"Thanks," she smiled. Walnut meow. She was feeling neglected since the two had started talking more serious things. Kurumi scratched her behind the ears to appease her. "I used to think that my mother hated magic so much because it made my brothers and I...stand out even more." She wondered if Edmond had ever experience bullying in his past. From the other pureblood people she had known, they all seemed to have lead a life of luxury and bliss.

"Well, of course magic makes you stand out even more to muggles," Edmond said, "but that's because you were given a gift or talent since birth." it went something like that. His mother had once explained that magical beings were giving something extra in life. "But, don't worry, not every family is perfect, trust me." he said, well meaning his own family. They were mostly driven by ambitions and Galleons. Stupid.

Kurumi nodded. "For my brothers and me it made things tougher," she explained looking up at the sky. "We were already half Japanese - something that is frowned upon in my small town - so my mother was always worried about how people viewed us. Throw us being witches and wizards...she couldn't handle it at times." She looked back at him. "Sometimes, after I found out I was a witch, I would go to a local shrine and pray to the gods that they would take away my magic. I wanted my mother to be happy."

Edmond felt as if lead had fallen in his stomach. Everything Kurumi was telling was just so...so messed up. He thought muggles were nice. That the muggle world was better than his world. There were even times when he wished he was born a muggle-born. Now, that was what probably landed him in Gryffindor, damn it. "Kurumi...I..." he was speechless. What could he tell her; ignore your mum? That wasn't right, either. "You know...things happen, but they always happen for a reason." it was something he greatly believed in, "And maybe this thing with your mother is happening because it's preparing you for the future." he said.

"You're really nice, you know that?" She smiled as Walnut began to purr. "I've only ever shared stories about my past with Adam - and most if it isn't happy. I was bullied a lot and nothing I did was ever good enough." For some reason, she felt stronger this time around talking about her hardships. "But, it's like you said. Things happen for a reason. I wouldn't be who I am not if it wasn't for everything that happened." She paused for a moment to look Edmond straight in the eyes. "Same way you were sorted into Gryffindor." Kurumi understood Edmond had had a rough upbringing because of his parents - or at least his father from the way he was talking. Now was the time for both of them to stand on their own two feet and look forward...while looking back sometimes.

Cameron wandered down to the Courtyard, wanting both fresh air and a break from her homework - and the student body. That rumour had caused her to argue with Oliver.. again. All that distance makes the heart grow fonder chit was.. essentially.. lies. Everytime they saw each other they faught. It was just so stupid.

Kicking aimlessly at a pebble, she sat down beside a column and sighed. This year wasn't turning out so good, so far.

"Thanks." Ed smiled shyly. He wasn't good with compliments, but he was getting used to it. "I know how that feels." Ed chuckled without any humor. He knew first hand how it felt to be bullied. Especially when it was three, huge guys against one. Ed was glad that he had helped in some way. Kurumi seemed like a really down to earth person and deserved better. Edmond nodded when she looked straight into his eyes. He was sorted into Gryffindor for a reason. It might feel like a useless reason at the moment, but maybe in time it'll change...and maybe he would one day accept the fact that he's in Gryffindor and not in Slytherin.

Callie stood still. Last time she'd been here Fletcher had come and scared her. She looked around, nope he wasn't round here atleast she'd be prepared if he came to scare her this time. She spotted a blonde firstie and smirked. Walking over she stood infront of the girl and smirked. "Hiding cus you know im better than you Court ?"

Nervous... much? Evan looked at her wonderingly. So he was four years older than her. Alright. He didn't mind age difference that much as long as she behaved. Shrugging, he went on with listening to her. Ah, another American person. He chuckled to himself. That continent was apparently very popular. Fallon, Aaron, Alex guy and now Brittany. Maybe he should pay a visit too... keeping up with the new trend, y'know.

"Why did you leave your hou--" he was asking, when he glanced at his watch again. Wow. It was almost dinner time. Looking at her apologetically, he said "I have to leave now... I gotta write a letter." With that, he waved and left towards the castle, hurrying. He just had to write it in the dorms quickly if it was to be sent today.

