In the midst of putting food on his plate Shannon hadn't noticed that his silverware weren't very clean. They had smudges all over them, and there was something caked onto the spoon that Shannon couldn't even identify. He held the spoon up closer to get a better look at it, but he couldn't make sense of what the mysterious matter could be. He wasn't even sure if it was food or not.

"Sure." Shannon said nonchalantly as he continued to inspect his spoon, he hadn't even looked over to see who was talking to him. He finally looked over, "Sorry, bit...uh...confused." He told her. He didn't want to flat out say he was a bit disgusted at how dirty the dishes were, he didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But this definitely was not healthy.

Realizing now was a prime opportune moment to make a new friend, Shannon placed the dirty spoon back down on the table and turned his focus to the girl beside him. He wasn't going to make friends talking about spoons, clean or not. "Shannon." He smiled. "Seems like you've been here before." He observed.

Louisa's extended run-from-table-to-table-to-avoid-Dallin approach was coming to an end with the Hufflepuff House Table. Of course she had only one friend here- Kita. Now, to look for someone while she was avoiding as many faces as possible was kind of...problematic. How was she supposed to just do that? She stood still for a moment thinking about the stupid situation she got herself in just because she had a BIG FAT MOUTH. Hmph!

Maybe Kita would spot her..? Please, Merlin please!

Simon was getting bored and when he got bored it meant trouble and even though he had no idea why he did it he shouted down the Hufflepuff Table"Does Anyone want to talk?" He hadn't seen Treyen or anyone of his friends and now he could be bothered to go and see Kurumi, so he would just see if anyone would talk to him.

Louisa jumped as a boy called out. Shouldn't people check if they were too close to someone before shouting like this? She looked at the boy and recognized him from the Flying Final- yes, he was recognizable because he was stuck in the air on his broom and she almost fainted imagining herself stuck up there instead of him. "Hey! Lower your voice!" She said, rather annoyed but walked up to him. "Do you know someone called Kita Lewis? She's a badger like you." Not literally but...he should get the reference easily.

Besides, he shouldn't ask why Louisa should look for the girl herself. That would only make things impossible to explain and the Ravenclaw stayed away from any kind of explanations.

Was the boy examining... a spoon? But then again, they were dirty... so maybe this is considered 'normal behaviour' for the time being?

Having received the affirmative, Kita sat down. After throwing a disgusted look at all the silverware, she turned her attention back to the boy. He was... confused? "About the silverware?" she asked. After all, that bit confused her as well. Maybe the house elves were about to go on a rampage and this is their way of showing it...?

Shannon? Oh! That was the boy's name! "Nice to meet you. I'm Kita," she said, smiling at the boy. Been here before? "Er... yes, i have. This is my seventh year here," Again with the depressing thought! "Are you... new?" The boy didn't seem like a firstie. But then again, there were students who transferred here from other schools. Maybe he was one of them...?

Kita frowned down at the silverware. This was just great(!) Her last start of term feast and she couldn't eat because something... happened. Meh! As long as this didn't happen in the end of term feast, she'll be happy.

Trying her hardest not to get depressed, she looked up and around at the many faces. Why were there so many people here all of a sudden? She didn't remember the Hufflepuff table ever being so crowded before.

And that's when her eyes landed on a girl. A girl who seemed to be looking for something. Or someone. But there was something about the girl that seemed vaguely... familiar. Something to do with the hair and the-

"Louisa!" she squealed, waving her hands. No, that was no way to greet a friend! Let alone a really good friend like Louisa. A huge grin spread across the seventeen year old's face as she got up, ran over to Louisa and threw her arms around the young girl. Much better.

Who in the name of merlin was-

Simon?! Kita blinked. 'Course, it had to be the fifth year troublemaker. No one else would scream down the table like that. But still. This was one of her friends and she wasn't going to sit here and let him stay on his own. No way. Standing up, she ran over to the young boy and threw her arms around him.

"Simon!" she squealed right before bursting into a fit of giggles. Maybe she shouldn't have had so many sugar quills on the train. Meh. Letting go, she squeezed herself in between Simon and another person. "Hi!" she said, a huge smile breaking over her face, "How was your holiday?"

"Hey I'm Violet, Violet Anne Evans." she said grinning at the girl taking the seat beside her.

Maria strode over to the Hufflepuff table and saw Kita. She plopped down next to Kita and hugged her. "Kita, I need a nice person to calm me down before I go back to those Snakes" she said.

Jordon looked down the table to see someone talking to him. "Yup, i'm Jordon. Jordon Neo" He said, putting some kind of fudge thing on his plate.

"I'm looking forward to playing Quidditch. I've been playing with my brothers at home", Alyssa told Kita.

"Oh wow! I didn't know that. I must mention that do Gramps when I see him", Alyssa told Emma.

Alyssa noticed that the girl had just sat down next to Kita looked frazzled. "Hi there, I'm Alyssa. Did you just get sorted like I did? It's nice to meet you".

