Ah sorry, I can't read XD SPOILER!!: Quotes! Alfie's eyebrows rose just slightly as Ruby asked what nickname she was talking about, and quickly realized she had misunderstood. "Nevermind," she quickly said, finding herself squeaking as though a mouse or something of the sort. She watched with amazed/horrified wide blue eyes as Braeden and Ruby had their exchange, fighting over this picture, whatever it was of, something that Braeden obviously took pride in. He obviously liked having the upperhand and Ruby obviously didn't like not having it. They were incredibly interesting, she couldn't deny that, and just stood there with wide eyes, observing the two. That was, until Braeden very suddenly got to his feet to the best of his ability, hobbling on one foot as he announced that he was headed to the hospital wing. Her eyebrows rose at this, crossing her arms absentmindedly over her chest, as he started hopping down the corridor towards the stairs. Oh man, what if he fell? She gave a small grimace at the sight of him sadly making his way towards the exit, and glanced at Ruby. She didn't really know what to do. |
S'okay, happens to the best of us! xD SPOILER!!: asdfghjkl Ruby struggled to stay balanced as she tried to snatch the picture but unfortunately for, Brae sensed danger and snatched it right back. GUH SHE HATED WHEN HE DID THAT. When were they going to stop arguing over this stupid photograph?! -____- It was driving her INSANE; she looked quite deranged. When he questioned her, she felt completely stupid; she had been tricked by a DOOFUS. HOW embarrassing. And then he went on about not wanting her to ruin their only memory of them, blah blah, she'd heard it all before. "I'm gonna get that picture or die trying," She hissed at him, her face so red now that you couldn't tell her hair apart from it; it looked like one huge hairy mess. But apparently Brae thought this little chat was over and he staggered up, though quite unbalanced on his stubbed toe. She watched him make his way to the stairs and her eyes shone like crazy--THIS WAS HER CHANCE!!! Trying very hard not to skip with excitement, Ruby followed him. "Hospital Wing? Sure thing. Lemme help you," She said, not troubling to keep the mwahaha-ness out of her voice. And then, the fiery little redhead made a run for the Gryffindork and tackled him to the ground, causing him to land on his hurt toe. "HAHAHAHAHAH!!" Maniac laugh. Poor Alfie; what must she think of them? ... WHO CARES?! She wouldn't stop until Brae's toe was completely USELESS. |
OHMAHGAWSH I can't take thissssssssss!!!!! xDDDDDDDDD Braeden sensed a presence behind him and, with horror very clearly written on his face, he turned around slowly. OH GOD, PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE RUBY, PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE RUBY. It was Ruby. NOOOOOOOOO!!! Poor Brae looked like he'd just been punched in the face when he saw Ruby coming his way, sarcasm dripping from her voice as she neared him. Oh God, she was going to kill him. She was definitely going to kill him. This was it. This was the end. He was going to die at the foot of these stairs and there was nothing he could do to stop it. ;___________; But Ruby didn't push him down the stairs, like he'd expected. Instead, she jumped on him, causing the boy to lose his balance and let his hurt foot down. HITTING HIS TOE ON THE FLOOR. "GAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" SIERYSUKFHSDG!!!!! HIS TOEEEEEEEEE!!!!! "GER'OFF ME, YOU MANIAC!" Braeden flailed about, but Ruby was stuck on him like gum under a shoe. "OW, OW, OW, OW." All he could really do at this point was walk around in circles praying that Ruby would eventually fall off or something. Before his TOE fell off. "FINE!! FINE, I'll give you the photograph!" cried the boy when he saw that there was no way of getting Ruby off him. "Just get off. PLEASE!" Or just push him down the stairs. At least dead he wouldn't feel any pain. |
Quote:
But when the Goofball mentioned that he would give her the picture, she loosened her grip--too fast. And now, with him running around like that, she fell off and thudded to the ground. "OWWW!" she screamed as she landed on her back and hit her head; THAT HURT. The poor girl sat up and rubbed her now-aching head. Stupid Brae, acting like a child. "Fine. I got off--NOW GIVE!" She demanded and promptly held out her hand for her prize. But something was telling her that she had made a big mistake; he had tricked her once before and he could certainly do it again. So, just in case, the redhead reached into her robes and held her wand. |
