Libriana walked in and saw their task. She withdrew a recipe and got together the items to make it. She was a little skilled in this because her mother had taught her to cook the muggle way that way if she had to live in the muggle world she could at least make herself food.
Gabrielle smiled and looked at Aileen "I'll look into the books on what we need ..." Gabrielle, meanwhile, looked aa said, "Well, let's do it?" she said
"Yes let's do it. Anyway, do you mind if another girl joins us?I think it would be better if there is more of us." Aileen pointed to the Ravenclaw girl Alcemee.
Evan smiled at Mina. "Sure." He was always open to new tastes and stuff. Talking about new tastes, he was sure that no one here had ever tried his recipes. They were Turkish meals, all delicious. His mom had those recipes, but she was never successful with them, and he looked forward to seeing if he could cook Turkish meal properly.
He smiled brightly back at the professor when he greeted him. He was one of the few people the blondie wanted to see when he returned to school, along with Marie, whom he tried his best to avoid, but whom again always had to be where he was. His smile grew even bigger, as if that was possible, when professor answered so well to the trio of Destiny, Evelyn and Marie. Man had a style. He didn't forget to give a brief disapproving glance at Marie, who seemed to plan to hit Professor Lawson. The man was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Who would even want to be rude to him?!
He examined all of the utensils carefully. He had a vague idea about their function. It was just a process of trial and error. He looked over everyone excitedly, skipping Marie's stare this time. Yep, this was going to be fun.
Aileen smiled at the girl and said. "Oh, I've already joined my friend here. But you can join us. This is my friend Gabrielle. And I'm Aileen. Unfortunately I didn't bring any recipe, because I don't know anything about cooking, but Gabrielle said we could make something with spinach. It's the green stuff and I think it's quite good." she explained to the girl and then she listened to the professor.
Oh, this will be difficult. Aileen began to rummage through the utensils."Ok, this is a spoon and this is a saucepan. But what are the others?" she turned questioningly at the girls.
Alcemee said, "Hi Aileen and Gabrielle. I'm Alcemee. These are whisks, kitchen knives, mixing bowls, and a mechanic beater. I don't know what the others are called."
Dude. The Pensevies aint got nothing on you. Aslan is the God
Amy looked around her table ok so: she said listing off what was on the desk, this is a ladle, this is a mixing bowl, this is a piping tube, this is a sieve, this is a whisk and this is a set of spoons, she finished off, pointing to each one in turn and smiling

Tonight we are young. So lets set the world on fire---------------- ----------------------------Belle-Marie. Hufflepuff. Fifth Year.
He shook his head and blue sugar crystals rained down on him and Oliver like a fanciful shower. He giggled. The sugar was making him giddy. He was no where near curbing his sugar addiction. "Well Paris taught me everything she knew so maybe I will make the team," he told Oliver. He hoped he made the team, but he wouldn't be surprised if he didn't.
Diggy turned and looked at his uncle. "Oh um its a new candy I've been working on." he told him softly. Diggy had been spending a lot of time working on some new candies. He didn't know why, but it was fun and he got to try out some new things. Like the blue bubble thing. Though last night he was burping blue canaries. Maybe he could make a candy that let you burp up different things. That would be cool. Girls would hate it, Diggy giggled at the thought.
He looked back at Oliver when he was done giggling. "Oh well I don't have any recipes. We can make your cookies." Cookies were good. Cookies had sugar and even better they could make sugar cookies. And they could put yellow icing ok top of them with sprinkles. His face scrunched up, "Why can't you eat them?" It would be silly to make something that you couldn't eat. If they made cookies Digz was totally going to eat some of them and maybe take some back to his room and give some to Stark. The cat was picking up Diggy's very bad and addicted love of sugar and candy. "Well Paris just likes everyone to know that she's daddy's girl." he told Oliver. Paris was extremely jealous when it came to their dad and everyone just learned to stay out of her way. Unless you just liked getting your butt kicked. "But dad spends Saturdays with us when Paris has that mother daughter thing with mom." he pointed out. All the boys loved that day. "Oh well this is going to be interesting. I've never cooked before either." He really hoped they didn't burn anything down. That wouldn't be a good way to start the term. Though the starting of his term couldn't be any worse.
Oliver grinned as blue crystals showered down on them both. That was pretty cool. He nodded in agreement. “I hope so too, mate.”
Woah.. Diggy was inventing cool magical sweets?! Oliver's eyes widened as he looked at the boy. “Awesome.” he replied. “I would totally buy those.” Totally. “You should go and see those Entrepreneur people at the jobs fair thing.” He suggested.
Wait? Digz wanted to help make the cookies? Oliver screwed up his face. So much for his plan of scoffing the lot all by himself. Guh. But he wasn't going to refuse... not if Diggy had come without a recipe - cos that's what family was for, right? “We can make two batches.” Oh Oliver wasn't a cunning Slytherin for nothing. No siree. “I can eat these cos I'm making sugar free ones. But I'm supposed to avoid sugar. I have an allergy to it.” If you could count climbing the walls (literally sometimes) as an allergy.
Oliver nodded as he listened to Digzy talk about Paris. He and the girl had never really got on smoothly. Stinging hexes were a regular thing when Oliver went to visit his brother and his family. He guessed the girl just didn't like his blunt honesty and sarcastic humour. They were such a cosy little family – Oliver did feel a twinge of jealousy as he listened to the shenanigans they all got up to.

