The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.
Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

Cela stepped into the common room, and looked around. It felt like coming home except that there was an important thing missing. Person. People. She was still going to do her best to put on a happy face though.
If she closed her eyes she could see him.
And that was enough to restore the smile to her face.

Nina followed Cela into the common room. It was amazing! She could already picture herself staying up, doing her homework. and watching the snow cover the mountains in the winter. This is going to be an increadible 7 years!
"Hi Cela. This place looks fantastic! Is that Rowena Ravenclaw??"

"Sure is. Isn't she beautiful?" Celandine opened her eyes and look up at the marble statue.
"I love it here." She told Nina. "Its so cosy."

Allison noticed Cela close her eyes, and wondered if her hero was alright, or if the sight of the room was overwhelming. Pulling lightly on her robes Allison asked, "Everything ok?"
Sure she was excited, and couldn't wait to be explained everything about the common rooms and where her room was, but in Allison's eyes, Cela came first.
Walking into the common room Anya was unsure of what to expect. Again. She was already having thoughts of when she would be able to know what everything looked like. It wasn't that she didn't like exploring or surprises, but she was tired of being new. That was why she came up early-to find her way around. She had actually gotten lost on the way up,but if anyone asked she would tell them she had found it straightaway.
The room itself was magnificent. She knew that she would love sitting by the windows at night and stare at the landscape. Something else that she like was the room was calming. I suppose they had to do that. Give the calming room to the ones who will stress themselves out with studying. She smiled to herself as she turned and soaked in the entirety of the room.
This was when she saw another student, but with the girl's eyes closed she decided to not bother her.
More students were starting to come in. And with that Anya decided to go back down to the Great Hall..or maybe explore some more...

Jude walked up to the common room alone.
'Can't seem to keep an eye on that boy.' he thought to himself moodily of his friend James who always seemed to disappear somewhere in the bustle and movement of the students. Sighing, he said the password to the eagle door knocker and entered the common room for the first time.
Looking around, he realized it greatly resembled his parlor in Australia and grinned at the fact that he felt much at home there.
Wooh! Tyler had finally made it to the common room. After feeling like it was forever, the Great Hall was bye bye for now. Tyler found an empty seat by a window and stared out of it. Ravvies had the view of moutains and the lake. They both shimmered in the light; which gave them a certain feel. Tyler flomped onto the seat and sighed. It was like a home away from home here.

"Well, make the most of it. Go ahead and sit down." Celandine gestured at the comfy chairs. "Your stuff will be in the dorm already." Celandine explained. "So you don't have to unpack for a while."

She looked up as other new students came in and she smiled at Jude. And who was that other boy? He looked around her age too.

Tiberius walked up to the common room, delighted that he'd finally get a chance to just... hang out. He didn't much care for the feasts. All those unknown professors and sick students and whatever else. At least there was no flying poo this year, he thought as he stepped through the portrait hole..
and was greeted by an entire room full of people he didn't know. Didn't recognize a single... oh wait. There was Cela. But that was it. He'd at least thought that being a returnign student he'd actually know people.
Guess not.
Truding over to a big comfy chair, he plopped down and watched all the new kids explore.

Damon walked into the common room. Here he was once again for the 2 time and it appeared that not much was different. Damon decided he would just stand since he was fairly sure that many students would want the couches. Damon found the nearest wall and stood near it. Now he waited to see who was new.

"Oh that's fantastic. Thank you." Nina sat herself in the seat Cela indicated.

Nina took another look around the room and saw that Jude boy.
"Hey Jude! Come sit over here. How do you like our common room? I'm loving it so far."

Allison nodded her head really fast, and although she didn't want to, her curiosity won and she left Cela's side.
Walking up quickly, Allison did a quick turn and laughed. Oh it was all so glorious to her. The room was wide and with a lot of space. The view, although dark outside, looked breath-taking. It reminded Allison much of the Rocky Mountains she Arya, and Sabel, had been discussing. What was most alluring to Allison was the ceiling. It was painted with stars! Giving the room, especially at night a feel of being outside.
Grinning to herself, Allison's joy vanished into astonishment. "Books!" Allison squeaked. Running towards the bookcases, Allison touched every book with reverence. Not that she could reach all the books, she was quite short. But she tried. Finally Allison painfully separated herself from the books and rushed to the large white marble Rowena Ravenclaw. A beautiful woman who's intelligence had been grand.
Allison sighed with contentment and forgot for that moment, that any cruel Scott had ever been in that house.
Turning around she gave Nina and Cela a big smile, "I love it!"

