daughter, no wonder she was kept a secret from Freya! "Did your sister - Katherine is your sister, right? - know?" She asked, she vaguely remembered the blonde mentioning a sister, she couldn't remember the name clearly though.Then she patted the blonde's shoulder understandingly and said "No worries, I kinda like hearing your problems better than facing mine."

She smiled and laughed "You're starting to sound a lot like Christopher,darling." She said softly, thinking of the Gryffindor who had tried so hard to cheer her up the other day, her hand silently and idly playing with the necklace that he gave her last Christmas. Then she shrugged "It may have, but that isn't the only reason." She admitted "I mean, sure it only took this disaster for me to realize that something is probably wrong with me, but come to think of it, every relationship I seem to go into ends in some sort of a disaster."

"Hi Kelsey" she smiled. She really needed to spend time with her friends too, not just Ryan. "Nothing particular, just wanted to catch up with some friends" she explained. Chelsea really missed her friends including Kelsey, Violet, and Temperance (who had strangely disappeared about a week after school started)

Whoops. Katrina got caught.

"Sorry for...umm..." Katrina said guiltily. "eavesdropping...rather"

Katrina gave the 4th year a small smile and a wave back.

"No worries." Cass said with a grin "All part of being a Slytherin." the blonde added with a laugh. Then she noticed that the girl was sitting all alone. Gasp. No one should be alone! At least not while inside the common room! So she scooted over, moving closer to Freya and gestured to the spot next to her "Wanna sit here?"

Katrina blushed. Oh Salazar Slytherin.

She saw the fourth year sit beside another fourth year and invited her. Okay, that's rare. But really, some older students are very welcoming to be honest.

"Ok," Katrina said and scooted beside the older student.

Cass grew on her. From being complete strangers to this. At least she was more welcoming than the others. Cass began to be her Hogwarts older sister, replacing Dianna at the moment, since she wasn't there right now.

"Yeah. A Hufflepuff. Can you imagine how shock I am when the first time I met her and she wore a Hufflepuff uniform?" That's not a pleasant experience at all. Firstly she found out that the girl is her sister and then the second was having a Hufflepuff sister. "I have no idea." she shook her head. "Yeah Katherine is my sister." even though Freya wish she is not. "No she didn't know a thing. She was still in Hogwarts around Love, my new-found sister was born." she told Cass. She chuckled when Cass made a comment about like hearing her problems than facing her.

"Huh?Christopher?" she asked raising her eyebrows. The blonde knew she had heard that name before but she couldn't put it together. She never really good at remembering people name and their faces. Thank Merlin she remembered her besties name. "Well but it didn't mean you have to change who you are." she said. "This is you. If they can't accept it, its their lost."

Katie walked down into the common room with her egg in her robe pocket, just in case that she dropped it if she was carrying it in her hand. Carefully, of course, she took it out of her pocket before sitting down, she looked at it to make sure it was alright, nope, no marks, no cracks, it was okay, she then placed the egg on the green couch furthest away from the fire so it wouldn't get to hot, letting go slowly just in case it rolled away, perfect, no rolling away here.

Even if the egg looked fine, she could tell there was a little layer of dirt around the egg, and with that she took out her wand and said "Excolo" and the egg was nice and shiney clean again.

Then it came to her, she remembered, a name, the egg needed a name! Being the creative self she is she decided to call the egg, Eggy, simple but cute in Katie's mind, she didn't want anything complicated, and the egg needed a name, just like everything else in the world, because otherwise they would be nameless.

Placing her hand gently on Eggy she could feel it was getting hot, so she whisked out wand and said, whilst she swished the wand and tapped the egg, "Argentum Frigidus" Katie smiled, placing her hand back onto the egg, wasn't as hot anymore, perfect temperature how it should be. One last check, she was certain Eggy was fine, which made her a happy Katie.
