"Do you also love swiming?" She happily surprised. "I can swim, but don't do it often. I love to dive. Because it was so calm in under water..." She paused and combed her hair back "As if you get in another world there..."

"I don't think I'd like that either, maybe something like a falcon or something." It would be fun.

Maxwell smirked at her. "But what if I want to worry about it?" He said clearly noting She was hiding something.

"A falcon would be cool!" Jordan agreed. "Do you reckon if you were able to turn into a phoenix then you would be technically be immortal?" Now that would be cool.

'Um... Today. Waterfall. 5ish?' Rose said, thinking for a minute. 'Wait, why?' Rose asked. 'Wait, I think our version of beating up is different to your's. Londoners think differently.' Rose said in her cockney accent. 'I got kicked, and my knees gave out, and I fell on the rocks. And slapped of course. That's not beating up, though to me and probably others, is it.' Rose said, biting her lip. In London, this happened a lot, so it was a problem.

" I do not think we are akkowsd to dive in the lake or the pond" William told Anna."Actually, I likw climbing up to the treehouse" William said to Anna.

Ryan walked intothe common room and thought to himself,I'll find some friends so he sat down on a chair and started a lively game with himself hoping someone would join of the best Wizardry thing.

Kurumi frowned a bit. It sounded like the first year hadn't had the best upbringing. "I'm sorry," she said after a few moments of taking it all in. "My mother...wasn't really around either." For very different reasons. Sometimes Kurumi wondered why she didn't just get up and leave considering how unsupportive she was of her own children for embracing who they were. "I am sure she is very proud of you."

"I've heard that it was picture them in a chicken suit," she mused as she tapped her finger against her bottom lip. Imagining people naked wouldn't really help her. It would make her more nervous in fact. She was flustered enough when she saw Josh with his shirt partly opened. Her cheeks were flushing already, so she best cut off her train of thought now before she turned the color of a tomato.

Kurumi nodded. "Yes, me and a few others. Another boy lost a jaw bone. It was all rather frightening, but the potions were all brewed properly, so no harm done." Besides the emotional scaring that is.

Kurumi was a bit startled when Adam jumped to his feet, but giggled when she heard why. "O-Okay," she said with a smile and a little wave towards the puppy. Puppy health was very important and she would hate to see a sick dog walking around the common room. "See you later then."

Maxwell sat and thought for a few moments. "Hmmm? I'm not sure. that would be interesting though."

Josephine semi-closed her eyes and looked at him for a moment, she sat with legs to a side, her left hand in her chin and returned the smirk "Then that will be too bad for you, I will not say anything" she said in a voice that didn't sound like her own.

Nessie giggled. She could COMPLETELY understand where the nickname came from. She thought back to today's events. She was only asking how she was . . .

"I can understand where it comes from. I have her potions class and she's just short of breathing fire. Does she really like being called Dragon Lady?She asked her eyes wide.

Nessie smiled and nodded. She loved Defense against the Dark Arts, though the teacher was kind of mean too . . .

D.A.D.A is . . . interesting. Professor Glass is tough though. She took 30 points away from Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Nessie turned and awaited Josephine's answer.

Nika walked into the common still a bit angered after that game they played more like war in history of magic. Gryffindor did not cheat. Kurumi just spit the apple she didn't throw it. Ugh. Professor Scabior. Nika wasn't completely sure if she liked him when the class started, but now she was positive that she really didn't like that guy. First he takes points away from Kurumi then he accuses her of cheating. When one Gryffindor goes down all Gryffindors go down.

Ugh.

And not only did he get angry at the Gryffindors, but he didn't even say anything about that stupid first year hufflepuff stupefying Nika. Pfft. First years. Well that kid had just found himself an enemy that's for sure. You don't just go stupefying people in the middle of class, even if the game is getting competitive. That's just not right .

With all thoughts still floating around in Nika's head she made her way towards the fire and found a comfy looking chair to sit in. Pulling her legs up onto the chair she just stared at the fire care free for the moment. It was beautiful. Just then she realized how few people she had talked to this term. She hadn't even had a chance to talk to her friends from last term or the term before. A lot of them have moved up to fifth year so they are probably preparing for their exams... Even though the year had just started? Maybe they were all avoiding Nika?

Jordan smiled, he was kind of glad to get it all off of his chest. "I spent a lot of my early years on my own, just experimenting with what I could do," he said. "It wasn't the best childhood,"
He shifted slightly uncomfortably when Kurumi mentioned her own mother, he felt as though that wasn't the whole story, but he wasn't going to pry. "Thanks Kurumi," he felt touched at the proud comment.

" Hi Nika" William called out. " This is not the first time professors have been tough on students this term" William told Nika." They are being downright mean to Gryffindors" William said to Nika.

"Wow! That'll be really interesting! Are you doing Transfiguration? I havn't seen you in class..." Willow smiled at the thought of them pairing up and her turning Will's hair bright green or something! "Ooo so many choices!" she laughed. "It might be to cold for a swim just yet but how about the treehouse?" she asked. But really, she would probably do whatever he wanted to.