SPOILER!!: Quotes Alfie remained at her end of the hall, rooted to the carpet with her arms crossed, though she was completely unaware of anything but the two people she'd just met (kind of) who were now practically wrestling. Oh Merlin, she didn't not expect this to come out of helping a boy with a mirror. She remained silent, her mouth falling open just slightly as she tried to find the words. No, stop, don't hurt each other/fall down the stairs/send someone's toe flying off... None of that seemed applicable. Well, it applied, but she knew that they wouldn't listen to it. The weirdest part was that this seemed to be...regular. They did this...often? Finally, coming back to her senses, she jogged over to them but kept her distance, at least a few feet away. "Y-You guys!" she attempted, her face still masked with a grimace as she watched them spin around and the fighting got worse. That was, until Braeden offered up the picture. Oh great, that was back. Wasn't there someone she could send a note to? Didn't they have some other friends that knew how to deal with this? Babysitters? Something along those lines? Alfie had no idea what to do, her blue eyes wide as she watched the scene play out. |
SPOILER!!: quotes Poor Braeden was panting like a dog by the time Ruby finally fell off him. Merlin. That had been a work-out. And now Ruby was demanding the picture. Oh, right. He'd promised to give that up, hadn't he? The goofy boy was completely aware of Ruby's hand moving into her robes, though, and he was 9874857% sure she was getting ready to pull out her wand. It wasn't going to be easy to trick her without getting crucio'ed this time. Luckily for Brae, though, Alfie came closer to them at that moment. YES! Braeden saw his opportunity, and he made one huge jump toward Alfie, standing behind the girl. She wasn't much of a shield as he was about two heads taller than her, so he crouched down. "I can't give her the picture, it's all I've got! You've got to distract her, please!" the boy pleaded to the Ravenclaw girl. Oh yes. Meet Braeden Stonem: Gryffindor's bravest lion. Always ready to face his fears. Hiding behind a fourth year girl. |
LOLOLOLOL Alfie-Shield Quote:
"Heeeyyyy, Ruby..." Alfie started with a soft, breathless chuckle, crossing her arms over her chest as though that would make this situation normal. "If you could just...maybe put the wand...down?" she suggested, clearing her throat and releasing her hands to help gesture out her point. "I think this has gotten a bit out of hand...really, I mean, maybe we could all just...talk about this rationally?" |
Hehe. He's such a coward. & Alas, Ruby has left us! xD Quote:
The Gryffindork peaked his head from behind Alfie's blonde hair - ooh, it smelled nice too; he'd have to ask her what conditioner she used after this was all over - and listened as the Ravenclaw girl spoke. Yeahhh. Put the wand down! & Yeahhh, out of hand! Yeah! "Yeah, what she said!" he said from behind his shield. Because he was too much of a coward to say it to Ruby's face. |
What do you mean? Where'd she go? 0_o Quote:
"Let's get down to the root of the problem, shall we?" she suggested, raising her eyebrows just slightly and standing on her tip toes in the attempt of hiding Braeden better. "Because, if we keep going at this rate, you might just kill Braeden here, and then...well, it'd be really difficult to deal with. Y'know, there'd be legal issues and questions from the school..." she continued, both trying to stall and get her to reason. "You don't want to deal with that!" She reached a hand back and found the side of Braeden's stomach, "No offense, Braeden," she muttered, hoping he'd understand that his death would be more than just inconvenient, but she was using this route to stall. |
That she went to bed? xD Quote:
