Considering the fact that Brynn had barely gotten to call last year a year at Hogwarts at all, it was all the more pleasant to walk into the Great Hall and see the room decked out and buzzing with energy. When the girl had transferred into Hogwarts last term, she came at a time when much of the enthusiasm had worn off, being replaced primarily by the intense itch for summer.
Needless to say, this meant that she still had yet to make some more friends - especially some in her own house! Just as she was sliding into no seat in particular, the boy beside her called out a congratulations to all the newly-sorted Gryffindors. He sure could belt it. "Whoaa, I think I've just gone deaf in this ear," she remarked, suddenly bringing her hand beside her ear and snapping her fingers a few times. Naw, it was just some good old house pride now, wasn't it?

Jai, turned sharply at a boy who looked like he was his age and saw the prefect badge on his chest. He was a Gryffindor no doubt. He seemed really excited about the first years being selected for Gryffindor House. Jai had to admit it was exciting.

"Woah!" Tayla jumped as she heard a booming voice. She turned around and stared at the tall guy who spoke. "Who's that?" She wondered.
Awww look, it was a cute little first or second year... laughing at him... Wait, what?! Laughing?! Yeah, okay, it wasn't embarrassing at all when even the younger students were laughing at you. Poor Brae looked like the younger Gryffindor had just punched him in the face.
As the little girl offered to help him, though, the boy couldn't help but smile. "That's alright, my babysitter here is taking care of me," he said, gesturing toward the pretty blonde sitting at his other side before turning back to his plate which was now empty. He considered re-filling it, but thought better of it... He still had to eat, but he was going to have to take it slow this time.
Oh no. Not again. That "how cute" look. Chris hated that look. She tried hard not to glare, after all it had been mean to laugh, but stared defiantly back. "Sorry about laughing. You have to admit it was funny though," she said. This term, she wasn't going to back down and be a doormat for people to walk on and then forget about. One way or another, she would leave an impression.
Jai was really enjoying his first day at Hogwarts. He saw his friend Cassie he hadn't seen for a little while since their trip to Italy. The castle was awesome and everyone was really nice. Making friends would be easy for him...hopefully. He sat back watching as the first years got sorted and came to the table, being greeted by the older students.
He could feel the unity. Oh yeah, he was in the right place.
Arabella-Marie yawned slightly as she made her way to get a seat at her house table and sighed she hoped to make a few more friends this term
"Hi there! I'm Tayla," Tayla stretched her hand out, trying to hide her nervousness. She wanted to be friendly and approachable, even as a first year. "What's your name?"

"I like your name," Tayla replied. "I've actually been looking around for some friends I met on the train, but I can't seem to find them yet..."
Tayla turned to look at the staff table. Though some seemed bored and some quite intimidating, all the teachers looked interesting.
"I can't wait till classes begin," she thought. "I hope I won't regret saying that..."
Just then, she remembered the small book she found in the train. She took it out from inside her robes and opened the cover again. She saw the same green writing and the Slytherin crest.
Elizabeth Nyx Woods
Tayla's gaze fell at the Slytherin table and wondered if she should go there and look for her. She shrugged.
"Excuse me," Tayla said as she stood up, sighed, and slowly headed towards the Slytherin table. "Might as well try..."

