As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you are instantly reminded, or introduced, to the fact that Professor Cerulean always tries to transform her class to match the lesson of the day.
The room is covered in large multicolored Muggle bean bags scattered all over the floor. These bean bags have been charmed with extra cushioning charm to make them even more comfortable. Beside each bean bag is a little lap desk for you to place in your lap and use for notes during the class. The floor feels extra cushiony as well although it seems to be the normal tile floor of all of the classrooms.
The walls and ceiling are draped with different bright colors of drapes. It's a little overwhelming but enchanting at the same time.
In the corner, there is a table of refreshments (something the Professor always tries to have at her lessons.). But this time the table is full of Muggle treats. There is a bowl of ice filled with various Muggle sodas from Cokes to Cherry Cokes to Dr. Peppers to Sprite, etc. Beside that bowl is another iced bowl full of bottles of various colored and flavored drinks labeled Gatorade. There are two other bowls on the table: one is full of mini Muggle chocolate candies from Snickers to Twix to Milky Way bars to M&Ms, etc.; the other is full of more chewy flavors of Muggle candy such as Skittles, Dots, Jelly Beans, Twizzlers, etc. There are small bags at the end of the table for you to fill up with these goodies if you would like. Each of the four bowls is enchanted to automatically refill itself when it starts becoming low.
Various forms of Muggle music can be heard playing softly in the background. Anything from rock to pop to calm rap to R&B to Country can be heard in the mix.
There is a small raised platform at the front of the Muggle Studies classroom where a strange white board that looks like a chalkboard stands. It is known as a dry erase board and is a very Muggle inventions. Written on it in various colors of markers is a message from the Professor.

Board games? Sports? Role-playing games? All this talk was making Lana's head spin and it was only about muggle games. GAMES.
This class will be the death of me.
She listened to the other students opinions and was intrigued by the answers.
Okay, so Monopoly is a board game because it used a board.. and it has pieces? Monopoly. Mono.. one. Poly.. many. I'm confused. WHAT IN MERLIN'S NAME IS MONOPOLY?! It seemed like Lana was having a battle in her own head.
Sports, she knew. Like Quidditch. At least there was one thing Lana understood a bit about.
Not wanting to come off dumb, Lana decided not to answer and stay quiet listening to her classmates.

India took another sip of her soda and smiled. SHe couldn't help but LOVE today. It was just magical - even without magic involved. She was in her happy place with chocolate, junk food, candies she couldn't get at home - and fizzy sodas that just made her tongue scream in ecstacy.
"My family - we all play this game called Apples to Apples - its a muggle word association game where you get a seven red apple cards that have a word be it a place, a thing, or a person on them and on the table is this one green card." She explained and tried not to laugh as she did. "The person who puts the green card down doesn't throw a red card in - and then later picks the card they like the most. The person who put that card in wins the green card with the description word on it and it is later used to decribe their personality." She chuckled.
"Its rather fun actually - once my dad threw in the word Sensual - and well all I had for red cards were Anne Frank, The 1960s, Dr. Seus, Lawyers, Old Faithful, Sharks, and Chocolate...and I won after making my whole family crack up because I put down Sharks." It was true they all got a kick out of that.

Cora thought hard about this. To be honest, she didn't really know much about the muggle world. She always prided herself in how tolerant she was of muggles and muggleborns and the like, but she grew up in a wizard household, with little to no outside encounters.
She really didn't get out much.
Cora wanted to impress her professor, but was once again terrified. Why was she such a wimp? Honestly, she was way too shy to be allowed to socialize with society. She rose her hand tentatively and waited patiently for her hand to be acknowledged. Maybe no one would notice her. Cora thought this was a good plan. No one would notice.
Cora suddenly gasped quietly. The professor was looking directly at her! She froze, not saying anything. She then whispered an answer, feeling as if she might cry. "Umm, w-what about games like make-believe tea parties and the like? Would that be like Role-play?" She had remembered her muggle-born friend Abbie had mentioned it, and it seemed intriguing and interesting at the time. She wasn't positive if her professor had heard her answer, but Cora lowered her hand satisfied with her response.
Ira raised her hand and answered, "Sir, chess, carrom, monopoly etc come under Board games category, while athletics, cricket, football etc come under Sports category. The games in sports category require the player to be physically fit and mentally alert while for board game players, they just need to be mentally alert."

