The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

'Neither have I..I was in hospital with chicken pox',Namitha answered.'And,I'm an indian..I did my first year and second year in Boscott's Academy for Magic in USA.'.Looking at Elora's face,she could say that Elora was very pleased.That made Namitha happy.She felt that this could be the beginning of a good friendship.After all,she too had no friends at the school,as Elora.

Kellen came back into the common room and dropped himself down in a chair. There was no way he'd be able to find that blue mouse Raiden was talking about. The prefect would just have to be doomed to kneazle-dom.

With a sigh at the boy's predicament, he took out his books and started working on homework.

Kellen looked up from his homework, making sure a smile was on his face. He didn't smile when concentrating, and people who looked up from books with a frown tended to give the impression they didn't want to be bothered.

"Kellen Stern," maybe it was a bit formal, but he held out a hand to shake anyway, "fourth year. Enjoying second term so far?"

Elora shook his hand. "Elora DeRellington. It's nice to meet you. Whatcha working on there?" Elora said, eying his homework. He seemed like a very nice person. Elora wanted to get to know him.

He flipped back a few pages to the section he'd been reading earlier, "Curling: a game played on ice in which two teams of four players each compete in sliding large stones toward a mark in the center of a circle. They sweep the ice with brooms to make the stones go faster."

He looked back at her with a bemused smirk, "Sounds like a weird one to me."

"If I could explain everything Muggles did, I could take over for Lawson and teach the class," Kellen laughed. He thought it was a long shot, but supposed that he should ask anyway, "You haven't seen a blue mouse around anywhere, have you?"

Muggles were odd, but at least he knew this answer, "They don't know how to apparate, yeah? I'll agree with you about writing letters though, it does seem strange to press numbers and send a message. Anyway, why don't you pull up a chair? We can puzzle out these sports together or something."

"I'm originally from London. My parents died when I was very young. But a family friend of ours took me in and adopted me. After a while, we moved to Paris. All my life I've heard of Hogwarts, so my sister and I come here." Elora said. "Beauxbatons would be closer, but another reason... I find Beauxbatons snooty. I've been there. Both my sister and I didn't like it, so we decided to defnitely go to Hogwarts." Elora smiled"Where are you from?"

Okay, this time he wasn't starting with a description of how flame-proof Hogwarts seemed. The last thing he wanted was the pyromania rumour to get more fuel... as it were. "I'm from a small town North of here. A nothing place that thinks it's everything, if you know what I mean. I just transferred here this year, since my last school was burned down by an overly dramatic head boy. It was a snooty place too."

He couldn't help but laugh at that, "Fair enough."

The Kellen of five months ago would have commented on how strange it was to be going to school with girls, but he'd learned not to throw out potentially offensive comments like that any more. Instead he turned back to the textbook and said, "Without looking, what can you tell me about the Skeleton?"

"No kidding, look at some of the speeds people have reached!" Kellen pointed at the table in the book, but then wrinkled his nose at the picture beside it, "I don't think I'd want to do this one either, the uniforms aren't exactly... loose."

The only answer he could think of that wouldn't get him a demerit was to read the caption under the picture, "'These aerodynamic suits enable athletes to become more streamlined and attain greater speeds.' Wow, I can't even begin to describe how much that doesn't appeal to me."
