Never had Mia thought she would meet someone in her life who found the lesson, history of magic, interesting, and here, standing right in front of her, was someone who had just said that. The word history and the word interesting together just doesn't make sense to Mia. Recovering from her shock, she answered, "I never really explored the castle, the only place I've been to at Hogwarts is the Ravenclaw common room, the great hall, and the classrooms."

Listening to Mia's last reply, Gwen looked puzzled. What? I wanted to explore the castle evr since I got my acceptance letter., she wanted to say, but decided not to. Be nice, Gwen, for once in your life- be nice!, she kept telling herself.

'Then you HAVE TO come with me sometime...', the girl said. How about...NOW?, she wanted to add, but instead, Gwen asked her : 'Do you have anything to do now...I mean, are you busy?'

It was late at night and Louisa wasn't feeling tired at all. She just lied in her bed staring at the ceiling for two hours. You might think that she was thinking about a difficult homework or a crush she had but no. Something else was busying her mind and she had the evidence between her hands.

A medium sized vial with pink sparkly liquid inside. She made sure to remove the title and kept it hidden away from everybody. Especially Enya.

Louisa sighed exaggeratedly and sat up crossing her legs and staring down and the vial, it was dangerous to use it but she wanted to feel it. To know what it was like to be loved. Blindly loved. No matter what the consequences were, she could undo the effects once she did the experiment. No one has to know.

Vashti was trying to get to sleep - trying being the key word. She had been trying to sleep every night for the past few weeks, but for some reason she couldn't go to sleep very easily anymore. It was like she couldn't shut her brain down; every time she was about to drift off, another thought popped into her mind, always about the same thing. It just wouldn't leave her alone.

Finally, she gave up. She sat up, rubbed her tired eyes, and looked around, thinking that she might as well try to do some homework, when she spotted someone else sitting up in bed. So she wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep apparently. She was going to ignore the person though and move on with her homework plan but suddenly realized who the girl was.

"Louisa," she said in a whisper that was hopefully loud enough for her friend to hear. "What're you doing up?"

"No, I'm not busy. I finished all my homework," Mia replied. "Did you explore the castle? I wanted to, but I don't want to explore it alone."

'I did, I explored it, but it is HUGE, there is so much left to see.', Gwen explained to Mia. Truth was, she had seen a lot of it, but she wanted to be nice to the other girl. It won't hurt seeing the same things again.

Gwen stood up fast and asked her new friend :'What would you prefer? Shall we start with the castle, or with the grounds? It's up to you...'.

Louisa inhaled sharply suppressing a gasp when someone talked, and even in Hogwarts sounds in the middle of the night are no good sign. "Vashti! You startled me.." She sighed slowly hiding the vial under the blanket. "Me? Nothing. I just couldn't sleep. You know a lot of stuff on my mind." She chuckled nervously. Did she see it? If she did, Louisa was sure a big lecture was coming and she was no mood for that. Not about this huge thing.

"What about you?" She twisted the questions, this way Vashti might just talk about something else. Like her own emotional problems? Please?
The girl's hands shifted slowly under the cover to the side and she placed the small bottle under one pillow Louisa used to cuddle in sleep. Vashti wasn't about to search her or anything so this place was perfect. Ahem.

"The grounds is fine," Mia replied.She needed some fresh air anyway. Grabbing her coat, scarf, and wand, she said to Gwen:"You should grab a coat. It's chilli outside."

'Yeah-yeah...', Gwen said and grabed her couat, plus her Ravenclaw house scarf. Not because it would be that cold, just that she was too proud of her house and wanted to show it.

'Let's go then', she said and got out of the dormitory. I hope she can keep up with me, the girl thought as she rushed on the corridors.

Cleo ran into the common room,Rose would kill her if she was late!she picked up her books and ran back out again

Presley trudged into the dormitory, thouroughly exhausted. This had been a tough day all around. Rose, William, Presley, classes...She flopped down on her bed, and pulled out the letter that was tucked inside her school bag. She'd recieved it just a moment ago, and hadn't opened it yet. Presley laid the letter on her pillow, and changed into her jammies. They were so soft and cozy that Pres could fall asleep right now...No. She had to read that letter. It was important. Sitting down and crossing her legs Presley opened up the envelope, and began to read.
Presley grinned. She had the best older brother in the world. She could go!!! Where was Luna when Presley needed to talk to her? No longer tired, Presley decided that she would do some yoga while she waited for Luna. The girl had to sleep sometime, right? leaving her letter lying on her bed, Presley took an hour and worked herself into exhaustion again. She laid on the floor in savasana, and fell asleep.