Courtney looked up at Callie. She cocked an eyebrow. "I'm not hiding and I'm not looking for a fight. I'm minding my own business so don't start" she told her. Seriously? Callie needed to get a life. She was so annoying. And now she was picking a fight over nothing. Courtney had just got there and was sat on a bench away from Callie and now she was the one being mean. She needed to leave her alone.

Callie laughed. She'd gotten over the whole Courtney calling her a mudblood because Jack had been nice to her and Jack was her bestie so he just over ruled Courtney in anything he said. "I didnt say I was looking for a fight either. And starting. Hunny, Im not starting anything you bought this on yourself." Maybe not this time, but Callie wasn't done the last time she'd seen the firstie so yeah she'd bought it on herself.

Courtney rolled her eyes. What had she done wrong now? Courtney was just being herself. And now Callie was being mean over nothing. It was pathetic. "I haven't done anything so how have I bought it on myself. Just leave me alone and get over it" she said. Callie needed to learn when to give up. She wasn't winning and she wasn't going to get to her.

Callie looked away from the girl because other people needed to see her prettiness too. She looked back as Courtney spoke. Hadn't done anything ?! PFT. "Yeah cause you so didn't call me a mudblood and you didn't insult me repeatedly. And you didn't lie." when she'd said she was better than Callie, yeah Callie thought that was a lie. She was older and therefore better.

Courtney shook her head. Ok seriously, that happened over a week ago. Did she not know how to let the past go? "Yeah you may wanna think about living in the present not in the past darlin'. I didn't lie. And you started it and excuse me, I was calling Enya a mudblood not you. You just stook your nose in something that had nothing to do with you so grow up, get a life, stick to your normal tactics and stop trying to pick a fight when I'm not doing anything" she replied.

Pam walked down, as the snow started to fall. She looked up at the grey clouds. She loved the snow. She didn't like being cold, but she did love the snow.

As she was walking, she saw a girl by a colomn. Pam couldn't quite shake the feeling that this girl needed a friend. Must be her healing power thing-y. Well, whatever the feeling was, she wasn't going to shake it off (ooc: what a surprise).

She walked over to the colomn, leaned down and gave the girl a hug.

"You were bullied too?" Somehow, despite her previous thought process, this surprised her.


time slip to Cam
Kurumi was enjoying the sun with her cat when she saw a small pebble go flying through the air past her face. As if that wasn't enough to get her attention, she heard a loud sigh coming from her right. She looked over to see her favoritest prefect looking like they could really use a cookie. Jumping off her pillar, Kurumi approached Cam holding a small box of cookies and her kitty weaving in and out between her legs. "Hi," she smiled.

There really was never a moment of alone-time at Hogwarts. You were either dealing with crazy firstyears who were ripping each other's hair out.. or you were being hugged by them..

Weird.

And Cam wasn't really a fan of hugs.

"Oh.. er.. hello?" She told her, eyebrows raising in suprise. Well.. the tot was certainly.. friendly.

She shivered a little - WHY was it snowing!?! Cam hated the cold - with an intense loathing.

Wait a minute.. she knew this little girl. "I've seen you before!" She exclaimed with a broad smile. "I met you in the Owl shop!" She dropped her books and other stuff happened. Heh! What a small world..


And someone ELSE she knew. "Rumi!" Cam greeted with a smile, looking from the little Ravenclaw to the little Gryffindor. She wasn't going to dredge up her problems. No sireeeeee.
"Hello sweets, how're you doing?" She asked, taking a cookie.

THe chikka made hella good cookies.

"Not much," she smiled and Walnut meowed. "Just wanted to enjoy this nice weather. This is my cat, Walnut." She gestured to the stubby-legged cat who was now staring up at Cam with great interest.

Cats. Cameron didn't particularly like cats, but she smiled.

Oh.. hello Walnut.. *gulp*

"Nice weather?" She asked. Cam didn't like Autumn. It always meant Winter was closer and she DESPISED the cold.

"Walnut.. what an interesting name.." She told her weakly. It wasn't going to claw her face off, was it?
"Do you just really like Walnuts?" Cam asked with a laugh.