Emma raised her eyebrow. Brae sounded so.. serious. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAA? Pet dragon? she thought and then burst out into laughter as she took a seat. Oh dear.. "Well poor pet dragon." she replied, with an amused smile on her lips. Once again the blonde Slytherin's eyebrows raised. "Did you just call me your babysitter?" she asked, feeling a little offended but she didn't really care. Did he really think of her like an older sibling? The blonde changed to a different conversation. "So how was the train ride up here?"
The blonde smiled at the young firstie and waved. "Hi, I'm Emma Malfoy. Fourth Slytherin and I guess I'm his babysitter." she said, smirking.
"Yeah, I'd like to know," said Brae with an amused smile as Emma wondered aloud where he would be without her. He knew she was just teasing him (that nudge to the shoulder sure confirmed it), but he wasn't. He really did wonder where he would end up half the time if Emma wasn't there to get him out of a tight spot with her quick thinking. Tsk tsk, Brae; already being put to shame by your younger classmates.
Braeden beamed as Emma laughed and spoke playfully about Brae's pet dragon. D'aww! She got the joke! Good. It wasn't very often that people found dorky Brae's jokes all that funny, even if he himself usually ended up on the floor rolling around. Good to know someone shared his sense of humour. "Eh, he'll be fine," said the boy with a shrug, "I'd rather your company, to be honest. At least you don't breathe fire and accidentally set my clothes on fire," he joked, a lopsided grin adorning his face. Aw shucks I'm so funny. Har har.
"Oh, it was pretty good. I was with Riley, Rod, and Theo," said Braeden, though he wasn't really sure if Emma would know any of the three characters Braeden could often be found with. "Just catching each other up on our summer break and all," he added with a shrug before turning his brown eyes back to Emma. "It felt like an eternally long ride, though… I think it must've been 'cause I was starving. The trolley didn't have much to offer. Anyway, what about you? Enjoy the ride?"
Tayla couldn't stop grinning after the Sorting Hat called out 'Gryffindor!' when it was her turn. She sat at the Gryffindor table and looked around for anyone she may have already met from the train.
"Hello there," Tayla greeted the girl next to her. "My name's Tayla. I think I've seen you on the train before."
Zara looked up to see Tayla, then smiled. Finally, someone to talk to. "Hey there Tayla. Yeah, I remember you. Congratulations on making it in Gryffindor!" Zara welcomed her.

"Oh, hello." Zara said with a blush. She felt so shy despite the welcoming and very happy aura of the girl who had just spoken to her. Her cheeks simply shouted Gryffindor all over it, it was so red.
"YO! LEGEND!" the sixteen year old grinned wider seeing the other half of his group of friends arrive. "Didn't see you at the train, mate! Where were you?" he asked, following Katie and taking a seat beside her.
All was good now. The epic feast will begin and he was with his friends - SO FAR, the year was going good, yep. Now all he had to do was nom on those delicious looking chicken legs without looking disgusting and obnoxious in front of KT.
Though Orlando's head was partially occupied with the want of chicken legs and return at Hogwarts - he still didn't miss the cold exchange between his two friends. The confusion was obvious on his face, he looked at Legend and then at KT and back at Legend again.
Orlando fought the urge to blurt out a 'WHAT'S UP!?' to them both to know the possible story his was missing here. Last he had checked, after a long saga of denials and buttheadedness - KT and Legend had gotten together. So what now?
The awkward 'Hi' KT passed made Orlando frown. Yep, he had missed an episode - which possibly had occurred during the holidays. It seemed that KT was shrinking more and more into herself - he wandered if she was planning to go under the table or something.
"What happened?" he blurted out, with a frown turning to look at them both.