Welcome to all of you. Now as you can see for our first muggle activity we will be cooking...muggle style. Now as eager as you all are to get started, I think we need to familarise ourselves with our surroundings. So have a look on your workstation and check out all the utensils."
Secondly your work station contains all the usual kitchen utensils. If your character doesn't know what something is, link a picture in your post and Lawson will explain what it is.
Oliver smiled and waved at the professor as he greeted he and Digz. Maan, there were hardly any other boys here. He looked at his work station and recognised everything. Yep – being a halfy certainly had it's benefits. Heh.
An eyebrow cocked and he looked sideways at Dillon, chuckling lightly to his question. Eyebrow insurance? Snort. What on earth?
Maddie showed her the chocolate fudge cake recipe
'It's a chocolate fudge cake' she said 'My cook, Mrs Cavendish, used to make it all the time... I hope the recipe works. What are you making?'
Chocolate chip cookies!!" Selena grinned. It was chocolate and it was in a cookie. How much better could it get. She pulled the book she had in her bag out to show Maddie it. 'Except, there's going to be a lot more chocolate!" Selena giggled. Sugar high, sugar high~ Selena loved her sugar~
As a thought came to her, Katie twirled around and raised her hand for politeness before asking, "Professor, it is alright if we work in groups, right?"
"Yes Katie you may work in groups" Marcus replied giving the girl a smile, "Actually I think it would be better for those unfamiliar with muggle cooking."
He looked over to Legend and chuckled softly, "Of course if there are those who want to work by themselves then that is fine too."

"No, I don't think she should kick him. Just stick to the original plan!" Whatever that was. Did they even have a plan? Too late for that now, though. At any moment the Professor was going to grow wings and leap onto the three of them. Wait a moment! Aliens don't have wings! Silly.
Looking back at the Lawson minion, Destiny couldn't help but laugh. "Ask him to leave? Are you CRAZY!? He is going to EAT us!" He wouldn't let them leave. "Hey, what are you making there anyway?" she asked as she saw him taste whatever was in his bowl. It was probably some type of gravy that Lawson liked to pour onto the children he eats.
And then the Lawsonator spoke! About her apron! "No, sir. It is not a joke. I haven't washed my hands yet and I probably won't either." Perhaps he wouldn't eat her if he knows she was dirty. And wait! He gave her..points! HAHA! In yo' face everyone! Destiny knew she was special for being the ONLY one wearing an apron! She couldn't help but wonder if he would have given out more points if she wore a chef hat, too. Next time, for sure!
Now that she had points, there was no way she was leaving. Lawson was giving out housepoints, and she WANTED MORE! "I think I'll stay now." she said giving Evelyn a glare that told her to sit down too. Taking her cookbook off Marie, Destiny sat down at a work station and found the recipe she was going to work on. She snickered at Lawson's comment to Marie, and turned to face her other Slytherin friend, "And stomp on his toes." she whispered, then gave a quick thumbs up. Classic!
Destiny was pretty familiar with all the utensils set before her. She had used them all at least once and was sure she knew what they all did. Picking up a wooden stirring spoon, she held it above her head, "This is a SPOON!"
Marcus chewed on the inside of his mouth to keep from laughing at Destiny's comment. "I see" he finally said and then looked between the three girls and the Gryffindor for a moment. "Well if anyone gets sick because of the germs from your dirty hands. Then I give those infected permission to punish you anyway they see fit."
He rolled his eyes when she held up the spoon. "Correct" he drawled as he turned to look at Evelyn.