...aaand someone tackled her. WHAT? It was on this soon?!! Louisa was ready to fight anyway, Ellie Johanson!! She knew it was coming! She came prepared!! Louisa pushed the person -who most likely must be Ellie- with all her force, noticing that Ellie was a bit taller than this but ignoring the stupid mind working and jumped on the girl. Her arms on the girl's forearms and they both were falling to the floor. The girl's chocolate brown eyes staring at Louisa...

...huh? Weren't Ellie's eyes blue? Wasn't her hair dark black? Wasn't she a Ravenclaw? =O

THIS WAS KITA!!

Too late, Louisa fell on top of her friend and stumbled to her feet quickly, "Gosh! I'm so sorry! I thought you were someone else." Extending a hand down to support Kita, "Are you hurt? Are you okay? I'm so so sorry." Okay, Louisa was a biiiit paranoid today.

Simon looked at the girl and smiled. Sorry about that!" He laughed and then he realised that he was still talking loud. "Sorry, I'm just bored, there nothing to do." He sighed, it was boring he just didn't get why there had to be an openning feast, expecially not when there wasn't any dancing or games or anything like that.

"Kita, I know her." He smiled. "She'll be around so..." He then saw Kita come upto the girl and decided it was his time to let them talk, he turned away from them both and looked the other way before looking at the table and wishing he had a pen so he could put his name on the table, saying that if he used a knife he could carve his name into the table.

"Wxcuse me?" William asked Violet. " I had always heard HufflePuffs were nice, but I must be compltely wrong" Willaim laughed. William knows who is behind all this meaness towards him.

Excise me?" William said to he girl. Do you know me?" William asked her." Or just hears lies about me" William laughed.

" I figured you would know what to do with this situation" William told Kita." Nice to meet you, too" William said to Kita." WEll, I understand I sure made a mistake by sayong boys and girls in the sixth and seventh year are scary to talk to because a lot of them are hard to talk to here" William explained to Kita." I never said older" Willaim smiled.

" How is your back?" Willaim asked Louise. " I am so glad I met you" William said to Louise. " Did you like the train ride" Willaim asked Louise.

Ok, she had nothing against hugs but... WHO WAS HUGGING HER SO SUDDENLY AND RANDOMLY?!

Kita looked down at the young girl. The girl seemed... familiar. Did she know her...? After catching a glimpse of the young girl's face, a smile broke over the seventeen year old's face. She hugged her young friend back. But... there seemed to be something wrong with the girl. "Why? What happened?" she asked, frowning slightly. Did those snakes do something? Again?!

Quidditch? Did the girl just say she was looking forward to playing Quidditch? "Oh my days!" she squealed, "Are you going to try out for the team?" Because then that meant that Simon's and Treyen's spots could be filled up. And who knows, it might be nice to have some fresh new blood in the team.

But then again, Simon and Treyen were both so good!

WHY IN THE NAME OF MERLIN WAS SHE BEING ATTACKED?! Did Louisa hate her...? Please, Merlin, NO!

Having been pushed away, Kita looked at the young girl in shock. This was not like Louisa at all. Maybe someone spiked her juice? But... she wouldn't drink from a dirty goblet now would she? No! Unless the Ravenclaw's have somehow managed to find a spell that'll clean the silverware.

... And now she was being jumped on. WHAT WAS GOING ON?!

Still in complete and utter shock, Kita found herself falling... falling... falling... to the floor. Great(!) Not only was she being attacked by one of her bestest friends, she was on the floor. But she continued staring at Louisa. What was UP with this girl?

And then she stopped. Why was she looking at her like that? It seemed as though she was only just registering who she was. This was just great(!)

"Oomph!" Great(!) First the attack and now the girl had just fallen on her. There weren't any more surprises in store were there? Wait... was that an apology? Kita blinked. Did she have an unexpected twin walking around the castle? One who had done something to Louisa? She grabbed Louisa's hand and pulled herself up. "Merlin's sake, Louisa, i'm glad i'm not in your bad books!" she said, dusting herself down, "I'm fine, just a tad dirty." But then again, the floor was pretty dirty as well so the dirtiness was to be expected. "You okay?" Any other funny business planned?

Kita smiled reassuringly at William. "I'm just as confused as anyone else here about the situation," she said, shrugging her shoulders, "Let's hope we have clean silverware for breakfast tomorrow morning." She picked up a particularly dirty spoon and looked at it with a disgusted expression on her face before throwing it back onto the table.

Made a mistake? Whaaaaat?! William didn't make a mistake. "They are?" she asked looking around at her peers. Most of the people she knew were nice to talk to. Meh. "If they are mean, then... just walk away," Even if that's rude. "They might just be going through a particularly difficult time at home." Ok, fine, William hadn't asked for advice on the matter. Still. She had to give it.

This whole thing about the elves was a little disconcerting and it wasn't because she might have to feed and clean up after herself but Mia liked the elves. She often went into the kitchens just to talk to them and occasionally they would have a dance.

She was actually considering excusing herself from the table and head down to the kitchens to check it out but before she could even make a move, Marie was sitting down in the chair beside her. "Of course. Like you need to ask." Her friend knew that she was welcome all the time.