Alyssa raised her hand and answered,"Sports are usually games where people actively participate in the game. They may be played indoors or outdoors and generally, a lot of energy is used in playing the game and it usually requires a certain level of skill. An individual sport can be swimming and a team sport can be Australian Rules Football.
A board game is played by at least 2 or more players. Board games require more brain strategy than physical energy. An example of a board game is Snakes and Ladders.
A role playing game is where a group of people assume the roles of characters in a fake setting. The players are responsible for acting out these roles. A popular role playing game that muggle children like to play is Cowboys and Indians, where some of the children dress up as cowboys and the others as Native American Indians like they did back in America during the late 1800's.
All 3 types of games follow certain set of rules and guidelines for example good sportsmanship and conduct."

Jenny gave a small "ooohh" as she listened to the professor. She never thought of muggle games that way; then again, she wasn't much for playing games anyway. Maybe except that one game that she couldn't remember the name of.
Quickly Jenny raised her hand. "All three categories require positive interaction and respect of other players in order for the games to go well?" she answered meekly. Maybe she should word that sentence better.
The professor glanced at the girl that just randomly stood up and yelled...yes yelled in her class. Seriously one can of soda would not affect these students this way...they were just being ridiculous about this hyperness nonesense..."Maybelle, please have a seat. And do not interrupt my class with your yelling...that is just plain rude and uncalled for." she paused still with her blank look on her face, "If there is an issue with others bothering you yelling is not the solution...simply bring it to my attention and I will deal with it in my own way...because yelling does not solve anything." she said with a final nod.
Gemma focused quickly back in on the rest of the class and was so excited about the student's answers. She was truly overwhelmed by the responses.
"Yes yes yes!!!" she said excitedly. "You are all correct in your responses!"
She flicked her wand and the stack of games began to sort out into seperate stacks, "In the Muggle World, and in some extent in the Wizarding Community, the different games are divided into a variety of categories. This class is soooooooooooo fun!!! Janice thought while taking a cookie. She raised up her hand and answered the Professor's Question.
"In Sports there is soccer, in Boad Games there is Otello, in Role-Playing Games there's charades.."
Ok so hopscotch was a game but it wasn't going to fit into any of those categories.Desiree really was clueless when it came to muggles, she felt bad, but she was raised in the wizard world.
She listened to everyone her eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. Clue.. Monopoly.. Sorry.. Apples to Apples.. umm. she had no clue what these were. She understood a board game obviously had a board so maybe like chess would be a board game.. And then sports were like quidditch or croquet ya her grandparents played that. Role play, you know you role-played.. better yet, I'm just not going to say anything..
'Hehe. Sounds fun,' Daisy giggled sarcastically, taking yet another swig of Doctor Pepper.
'So, do muggles get this stuff often?' said Daisy, motioning towards the drink. 'Cause it's AWESOME,' she grinned happily.
Aaron shook his head, it was horrible. Plus, his grandparents smelled like mothballs. 'I have it all the time.' He nodded enthusiastically, 'don't Wizards have this, stuff like Butterbeer and stuff?'
A long yawn escaped his mouth and he laid back in his beanbag, suddenly sleep seemed like a great idea.

Jonathan knew what board games were and so as the sports game but role-playing? What on Merlin's name is that all about? Is it one of those teenage parties where the celebrant pretends to be a princess with her costume on? Is that it?
Jonathan raised his hand. He'll just have to answer what he knows "Board games are games where there can be at least two players. There is obviously a board on most board games and the two players are required to move the pieces in the board such as the muggle/ wizard's chess."
Wow, Apples to Apples and Monopoly- what were they?
Despite having a muggle mother Glenn's family sort of blended in with the magical side of their family.
Okay, keep it together. She knew Quidditch was a sport and she remembered playing a game called Soccer that she guessed was kinda similar. She had played it when she was younger. Yes, that definitely was a sport. Only problem was someone else had already said that.
Glenn wracked her brain for what a Role-Playing game might be...
"Role-Playing would be playing pretend, wouldn't it? And also writing stories might-well sort of fit in that category as well." She blushed. Her sentence had sounded a lot better coordinated in her head.

