When not in use for games, the Quidditch Pitch is open for students to practice their Quidditch skills before attending team tryouts, and it's also open for students to practice their flying skills (make sure you get a broom from the Broomshed!)
Once the Quidditch season officially begins, team captains can 'book the field' with Professor Vindictus for practice and non-team members can watch practices occur. When practices aren't in session, the pitch is open for flying practice.

"The school!" Shaw's lightbulb lit up. "I have to go teach a class!" He thumped his head. "My bad. You think you know where that is? It's a classroom and students are going to come and I'm going to teach them all a little something something."
"Yeah..... sorry 'bout that, little squirt. Don't know what happened. That gravity is a mean old cow, no?" Shaw went to offer his hand as an apologetic gesture, but thought better of it and waved awkwardly instead.
"So my classroom?" Someone lead the way?
Shaw took off towards the castle at a sprint, leaving the entire group behind. "EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF....." [/COLOR]
Squirt? Hateya blinked at him; gravity was a cow? For all that she'd been squashed, he seemed to be the one who was out of it. But, at least he'd apologized. She always did like it when people apologized.
The wave had to be worked on though, "That's okay, Not-Sir. I..."
And off he went.

Then again if crazy man hurt someone he was going to blame himself and...UGH. Worst day ever for him to decide to fly.
"So... he's one of our teachers, huh?" Hateya looked up at the older boy, starting to pick the grass out of her hair. She was going to need another shower now, "I bet he teaches crystal ball stuff."
Jacob saw people falling and stumbling out of the corner of his eye, but Jacob stayed focused on the path... they'd deal with any deaths later. So he simply shouted back to them. "Don't Hurt yourselves, back there."
Yup, that was going to do so much good. Yelling at them as they fell to their deaths.
Right now all that was on Jacobs mind was taking back the lead. He followed Simon around the stands, slowly but surely catching up on the Gryffindor. He was nearly close enough to Simon in order to ram the boy, but decided it was best not to. There was no telling the risk of that to his new broom. Better just use their bodies for violent acts.
"Come on, Bennett." he started with a laugh. "You know you can't beat me." Jacob yelled as the space between them became less and less.

Swerving around a hufflepuff he accidentally caught the tail of Kurumi's broom but not feeling it with the movement he was going, he didn't realise it.
The wind whistling as he continued to race made it hard to hear or at least make out what Kurumi yelled but as he glanced back to look at Jacob to answer his fellow captain's taunt, "Don't be so sure, " he caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye. Facing forward for a moment to be careful, he looked back again to check on what he might have seen only to spot two persons in Gryffindor robes in apparent trouble.
Correction, two very familiar girls and Selina was in danger of falling!
No longer caring about the race Simon ignored Jacob and leaned himself into a turn as he rushed to his teammate's assistance. The captain pulled his broom beneath Selina so he could catch the second year who could still grab hold of her broom so it didn't fall. "I got you Selina..." he assured her so she would know to relax and sit in front of him on his broom.

Tears started to swell in her eyes, she was too high up to make it down with a minor injury. A major injury would be lucky. This fall would break her neck and she was only twelve.
The tears began to burn her eyes and her pinky finger lost it's hold on the broom, then her ring finger. The next finger she lost would be her inevitable fall. Why was she even holding on still? There was nothing that was going to stop her from her fall. So... she let go.
She expected some kind of hard crash and darkness, but it never came. Instead she felt a solid broom beneath her body and a strong torso supporting her tiny frame. Selina opened her eyes and saw Simon behind her. She had never been so happy to see anyone in her life. In relief she leaned against him with her back and started to cry. She thought she was going to die.

Jacob pulled his handle and made a hard stop. He turned in mid air to see what the boy had gone of to do. Was he really going to cheat that way? At least Jacob cheated to the boys face, but really? Shortcuts?
But instead off seeing Simon speeding off, he saw the kid helping one of the Gryffindor players. Really? Jacob took his hands off the broom, his palms overturned. He looked around at all the spectators. What was going on.
"Dude?!" Jacob called to the older Captain
what was this madness. Was he forfeiting? Or What? So Not Cool Man!