Braeden flashed Alfie a goofy, apologetic smile when the girl turned her head around and informed him he wasn't being very helpful. "Sorry, sorry! I'll keep my mouth shut from now on, promise!" Thank Merlin for Alfie. If the girl hadn't been there, Ruby would be feeding him to the owls by now, for sure. As the Ravenclaw girl (who was, sadly, a lot braver than the sixteen-year-old Gryffindork) continued speaking, Braeden nodded his head from behind the girl's own. "YEAH! Legal issues! Ya hear that, Lioness?!" Oh crap, he'd just promised he wouldn't talk. D'OH. "Oh, s--sorry," he whispered to Alfie. He couldn't help himself, though. The boy looked completely puzzled when Alfie then touched his stomach and told him 'no offense'. "What? I thought you were just trying to feel on me," muttered the boy, who was too slow for his own good at times, and had no idea what he was supposed to be offended about. Oh well. He wasn't about to complain, Alfie was playing lawyer for him and petting him at the same time. He'd be crazy to be offended by this. |
Ooohhhh nevermind, I'm slow. & Haha "she was being his lawyer AND petting him!" Quote:
She shook her head, about to get back to her defense when she realized (the hard way) that her hand was still on Braeden's stomach, listening to him explain that he thought she was 'just trying to feel on him'. "Feel on you?!" she repeated through a trail of chuckles with wide blue eyes, immediately letting her hand drop from his torso as she once more turned her head towards him. Realizing that she might have another moment before Ruby could say anything, she dipped her chin behind her shoulder to speak to him. "Is there anyone I can...go run and get? Or send a note to?" she suggested in a whisper, not sure how long she could stall Ruby with her words. |
Quote:
At the girl's horrified expression over his earlier comment, Braeden couldn't help but grin like a doof. HAR HAR HAR, he was so funneh, oh gawsh. No, not really. But he liked to think he was. Anyway, it was back to business as Alfie asked if there was anyone she could run and get. RUN AND GET?! "You're not running anywhere! What am I supposed to do all… exposed with her around!?" the boy immediately asked, clearly terrified by the thought of being left around Ruby without a little Ravenclaw to shield him. Then Alfie suggested the idea of sending a note. Who could possibly save him? Theo was probably as terrified of Ruby as he was… Riley was big and tough, he could probably scare the Lioness… Emma was good with spells, but he didn't want her to get in trouble because of him. "Try Riley… but I don't know if he'd come, he's a bit of a diva at times…" suggested Braeden. Yeah, all of his friends and the people he knew were… unique characters. "I'm going with you to get the parchment, though," the Gryffindork quickly added. NO WAY was he staying behind with the Lioness while Alfie got parchment and quill. Ruby could kill him in that time! |
Quote:
Alfie nearly jumped at his immediate response, listening as Braeden announced that she wasn't allowed to run anywhere as that would leave him exposed to Ruby. She gave a brief nod of understanding, realizing that that would be a pretty bad idea. The girl stared off into the distance momentarily as he gathered his thoughts, finally deciding that whoever 'Riley' was would be the best person to help but he could be a little 'diva' at times. "Diva?" Alfie repeated with a soft chuckle, quickly realizing that this Braeden surrounded himself with some interesting characters. It was then that he announced that he would have to go with her to get the parchment, which upon glancing back at Ruby, would probably be for the best. "Alright, alright," she agreed, still in a whisper, before turning back to Ruby. It had to be an interesting sight to the redhead sitting on the floor, to see them having a sort of conference in whispers behind her shoulder. "We're gonna need a second," Alfie announced with a weak smile. "And we will...be back. You can even watch us. I promise, we're not making a break for it." She flashed her a grin and slowly started in the direction of her bookbag (which, to prove her point of not fleeing, was not in the direction of the stairs). Alfie attempted to walk carefully, keeping her front to Ruby at all times, and trying to keep Braeden concealed to the best of her ability. |
Quote:
Merlin. How sad was this?! He was using a girl about two years younger than him as bodyguard, and his frightening bully was Ruby. RUBY. Not even some big, tough, muscular guy. No. It was a girl about a whole foot shorter than him and light as a feather. And here he was hiding from her like a mouse. Oh, Braeden Stonem. You weren't an embarrassment to Gryffindor at all. It seemed the House was filled with misfits - cowardly lions, and Slytherin-like dementors like Ruby. And then Alfie and Braeden, or Braefie, as they had sort of morphed into one person, began to walk toward Alfie's bag. And they were quite a sight. Alfie had to walk backward to keep herself facing Ruby at all times, and Brae had to hop because he couldn't use the foot with the stabbed toe. So he hopped backward, flailing his arms to keep balance while Alfie walked backward blindly. This could only end badly. And it did, as Braeden fell behind for a moment and Alfie ended up accidentally stepping on his good foot, so when the boy tried to hop again, he ended up instead falling backward and to the floor. "GAHH!!" Ruby must've been loving every second of this foolish nonsensery. T_T |