He knew girls were dangerous.
"WHAT'S UP LEXI???" He purposely yelled loudly, a small smirk appearing on his face as he did it. That girl had a problem with his volume. "What happened to your face?" The words were blurted out once he realized her split lip and bruise.
SPOILER!!: Katie and Lando
No time for loud yelling now. No. Katie was here and he didn't even want to TALK to her. Not even LOOK at her. But Legend wasn't stupid. He realized that, that was childish. And he wasn't a child anymore. In a few days he'd be 17. A legal adult in the wizarding world. He couldn't act childish when it came to friendship or other important stuff.
...But that still didn't mean that he didn't want to see Katie's face.
"I was there! Hanging out with this chocolate eating third year and a firstie. And Pluto." Because Legend attracted little kids like garbage attracted flies. They just leached on to him. "How was your Summer Orlando?"
Legend faintly noticed the small Crup in Katie's arms. She hadn't given him it yet? Strange. "Hello Katie. How was your Summer?" He actually didn't know. Nor did he care. Or maybe he did care. But he just didn't care enough to see if he actually cared. Yeah..that was it. "What do you mean what happened?" His hand reached for his goblet of Pumpkin Juice, taking a slip while trying to avoid the awkward conversation. He wasn't going to tell Lando. Nope. Sure they had broken up, but this was much more than just that, and he doubted that Katie even realized it.
As if she wasn't already folding into herself (and the cruppy cradled in her arms), Kaitlynnh cringed at formal, if not emotionless tone Legend spoke to her in. Katie, he called her. The last months before summer hit it was 'Cub', after that.. nothing. She had avoided being in the same general area as him if she could help it. The night before was the first time in almost two full months she had seen him, and that was only at Alexis' request that they both had to be there at the hospital with the rest of either families.
It was sad. This was not how it was suppose to be, not how her seventh year was meant to be spent. Legend wasn't suppose to.. hate her? He hated her now, didn't he? Kaitlynnh wouldn't have doubted it, and yet she knew there was nothing she could do, nothing she could say to fix things between them. Atleast not right now. But would ignoring his question do any good? No, probably not. Though she doubted he honestly wanted to know the answer, she was also aware not saying anything probably wouldn't help the situation. Especially not with Lando sitting right next to her, looking on as confused as he currently was. Katie shrugged. "Awful." The word barely slipped through her lips, a mere mumble under the chatter of the Great Hall. Before she could force herself to return the question as normally as she could, Lando blurted out a question the Hufflepuff was somehow hoping to avoid, and Legend's response was the least helpful of all. He was better off keeping his mouth shut in that moment. Not for her, but for Lando.
A sigh escaped Kaitlynnh, raising her head a bit more, she pushed away stray strands of dark hair from her face and shifted in her seat to face the younger Gryffindor boy better. "Lando.. here," Carefully lifting the sleeping cruppy, the seventh year placed the crup puppy in his arms, "I had this whole little speech in mind but.. it's gone now, and doesn't seem so important either. Legend and I decided at the end of last term that you were going to need something to keep you busy with us gone next year, so we got you a cruppy."

I love you all,
Class dismissed.
After being sorted, Elle headed for the Gryffindor table. But midway remembered all the new friends she had made had been sorted into different houses. She looked up & down the table trying to find an empty spot...
Lexi didn't shout or pop off or cringe at Legend... she simply sighed and looked at him for a moment before responding. "I got hit. And how was your holiday?" she said. No need to go into too much detail here. Not at all.
Rufus held onto Lexi's hair and bent his little face down and kissed her forehead. Hehehe. Lexi petted his little head and set him to chattering a bit. He was the best company she had had in a while. Jim Wilkes was the best friend she could ask for. He gave up his monkey for a friend in need.
Patroclus. Shouting. Heheh. Lexi looked toward the sound and waved wildly at him. "How was the rest of your holiday, Patroclus?" she said loud enough for him to hear, she hoped...
She then cast a glance around, ugly bruised face and all... there were a LOT of new lion cublets. More for her to watch out for and take under her wing. That made her happier... gave her a reason to be there.
Tayla's face was pink with embarrassment as she sat back in the Gryffindor table. She kept Elizabeth's (whoever that Slytherin girl was) small book back in her robes and hoped she could return it somehow without making a fool of herself. She took a quick glance at the Slytherin table. A couple students seemed to be chuckling at her, but otherwise, it was like she never came over there.
"It's better to be ignored than teased at least..." she thought to herself miserably. "Oh why did I have to pick up this book?"

Lexi saw the girl smile and she did her best to smile back without hurting her face too much. "Hi, Tayla. I'm Lexi Denver. Welcome to Gryffindor, kiddo! You'll love it here. How has your first little while here been going?" she asked sweetly.
Rufus was interested in the little lion. He blew raspberries at her and bounced and chattered and pointed and such. Twas what he loved to do perched upon his new master's shoulder. Hehe.

"Thanks! It's been great actually," Tayla smiled, then suddenly remembered she heard someone call her back at the Slytherin table. Maybe it was that Elizabeth girl who lost her book! "Hey...erm...I'm looking for someone, a Slytherin girl named Elizabeth Woods. I think I better go back to their table first. I need to return something."
Tayla excused herself and hoped Lexi would still be there when she got back.
Tayla smiled again however, as a nice girl greeted her cheerfully. "Thank you!" she said hurriedly, realizing the girl congratulated her. "It's great to be here."
"It sure is." Zara agreed. She was about to say more, but nothing else came out of her mouth.