When Kyle noticed Selina and Kurumi falling she didn't hesitate to jump up from her seat, her broom in her hand. Climbing onto the railing she quickly climbed onto her broom and kicked off falling slightly before flying forward. Her little heart fluttering quickly with fear.
Kyle pushed forward until she was right near the falling girls, she couldn't help but sigh as Simon caught Selina and froze Kurumi in her fall to the ground. She didn't know her well - but Kyle wasn't one to like anyone to get hurt.
Kyle glanced over to Simon, "Simon, do you need any help?" She asked, hovering closer to where Kurumi was frozen in the air. She wanted both girls to be safe.

"No, I'm not happy!" he called. "But fine... care for your house peeps. You'll get yours in our match." and with that Jacob turned angrily. He thought Jacob just wanted to win? No! Jacob wanted to prove his superiority in a friendly, yet competitive race. But no. He cared for his housemates safety.

"ALRIGHT! Who Stole This Quaffle?!"
cause the captains knew not to take equipment out during recreational Flying. So someone must have broken into the Captains Locker room somehow.

Isobel heard the captainboy yelling about a quaffle. "I bought it," she informed him. "In Diagon Alley." Was she not supposed to have brought it to school. She was suddenly nervous. "Was I not supposed to bring it here." Her voice was small.

Ivan looked at the man as if he'd grown another head. Who WAS this man? "And what are you supposed to teach?" he asked crossing his arms. Ivan turned around and saw TJ standing there and smirked then turned back to the crazy man. "She's not doing anything." In fact he hadn't seen her in awhile something he needed to remedy.
This was all getting too much and way too confusing. "You have to tell us what you're teaching before I can tell you where you need to..." "I have no idea...maybe follow him? To make sure he gets whereever he's going ok?" Looking over Ivan's shoulder she watched the man as he disappeared through the pitch's gates. "How've you been?" she asked her eyes flickering back to Ivan.

Selina could barely hear outside noise as she tried to calm her small sobs. She was never this emotional. She was practically raised on the Pitch and the number one rule on the Pitch was never be emotional. The last time Selina had cried, well, she couldn't remember the last time she had cried. So she forced all of her emotions and almost death back down her throat. This was no time for weakness, she had to show Jacob Blunt that he was not going to mess with her.
She sat up straight on Simon's broom with him behind her and lifted her small frame off his chest. Although she was somewhat sad to find that she was vulnerable again without his body's support she was a Quidditch player. The broom was her instrument and no event, no matter how traumatizing, was going to keep her from asserting her power in the sky.
Then she saw Kyle who was a mess by Kurumi panicking over Selina's state. She shot her a warm smile to let her know that she was safe and then turned around to look at Simon with her nose still red and also gave him a reassuring smile. When she was alone later she would cry, but for now no one wanted to see her weak.
Selina yelled across the Pitch to Jacob, "We'll see about whose getting who on the Pitch when the time comes, Blunt. Now don't you have to go fly off selfishly and try to kill another group of young kids?"

Violet was going to say something else to Selina and Kurumi until she saw Simon and Jacob racing one another. She thought that they were going really fast and was thinking they should really watch out before they collided with someone. Violet continued watching the two race quietly with both of her hands on the handle of her broom and then it happened. Jacob barely hit Selina and Kurumi, and then she watched as Selina was dangling for her life on the end of her broom and Kurumi was spinning out of control towards the bleachers, it all was happening too fast! As soon as Selina had let go of her broom Violet's voice screeched loudly,"SELINA!"
She was about to try and save her friend but before she knew it Selina's friend and Quidditch Captain Simon Bennett saved both her best friend and Kurumi! And Violet felt SO relieved, from the shock she placed her hand on her chest trying to calm herself. Violet then took the initiative to fly towards her best friend to see if she was alright. As soon as she was near both Selina and Simon she said frantically getting worked up again,"Sely! Oh Merlin, Sely are you okay?" All she wanted to do at that moment was hug her best friend tightly but seeing that they were on brooms in mid-air it seemed that that really wasn't the time and place for that, so that would be saved for later. She looked at Simon and said,"That was brilliant! I have never seen someone fly so fast like that before in my life! Thank you so much for saving Selina and Kurumi! That was very heroic!" She smiled in a friendly manner and said,"So Gryffindor of you!"

Ivan let his eyes follow the professor and shook his head, "No. Let the professors handle it." He turned to look at TJ fully and smirked. "I've been alright. You? Still think kissing is over rated?" He gave her a smirk and walked closer to her to get his broom.

