| | | Library Bookshelves A great number of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves fill the library, creating rows and aisles of books available for students to read and check out. When returning books to the higher shelves, just hold up the tome and the shelves will take care of the rest; there's a spell on the shelves which summons the returned book to the correct place. Of course, when retrieving a book, they don't 'know' what you're looking for, so those who aren't yet accomplished in the use of the Summoning Charm may use one of the sliding ladders that move around from bookcase to bookcase.
In front of each set of shelves is a small desk. Students can sit at these desks to complete homework or copy down notes and book references. Be aware that other students may need to access books above you… so mind your head.
You can find any book here that's appropriate for all school years, so browse to your heart's content. (ooc :: You are welcome to RP socializing here. This is a chat thread especially for fun RPing) |

Well, maybe not that dramatic. "Were you expecting someone else?" he asked, and almost almost chuckled. Fletch boy was eying him funny, and he could see his mind at work. He was thinking. Fletch boy was thinking.
Treyen didn't like that.
Oh, no! The book! He was keeping the book so Treyen wouldn't be able to take it away. Silly tall boys. One day the kid will be as tall as his father and they'll see. Maybe that day can come closer? Please?
He narrowed his eyes, "It's obvious you were first, but it's an emergency" and since Fletcher was only in the market for adquiring Nifflers, then there was no emergency there, was it? "I need it, Sir Fletcher" yeah, the little kid didn't like him at all, AT ALL! "The new Care of Magical Creatures Professor won't let me take care of Phineas if I don't find out a couple things first" seeeeeee, emergency! "Hmm no, you'll work just fine," Fletcher smirked, his eyes grazing up and down little Lockhart's little frame. Wasn't he just cute. Like a miniature little human --- so what if he wasn't thaaat short --- he was still a kid.
So wait. Why did he need the book? "Whoa whoa whoa, calm down, kid." Fletcher actually reached out and patted him on the head. Heh. Hopefully he wouldn't get kicked for that one. "Who's Phineas? I mean, if there's an emergency shouldn't you be consulting like... a person... instead of a book?" Because obviously people were much quicker to get information from.

Was he giving him the book or not?
Actually, it was no real emergency, he just didn't know for how long Fletch boy over here was going to keep the book...probably a long time considering his vast knowledge on history.
He was almost tapping his foot on the floor, but the floor didn't deserve that.
His face, however, relaxed quite a bit. And he eyed the boy, "Okay..." he started to say, breathing in and out first, "...let me explain, it's not a real emergency for Phineas, my Niffler..." he nodded, "...he was my creature last term, the one Professor Lawson told us to take care of?" he sort of asked, in case Duncan forgot about it, "My words got me in trouble with the new Professor, and since I couldn't answer what was in Phineas special food, then she told me to find out if I ever wanted to see Phineas again" he sounded very shaken about that.
Poor Phineas! Losing the pretty little boy over here. Poor Niffler.
Treyen eyed the book, "I can't go to a person, because the only who'd know would be her" Professor Saylen. Treyen didn't like her either.
But...oooh....maybe their Head of House would know? He has a dog.

Big word for him. He was quite proud and almost didn't notice her calling him 'good looking.' Bow chicka wow wow. Fletcher still wasn't quite used to hearing that.... though of course, now that he thought about it, it did make perfect sense.
"I know what you meant though," he nodded, tucking his niffler book under one arm. "It would take me a whole term to get through one of these... and that's if I didn't fall asleep every time I read it...."
Yeah he was no Professor Mehluhnie, that was for sure. "Well no... see," Fletcher shuffled slightly. "I'm er... in the process of acquiring a niffler." He coughed and tried not to look so shifty. "I always wanted one," he added in a smaller voice. What? They were cute and fluffy and COULD FIND BURIED TREASURE!!!!!! What wasn't to like about a niffler?
"Savannah," he repeated, gently taking her hand and giving it a polite shake. "That's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I'm Fletcher, just Fletcher." He held on to her hand a moment longer than necessary and then let go.
That meant like he couldn't read right? USE CLUES, CONRAD. Yeah, that's what it probably meant. She was going to ask but decided against it, she didn't want to sound even MORE stupid. The blonde watched as he kept looking at the book about the little mouse like things that could apparently find buried treasure? Well, wasn't THAT nifty. "Well, I hope getting a niffler works out for you even though i DOUBT they will help you find buried treasure."Savannah said with a light shrug of her shoulders. "It's cute though, really it is."Savvy said while smiling at him. She was being honest right there, it was cute. Any guy wanting a fuzzy animal was cute in her eyes. Now, if a guy wanted a pink pygmy puff, she would have been worried.
Fletcher? JUST Fletcher?
Savvy tilted her head to the side, a grin spreading on her face. "JUST Fletcher, hmmm? You go by your last name or something?"She said, standing up and looking down at him. "Cause I think Fletcher would be a rather bizarre first name."She said, looking at him. Whatever floated people's boat though. *shrug* Quote:

