Bradin smiled. "Of course. I would say it'll be our first dance, but then I'd be forgetting about the Three Broomsticks" he replied. And that would be bad. That was their first dance, but their first proper dance would be tonight.

Annie tugged on the side of Sammy's dress "Sammy?Sam?Sammy?... SAMANTHA!" "what?" sammy replied pulling Annie's little hands off her dress "it's the lady that found me" Annie whispered pointing at Mikayla "Annie its rude to point" she whispered back at her, then looking up to see who Annie was pointing at ... JAY!!!!! "come on Annie" she said taking the little girl's hand and pulling her over to them .she let go of Annie's hand and excitedly said "JAY!!!" as she hugged him "I'm not here or anything" Annie said rolling her eyes at her sister then turning to the "lady" "hi" she said giving her a small wave and smile

Jay hugged Sammy, "Thank god your still here, i thought you left because i was late." he said letting out a sigh of relief. He noticed the little girl at the side of Sammy, "Is this your sister? She is cute." he said smiling.

Mikayla looked at Annie, "Oh, hello. Are you okay?" she asked hoping Annie made a full recovery. Then turning back to Jay, "Ah so this is your girlfriend?" she said looking at Sammy, "She is beautiful in that dress, your lucky she didn't leave..." she said with a small laugh.

Ermmmm who was this guy??? Ohhhhh it's the older cousin guy! "Nice to meet you." Drew said smiling nicely to Emiliano as he stuck out his hand for a handshake. But the only problem was he probably wasn't going to be able to say his name right!!!

"It is our first proper first dance", repiled Ginny. "The Three Broomsticks was a dance but this one will be proper", said Ginny smiling. She loved it at The Three Broomsticks.

While Violet was waiting for Dillon she looked around and spotted EVAN! Yayyy, he looked sooo so so cute! Then she realised who he was with...oh that girl, Mina. She didn't have anything against her until now. Heh, I look way better than her. *eyeroll* She strutted over to them, and gave Evan a hug. "Hey Evan! You look great!" she said and looked at Mina. "Hi Mina, you look...okay." she said with a glare. Pffft. Alright, so she was jealous that she got to go with Evan while Violet had Dillon.

"Nice meeting you too, mate." Emiliano answered as he shook the boy's hand, totally thinking about teasing Annie at that moment, but he figured from her facial expression of total anger that she was not ready for that. "I'm expecting to dance with you, Robles. If your boyfriend lets me, of course." He said, raising an eyebrow in search of approval from Drew.

Annie groaned, in silence. "Same, Saenz..." She said, trying to not jump over him and maybe strangle the guy, annoying man he was. "I'll see you later, Drew and I have to dance..." Annie said, tapping her heels with her wand and turning them into tiny ballerinas that matched with the dress. "...and you know, the party must begin..." She ended her sentence, pulling Drew along back into the dance floor.

Mina turned as she heard someone call her name. Smiling as her eyes fell on Evan. He looked more than handsome in his suit. She had always thought him a handsome guy, but seeing him at that moment, just reassured it. He was very handsome and she was a lucky girl to have him as a date, even if they were going as friends.

"But, I even trying to fool you. I really don't see a line of boy admirers," she laughed. Yes, she was aware she was pretty and not at all unpleasant to look at, but she also knew others were more pretty than she. Taking his arm, she blushed slightly. Maybe there were boy admirers finding in the shadows, but at the moment she didn't care. She was on the arm of a rather handsome boy and that made her feel even more special than she realized.

"Yes, do lead the way," she replied.

Mina stopped short as she felt herself being pushed slightly to the side as someone hugged Evan. Seeing it was just Violet, she shrugged. It wasn't a secret that the girl had a thing for Evan, but it wasn't her place to say anything about it either. "Hi Violet," she replied. "Thanks, you look nice." It was true the girl did look nice, but Mina wasn't completely lost on how Violet looked at her. She wasn't a fool, but she wasn't there to have drama. They hadn't even enter the ball yet.

"Exactly and its gonna be a night to remember. I promise" smiled Bradin as he took Ginny's hand. "Should we go inside?" he asked. He wanted to go inside and see what had been done to the place.