Raising her eyebrow at him as he smirked at her, she replied coyly, "Guess it all depends on whom I'm kissing." She didn't like flying, never had and probably never would. But she enjoyed watching people fly and even practice quidditch. Stepping back as he moved closer she realized that his broom was probably behind her and stepped to the side instead.
"Still trying to teach people to flirt?" she asked with a smirk playing at her own lips now.

Grabbing his broom Ivan took a few steps closer to her until he was sure he was crossing her personal space. "Well now that depends on who the person is," he said with a smirk.
Holding his broom against the ground he gave her a smirk. "Still needing advice?"

Oh, so he was gonna play that game, hmmm. "Is that right?" Smirking she lifted an eyebrow daintily. "Any prospects lately?" Taking a step back again, she tried to do so nonchalantly.
"Nah, I think I got that down quite well thank you." she said coyly. If only he knew, hehe.

Ivan's smirk turned into a grin and he nodded, "Yup that's right." He didn't miss the step back she took and he raised an eyebrow. "A few here and there." Well one really but that wasn't progressing like he thought it should have.
"Oh do you? Or maybe you just found some fool boy who's just so desperate that it doesn't matter if you're good at it or not," he teased her.

Finally he stopped stepping closer. Ha, she won, a smirk appearing again, "Well at least you have something to keep you busy, while you flirt." Why else would he want to teach someone to flirt? Other then to flirt back hoping for a better prospect in a girlfriend.
"Awwwww. Jealous huh?" she asked tilting her head looking at him coyly.
"To the Headmaster?" Shaw used the young man's help to get his feet, then threw a look down at the thing he'd squished. "My head's alright, but I think that little one down there might need a check-up from that master. You look like you can handle that.....?"
Shaw sized the boy up from over his sunglasses, then took a long imaginary sip from his cup again.
"You don't say???" Shaw had no memory of coming from a ship, let alone a mysterious one, but stranger things had happened. "I'm glad to know that."
Always know your way out. Shaw's was apparently a ship. A mysterious ship.
Shaw did look embarrassed that he'd squished the little thing. "It's not crying, is it?" he asked of the young man, inching his the steel toe of his boot towards the little ...girl thing.
" Well, I guess you are cool" Wiliam told the man. "Wait a minute, you are Shaw, the Transfiguration professor" William said to him. "Sp sporry to sat you came from that mysterious ship" William apologized to Shaw.

SHE.WAS.GOING.TO.BE.SICK...
Kurumi had never been a fan of those spinning rides at amusement parks. The last time she had been one had turned disaster real quick. Ryunosuke had bought her a rather large hot dog and fizzy drink. After finishing the meal, he had dragged her to a ride where they had spun around so fast that...well...Kurumi needed another lunch after recovering.
Thanks to Simon's quick wand skills, her physical spinning had stopped...perhaps a little too suddenly...
Her palms all sweaty from trying to hold on while she was spinning out of control, Kurumi found herself unable to hold on any longer and lost in a battle with momentum and went flying off the front of her broom and head first into the stands. Thankfully, she managed to collide with one of the elaborate banners first, which slowed her down enough to not seriously injure herself before she crash landed on a few of the empty seats.
Her broom, however, remained stationary in the sky.
Using one of the benches for support, Kurumi pulled herself up and looked around. Despite her physically not spinning anymore, she still felt as though she had been thrown into the tumble cycle on her mother's washing machine.
"S-S-S-Simon?" Kurumi squeaked squinting her eyes a bit. She at least thought that that voice belonged to Simon. "W-W-Why are there six of you?"

Isobel looked at the person nervously. "I-I'm sorry," she said. She caught the quaffle and walked over to Maybelle. "Come, now." She took her arm and made her go with her back to the common room. Do the broomshed first though, so Maybelle could put the broom back.
Vashti watched as Louisa mounted her broom. So far so good, except she didn't seem all that comfortable. "Loosen up a little bit," she advised. "You're not making yourself anymore comfortable gripping it like that, even with the Cushioning Charm. Flying isn't as much fun if you're stiff as a board." Not that you wanted to be so loose that you fell off either. There was a happy medium in there somewhere.
She smiled a little. "If you'd like me to." And she kicked off the ground, but gently so that she only rose about five and a half feet.
Her eyes were at the same level with Vashti for a few, before the older girl was above the ground. Just like that. She couldn't hide her impression, it usually takes her about two minutes before she gets off the ground. "Okay." Regarding the advice.
She took a deep breath, settled herself more comfy on the flying thing. "Here goes nothing." She said kicking the ground hesitantly. The broom smoothly shot forward and was above the ground about three feet and hang in there. Louisa's hands clutched to the broom tightly again and she was glaring downward. The ground wasn't so far but.. the fall sure would be painful.
"Is... this okay?" She asked her friend with no eye contact but her voice wasn't so steady either, she was out of breath too as if holding down something. She watched the vibrating broom, her body rocking sideways but not strongly enough to get her off the thing. It was like she was on a boat in the middle of a raging ocean- Only there was no ocean at all.