Wait, what did that one guy say? Well they couldn't do what he said NOW! It would be quite obvious to know if they wanted to leave if they did all of that. Glancing around at everyone, Evelyn frowned before standing up straight again and looking utterly...embarrassed bored.
Pssh. This was all a trick. First, he practically made her come to the club, and now, he's showing her to the door. Confusing! At least he didn't have the little human with him this time. That was one little plus side to all of this, and actually made it more bearable.
She stood still in her spot, staring at the Professor for a few more moments, even though Destiny already left to go sit back down at the workstation, and debated whether or not she should...just go. But, that wouldn't happen. Sighing, and with a defeated posture, Evelyn dragged her feet back over to the workstation and plopped herself down on a seat.
"Well done genius." she mumbled to Destiny before laying her head down on the counter before a muffle voice could be heard. "This...is a table."
Just in case people didn't realize that fact either.
Lawson stared back at Evelyn as he watched inner conflict going on. It was sort of like a mexican stand off, who was going to give in first?
His lips twitched into a small smile as he watched the girl head back to her work station.
And that would be another win for Lawson.
Again he rolled his eyes at the Slytherin's answer, "Ya think? You girls are outdoing yourself with your knowledge of kitchen utensils." He snorted as he moved onto the next table.

Glancing away from her book, she looked over to all the dingdongs and whohas. She recognized many of them and even knew what some where used for, the others she didn't pay much attention to. All that she needed she to use, she sorta kinda knew how to use.
"Arya, you may make anything you like. So long as you don't burn the place down." Lawson chuckled as he continued to move around the workstations.

"Ooooooo.... and this is a laddle! I'm sure of it!!!!!!!!" he exclaimed.
Nodding at the boy, Marcus held up the utensils for the rest of the class to see. "You are correct Nymphy, this is a whisk which is used to mix things together but what makes it different from a spoon is that it makes the mixture lighter." He put the whisk down and then looked at the other utensil, "And yep this is a ladle, it is mostly used for serving up soup or stews. Its long handle makes it easier to dip into large pots and the bowl of the spoon is larger and deeper. Very good Nymphy, two points for Hufflepuff."

Cuuute.
Gold quickly sorted through the stuff, on her own workstation. There was much of the usual, and some stuff she didn't recognize. Where was Mr. T? She needed her Baker Extraordinaire.
She looked around the classroom, wondering if he was here. He had to be, he couldn't miss a club like that.
Or cooking, you know.
Marcus looked at Gold and his expression was one of understanding, last term had been hard on a lot of the kids. "If you ever need to talk..."he left the rest unsaid, he knew she would understand what he was getting at.
"Nothing like cooking to take your mind off things."

He relaxed when the professor moved on to talk to the other students. That was always a good thing. He wasn't going to be eaten then. This was going to be good, he thought. Learning how to cook. That was good. Food was good.
Dillon looked up. Muggle cooking? Epp!! That was dangerous. He didn't even think his dad simply cooked the muggle way.
He was going to lose his eyebrows for sure. He raised his hand, "Um professor do we have eyebrow insurance?" he asked meekly.
Laughing heartily as he made his way over to Dillon's workstation, Marcus took out his wand and gave it a small flick at the Slytherin's face. "You should be alright now, nothing will get to those eyebrows now." he gave the kid a wink as he moved on.

Marcus stood behind his workstation and laid out all the knives onto his table. "This is your typical kitchen knife set. They each have a different use. Does anyone know what each knife is used for?"
Evan raised his hand immediately. He did know the most obvious one. "The biggest one in size is for meats." 'Cause, y'know, they were boney and stuff, and flesh was in fact tough, unlike what many people thought.

"The different types of knives are used to cut different meats using the fork for assistance to keep the meat in place and to know where you're cutting, however the small on is used for fruits and vegetables and the ones with teeth are used to cut different types of breads," Selena said.