Looking at the girl, Patroclus swore he knew her face, "You were new last year, yeah?" he asked, happy to have someone to chat to.....and speaking of Chat, YUM ChatPotatoes!
Heaving a large spoonful of roast potatoes onto his plate, the Prefect turned to the Girl, "Patroclus Hudson!"Cue hand shake!

It seemed Patroclus' house proud yelling had turned some heads! Smiling at the other guy and also an ickle first year, the Sixth year waved, "Hey Guys I am Patroclus your Male Lion Prefect! So if you need anything, anytime, just come find me!" The both faces were knew, the boy obviously a transfer and maybe around his own age, but the girl had that first year look!

Ginny couldn't believe it. She had actually been sorted into Gryffindor! Her own mother had been in this house, and her mother was braver than anyone she knew.
Although a small thought kept prodding out in Ginny's mind - she wasn't brave. She had barely held up a conversation with the nice girl on the train, and she had yet to find any new friends. How was she brave?
The thoughts seemed to soar from her brain as she looked at the long, brooding Gryffindor table.
But where to sit??
" You seem to be lost like me" William told the girl. " I wanted to know if I could sit with you" William said to the girl. " Of course, I am at a disadvantage because you are such a cute girl and I am memerized by red hair" "William explained to the girl. " My name is William Montcenaggio, but please call me J.J. Starr.

She teaches divination which just so happens to be my favorite subject, next to care of magical creatures." Nika was hopeless at all sorts of magic. Yet she seemed to do a decent job in divination. At least on the hands on prediction stuff, the questions she'd just try and guess.
"Then there is Dragon Lady, I mean Professor Lafay." Oh the wonderful nickname. "She's the potions professor and slytherin head of house. I try my best to steer clear of her. She's very strict and gets irritated easily." Don't forget straight up mean . "Most kids are afraid of her, but I bet she can be a normal person outside of class... maybe. Although I wouldn't be surprised if she actually did breathe fire."
Nika saw a confused looking little Gryffie wandering around the table. Oh another mission for the new Hogwarts welcoming committee. Well, okay it's not an official group, but after all of the introductions Nika had gone through today she sure felt like she should be apart of it. She waved to the girl and gestured for her to come near.

Well that was quick. Was she so HIDEOUS that no one wanted to be near her for too long? Geez. "Glad to meet you," she said to the girl's retreating back.

Pat's good nature was contagious really. Typically she would be chattering and such, but she felt a bit more subdued tonight. Laughing she waved a bit more and chuckled. "So glad to hear it! Please send my love to Pollux and Pandora. They are just so lovely. I am so glad your holiday was great."
OH GEEZ! Lexi's unbruised cheek flared BRIGHT red. Hehe. "My holidau was lovely, thank you very much, we explored every inch of Santorini and soaked up a lot of sun... as you can tell by this lovely tan," she said striking a little pose. And yes... there was a LOT Patroclus did not want to know hahaha.
Nika skipped down to the great hall with a smile on her face. She could just tell that this is going to be a wonderful year. She hummed a cheerful tune and waved at a few students passing by. Looking around the table she noticed that she was one of the first people to get there. "Heyyy Gryffies!" AH, it's nice to be back.
Emily was sitting on her own eating. No-one on the train. No-one here. Wow she flet lonely. Where was everyone? Stiring her soup she sat with a rather sad face.
Then. Was that..? "NIKA!" she pratically screamed down the table at her best friend. No way was she letting her get away.
Did you just lose something? The GAME? Sorry... 'Justin Bieber, he is the man!' U mad, Felton!?
OMGosh Rose had been sorted into Gryffindor! She went to sit with her friends, but felt sad that Ember wasn't in Gryffindor too! 'Hi, I'm Rose!' She said as she sat down.