When she saw six Simon's Selina let out a mixture of something that was a hiccup and a laugh. Her emotions from her near-death experience were too much for her right now. She called across to her friend, "I'm glad you're okay Kurumi."
Then to add more stress to her already stressed state Violet came over and thanked Simon. She was glad to see that her friend cared and all, but if Selina had her way she would flee the Pitch now and lock herself up in her room to cry. Before Selina had let go she had decided that she was going to die, she had given up. That thought scared her. The prospect of it all being over and for a moment it was over for Selina.
That thought snapped her back to reality and the proximity in which she was close to her Captain. She scooted forward on the broom and blushed, "Um, sorry Simon. And, uh, thanks. If it wasn't for you I'd be dead."

Kyle glanced over to Simon, "Simon, do you need any help?" She asked, hovering closer to where Kurumi was frozen in the air. She wanted both girls to be safe.
Trying to grasp the whole situation, Simon looked over as Kyle joined them. He was about to answer when his spell backfired and the sudden stop of Kurumi's broom cause her to fly off causing his eyes to widden as he followed her with his eyes. "Um...I don't know," he replied honestly with a wince as she landed.

Simon raised an eyebrow as the Ravenclaw seemed to have a hissy fit because he had given up on the race. It wasn't important and a stupid idea anyway with this many other people around. He almost commented about the threat he was given but let it be with a shake of the head as Jacob turned away and went to deal with another unfortunate soul.

About to fly closer to the stands to check on Kurumi, Simon remembered he had a passenger and didn't want to move suddenly without her knowledge. Selina had already had enough close calls for the day he figured. He opened his mouth to speak when Selina beat him to it, answering back to Jacob's taught and he couldn't help feel somewhat proud over the whole exchange.

"Thanks," Simon said to the compliment he was recieving as another girl flew closer, apparently very releived that he had been so fast and saved Selina. "You're certainly welcome..." I'm just glad I noticed and could move in time," he added which was true. He wouldn't have been able to forgive himself if Kurumi and Selina had gotten seriously injured.
Speaking of Kurumi....

"S-S-S-Simon?" Kurumi squeaked squinting her eyes a bit. She at least thought that that voice belonged to Simon. "W-W-Why are there six of you?"
With Selina settled on the broom, he finally made his way over to the stands to check on his friend. He frowned as she mentioned seeing six of him, hoping that didn't mean something was wrong and that she had a concussion. "Um...I think you're just shaken up, Kurumi. There's only one of me really. Sorry about that, I thought it would work better then it did," he said appologizing since it had been his fault she had been thrown.

"Its ok," he assured her as she apparently realised just how close they were, the proof all in the blush that graced her face. Simon pretended not to notice, not wanting to make her even more self-conscious, his own feeling of ackwardness kept controlled. "And you're welcome. Perhaps I should drop you off here," he mused, moving over the railing and closer to the seats of the stands so she could climb off.
" I would love to choose teams, but a lot of students are either practicing solo or with one freind" William explained to Heather. " You and I can practice together " William said to Hannah." Is that ok with you?" William asked Heather.
yeah sounds good she said with a smile.yeah thats okay with me she said with a smile.
Kyle glanced up, her eyes large with shock as she saw Kurumi fly over her broom into the stands. That must have hurt. If she needed someone to take her to the hospital wing she would do that as quickly as possible. Her own head felt dizzy at the thought of what the girl had to go through - and all because of a race. She thought with a huff.
"Oh gosh that looks painful" she whispered to herself feeling a pang for the other girl. She wanted her to be alright really - and "I get that" she told Simon as he flew off, to set Selina down.