Although Mia did look up and down the table for a moment before resting her gaze back on her friend. "Where's your other half?"

Angelina walked over to the Hufflepuff table, as like the other tables, to say hi to her new classmates.

Louisa's face was flushed from embarrassment as she supported her friend to her friend. "Sorry. I was... kind of on my nerves and didn't see you coming. You should've said my name so I'd know it was you." Yeah, she had the nerves to blame the girl when she was the one to pin her to the ground. Way to treat a best friend, Louisa. "I'm not hurt, no. I fell on you." TEEHEE.

Louisa watched her dusting her robes off. "Sorry about this. Do you see that the floor is... too dusty? And the silverware! They're just gross!" She made a face. "I just hope the house-elves aren't making some kind of a riot. I don't want to clean anything." Louisa's biggest worry. "Maybe some students can volunteer!" Excited all of a sudden at that, and Louisa could sneak in 'her' name so 'she' could spend all day dirty and all and 'he' hopefully wouldn't get time to spend with 'his sweetheart'. MWAHAHA!

...was this smirk normal to wear in front of Kita..? O__O



"Thanks for your help." She turned her attention toward the boy. "I'm Louisa Carter." Yes, now that Kita was on her feet breathing Louisa was ready to introduce herself properly. This boy wasn't a big headed snob...he didn't seem like one, anyways. He was absolutely welcome to join in the discussion about the filthy silverware too! They were all not liking this piece of news at Hogwarts...right?

"Well, I used to live in Trowbridge, but my family recently moved to Eastbourne so my mum could teach at Brighton College. It's really nice there, but I miss Trowbridge a bit." Sadie could also sympathize with Jesifur's situation, since her own parents had been substantially distant during the past year in order to move.

Longing for Trowbridge and all of her friends she'd left behind, Sadie felt herself begin to daydream again. She pulled herself back into the present and smiled kindly at Jesifur.

"It's all very overwhelming, though, isn't it?"

Amethyst sat quitely as she looked at the empty plate. Everyone she was talking to had seemed to carry on other conversations. She tried keeping a happy face, but nothing seemed to get her mind off the feeling she had. It was similar to the one she always had at the orphanage.

Simon hadn't been expecting her to give her name, he had expected her to just talk to Kita. "I'm Simon Leonarder De Simpson, but you can just call me Simon" he smiled at her then turned to look at the table he didn't want to be a pain and talk to them if they didn't want him to, he looked at the silverware on the table and exclaimed. "The House Elves have really let there standards slip this summer." He was shocked the headmaster would let this happen.

Simon looked and saw Kita talking to him. "My Holiday was boring, I didn't even get to make Diagon Alley this year in fact I only got back into this country last night." He sighed, he was starting to feel tired maybe that was why he hadn't thought of anything good to do but saying that even tired he should be able to think of something to do. "How was your holiday Kita?"

"Hi I'm Angelina," she held out her hand to the girl. The girl seemed quiet, but Angelina thought she would just say hi anyways.

"I know that I'm new and shouldn't be taking sides especially if I don't know all the facts, but I guess I'm just being protective of Rose. Emma told me that William cheated on her last term," Alyssa whispered to Kita. "I guess I should keep an open mind and not judge a person before I really get to know them", she apologized.

"William you mentioned that you are in 2nd year this term. Which were your favorite subjects last year?", Alyssa asked him. "Oh dear, he does look uncomfortable standing here," she thought to herself. " I should try to be nicer to him," she resolved

Louisa blinked at his name. It was longer than she thought but that wasn't a bad thing of course. "Nice to mee-" She was continuing the usual friendly greeting when this Simon was... talking a bit louder than usual. Louisa chuckled at this, "Whao. I'm sure they heard if they were still in the castle.." Heheh- wait, what? Louisa's face turned serious, "Would they be banished from here? Could the article be true about headmaster being... weird lately?" She lowered her voice to a whisper. Nobody needed to know that she questioned the headmaster himself- there were spy students. She just hoped Simon wasn't one of them. =O

Only her ear pointed up when the voice was heard. A second later, she lifted up her body from the table, and turned to the girl called Angelina. Her hand..held out? Amethyst purred softly as she smiled slightly, her hand moving toward Angelina's. She grabbed it, and shook it. Her grip, slightly firm, but friendly. "Hello, My name is Amethyst; Pleasure to meet you." She bowed to her. It was a habit, nothing could break that.

Glenn smiled and shrugged, "I dunno, maybe they were in a rush," She busied herself with finding something in her pocket "Excuse me Laurie, could you hold her for a second?" She said lifting Amata, her kitten out of her pocket.

Amata half opened one sleepy eye as she did so.

"It truly is. I'm just glad it not all BRAND NEW, think of the kids who were muggleborn and how confused and overwhelmed they might be." Jesifur pointed out.
She thought of the three other first years she had met on the train out and wondered how they might be with all of this.
"Are you excited for classes?" she asked.
