Grace stood by the wall, looking ridiculous in her costume. She stuffed the wand in her bag, and straightened the halo that was threatening to fall off of her neatly styled for once hair. Ugh, she hated wearing dresses, it made her feel all silly. But she wasn't going to miss the ball! She stepped back, out of the way of an older couple dancing, and glanced around, looking for her friends. Hopefully they'd be here, and not preoccupied dancing with their boyfriends. Oh the joys of being late to school.

Alice had never been to a dance before, let alone one as nice as this one. She was nervous, uncertain about whether or not to try and dance or just stand on the side and observe. She had hoped that Rubiey would be here with her, but she didn't see her.
For now Alice was going to just stand and observe in her new dress.
Alice hadn't really had a costume so she just put on a mask.