With a proud smile on her face, she continued the lesson, “What a great set of differences….and we could go on and on and on about the differences…” she paused glancing at the list again.
“But now let’s focus on something that is a major difference between the family structure of Muggles and Wizards, our games….” she flicked her wand and a huge stack of various Muggle games fell from the ceiling and landed on the stage next to her. It had to be over twelve feet tall.
“Can anyone name any Muggle games? They can be any type of game…” she asked knowing that it was an easy question for Muggles and that some Wizard children would know the answer.
[font color=”purple”]OOC: I’m going to give you a little while to name as many as you can…remember to not repeat answers and to raise your hand before you answer…No chatting because Gemma is still watching… MUAH*

Violet tried to remember first the book she had read about Muggles..
After remembering those important things she raised her hand and answered,
"Professor, all I know about the Muggle games are those only that are written in a book I've read when I've visited the Muggle world once. Some of the well-played board games are scrabble, word factory, sudoku, monopoly, and chess which is like the wizards' chess in our world but the only difference is that the wizards' chess uses magical boards and pieces. Hmm... Sports, the Muggle sports are very interesting from what I've read. There are sports like badminton, tennis, and table tennis which uses racket/s. There are those that requires agility, speed, strength, and coordination like volleyball, basketball, soccer or football, golf, and track races. Actually one of these sports is like our very own Quidditch, which is football but there 3 types of ball in Quidditch and in football has only one, which is the soccer ball. That's all..."

Tiffany grinned as she put up her hand. She stood up and answered,"First of all, let's me explain what sports games are. Sports games which need a lot of movement and energy from people while doing them such as playing badminton, basketball, those ball games. Board games. They usually have a dice, some chess and a board for playing. People need to roll the dice and follow the directions that are printed on the board in order to win the game .Such as monopoly which is my favourite game. Lastly roleplay game. I know less about this one because I seldom play it. I guess it is some kind of game that needs people to pretend to be other character in the game."She sat down and was satisfied with her answer.

Raven tried to answer the question from Professor Cerulean. she raised up her hand.
"If I'm not mistaken, Professor. The board games is a game that play on the board, at least, it can be played by two persons. For example is muggle chess. But there are some games that can played by more that two persons like scrabble.
Sports games is usually an outdoor games. Those games need many movement and usually it can played by more than 2 persons. More player, More fun. For example is... Hide and Seek?
And... Roleplay games is a game that we act as the player and pretend to be someone. For example like.. Doctors and Nurses.

"Board Games are games that generally played on a board such as snakes and ladders, Ludo, Chess, Checkers. There are also fun games like mousetrap, cops and robbers, hotel tycoon and many many more.
Sports games are games like football (soccer), tennis, volleyball, netball, basketball. Usually have balls in them, but there are others like badminton that dont have balls.
Role-playing games are games where the person takes the role of something. I play this online role-playing game called Runescape where you take the role of a person living in the medieval period I think! You have to earn money by making stuff such as armour and weapons, you can sell these and either mine more resources or buy them.
Then as you increase in level you can wear better and better stuff, then you can battle the evil creatures. The higer the level you are, the more better creatures you can fight, they sometimes drop awesom items that you can pick up, these items usually cannot be found everywhere only in certain places and these places can be treacherous to get to.
This is only SOME of what you can do in this game, you meet other online players also." Harvey realised that he hadnt played it in a while and made sure that he would play it when he got home.

Arianna was enjoying Muggle Studies very much, it made her think about the big differencecs between wizards muggles. She considered herself half wizard, half muggle as she had grown up thinking she was a muggle yet she was now considered a wizard. All sorts of thoughts were going through her mind until she suddently rose her voice and said, "Professor, There are many fantastic and interesting muggle games whether it is Snakes and Ladders or Cops and Robbers or Twister etc etc They all involve particular skills in which one either has or can develop. Yet there are games that both wizards and muggles share or i mean are similiar anyways, such as wizards play gobstones and muggles play marbles, although very different they are also very similar." Arianna can't believe she had just said that and felt bad that she hadn't put her hand up, but at the same time she felt pleased, at least she had built the courage to do so to some extent.

