Roscoe stared at Lina's hand, large yellow eyes unblinking as it came closer. For a moment, he seemed to consider the treat, nose sniffing at it. Then, rather suddenly, one small white paw shot out and patted down on the top of Lina's hand, almost as if he were trying to keep it from moving, and Roscoe's mouth went after the treat.

"I'm fairly sure Roscoe will eat about anything offered to him." Raiden shifted slightly, and the cat in his arms let out an unhappy noise, as if he thought Raiden was trying to take him away from the treat. "He's... like a goat in a cat's body."

Walking through the door to the kitchen Marie started to feel hopeful that maybe she would find Destiny and Evelyn in here. She had heard them talk about making cupcakes for Professor Lupa once so just maybe they would be there making something again.

Looking back to make sure Carter was following her she continued making her way around the kitchen. The more she walked around the more she lost hope of them being there. The only students she was finding in there so far were Raiden and Lina. Both Slytherin but not the ones she was looking for. Looking at Carter she says, "I'm not finding them, what about you?" Maybe he had been looking in an area she hadn't been looking. Then again if he had found them he surely would have told her by now......Right?

She laughed, holding her hand still for the cat. "Well, then this can help keep him healthy." She watched him eat a little then smiled to Raiden. "I should introduce you to Yojimbo. I got him the summer before my third year."

Roscoe did not trust this hand to stay still. He knew his paw was not enough to keep it there; picking up the rest of the treat with his teeth, he withdrew from it and squirmed in Raiden's arms, trying to get down so he could enjoy his treat without the humans being all up in his business. His owner obligingly released him and he jumped down to the floor, where he dropped the remains of the treat and proceeded to make really gross sounding cat-eating sounds.

Lovely, Roscoe. Lovely.

"Yojimbo?" Raiden blinked at Lina, suppressing a smile. "Is that your owl?"

She giggled slightly then looked up at Raiden, still smiling. "Yeah. Asio otus, or the long-earred owl. He's pretty cute." She tossed another treat on the ground for Roscoe then tucked them away. "Wanna go meet him before class?"

"I don't see them either." Carter said having a look around. Was this hopeless? No, he wouldn't give up. "Let's move on to the next floor." he said. He went ahead out of the kitchen.

This was not looking good at all.The two places she had really hoped to find her friends came up empty. With a sinking feeling in her stomach Marie followed Carter out of the kitchen to the ground floor. Maybe they would find them there, or at least find a clue leading them to where they were.

Roscoe's head shot up as the treat bounced on the floor; he immediately went after it, his paw batting down on it to stop it from moving any further. Greedily, he devoured it, and Raiden let out a laugh again. Piggy little cat.

"Sure. I dunno about Roscoe though." He bent and picked up the cat as soon as he'd finished the treat; his little tongue had been licking the floor, and Rai didn't want to have to crawl under the table after him again. "He's never been around owls before. Hope he behaves."

"Um... Well, I guess it'll be a new experience for him. Probably a good one... I hope." She giggled lightly and headed for the door. "Come on. I'm sure the worst that'll happen is they'll fight over a treat."

Delanie wandered into the kitchen, looking around. She had never been in there before, so it was all sort of a shock to her. It was decided while she was in the waiting room in the hospital wing that she and Dylan would go down to the kitchen after she was healed to grab a bite to eat. She was starving, and her growling stomach was proving it.

He followed her into the kitchen. Mmm food. "So what you getting?"

"Anything fattening," Delanie answered. She looked around and nearly let out a squeal of delight as she spotted a plate of cookies sitting on the counter near her. Nearly tackling the sweets, she grabbed a cooking and took a big bite. Yum. Double Chocolate Chip; her favorite. She looked over and saw a cake sitting next to the cookies. Quickly, she cut a slice and found a saucer to put it on. Finding a fork, she took a bite of the red velvet cake and sighed in contentment. Aah. She was in fat kid heaven, even though she wasn't fat. She definitely would be visiting the kitchen more often. "You?"

Dylan chuckled. "Yeah anything fattening sounds like a plan." He took a cookie of the plate. "These look good." He took a bite out of them. Mmmm. Now that cake was too much. "That cake looks good. But far too much. Too chocolatey."