Sammy let go of Jay, smiling "well i really haven't been here for that long myself" she replied "yeah this is Annie" she indicating Annie "thanks" she said to Mikayla , smiling... still "yep, i feel much better " Annie said to Mikayla nodding her head wildly

Walking into the entrance hall, JD pushes back his hair. Not that it really mattered, he hadn't really bothered with it a whole lot. His hair was...yep you got it, standing on end, in every direction.

He was soooo going to irritate Cela, after what happened in Charms, he had no intention of making it look soooo nice and slick.

Turning he watches for Ellie, they had agreed to meet in the entrance hall before walking in together. He knew he had made the right choice, she was a wonderful friend, and he looked forward to spending the evening with her.

"Thats great Annie. Glad to see your doing well," she said smiling happily.

Jay sighed with relief, "Thank god for that, I thought I would have missed the whole thing i didnt know it was on tonight until 15 minutes ago." he replied.

Selena pouted. "Not enough chocolate," she sighed. She was sooooo close to getting Leilani a date!! "I like your dress, so pretty~" she said with a grin. Hehehe. All blue and all. Unlike Selena who was proudly sporting her house colours.

"It will be. I promise too", smiled Ginny back. Ginny looked down and saw that Bradin had his hand on hers. "Yeah let's go", she repiled hoping Bradin would lead the way.

Ellie made her way to the Entrance Hall where she was to meet JD. She was glad it was able to work out that she and him could go together. But she was NERVOUS! Her first ball. She had found a dress, finally. And managed to somehow do her hair up a bit, so it wasn't it's usual loose-hanging undone hair. And she attempted to curl it. Yeah, how that worked... Ah, well.

She peeked her head around the corner and saw JD standing there, then straightened herself back up. She had a big grin on her face. Nice HAIR, she thought. That made her feel more comfortable about hers. She took a deep breath and stepped out so JD could see her. Breath, Breath.

"very smart Jay" sammy said sarcastically with a small laugh Annie tugged on Sammy's dress again "Sammmy?Sammy?Sammy? I'm hungry" she said with a small frown on her six year-old face "well there is food inside" she said to Annie once again pulling her tiny hands off her dress, but keeping hold of one of them "you guys want to go inside?" she asked gesturing to the great hall

"Yeah I don't mind," he said. Walking slowly behind Annie And Sammy. I wonder what food is in there he thought.

Looking up as Ellie stepped out toward her, his eyes lit up seeing how beautiful she looked. He was amazed how wonderful she looked she didn't look like a first year no longer, she looked much more...matured.

Holding out his hand as he nears closer to her, he takes hers and kisses it gently. "Are you ready?" he asks giving her a gentle smile. He knew she was nervous, and could see it though she tried to hide it.

He was a tad nervous as well, but he looked forward to the new adventure they were about to begin...the ball!

Ellie smiled when he took her hand and kissed it. This was scary. This was like a grown up thing. She was twelve. She was far from a grown up, and would like to keep it that way as long as possible.

"Yeah, let's go." she said, trying to keep calm.

She kept his hand in his. For comfort, you know? But squeezed it tight. She didn't mind much if he knew she was nervous. But she wanted to put on a good face for everyone else. All the other first years, especially. She was subconsciously digging her nails into his.

Evan rolled his eyes dramatically as he smiled. "That is because they are probably too shy. You really are gorgeous, and it is hard for a guy to keep composed around you." He nodded in a serious manner, showing that he meant what he'd just said. Even he had to force himself to look at somewhere else and not only look at her beauty. He felt very lucky to have her as a date for this ball. She'd surely catch a lot of eyes.

Just as they were about to leave for the great hall, he saw Violet out of the corner of his eye, and the next moment he was hugged. Again. While he was arm-in-arm with Mina. And Violet was supposed to know this! It took all of his will not to glare at Violet as he didn't hug her back again. Normally, he wasn't so moody around the girl, but tonight he was with Mina, meaning, he didn't want any sort of drama. He was sure that Violet would have no difficulty with creating a drama if he chose the wrong words while dismissing her. Now, that would look very bad, and be extremely embarrassing right in front of Mina. He couldn't afford that kind of thing.