Hmm, that was a good idea. He had never thought of that. Being a sweet maker, that would be totally sweet. "Hmm, maybe I will. I never thought of that. I could get Paris to help me with some of my experiential," Paris was the best potioneer he knew and she had the best lab, well outside of JoJo's. But his was for a gearhead not a potioneer.
His face fell when Oliver said sugar free. Was there even a such thing as a sugar free cookie? "Yeah two batches sounds really good to me. I want sugar in mine." He wasn't going to waste a perfectly good cooking session on sugar free cookies. That was just wrong on all accounts. "Sugar is the best thing in the world why would you avoid it?" he asked him honestly.

Diggy knew what one of the knives were for. "The boning knife is for boning out small cuts of meat and boning fish." He said with a raised hand. His sister had waved that kinda knife at him enough to know what it does.

"You usually use the second to smallest one to cut steak with. At like...dinner or something." she said, recognizing that knife and pointing to it just so people knew which one she was talking about. It's like the only one she recognized too. Who uses those other HUGE knives anyway?! "Or any other food on your plate for that matter if you really feel like it."
Omg! That's why they called it a steak knife! Because it cut steak!
A chuckle burst out of Mat's lips when he heard that professor Lawson had remembered him. In his mind he was sure that no professor in Hogwarts knew him even though it was his fourth year here. He had been in the shadow for so long and never much participate in anything this amazed him.
This didn't last long. As soon as he heard Katie's replied Mat rolled his eyes. Why does her answer were so annoying!! "Yeah! Yeah! Sure thing." Then he head snap when his brain register what Willie had said.
What?! CHOCOLATE FROG!! "Hey Willie? You got any left on you right? RIGHT!!??" Oh man, he could totally have one right now. His stomach was always growling when he heard of chocolate.
A grin reappear on Mat's face as he watch the exchange between his best bud and Katie. This was rather hilarious and he was sure that Katie didn't like it at all. But this was the point.
So now they needed to look around at their station to see what they would be using and also come up with something to cook. URG!!!! What did he knew about cooking. Well nothing, zip. "Well Katie I'm good at tasting stuff." This must be a good thing, RIGHT! All kitchen needed someone to taste the product. If his memory was correct they call it testing the quality or something.
Oh now it was time to listen to what professor Lawson had to say. He was pretty sure he would made a fool out of himself but that didn't matter as long as he was having fun. Raising his hand he said:" If a say a cheese knife am I right. I think they have variety of them. One for hard cheese, soft cheese and another one I think." Taking a good look at the ustensil he noticed that they had no cheese one.
Jacob raised his hand enthusiasticly. He knew Knives... well kind of. "Isn't that big square one for cutting through big hunks of meat and bone" Wait what was the name. Was it a Butcher knife?...No he knew this. Nope... Never mind. He didnt know this

Hmmm. It sounded like a yes, but did he know that if left unsupervised she would burn the place down? No matter, he would be in the room while she was cooking. But maybe getting a partner couldn't hurt no?
Arya looked at the knifes and only knew what two of them were used for. But seeing how they both had been mentioned, she just sat quietly and listened to the disscusion at hand.

What!? He was going to let others punish Destiny? He better not or she would have to stomp on both his feet at the same time.
Looking up at all the knives he had laying there Marie couldn't help herself. She raised her hand, "Well professor, I would say they are all used for cutting something That is except for the fork, it would be used for stabbing something."like your foot if you let anyone hurt Destiny. Okay, so she knew that wasn't the answer he was looking for but she still thought it was funny.

"Other than my mum using them to practice her knife throwing at garden gnomes, hmm..." Rafe chucked as he looked at the knife set. "Well, the rectangle looking one is a meat cleaver right? A lot of butcher's use the knife to cut through bones." Rafe definitely had experience when it came to visiting butcher's. He preferred his meat rare and fresh from the shop if possible.
"The four little one's that look the same, are simply your steak knives that are commonly used at your typical table settings..." Rafe looked at the other ones a little closely. He was only really familiar with the ones that cut meat. "The one between the Chef's knife and the stabby-one, is a carving knife if I recall? It's a thinner blade than the Chef's knife, enabling you to carve thinner, more exact slices." Rafe's mouth began to water at the thought of a rare Chateaubriand steak entered his mind.