Dee nodded. "Thanks again for going with me, Dylan," she said. "Because of you, and the nurse, I'm no longer afraid of the hospital wing. I think you might be my new bff." She laughed. "There is never too much chocolate. And this is the perfect treat after having to drink that crazy potion. You missed it! Steam came out of my ears!" Now that she was feeling better, she found that fact funny. She giggled and took another bite of the cake.

"You are most welcome," Dylan smiled, "Your new bff? Hehe that sounds interesting. Never had one of them before. Are they a good thing?" He knew it was a best friend. But he hadn't had one before. Not a proper one anyway. "I thought it was best to stay in the waiting room. Steam coming out of yuor ears sounds like a classy feat."

Delanie returned Dylan's smile. But she was shocked by his next few sentences. "You've never had a best friend forever?" What the french, toast! She hugged him tight and said, "I'll be your bff! If you'll allow me, that is." She let him go, not wanting to choke him. Head shake. She was too clingy sometimes! She laughed. "I bet you would've enjoyed the image. I find it amusing myself."

"Well I haven't really ever had friends before. Met guys from the plays I have been in, but never real friends. Only child, and homeschooled. No chance for meeting anyone." Dylan shrugged. It wasn't something he had ever missed. "Now I have like 2 friends. Gold and Jake. And now you." He nodded, "I'd like that. Having a bff sounds like fun." What did they do?

"Oh I would've liked to have seen it now."

Delanie nodded. "I can relate. My parents kept me cooped up in the house at times. But I've met lots of awesome people here at Hogwarts, including yourself, and that makes me happy," she smiled. Her smile turned to a beam at his words. Eep! She was going to be the bestest BFF to him EVER. She was going to spoil him with cool trinkets and listen to him when he needed to talk and everything. How exciting! "I'm glad you think so!"

"I have met alot of cool people too. But a few incidents during the summer led to alot of enemies," Dylan chuckled. "Torin for one. But I think we are on better terms now. I'm not sure." He smiled. "So what do bffs do?" he asked. He was quite unsure after all.

Dee's ears perked up at the mention of her adopted brother. "What happened with you and Torin?" she asked. Torin was always a fascinating subject to her. She could never imagine him arguing with anyone besides Reese Upstead. And then he was asking what BFFs do. Gasp! "Well, I do all kinds of stuff for my bffs. I hang out with them, I listen to them when they need someone to talk to, I buy them stuff and I'm there for them." Because that's what bffs do, right?

"Well I dated Brody a bit during the summer," Dylan shrugged. That should explain everything right. He didn't need to say anymore. "Oh and Torin dated Gold. I was not impressed." Impressed was an understatement. Dreams of Torin-dragons being slayed was more of the thing. "Oh ok. I can do that. I think I do that anyway." Buy them things? He only ever bought things for events. Like special days.

Dee's eyes got big. Whoa. Everyone at Hogwarts had taken turns dating each other. It was like they switched relationships or something. Eh. It reminded her of that muggle show Gossip Girl that she always watched with Torin. Snort. "That's.... interesting," Delanie replied. She took another bite of her cake. Oh dear, it was all gone! She sliced another piece, ignoring the fact that her blood sugar would be through the roof.

She patted his arm. "Don't worry, buddy; being bffs with someone is natural. You'll catch on in no time." She walked over to where the coffee was and grabbed a cup, pouring herself some of the hot liquid. It wasn't as good as Italian espresso, but it would do. Returning to the table, she sat down and began eating her second piece of cake.

Dylan chuckled, "Interesting is a word for it. It is a soap opera in the making. Though both me and Torin are now with the people we truly love, so I don't see us dating anyone else. I know I won't be." He took another cookie. Mmm they were so good. Was there a gym at Hogwarts? He needed to work of any weight he had gained recently.

"Oh I am sure I am. I am a fast learner," he smiled. Hmmm was there a fridge somewhere round here. He wanted some pumpkin juice.

Delanie listened as Dylan spoke. "Well that's good, I suppose. But I thought you didn't believe in love?" That's what he had told her, anyway. She smiled crookedly at him. Dee DEFINITELY believed in love. There was no other word that could express how strongly she felt for Cody. "I'm sure you are."

"There are two concepts of love. I believe in one not the other. You have the concept of love from muggle movies and books. While the other is a deeper understanding of the person you wish to spend the rest of your life with. I believe in the latter rather than the former," Dylan nodded, "I don't think it is technically called love, but it has similar roots." Yes that's what he believed.