Bahahaha Braefie XD Quote:
She glanced back at the redhead quickly before glancing at her bookbag which was only seven feet away or so. "Okay Braeden, I'm gonna go get it, okay?" she said as though prepping him for the worst battle of his life. Her voice gentle, she flashed him a smile, unsure of how he would feel about his shield ditching him for .5 seconds. Alfie quickly realized that allowing him to give an answer would just lead to his anxiety, and so the girl spontaneously left his side and darted to her bag. In less that two seconds, she was back at his side, breathing a little more heavily and carrying her large bookbag. "I really need to get back on a Quidditch team..." she muttered breathlessly, for a moment forgetting about the current situation. |
Har har. Quote:
And then Alfie was announcing that she was leaving to get her bag. WHAT?! Brae's eyes went wide as saucers. WHAT?! SHE COULDN'T DO THAT! Ruby would surely take advantage and kill him! Aw, c'monnnnn! But before the boy could say anything, Alfie had already left him all alone and abandoned. To be eaten alive by Ruby. Nooooooooooooooo! "GAHH!! I'm DYING! She's KILLING ME! Oh, make it STOP! I had so much to live for! Why i--" And then Alfie was back. And Ruby hadn't attacked. And Braeden was perfectly fine. The boy blinked. Oh. So he'd been making a scene for no reason? Oops. "Quick, get the parchment," the boy whispered, as if scared Ruby might hear them. Because their plan wasn't obvious AT ALL. "Address it to 'Riley Sinclair'. Tell him a dementor got me and now I'm dying. He'll never take the note seriously if you tell him it's just Ruby that's out to get me," he explained, keeping his fingers crossed. Riley was his only hope right about now. |
Quote:
"Oh, well fine, but there's gotta be a better way to phrase it..." Alfie muttered with a small scowl, turning back to her parchment and beginning to write: Quote:
That was all true, right? Yeah, that would work.... Quote:
"There, how's that?" Alfie asked, handing over the letter to Braeden to proofread, her blue eyes darting back to Ruby hestitantly. |
Quote:
As Alfie handed the letter over to Braeden, the boy proceeded to read the rest of it. His jaw fell to the floor. "Heyyyy! I haven't fallen 34 billion times!" It was more like 33 billion… huge difference. Well, aside from that, the letter sounded pretty accurate. "Looks good," declared the Gryffindork with one of his lopsided smiles. He then folded up the parchment and pulled out his wand, tapping the letter lightly and watching as it flew off in the air, on its way to Riley Sinclair. Who would hopefully take it seriously and come rescue him because he wasn't sure Alfie could play guardian angel forever. |

Alfie and Brae Ruby watched the two out of the corner of the eye as Alfie became a human shield for Brae. She was getting very bored and the comments that were thrown at her were mostly ignored; they were acting as if she was a cold blooded murderer, which, she wasn't. She was just a school bully. So the redhead said nothing as the two went on with their business and stupid Brae sent some note to his friend to save him. Pathetic. Why did she even bother with people like this? Sighing loudly, the lioness looked wearily at the two. "You know what, Brae? You can plaster that picture all over the walls in the common and the castle as well. Go ahead and PLASTER it on your FACE. I don't really give a damn anymore!" She said, her anger building up. All in one moment, she was realizing that she had been wasting her time on this dork and for what? To show that she was stronger? Pffft. She was done. Stowing her wand back into her robes, she looked at Stonem with a last glaring look. "And don't talk to me every again, I'm so sick and tired of you. Go on and live your happy little cowardly life, I won't bother you again," She spat. She had much better things to do in life than play bully to some weakling. And with that, Ruby Blair, AKA the fiery redheaded lioness, left the scene. Goodbye, Braeden Goofball Stonem. |
