Hmm?'' hopefully controlling his anger he managed to get back to the mocking the stutters part though his calling him 'little boy' sounded quite annoying ''Don't call me little boy'' he said glaring at the Hufflepuff ''I am fourteen years old and don't you dare touch me again or...''

Surprised at what the Hufflepuff had said Josh stared at him for a moment or so then once he figured all the meaning out, he laughed again ''Ah really? I wonder how you managed to say the spells right while you are all stuttering like that. Just drop it you are not scary'' especially not for a Gryffindor like Josh.

As Jake shoved him again, Josh, in his own way, figured what the Huffie wanted : a physical duelling which was fine with the Gryffindor. ''Did not i warn you about this, stutters?'' he shoved him back his fists were ready for the fight.

Stutters casting the killing curse... though the idea at first seemed funny Josh could not laugh at that when he thought he saw something at the Hufflepuff's expression as if he was serious. Was he joking or was he telling the truth. Telling the truth...no way. ''What do you mean you casted the Killing Curse?'' he asked suspiciously narrowing his eyes.

But he did not wait for the answer as Jake shoved him again ''Yes it was'' he snapped back and punched the other boy in the face. ''You are the one threatening me with the killing curse, are not you? I am not scared of any stupid killing curse''

Preston had simply wanted to grab a bite to eat when he'd entered the Great Hall. He'd heard something of a scuffle and looked over toward the Hufflepuff table when he saw a heated conversation.

Before he'd even made it over there, it had become a shoving match. And so he'd yelled, just as the one hit the other.

Approaching the boys, he grabbed fistful of each of their robes.

"Enough."

He didn't care who'd started it.

Looking at from Jake to the professor and vice versa, Josh simply snorted when he heard the Hufflepuff's explanation then his eyes got wider as he could hardly believe what the huffie was saying. He killed someone? And he was mentioning it as if it was such an ordinary thing to do.

So, with shock Josh thought he was not going to be able to explain the situation yet he managed to take a breath and open his mouth ''Sir, he is evil. I knew that. He is evil. He shoved me first. I was just joking and playing. He started it first, he knows i get angry easily''

Jake had to admit it... Kingsley was right. The boy pulled up the collar of his brand new t-shirt and held it up against his nose, glaring momentarily at Josh. Stupid... grrrrr.

As for the killing comment, Jake internally cursed his own stupidity. "Yyyeah, bbbecause I d-d-did. Just ask T-t-tate. And it wwwasn't a thhhreat. It was me ppproving I can too do mmmmagi- OWCH!" Jake yelped again as he put a little too much pressure on one side of his nose.

Threat or not, I believe your intention was to intimidate, which is inappropriate."

Taking a chance that they wouldn't leap on each other once he was out of the way, Preston crossed his arms, eying them both. "Mister Upstead, have a seat so I can see to your nose. And then I will see both of you in detention."

"Well, your nose doesn't appear to be broken, Mister Upstead, though I think your cheekbone is." The minor bruising, already beginning to show, seemed to indicate that.

"Episkey," he said, focusing on setting and mending the break. It would hurt, surely, but not as much as an improperly healed injury.

There was a slight... very painful crack as Jake felt his face kind of shift back to its rightful position(s) again and he winced before reaching up and applying some pressure there with his fingertips.

Then he sniffed slightly. "My ddddad just b-bought me this shhhirt," Jake mumbled, slightly sensitive when it came to things given to him by his parents. "Rrrruined."

That said, Jake stood again and tried not to let the upset bubble over. He succeeded, and gave Kingsley a little nod, before leading the way silently to the doors and then down to the dungeons.

Face. Ache.

Carter arrived at the Hufflepuff table with his quill behind his ear and ink and parchment in his hands. Not seeing the Hufflepuff Captain around he took a seat. He probably looked really silly sitting at a table where he hardly knew anyone. But hey, you had to make sacrifices for the greater good. And in this case, the great good was the school newspaper.

He looked around hoping that Roxxy and Miranda would get there soon.
