She took a seat by the fire and dropped the books on the floor next to her. Phew. Picking up the top one she turned to the first page. Reading by the fire. Boy this was heaven! She glanced up and noticed a girl by the fire... making a cork necklace? Alright... She smiled over to her. "Nice neaklace!" she commented, Not really her taste of jewelry but they were... unusual. |

" I am sure you will do fine with dancing" William explained to Rose. "What type of dance first?" William asked Rose. |

"Thanks." he said again with a smile as William complimented him. Perhaps he needed to keep the boy around. One could never tire of being called 'great' all the time. His smile momentarily faded as William mentioned his cousin. Carter remembered Rex. He once missed a game because Rex blamed something Marie did on him. "Yeah. I knew both of them. Jason was a good guy. We played on the same team when Gryffindor won the championship." "You did great too. I hope to see you one day on the pitch in quidditch robes." he said ruffling the boy's hair again. Carter then smiled at the first year. "You know... I'm a muggle-born. I'm not sure what it's like to have a lot of people in my family going to the same school - let alone all be in the same house... but it must be hard to always be compared to them. I'm not saying that you shouldn't look up to them or anything, but you shouldn't try to be them. Things are much more rewarding when you make a name for yourself and not care what everyone else thinks." "Plus, it's A LOT more fun trying new things and finding out what you like." he added with a smirk. |
"Oooh.. I'm so sorry.. I shouldn't have brought it up.." Janet said. Poor Evie. "Well, I did sign up for quidditch" she said, hoping it would change the subject." But I can't attend all the practices ! They won't fit my schedule !". She was so dissapointed. She loved quidditch, but it was a side activity. besides, lots of people signed up. But she suddenly realized something."err.. Evie, I think quidditch sign ups are over.." "Oh, really... are they over, well damn maybe i can try again next year."replied Evie. "probably wouldn't have gotten a spot anyway, there would've been to many people signing up besides it probably wouldn't have fit my schedule either." said Evie. "So, Janet whats your family like do you have any siblings or are you an only child like me?" asked Evie. |

Anyone ? Anthology of Eighteenth Century Charms was actually interesting, thought Sarah as she turned page 123. She had been spending a lot of time reading books. Spotted everywhere she goes, with a book in her hand. Getting used to places takes a lot of time, and the best solution I have is, books! she thought smiling slyly. As she was reading with interest, her bag slipped and fell with a loud "Thud!". She jumped from her seat with a shrill scream. The weight of the bag was so large that the sound was so intense. All her books, Basic Hexes for the Busy and Vexed, Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration, Ancient Runes Made Easy and her favourite book Curses and Counter-curses had met with a tear, papers flew from it. She picked up the books with embarrassment and hurry, dropping some due to tension. She had been reading second year books, and she didn't want anyone to know that. Possibly, it didn't fall on anyone? she thought. She stood up and said, "Sorry" to the people near by. |

Trying to change the subject she asked, "Have you ever had an out of this world experience in Hogwarts?" |

She put her wand back in her pocket then went over to the girl. She coudn't be much younger than her. "Here." she said collecting some of the books and passing them to her. She glanced at the titles of each one as she passed them, then stood up and smiled at the girl. "So I see you like to read then?" With that many books she had to. Like her! |

She brushed some of the hair from her eyes then remembered something. "I'm Emily by the way." she added holding out her hand. Where were her manners? |

"Oh, did you go to a muggle school?" She had, but she didn't like to talk about it. Those had been the worst days of her life. "A first year. Cool. I'm in second year. I thought you coudn't be any older than me." she noticed Sarah tried to cover her books. Why would she do that? "You read high for your year." she commented giving her a smile. There was nothing to be nervous about! "It's ok you know. I'm only in second year and I've read third and fourth year books. My sister's given me all her old ones. It's really useful, 'cause you know spells and information before anyone else in your year!" If you enjoy reading it shoudn't matter what you read. And she liked the feeling of being smart. It made a change than when she was back at her house. |