Quote:
After a few moments, she glanced over at Braeden who was still slightly behind her, sitting on the floor as well. She didn't know what to say. She didn't know if Ruby often said this to him to end the fights they seemed to have regularly, or if this 'never see you again' ending was entirely new. So she merely flashed him a weak smile, remaining where she was. |
SPOILER!!: quotes! Braeden's eyes went wide as saucers when Ruby suddenly jumped up to her feet and went off on him. Now, the boy was used to her abuse. Insults, mean nicknames, fists to the nose, all kinds of physical and verbal abuse. But none of it really bothered him nearly half as much as this was bothering him. The fiery Lioness was seriously upset this time - exactly why, Braeden had no idea. Psh. If anyone should be angry here it should be him! She stepped on his already-injured toe, broke his nose only a few weeks ago, and shoved his face into the cake on his very own birthday party! But, despite it all, Braeden liked Ruby. And he didn't like seeing her so furious with him or, worse yet, deciding never to abuse him again. He was a masochist, he knew, but… for some reason he just liked Ruby's presence, even if it always came at the cost of broken bones and bruises. You'd think he'd cheer over this, hop on his good foot and celebrate that his bully was finally leaving him alone. But he was anything but happy at that moment. "Ruby, wait!" He scrambled up to his feet, but winced when his injured toe met the cold floors of the school. Ughhhhhhh. DRATTED TOE! He felt so useless like this, he couldn't even walk! "RUBY! Will you just wait one second?!" He hopped past Alfie but didn't get very far. It was kinda hard to catch up to someone walking on two feet when you only had one to work on, y'know? Gahhh. He felt terrible. He needed to get to Ruby, but he couldn't even move. With a sort of hopeless look in his face, the boy turned to Alfie who merely flashed him a weak smile. He sighed. He had to make it up to Alfie, too, he'd just kind of gotten her in the middle of this whole mess. "Sorry," he muttered. "I really need to catch up with her, though..." he trailed off for a moment, looking thoughtful. Alfie had mentioned something about getting back into Quidditch earlier... "Do you fly?" |
Quote:
Fly? "W-Well, yeah, I fly..." Alfie confirmed with a weak smile, brows furrowing just slightly as she tried to comprehend what he was getting at. "What? Do you want me to summon my broom and fly you after her?" she asked. The funny thing was this should've been a question asked with a serious face, a facial expression that might discourage the other person from actually asking the favor. But Alfie had never been one to pass up something interesting, and so her face had morphed into an expression of something resembling... excitement? "Oh! Or... Or you could just use it, I suppose you don't need me to steer," she quickly added, realizing that maybe he wanted the broom to fly himself. |
Quote:
Looking a bit awkward and ashamed, Braeden placed a hand on the back of his neck absentmindedly, then letting it run up and through his dark brown lion's mane. "We--well, yeah… something like that…" No, actually, that was exactly what he was asking. "I'd fly myself, but I don't have a broom, and…" Well, did he even need to say it? "I'm a bit clumsy," - just in case it wasn't obvious already - "and never really got the hang of flying. I prefer driving or riding a bike." He was muggleborn, and far more attached to his muggle side than his magical side, so he always chose simple muggle solutions over spells and potions. He was never any good at that stuff. |
Quote:
Been there, done that, freezing cold? REALLY? Resisting the urge to roll her dark eyes, Katie could only shake her head at him in disbelief. "You're absolutely crazy, you know that? Did it ever occur to you, before, during or after jumping in the lake that if you were lucky enough to still feel your body and manage to stay above the water, that you were practically begging to get sick?" It was an honest question, really. Her voice was quiet, not harsh or demanding as it once probably would have been. He was lucky the giant squid didn't get bored, and swallow him up. Katie blinked, pushing those thoughts away as Legend spoke again. Apparently with news. "What?" |