Maybe she'd think he was some sort of duke or something. Or just plain rich. Yeahhhh and he could say lil Lockhart was his servant....heh... genius.
But back to the book. Fletch folded his arms across his chest, sandwiching the book between them. And they were quite formidable arms. "What do you need it for, eh? I was here first...."
Considering the fact that he didn't really read though, he might just let Treyen check it out first. For a price. Savannah spun around to see a boy, probably a second year, now talking to Fletcher. What was she supposed to do during this ? Talk to the boy? Aha, that would probably be the best choice. Savvy waved to the younger boy, biting her lip as she didn't know what to say. What caught her by surprise was the SIR part. Giggle. What was so important about Fletcher other than his good looks? "Sir, hmmm?"Grin.

She smiled, "It is okay, young one" she said, with a nod and still hugging the book, "I vas meant to leave anyvay" she eyed Cedric and then the boy, she had to leave eventually, any time as good as the other.
It wasn't the boy's fault, he just happened to show up. "You stay" because he'd been sweet enough to let her stay. That's how things worked.

Iris wandered into the library on her own. She was pretty bored and just wanted Classes to start already.
But while there was no classes going on, Iris figured that she'd go and get some books. See, she'd been thinking about this for a long time, three or four years maybe, and she'd spokent to her mum about it and everything.
So why not? Shuffling her feet against the floor as she walked down one of the isles, Iris read all the MANY MANY MANY titles of the books, looking for a book that would help het out.
Maybe after getting some of the school books out, Iris should go and visit Professor Kingsley. He'd be able to help her out, too.

"Yeah..... Fletcher's my last name....." he admitted slowly. "And Sir's my first name." Wink. Surely even Blondie there wouldn't believe that one. Oi! Gimme the book! Why all these questions?!
Treyen was getting annoyed, and then he looked rather hurt, "No, it's not like that, Professor Lawson was the one who prepared the food for the creatures..." he started to explain again, like, really, why did he care? "...I never asked what was in it, I trusted her" now, not so much, because what if she messed up? Well, the Niffler seemed to be alive, so maybe she didn't mess up, "I gave him treats" like those you give the dogs, not the ones you give an owl, just in case.
Oooooh. He was mean.
Arms crossed across his chest, Treyen didn't look amused by the current height in which the book was being held. Mean Duncan. "I do, I need it...but it'll be real quick, you can have it after" actually, he should go and complain to the Librarian, because there shouldn't be just the one copy of this book.
Huh? Treasures? "Well, they pick everything that's metallic and shiny, not only treasures, but keys and money too" like he didn't know that. Treyen, of course, nodded, because treasures were included.
The boy then tilted his head and fought the urge to laugh. Treyen knew his real first name. Haha. He was almost going to say which one was that, but then remembered the book. Sigh. If he said 'Duncan', then the book won't be seen by Treyen until Fletcher left Hogwarts.

Get with this other girl. I do not care. It is not my business." This was the area of Jay's life she wouldn't dabble in. His romance... Urgh. How many girls was he capable of liking? If he was like that with his partners in love, he could easily be the same with his partners in crime. And then where would she be? Certainly not buying bloody owls for him. No, she'd be with Thiago, having a fun, movie-free, Woody and Jessie jamboree. HA. Jayce watched the brunette, waiting for her to ask about this girl. She usually asked that kind of thing.. Well, she wanted to know his buisness. Hmph. For some reason, she didn't this time.. Huh. How odd. "Oh relax. You've always disliked her. Plus, i don't think we were talking about the same people. The rumors i've been hearing are not about some Hogwarts boy." he frowned, confused at how quickly she had told him to dump Trixie. Wow. She really didn't like her. Sigh. "I don't even know if it's true.. If i hear more.. I'll go to her, and ask her. But as for right now, this other person will wait."

"With good reason," Eirian stated, as she had many, many times before. And now, here it was. Her justification... amongst many others she had. "If it is true, then you are going to break up with her. That is not something anyone should do." Cheating... There were a lot of "immoral" things that Eirian did, but she would never cheat on Thiago... or anyone, if she had anyone else. "It cannot be a Beauxbatons boy... They are sissies." Merlin, she hated Beauxbatons. "Then it would be a Durmstrang student?" She'd look into it... For Jayce. Even if she was vaguely mad at him. Then maybe he'd think twice about owl-cheating on her.

