It was probably because she was always the one who had payed compliments, not recieved them. She was the moral support in her group of friends and she never expressed the need for much help. "Um, thanks. But, ugh, I'm not that good. I'm just average and stuff. I work hard so that maybe one day I'll be really good."
Her lips pierced in the silence. She had never really liked to talk about family. Sure she had found a lot of family in her house mates and friend's, but they were not truly her family. They were her friend-family, not her blood-family. It would have been nice to have not been so lonely growing up. Then again if she was not an only child she never would have learned her three languages, learned to play the flute, play Quidditch, any of what made her special, "Yeah... growing up through without a family is rough. Sure I have my friends, but I would have liked to have had someone around who was, well, my sibling." | "Then, I'll be sure to watch out until you become the best-and i'll be cheering for you." Heather really meant it. She wanted to see that everyone meet their goals-it's what makes them happy, and seeing them happy makes her happy, and as she supports them in some small way or some big way to reach those goals, she had become a part of it, big or small.
And Selina wished for a sibling. She sympathized with Selina's wishes. "It's hard, having to wish for a real sibling." she said, remembering her situation. "I mean...i have an older sister...but...she's not really...she's adopted...and i love her all the same...but...before she was adopted...I... I'm supposed to be...an older sister as well..but..." she sighed, remembering her unborn sister, Emily. She felt sad, but realizing she was talking to someone, brushed off those thoughts. There was no use in talking about such heavy things with someone she had just met and is talking in a rather nice mood with-it might just ruin things...
and she was quite not ready to talk about Emily with Selina yet. Kurumi knows...but they've not brought that topic up again since it was quite sensitive to Heather.
"Oh..uhm..I'm sorry Selina...I might have been..a-a little too d-d-dramatic..." her cheeks blushed red at that. |