"Hi Tibi! Going to earn lots of points this term I hope?" Celandine greeted the little not-abraxan 2nd year. She grinned at him cheerfully. "Its good to see you again! I'm going to need your help with the Abraxans this term."

"Its just one of the perks of being a Ravenclaw." Cela answered.
"Ohhh I'm so glad that there are a bunch of awesome new Ravenclaws this term! We're going to win the cup for sure!"

Turning around she gave Nina and Cela a big smile, "I love it!"
Nina smiled back at Allison. "Me too!" She agreed excitingly.
"And I suppose we'll be in the same dormitory. At least that's what i read." She looked up at Cela for confirmation.
Following a prefect, Thana wandered up to the the Ravenclaw common room. Seeing her talking with another girl, she replied to the unspoken question, "Hi Nina! Yeah, according to Hogwarts, A History, all of the first years will be in the same dormitory. Hi, uh..." Thana trailed off, looking at the girl. "Oh, I'm Thana Angevine. Nice to meet you." She smiled hopefully. For a second she forgot that she was waiting for an answer because she had just gotten her first good look at the common room. "Oh my god. So many BOOKS!" she exclaimed in delight. She was about to run up to a shelf and grab the first one she saw, but then remembered that she was in the middle of a conversation. "Oh, right, sorry. So, what's your name?"
Anya walked back into the common room, after her expedition around the school, it was filled with many people now. The atmosphere is completely different from when she walked in earlier. She knows that she should talk to people...but that can wait. She is expecting many people to stay up late tonight chatting with new and old friends.
Looking around inconspicuously she slipped into the girls dorm...and the exploring continues (if not on a smaller scale).
Nina smiled back at Allison. "Me too!" She agreed excitingly.

Allison noticed the younger girls and smiled wickedly. Perhaps her besties Anastasia, Em, and Arya were sharing a room, but here she had another group she was sure to get acquainted with. Observing as one of the girls went into the rooms, Allison quickly followed. She wanted to see everything. True she promised Arya to walk with her, but when it came to the Ravenclaw Common Rooms, there was no wait.

"Hi Thana!" Nina responded. "This is Cela, she's a prefect."
"Oh. Cool! Hi Cela!" Turning back to Nina. "Do you want to go up to the dormitories? I bet we could grab a book and find a comfy spot, or at least see where we'll be sleeping and then come back down. That is, if you like to read, of course."

"Sure! I've been wanting to check the dormitories out, but didn't want to do it alone. And yes I love reading! Otherwise I doubt I'd be in Ravenclaw. Over half the random facts I know come from things I've remembered from a book!" Nina said to Thana. Then she walked up the staircase to the girls' dormitory.

Tiberius turned his head toward the voice, a huge grin spreading across his face. "Hi Cela!" Tiberius sat up a little straighter in his seat. "More than you," he answered her. That was his goal. More points than Celandine.
Maybe it would keep him out of trouble.
But his eyes lit up at the next bit. "You mean it? I can help with the abraxans?" He bounced a little in his seat. Ever since Copernicus and Celandine had told him about the abraxan named Tiberius, he'd wanted to.
And he was going to get his chance!

Kellen entered the common room with more nerves than he wanted, but he was in for a pleasant surprise. While he took in the room his normal slightly-arrogant look departed from his face, and he stared around at the colours. It was all so... tasteful. Beautiful, oh yes, but whoever designed this room knew how much was too much and how much was just right.
There were a lot of students already there, but he sidestepped them in favour of reading the motto of Rowena Ravenclaw. "Wit beyond measure..." he murmured the first half to himself before finishing the rest in head head. Well, this motto certainly fit snugly with his personal one.
He only hoped all the common rooms were this nice.
