Nymphy raised his hand. "I would absolutley love to take care of an animal. Count me in!" he said, very excited. He was already thinking baby names and which creature would be the most fun...... ooooooo, he couldn't wait.

Noir raised her hand "I would love to participate Professor Lawson" she said.."This will be awesome taking care of baby creatures..WICKED..!!" she thought

Holding the wiggling cruppie close to her, to keep him from messing with the other creatures, she began to walk around the room peaking into each cage. It took a lot not to stick her fingers into the cages, and if she didn't have Miles then she surely would have. Hmm, maybe that was why Lady Lawson had given her the crup, smart that woman.

Thousands of names ran through her mind and she thought of one for each creature and gender. She paused infront of Tallulah's cage and cooed at the now adult kneazle, promising to take her out later before continuing her walk around the room.

Willow raised her hand wanting to participate. She started walking around the room taking in all the creatures around her. She stopped at a niffler. "How cute." she said while looking at the little niffler. The little niffler stared back appearing happy to have a visitor taking interest in him.

Ella raised her hand quickly, "I would love to participate Professor!" She said eagerly. This was a totally amazing assignment, the best kind she'd heard of. A baby creature!? N'aww she couldn't wait! And Ella was pretty responsible, she took care of her kittie pretty well. So... awesome!

Diggy raised his hand, "Can we have dragon hatchlings?" he asked almost bouncing on his feet. That would just make his year if he could take care of a baby dragon. He would promised not to burn anything down if he could have a dragon.

Mina's eye brightened when she heard it. A term-long assignment. Oh she liked the sound of that. Moving the sleeping Samara slightly, supporting her in one arm. She raised her free hand. "I'd love to participate, Professor." she beamed excitedly.

Rae raised her hand aswell.. Everyone seemed it was appropriate to voice their opinion along with their hands in the air. Rae kept quiet. She was open this year to trying to new things but that did not include being as vocal as everyone else..

Silently she wondered what kind of creatures she would assign us. Hopefully not super noisy ones...

Professor Lawson walked around to each student whose hand was raised. After a few moments of discussion, decisions were made and creatures were assigned.

As names were chosen, Iliana would tap the creature's cage with her wand and a nameplate would appear. The only exception being the baby abraxan caretakers. "Patroclus, Duncan Fletcher, Gold... Stay after class please. I'd like to show you around the stables personally when class is over."

She turned towards Cela and added, "I'd like you to join us as well."

Hearing Dillon's question, Iliana smiled apologetically and shook her head 'no'. "I wish we could," she answered truthfully. "Unfortunately, the Headmaster would never allow it."

Kate was so distracted seing the baby creatures that she hadn´t realized that everyone was leaving and have been assigned an animal.
She turned back and raised her hand.

"Professor, please, I want to participate too. Is there another baby creature that needs love?" She said kindly.

Arya was cradling Miles against her chest as she peered into the cage of her newly assigned creature with a grin, he was cute. And oh the fun things she had planed for them to do. Tearing her eyes away from him, she glanced around the room once more as she made her way over to the professor. "Lady Lawson, can I still care for my kneazle from last term along with my clabbert?" Miles squirmed in her arms as he tried to take hold of her robes again. "Oh, and will someone get Miles? Cause if not I can come by and play with him sometimes..." She totally would, she had already taken a liking to the little crup.

Alexandrie looked around eyeing her baby Knarl. "Professor what does a Knarl eat?" She asked raising her hand eyeing Adorabelle, she loved baby animals, creatures or normal no matter how dangerous.

Aww.... what? Class was over already AND the professor had let his first name slip? Fletcher couldn't help but make something of a stormy face as he approached the professor and his little abraxan's stall. Awww Cupcake. She was adorable! And so little! The sight of the tiny abraxan brightened him up a bit.

Not that, you know, big manly men found animals ever cute.

Whit couldn't believe she was going to get to take care of a magical creature again. After she had done it a couple of years ago she was definitely ready to do it. Raising her hand, Whit said, "I would love to participate in this, professor!" She was already trying to think of a name for it...and hoping she was going to get something she would be afraid of.

ooc: I wasn't sure if I had to post here even if I hadn't yet so I did just in case.