Kurumi laughed. "They're OK, I guess. Taste good in cookies." She took a seat next to Cam and Walnut jumped on her lap. "My name, Kurumi, actually means chestnut in English so...I thought giving my cat a matching name sounded like a good idea." She scratched Walnut behind the ears and the cat purred.

Walnut looked at Cam again and jumped onto her lap. Standing on her hind legs and using the front ones for balance, Walnut tried to get a good sniff of Cam's face.

"Oh yea! Hi. How are things?" she smiled and sat down next to her.

Fee giggled at Kita's eagerness.
"Yeah those are good reason for being a first year", Fee laughed,"being older has also some advantages."

Talk about painting your nails.
"We still need to paint our nails together",she smiled,"today mine are red."

Fee shook her head.
"You know, sometimes you are just stupid", she said," just believe me pretty lady."

She giggled at Kita's excitment of the dress.
"Its really beautiful, reaches to a little over my knee and most of all its pink", she giggled,"i think i am going to wear at christmas."

The holidays were so near.
"I can hardly believe that its nearly holiday time", Fee told her bestie,"time passes sooo quickly."

It was totally true, she felt like she had just begun with all about Hogwarts and now the holidays were nearly there. Fee was really excited about spending time with Kita at the castle. That would be sooo funny and with all the snow out there they could habe huge snowball fights.

" I am definitely not going to the ball", she said," i got a boyfriend now. And thats much more worth than on evening fun cause with him everyday is fun."

Why did she have to be so cheesy all the time when she talked about Edmond?!

Fee had thought the exact same thing as Monique had looked at her strangly.What was wrong about Fee? The french girl was like so much older than Fee. No need to stare.

"Thats what i though,too", Fee laughed,"she probably has a crush on our prefect and thats why she stared at me for interrupting her flirt session."

Being crazy was like breathing to Fee. She just liked to enjoy her life as much as she could. Wherever and Whenever.
"Thats so true, we were born crazy", she chuckled,"who can blame us?! We are just enjoying ourselves to the fullest."

Fee still needed to convince some teacher to be cooler. History of magic was just boring along with muggle studies and potions... Gosssh Lafay was scary.

"Some subjects are just unnecessairy", she told her bestie,"like history of magic or muggle studies."

Fee nodded her head as Kita spoke of boys.
"Yeees, like they want to try which girl is the hottest and so on", she added,"but it doenst work that way."

The world really was somewhat complicated sometimes. It was like it had his own mind.

"True, a happy world would be so much better for everyone. I dont get why it isnt like that."

Oh yes, Adam. Hadnt Fee told Kita already that,that had no meaning anymore? Oh.

"Well, i cant care of that anymore", she said smiling widely,"my heart belongs to the most perfect guy on earth now. Edmond."
She couldnt tell how happy she was about that, everything seemed like a dream.
"I am insanly happy to have him, even though some people are causing massiv drama."

Fee laughed along with Kita.
"Little miss pretty? That would be you then."
Fee couldnt believe that Kita didnt see how pretty she was.Fee would tell her over and over again.

"I hope you remember that when you are lonely. hun", she smiled sweetly,"cause then i'll be there."

Edmond gave out a dry chuckle, "Yeah," he frowned a bit at the memories. "My cousins thought it was funny," he shook his head, it had definately NOT been fun for him. "They once threw me into a frozen lake and thought it was a great way for me to learn how to swim." Ed remembered exactly what the ice cold water felt when it touched his skin.

Kurumi frowned. At least she had never been thrown into a lake by members of her own family. They were the only ones who helped her through everything she endured at school. "That's terrible..." she whispered clutching her skirt. "My family, even my mother despite her hating magic, were always supportive and tried to help me when I was bullied. I'd have people take my shoes every day and hide them or throw them off the roof of the school..." Despite already sharing this information with Adam, it was still really difficult to open up. Kurumi swallowed down a few tears.

Even if worst things were done to him by his own family members, Edmond couldn't help but think that Kurumi had it worse. She was a smart and nice person that clearlly didn't deserve any of that. "This shouldn't be happening to you." Ed said, patting her gently on her back. "You're too nice, but like they say," Ed didn't know who came up with it, "Good things happen to good people." it went something like that.
