You knock on the door and hear a deep voice beckoning you inside. Once inside, you are greeted by various portraits of Quidditch greats of years' past and present. The largest of the portraits is that of the man sitting behind a massive mahogany desk - Professor Maximus O. Vindictus, a legend in his own right (and some would argue, mind). His blonde hair, twinkling blue eyes, and gleaming smile are unmistakable, and you realize you are in the presence of a professional athlete and celebrity who even managed to find the time to pursue university degrees as seen by the two large, framed diplomas that hang proudly on the wall. Looking around the room, you begin to notice overstuffed navy blue leather couches that flank the coffee table by the fire. Various Quidditch magazines and books lay on the coffee table, as does a bowl of chocolate frogs. On each side of the fireplace, are two trophy cases - the hardware inside gleaming after a good polishing.

The door to the office is closed and locked. You will need to knock and wait for Professor Vindictus to allow you inside.

Treyen sat on one of the chairs and leaned towards the desk for a moment, "Actually, Quidditch is why I'm here, sort of," no, he wasn't quitting the team or anything, but he finally placed the picture on Vindictus' desk. "I...kind of want you to sign it, Sir," he smiled, the picture was of Vindictus himself, officiating during the World Cup. The last World Cup Treyen went as a student, of course. This past summer.

"I'd be honored to sign it," Vindictus replied and grabbed a quill. He dipped it in the inkwell and within seconds, a faint scratching noise was heard.

Maximus O. Vindictus

A signature that was worth some serious coin. Personal messages often devalued such works of art and this photograph WAS a work of art.

He handed the picture back to Treyen.

"There you go. Hope this eases the sting on the loss of house points."

That last part just slipped out.

Like, completely awesome. But, of course, Vindictus would sign any perfect picture of him, no? And this was a really good one, plus, a nice memory of both the World Cup and the Professor as well.

Before the man became old, that is. Not that he was close to that, he'd seen a picture of Kazimeriz...and, man! That was ancient looking for real.

But, yeah, the picture. Treyen had been nodding and smiling, "Thanks, Professor!" he said, and took the picture between his hands...until...wait, what did he just say?

Loss of points?

WHAT loss of points? "Eh, what loss of points, Sir?" he asked, tilting his head to one side. He wasn't going to lose points just by asking for an autograph, right?

A shimmering silver hummingbird appears in Professor Vindictus's office.. after hovering as if suspended in midair the hummingbird flitted forward. Then... the voice of Professor Seren Bentley filled the office.

What on Earth was wrong with the boy?! They had a pending conversation anyway, and he'll be sure to mention this. Maybe that was the odd feeling he'd felt when coming to the office? WAS IT SIMON THE ONE THAT LOST 50 POINTS?!

He was about to ask about those 50 points, but then a hummingbird came rushing to the office. Ah! He knew that voice. Bentley.

Okay. So, Vindictus was needed, at least Treyen got in time for the autograph, but...WHAT WAS HE DOING TAKING THAT BEATER'S BAT?! Treyen's eyes grew wide, and he blinked many times. Why would Vindictus be needing a bat for?! Scary. Terrifying. And, hehe, Treyen stood up once he figured out that Vindictus' words actually meant that Treyen ought to leave as well, no?

"Er, yeah, of course, no problem, Sir," he said, blinking a couple times, "I'll talk to Simon, by the way, and thanks for the autograph," he nodded, and was completely concerned for the person in the Criminal Cell.

"See you around, Professor...hopefully not in the Criminal Cell," Treyen smiled, and clearly left, but not before taking TWO Chocolate Frogs.

"Later, Treyen!" Vindictus called out and he followed the Hufflepuff prefect out of his office and locked it behind him.

But he hesitated for a moment as he looked up at the castle. Perhaps bringing his bat was a good idea after all.

Vindictus returned a few hours later with his trusty Beater's Bat tucked safely under his arm. He unlocked the door to his office and went inside. The first thing he did was return his bat to it's spot in one of the trophy cases. Then he walked over to the window while waiting for a certain Ravenclaw to burst into his office.

Jacob walked towards the Flying Professors Office. The man had, as it seemed, already made it in. And so Jacob slowed his pace... he make the man wait. Vindictus wanted to hurry? Jacob would slow it down.