Destiny shook her head at Patroclus' offer of her helping him. She really didn't want to make brownies, since she didn't even like them things! Plus, she had already picked out a recipe she was going to use, and it was MUCH better than browines. "No thanks, I have my recipe riiiiiight here!" she said lifting her book up so he could see.

If someone were to get sick, that person would be Destiny and Destiny alone. She didn't remember mentioning anything about sharing the things she was going to make! Humph. If other people got sick it would be their own fault for STEALING her food.
Jeeeez! Enough with the threats already! This was definitely the second time he had threatened Destiny with having students ATTACK her. The first time was in the class last term when they learned how to play football! "Fine." she scoffed and pushed her stool out, making sure the stool made that extra loud screeching noise as she did so. "I'll go wash my hands." She stalked her way over to the sinks, never taking her eyes off Lawson, and threw her hands in the water.

Thirty seconds. That's how long she washed her hands for. She knew because she counted each and every agonizing second she glared at the Professor. She dried her hands on a towel and made it back to her seat just in time to hear the question asked. "Well, obviously, the littlest one is for people too 'immature' to use the really big one."
Like herself, perhaps.

Rearranged a little bit =3 (Professor & THE boys - Legend, Mat & Will)
Fortress of Brilliance ღ Mommy Quad
Yup, Legend was a big grump. But Katie wasn't going to let that bother her, because they were all going to have fun. Grump or no grump. "Spaghetti?" The Hufflepuff read outloud for Mat and William to hear, though her gaze went from the muggle pad of paper to Legend. Both surprised and impressed he had crossed out meatballs after writing that thought down, rather then take a chance of offending or annoying her. She nodded her approval, dark eyes turning to find Will and Mat's reaction. "What do you two think about that? We should make the sauce a little more special though, not just tomato; that's too easy. I have a recipe in my bag somewhere for that.. I wasn't sure what we should make, so I wrote home and asked mum to send it just in case." Katie turned back to fish through her bag, "I also borrowed a muggle recipe book from the library, if you guys don't like Legend's suggest-" the young girl stopped short of finishing her sentence, pausing when Legend's notepad hit her. Giving him THAT Katie look, she huffed and bent to grab it. "Oh? I didn't know." She answered in a false innocent tone, smiling as she handed it back and resisted the urge to stick her tongue out.
Her attention turned to Mat as he spoke, she gave another small nod. "Okay. Well, that's good." Because depending on how things went, Katie might want the boys to taste test whatever they made first. Clearly, Mat was a new to cooking. And that was okay. "Don't worry, cooking isn't hard. It's.. kinda like potions! You have to have patience, and pay attention, and stuff. It's easier then it sounds." She added, trying to encourage the boy's happy mood and enthusiasm towards their task.

"Alrighty first off I am going to show you how to slice and dice. Daniel, will be around in a moment with some carrots and celery for you to practice on. While he is doing that, I shall go through the different kitchen knives."
Marcus stood behind his workstation and laid out all the knives onto his table. "This is your typical kitchen knife set. They each have a different use. Does anyone know what each knife is used for?"
Katie beamed at the Professors response, glancing back at her group of boys. This was going to prove to be one interesting activity, for more then one reason. "Thanks, Professor." Glancing at Legend and then back, she added, "Don't mind him, that's normal." waving a hand dismissively at the boy.
Whatever interaction he witnessed between the four of them, it would be normal. For them.
Turning to their own set of kitchen knives, Katie studied them without touching. She raised her hand before speaking up, "The longest, staight, skinny one in the front is usually used for cutting bread, or other foods that are harder outside and softer inside. And the big fat, square-ish one is for cutting thick meats and stuff, I think?"

I love you all,

"Hmmmmm......I'm pretty sure that the short curvy one is for small slices. its called a parting or parning or paring knife or something!" he said, less sure than his last repsonce. Nymphy had only seen his mother use it once to peel an apple.
Huh? Aileen looked blankly at the knife set. There is so many knives? What for? At home they only used two or three different types-for normal cutting and for meat. Yes and the smallest one was for...fish? She raised her hand.
"Professor, I think that the smallest one has something to do with fish and the sixth from the left is for cutting meat."