"Hey, I'm Lilly Deluise. First year." Lilly smiled. :techni:

Jordan shrugged, "Anyway, that's not going to happen for a few years," he smiled. "You enjoying classes?" he asked.

Kurumi smiled and, not knowing what else to say, did what her brothers always did when she was said. It was amazing how the simple act of resting an arm around someone's shoulder could provide so much comfort and warmth. "Think of it this way, coming to Hogwarts means that you are closing one chapter in your life and starting another. At least, that is how I always thought about it." And Merlin what a complicated new chapter this was turning out to be.

Jordan nodded in agreement, "Yeah, thats a good way of thinking about it!" he said, smiling as Kurumi put her arm around his shoulders. "Do you have any siblings?" he asked her out of curiosity.

There were a lot of new things waiting for Jordan and Kurumi was a little jealous about getting the chance to start over. Merlin, her first three terms at Hogwarts had all ended in disasters. Well, that wasn't entirely true. The end of her first term had probably been the closest to being a happy ending, but the important thing is that she was growing, right?

"I do, three older brothers actually. They all went to Hogwarts, two in Gryffindor and one in Ravenclaw. They've all graduated now though."

Jordan was slightly envious that Kurumi had siblings in the wizarding world, his witch mum wasn't around and he had four muggle brothers. "That must've been cool." he sighed, wondering if any of the brothers were also a metamorphmagus. He didn't ask.

"They were my biggest support system," she nodded with a weak smile. "Especially since mother wouldn't even look at me most of the time. I never knew why though, there was no talk of magic at our home and I never knew this world existed until I got my letter." She began to laugh nervously, trying to cover up how much the memories still hurt. She had been better at dealing with it all, but the sting was still there. "Silly, isn't it, lying to your own children and siblings about what they really are..."

Thomas shook his head. He didn't find it boring. It was nice just having someone to talk to who wasn't judging him. “I dun' mind.” He said quietly. “I'm quite good ah listenin' an' tha'." Better than he was at talking... because most people around here didn't understand a word that came out of his mouth.

He smiled as she laughed and sat back again. “An' she got kicked off the team for that?” His eyes widened. He had heard what a violent sport this Quiddtich. “Me cousin woz the Slyvverin Captain a few years ago.” He told her with a nod. “E says violence is all part of the sport.” And now he was professional or something. Thomas wasn't entirely sure. He didn't see the boy often.. and they certainly didn't get on well.

Tom grinned and nodded. “I fought I woz just a maggle. Then tha' 'appened. Buh.. me maagick still only shows when I'm angry.” He still hadn't learned the art of focus. “Green?” He laughed warmly. “That's pretty cool. Did your teacher deserve it?”

Yeah, grounded for an entire week. “Ma said I 'ad no reason to be tha' angry and I need to control me tempah.” He shrugged. “She said I could 'av a week tah fink abou' controllin' meself.”


While Tom waited for the older boy to swallow his pride and apologise, he looked at Kurumi, not really knowing what her badge symbolised. He gave her a nod when she spoke up at last. Yeah, if roles were reversed, surely this boy would want an apology too.

“Kurumi 'ollin'berry.” He repeated. He eyed her badge. “Wot's tha' mean?” He pointed at the badge. Pr... prfeec.. Prefect? :/

Thankful that it seemed as though things were calm for now, Kurumi's posture loosened a bit and she rolled her shoulders. The only thing that could make this situation worse would be if Walnut showed up. Merlin! Had she just jinxed it?

"Everyone calls me Kurumi though," she said with a slight nod of the head, taking extra time to pronounce her name. The way he studied her prefect badge was...odd. It was almost as if he needed reading glasses. "Prefect," she smiled. "It means I am a student leader." Because, that is what he had meant when he asked the question, right? What prefect meant.

Tom tilted his head and studied the girl. She could have been his age.. maybe a little older. “S' diffren'.” he replied. Not a name he had ever heard before.

A student leader? Tom's eyes widened momentarily before they narrowed ever so slightly. He had never really liked those in authority. But Kurumi was young to be a leader and Tom was sure by her nervous stutter and squirming she wasn't about to start ordering him about. And she had, sort of, taken his side over Josh's. His expression smoothed out.

“'Ere, so, you're the one we come tah if we're strugglin' wiff our 'omework an' tha'?” That seemed fine to Tom. The girl seemed almost approachable for a 'student leader'.

Kurumi had to really pay attention and watch his lips when Tom spoke. It reminded her of the English classes she had had back in her school in Japan. The foreign teachers were always instructing them to watch their lips and mimic the movement to be able to make the proper sound. Kurumi didn't need as much help as the others due to her father being British, but all those lessons had made her at least semi decent at reading lips.

Which she was VERY thankful for right now.

"It's Japanese," she explained. Meant Walnut, but that was what their History of Magic professor would call 'unnecessary information' and she kept that to herself. "Your accent...is also different. Not one that I am used to." Which wasn't saying all that much really. All native speakers of English sounded different to her.

There was that word 'ome again, but this time attached to work. She wasn't entirely sure she understand the latter part of his sentence, but she did understand the word struggling which gave her enough to go by. "Professors are always your best option if you are struggling with a particular class, but I am more than willing to help you anytime with anything." Kurumi liked studying after all.