Jayce frowned. Gahhh. Why'd they have to talk about this? "Well, give me five good reasons as to why you hate her." Grrr. He hated talking about this but for some reason, every time he talked with Eirian it always managed to come up. >.<
Errr.. "Well yeah.. but... nevermind." Damn. He'd promised Hayley he wouldn't tell anyone about that kiss they shared. So.. that meant he couldn't tell Eiri either.. Jay hasn't been a very good boy either. Sigh. Now Eirian was going on about the other students. Merlin. "C'mon Eirian. Have you met the Beauxbatons boys? I haven't.. i haven't met a whole lot of students, but i don't call them names." he frowned. Geez. Where was all of this sensitivity coming from? "It might be Durmstrang. I think that's what i heard..." he shrugged uncertainly.

You complain about talking about this, but you cannot leave it alone!" There he was, always making problems. It wasn't her fault she felt how she felt, but he always managed to get them talking about it. "I do not know what is wrong with you, but you changed, and I do not like it. Send me a letter when Jayce comes back. A letter from your new bloody owl." Eirian turned away, trying to fight the tears that were beginning to well up in her eyes. Grasping at the paperclip necklace Jay had made her for her birthday, she undid one and fastened it back together, turning to hand it to Jayce.
"I do not want it," she muttered. "I... I will see you around." And then, she turned on her heel and stalked out of the library. She'd find Trixie and that Durmstrang, even if it killed her. Or... or maybe she'd just stick to Thiago. He had never abandoned her... never changed.

It wasn't the boy's fault, he just happened to show up. "You stay" because he'd been sweet enough to let her stay. That's how things worked.

Dumbfounded, Cedric watched Danika as she walk away, and purposely followed her with his gaze. He recalled what she had told him. She'd said he had good eyes. That could meant something. And he still felt the moist of her kiss in his cheek. That could meant something as well. She was a sweet, fine young lady. And the kiss itself was sweet... or more of a fire for it melt the coldness within him.
He didn't subdue watching her until she was completely out of sight. He gotta see her again. Next time. And with the very thought of him hanging out with Danika more, a genuine smile met his lips. He was, then again, enthralled by the Durmstrang champion.
Running a hand through his curly dark brown hair, he cocked his head and eyed the boy with certain fondness.
He then ruffled the boy's hair, and asked, "What can I help you, kiddo?"

*Matty watched the girl go too and looked down feeling horrid. He was expecting the prefect to make him write lines or something. But was shocked at his friendliness.*
"M-My uncle wanted me to give you this..." *Matty pulled out an envelope and handed it to Cedric.*
"He is getting married and has asked that you come as one of his h-honored guests..."

SMIRK.
What got this girl's knickers in a twist? "Ask me to move politely and I might." She said, holding the book that she'd been looking for. Older student's, preferly Prefects annoyed her. With their boring rules and such, gah such a killer! Enya ignored the girl's sentence and stared at the book the older girl was holding. Joy! Books. She eyed it. Boring, annoying, stupid book! Sigh.
Looking back up at the Prefect she crossed her arms and leant on one of her legs. Perfect. She eye'd the girl, "What if i don't want to use manners?" She asked smirking. This could be good, she loved annoying Prefects.

Iris looked at the girl as she answered and laughed. She didn't MEAN to laugh... But she just did. "I'd have thought it were obvious. You don't ask for me to move politely; I don't move. Simple as." Iris ruffled the little girls hair and nodded lightly, folding her arms.
This kid was what, a second year? Third year tops.
Pfft. She was NOT this cheeky when she was a midget. "Now... what's so important behind me that you have to be rude in asking me to move from your way?" She asked the girl politely.

Did she just ruffle her hair!? No one EVER did that - well minuse Vanessa but she aloud her to do tha - but never anyone here a Hogwarts. Glare. Enya stepped back and folded her arm's across her body. Glare even more. But before the hair ruffle they Prefect had laughed! At her!? How RUDE! Enya decided not to answer the older girls sentence.
Sigh. Enya looked around the girl's arm as she was too short to look over the girl's shoulder. Damn. She refused to look at the girl properly, instead she quickly tried thinking up a answer. "I dunno...books maybe" She said sarcaticly finally looking at the older girl. She blamed the whole being-in-the-library-looking-for-a-book on Vanessa.

Well duh, books. It's a library. Looking at the girl, Iris rolled her eyes. "Of course, books. How silly of me to have not thought of that." Hehehehe. C'mon kid. Make up a better excuse.
She really wasn't going to get a polite "excuse me" out of this kid, was she?
...
May as well just leeeave. She had the book SHE wanted, anyway.