When he reached the Quidditch Artifacts Door, Jacob picked up his hand to knock... but decided last minute no to. He already Knew Jacob was here what was the point.

So Jacob simply opened the door and walked in, he kept the door open for an easy escape, and crossed his arms as he hung out by the doorway. "What do you need that couldn't have been talked about in the cell?" he asked the man... Really Jacob wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, but he wanted to go straight for the common room, no Max's Office.

Jacobs arms uncrossed as the man spoke from the window. "Adventure? Of Course" he said as a smile crossed his face. But Jacob was cautious of what he said. The man could be trying to get some sort of information out of Jacob.

"What offer is this?" he asked as the man turned to him.

Jacob moved his hand towards The badge carefully... but pulled back, before grabbing the badge. He quickly pinned it back to his robes where it belonged, and looked back to the Quidditch Official.

"Sure, It won't be as fun without the risk, but yeah. I guess it shouldn't be that boring." he said jokingly.

Lexi needed to find him. Like NOWish. Hmph.

She supposed the best place to look for him was his office... or the pitch. Deciding on his office she made her way there, rubbing her left eye with great agitation as she went. FINALLY making it there she knocked HARD on his door and waited to be granted entrance.

Simon had nearly stumbled and fell more then once as he ran seeing as it wasn't easy running in their condition. If he hadn't been in a rush he might have stopped and dried himself off a little more, but turning and seeing Jacob right on his tail made him work his darndest to continue on. Maybe he could prove once and for all that just because he won last term's quidditch championship that he wasn't always the best in everything.

That would be something seeing as they always seemed to be challenging each other.

Thankfully Vindictus' office was out on the grounds and not up in one of the towers making the distance longer and more perilous for the two giving chase. Hitting the area around the pitch and their final destination, Simon sprinted the last few feet still clunching the hat. The seventh year stopping short just inches away from the door ready to knock once he caught his breath.

Jacob kept moving his feet, still catching up on the Gryffindor.

He saw the Quidditch pitch as he and Simon kept they race to the Quidditch Officials office. And there it was the office, waiting for them. But Jacob still didn't have the hat, and vindictus would yell at him.

Simon started to slow... but Jacobs feet wouldn't stop. It was so cold that the brakes had frozen, and Jacob couldn't stop

And once His body hit not only Simon, but the door as well, it broke down beneath both their weights. And he fell with it.

Jacob looked into the office, and then back into the ground, panting heavily.

"Oops."

Lexi had been sort of standing around just... looking when the two quidditch captains ~~idiots~~ showed up and knocked her over. "OI! Can you two PLEASE watch what the hell you are doing?!" she shouted as she pushed herself up off of the ground and GLARED!

The ruckus caused Vindictus to look up from his paper work with a startled expression.

"What in Merlin's Beard is going on in here?!" he called out in a booming voice, the same voice that he saved for officiating the games.

It didn't fail to escape his notice that his office door now resembled a pile of troll-sized toothpicks.

One second he was standing up almost leaning on the door and the next movement Jacob had crashed into him, the Ravenclaw pushing him up against the door until the wood gave way and they both fell to the floor with a crash.

"What did I say about tackling people?" Simon remarked with a scowl trying his best to get up and out from under him but behing unsuccessful so he waited until his fellow captain moved. Hearing a voice beside him, he turned to see Lexi complaining about them bumping into her. "Well maybe ye should be careful less you lose the other eye..." he mused not thinking much on what he actually said for his attention was drawn to the desk that now lay in front on them.

Vindictus...the very man they had come to see. The captain. And he didn't seem all to happy.

"Well sir, this scallywag tried to steal you hat," he answered holding it out for Vindictus from where he still lay pinned.

That door was broken when he got Here!

Jacob got up off the ground. and looked at Simon first. "I didn't tackle! My legs just wouldn't stop!" and he blamed Simon for that. If the boy hadn't been so close to the edge, Jacob wouldn't have fallen into the lake.

His attention then turned to the booming voice which was Vindictus. Jacob was still shivering, and he was still soaking wet of Lake water. "Simon wouldn't let me do my job... he took the Hat and ran." and the puff got in the way... else Jacob would have had it back already.