Selena had zoned off for a moment. She wanted to take care of a baby creature!! But the teacher had already assigned everyone animals and announced the homework. "Professor, may I please take care of a baby magical creature too?" Selena said. She really, really really wanted to take care of one and love it. And feed it and cuddle it... and make it amazing!! Hahaha.

Staring at the nameplate on her baby creature's cage, Evelyn could help but feel proud of it. That nameplate, was the niffler's! Her niffler! Her most cute and adorable than any other niffler in the world...niffler. Seeing the little thing sleeping however, the Slytherin smiled proudly for a moment before walking towards the door so she could read the homework. Didn't seem too bad.

Glancing towards Destiny and Marie, Evelyn opted not to mention she was leaving and went towards her bag out by the benches. Those two were, definitely something when stuck together. Grabbing her bag, she jogged slightly back up to the castle, wanting to start on all her homework so she had time to come back down and visit her little niffler.

The BEST niffler in the world of course.

Delilah realized that mostly everyone had been paired up with a baby creature. "Excuse me, Professor. May i care for one as well?" She quickly added a "Please."

Patroclus was still in a state of shock! He was going to be the proud carer of a baby Abraxan!
He dealt often with horse's having his own Pegasus at home, but getting to have a baby abraxan at school, welll this was something else.
He watched as the others left the class, and the fact that he was asked to remain behind, made him feel all the more special.

Carter smiled as he was assigned an animal. Walking over to his assigned cage he found a female baby crup. Aww! It was super cute. Crouching down in front of the cage he looked the little crup over. He decided to name her Kali. He couldn't be more excited. It kind of even looked like a dog. He just hoped that muggles and muggleborns had two completely different scents.

Ellie woke from her day-dreamy stage. Must've been the icky clabbert that forced her attention to focus elsewhere... or not focus at all.

She raised her hand, high, high, high! "Professor!! I'd loooooovveee to take care a a yittle baybyyy!!" Awwwwww!

Hermione wasn't too disappointed about not having too care for a creature. She was already swamped in homework as it was. She wrote down the homework and started to leave the class. "Have a good afternoon Professor" she said as she left.

Oh, homework. Gold eyed the door, then turned back to listen to Professor Lawson. Duncan Fletcher? The corners of her mouth twitched into a smile. This was too good. Now she knew Fletcher's first name, and she could tease him with it. Bwaha. BWAHA!

Oh wait! Professor Lawson wanted her to stay, too. Gold watched the other students leave, lingering behind. "Professor?" She asked, after a moment of thought. "Do we have to focus on the creature we've been assigned, for this homework, or can I do it with Dexter?" The clabbert, in the meanwhile, continued to cling to her back. Gold reached behind her neck to touuuchhh him.

In that case, that was BRILLIANT!

Treyen would think it as another pet, an adopted one, for one year. As long as Gilderoy didn't get jealous, then it'd be alright. "Oh! Professor! I'd like to take care of a creature as well!" he said, raising his hand, but realizing that most of the class was...quite gone.

Oh, of course, the class was over.

Did she hear what she just thought she heard? DUNCAN? Now who said that was a terrible name? She looked over at Gold smiling and Fletcher (Duncan) frowning. Well the secret's out. Well the Professor also stated her FULL name as well. Rae couldn't help but smirk to think that she now knew Fletcher's real name. The funny thing is that she let the topic go too. She got up and turned 'round to go to the nursery to see her Clabbert but she couldn't resist shooting the "See ya 'round Duncan." at Fletcher with a wink.

Alex hesitantly raised his hand. He wanted to look after a baby animal but he was still unsure about it. If he couldn't keep up with the work than that wouldn't be any good. Still this was his chance to have a kind of pet at Hogwarts.

Seeing the others picking up creatures Alex grew a tiny bit more confident about looking after the baby animals. Plus they were just so cute. Yep he was definitely going to look after a baby animal.