Gemma smiled at the class and shook her head with all of the answers encouragingly.
As she spoke, the differences appeared on the board, "Great answers. Before I continue I want to remind you that there are other types of Muggle games but these are just the three major categories." she paused and then continued, "The first category is sports. A sport is all forms of physical activity which, through casual or organized participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical fitness and provide entertainment to participants. Sport may be competitive, where a winner or winners can be identified by objective means, and may require a degree of skill, especially at higher levels"
"The next category is Role Playing Games. Role-playing games, often abbreviated as RPGs, are a type of game in which the participants assume the roles of characters acting in a fictional setting. These can be either in person or through some form of connection in the Muggle world such as through their internet or video gaming systems." she ran through the last part quickly because she wasn't sure how many people would know what everything was in her last sentence.
But she smiled as she focused on the last part, "The last category, and the most important one in this class is board games. Board games use as a central tool a board on which the players' status, resources, and progress are tracked using physical tokens. Many also involve dice and/or cards." she held out her hands toward the stack of games beside her.
"And many of your classmates have already listed a great variety of board games. These can include my favorites, Monopoly, Life, Twister, Sorry, Scrabble, etc." she paused as she pointed to each of these games in the tower of games.
She flicked her wand and stacks of board games appeared all over the class. "I would like to invite each one of you to come up to a stack of games near you and grab a board game that looks interesting to you." she said as each of the stacks shook and shimmied magically.
OOC: Just rp your charrie coming up and choosing a game. I've added a list of some possible games but feel free to add any that you like but just make sure they are BOARD GAMES. The stacks will not fall on you so please don't act like they will. They have been enchanted to give you any game that you walk up and say the name of. Alright, here we go! thought Nate. "Well..." Nate was gearing up to talk really fast, "... board games involve, well, a gameboard and pieces (or tokens, or pawns). Sports involve physical entrance into the game itself, and role-playing games, like Runescape, (which is played on a PC) involve the player to immerse themselves into the game as another person who is usually fictional, and they live out a fantasy life," Nate said on as few breaths as possible.

Gideon went back to his notes as Professor Cerulean finally moved on with the lesson, describing each of the three different types of games she had earlier just listed. His quill moved as he copied it all down, the feather stopping as the professor described what she wanted them to do for the next part of lesson. Getting up from his seat, the Gryffindor approached the tower of games as instructed. He debated the various games he saw and heard mentioned before finally deciding on one.
"Clue please..." Gideon asked before the game in question responded to his words. The fourth year returning to his seat dwelling on his choice and remembering a mention of it by his aunt at one time or another.
She flicked her wand and stacks of board games appeared all over the class. "I would like to invite each one of you to come up to a stack of games near you and grab a board game that looks interesting to you." she said as each of the stacks shook and shimmied magically.
Louisa nodded and smiled politely at the explanation of muggle games, she really couldn't believe that some people didn't know about them or never heard of those and that they needed to take a lesson about those. Not that she minded attending this class, she liked the professor and most importantly she LOVED knowing everything about a certain subject. *smirk*
The girl got out from behind her desk and headed to one of the stacks, "Monopoly." The stack shimmied a bit and then the game requested floated down to Louisa who caught it gently and went back to her chair. This game was the one Jason taught her early in her eighth birthday. Smiling feebly Louisa sat down and drifted off in her head to that precious moment of her still being the spoiled daughter of her stepdad.

Aaron looked up excitedly. BOARD GAMES?! He rushed over, unable to choose one, so instead he just closed his eyes and twirled around a few times before stopping again.
'TWISTER!' He let out a girly squeak when his hand chose the game and picked it up excitedly. 'Twister face off!'
He then saw all the others just call out the name of the game and it came flying over. 'I knew that, of course.' He shrugged and skipped back to his seat, Dr. Pepper still fresh in his system.

Everett added more to his notes, before hearing the teacher speak again. Standing up, Everett began walking towards the stack of board games. Looking at them for a few moments, he tried to make his decision. Once he decided, he spoke up.
"Uh... Hungry Hungry Hippo's please," He said, and watched as the game came towards him. With Hungry Hungry Hippo's in hand, Everett returned to his seat. He didn't have much knowledge of muggle board games, but he knew what hippo's were, and hungry, so he was going to give this one a go.

Remember to keep chatting down because Gemma is still here watching over you!!!
"Apples to Apples, PLEASE!" Nate said overenthusiastically. One of his favorites, it was hilarious! "Now I just need a group to play with..."