"Thanks, Violet for your... kind remarks." At least she didn't say Mina looked ugly, or that sort. "You look nice, too." Hehe. Copying the words of Mina. They seemed to be the safest, and she did look nice, not as much as Mina. "Now, if you don't mind me taking my date--" There was no way he was letting Violet know that he and Mina were friends. Might as well work as she thought she was his girlfriend. Suited him better, and hopefully would allow him to take a breather. "--inside, see you later. With Dillon, your date." Clear enough? He thought so. Without waiting for a reply, he smiled briefly and walked in the Great Hall with Mina, his mood returning.

Satine smiled at her two friends and checked out their dresses in more detail..."Okay well if you made then Iris I wanna see the back of them both as well, so you guys turn around so I can see the backs..." she said twirling her finger in the air in a turn around motion. "I'm the backs are just as beautiful as the front!"

"O thanks guys...I had to do purple!" she said with a wink as she glanced around at the people entering the Great Hall for the ball. "Did you say a couple of guys...I'm very jealous...you should throw one or two my way..." she said with a devilish grin.

Daphne Jones teared up a little as she stepped into Hogwarts castle. She hadn't returned since her graduation and thought she'd never return. She had some of the best years of her life here. She looked around for some of her former Quidditch team mates.

Her red hair was in an elaborate up-do, accented by her flowing, lavender gown. Her shoes made noise with each step. Had the area been empty, it would have reverberated throughout the entire castle. Now, rather, it was muffled by the crowd of people and music.

Clifford, who's stomach was rumbling rather loudly, spun on his heel when he heard someone saying his name. The person he was facing wasn't familiar though, and he tilted his head to one side in scrutiny. "I'm not in the riddle business, I play Quidditch," he said simply. Riddle business? He wondered if that was good money.. Hmm.

Despite just using the men's room, Sage needed to pee. It always happened when he was nervous.. weak bladder, y'know. Not that there was any need to be nervous. Not really. He was just attending the alumni ball with a fellow colleague and friend, Lexi Carlton.

Hey, maybe he'd even try and have fun.

And so here he was.. waiting. Waiting and fidgeting in the suit that was too small for him. Laundry wasn't his strong spot and apparently the thing had shrunk in the wash.. he had quite a bit of ankle showing and had a feeling the jacket was going to burst at the seams at some point. Heh.

Was he early or was she late?

Or was she standing him up? Oh gawd.

Just one more minute---one measly set of sixty seconds---and Lexi Carlton would be extremely late. She hurried out of her quarters with one shoe on and one in her hand. As she click-thumped down the corridors, she slid her other shoe on then began sliding her earrings into her ears.

How is that she started getting ready and hour earlier than she'd planned to and was still having to rush out the door and to the ball?

By the time she rounded the corner and made way into the entrance hall, though, she was fully dressed and had even slowed to a nice stroll. It just wouldn't do to come running into the ball half put together with her hair flying out behind her.

Oh, and Sage was already here! She smiled at one of her best staff-member friends---aka her date for the night---then headed his way. She thought about asking him if he wanted her to charm an extra inch or two onto the bottom of his suit, but she didn't want to hurt his feelings. If he asked, though, she'd definitely help out. "Hey," she greeted, a tiny hint of nervousness in her voice.

She said nothing else, though, because...well, wasn't this the point and time where the man was supposed to tell the woman her dress looked great and all that jazz? Yeah, she'd just wait on Sage.

He liked to think that Lexi wouldn't stand him up... but why wouldn't she? He was just boring old Sage after all. Boring old Sage that had been a loser when they'd been at school. Wow, when had he turned into such a paranoid depressive?

The Herbology professor gave his head a quick shake and took a big breath. It was just a ball. You just had to socialise and eat and ... dance. Oh boy, he wasn't looking forward to the dancing part. Maybe Lexi didn't like to dance either. Somehow, he doubted that.

Oh, and here she was!

"Hello," Sage greeted in return, voice just as nervous as hers. Strange though. Lexi was normally all bubbly and you know.. outgoing. Normally she was full of chatter but now all he'd gotten was a 'hey.' Maybe she was ill?

"You uh... you look.. that's a really nice dress.." He said quickly and it wasn't just the tips of his ears that burned but his whole FACE.