Rachel walked into the Dorm, she flung herself down on her bed and found the letter she had just got from her Dad, she sat up and egerly opened it, it read:

Dear Rachel,
Yes of course you can go, but not until after the funeral,

she stopped suddenly, funeral?! Who had died? Rachel took a deep breath and continued reading,

your mother has died. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but I felt it best. The funeral is in the next holidays so that you can be there, I'm so sorry that you didn't get to say goodbye, but I read her every one of your letters. She was on a heart machiene in hospital, and then we decided to turn it off as she was in so much pain. When we all have recovered, then your friends can come over,

Dad xxx

There was a smuge over the words, but Rachel could read it all the same. Rachel burst in to a flow of silent tears, she dropped the letter and began to sob on to her pillow, the worst thing was, that her father had not told her sooner, and that they turned of the machiene too! Rachel fell in to a sleep crying.

Presley slowly woke, to find herself on the floor of all places. Why was she there? Oh, right, yoga. She must have fallen asleep. Before she got around to wondering why she'd wooken up, Pres headr crying from the bed next to her. Rachel? Rachel?" she asked blearily. "What's wrong?" Perhaps her mum was worse...or maybe she'd been told she couldn't go with Luna and Presley. Now that she thought about it, Presley really ought to invite the two of them to her place. They'd gone to the bahamas with her family, but had never been to Presley's house. Rachel was asleep, crying. "Rach!" Presley said a little louder. "Bad dream?"

Luna walked into the girls dormitry to find Presley on the floor and Rachel looking quite upset ''Emm'' said Luna as she got into her bed ''What happend'' then Luna looked quite conserned

Who was speaking? Presley strained her eyes to see in the dark. Luna! Thank merlin for someone who could tell her what was happening. "Luna, do you know what's wrong with Rachel? She didn't answer me, I think she might be having a nightmare again." Presley sat up and pulled her blanket from her bed and wrapped it around her. It was freezing in here!

''No I didn't see her since the owlery'' said Luna ''Rachel!'' said Luna looking at her

Presley looked at Luna, and shrugged. Then she noticed that Rachel's letter was on the floor. This muct be what she's crying about! Presley realized. She didn't know if it was overstepping her bounds as a friend, but Rachel hadn't woken yet, and she was still crying, so Presley gently picked up the parchment from the floor. "Should I read it? Or do you think she would be mad?" Presley asked Luna, not yet unfolding the letter.

Luna eyed the letter ''I'm not sure'' Luna shrugged a little ''Well, I suppose she's going to tell us when she wakes up, Your choice'' Luna did want to know what was making Rachel upset Luna was wondering 'Oh no what if it's from her father telling her that she couldn't go to my house' Luna thought to herself 'Or maybe her mother is even more ill ' Luna thought to her self again ''What do you suppose it says..'' said Luna slowly instead of saying lets open it half of her wanted to know what was wrong with Rachel but another half thought that Rachel was going to tell her and Presley what the letter said when she woke up

Rachel woke up and dried her eyes, she looked up to see Presley and Luna standing above her, "H-hello," she managed, she ought to tell them what had happened, "Its-its, my m-m-mum!" she said, "Read the letter." she said to them.

''Are you okay Rachel'' Then Luna sat on Rachel's bed Luna looked at the letter Presley had it in her hand Luna then patted on the bed what she meant was for Presley to sit down

Rachel nodded, she hoped that they would understand what had happened, she watched them sit down and get ready to read the letter.

Presley sat down on Rachel's bed next to Luna and opened up the letter. Tilting it slightly so that Luna could see it Presley read it all the way through. "Oh, Rachel!" she gasped when she finished. She didn't know what else to say. PResley remembered the things people had said to her when her mum died, but not a single one of them had been helpful. Except for Leo. "We'll get through this," he'd said. But somehow in this situation, it didn't seem appropriate.

Vashti noticed Louisa move her hand quickly under her blanket and wondered briefly what she was doing, but for now, she didn't worry about it. "Sorry," she said softly. "Didn't mean to scare you." She thought the girl would've seen her move, what with the moonlight streaming through the window, but perhaps she simply hadn't been looking.

Or perhaps she'd been too deep in thought. Vashti wasn't the only one with a lot on her mind, as Louisa's reply told her. "Same," she answered. "Makes me wish I had an off button for my brain." It would be so nice to just not think or worry about anything for once. Life would be a lot easier, she imagined.

Luna was looking in when Presley was reading when she was done she didn't know what to say it it was awfull horrible ''Oh i'm so sorry Rachel!'' said Luna she looked at Presley for a secand and then to Rachel and realised how lucky she was to have her mother!

Uh Oh. Vashti looked at the blanket for a second... did she see that? Gulp. The last thing she wanted was another lecture from her. She already knew her plans of Knockturn Alley, no need to make things worse. "Yeah a button would do." She paused for a moment before an idea struck her, "Isn't there a potion that would do that?" Her shifty eyes met Vashti's. That wasn't mischievous, was it? "Do you want to look for the ingredients and make one?" She asked excitedly careful not to wake the other girls.
