Jason walked into the Great Hall expecting something amazing. And yet he was amazed. The ceiling was what did the trick. Jason looked around and found the Gryffindor House Table. Surprisingly no one was seated. So he headed in that direction and sat down once he reached the table. He looked at the other tables and sighed. Where are the Gryffindors? He thought.

Blink. Daphne tilted her head and looked at Raiden for some seconds. Hehe. He had just been cute all of a sudden. Apologizing and whatnot. "You're hungry," she stated redundantly. "Growing boys get hungry. Let's go."

Almost, almost, Daphne offered her hand. Instead, she brought it up to rub at one cheek before starting off in the direction of the hall.

The first thing Raiden noticed when he entered the hall, slightly before Daphne, was that there were people at the Slytherin Table acting all dramatic and stuff. So... yeaaaaah. He was hungry and didn't want to play, so he immediately turned toward the Gryffindor Table. There was only one person there, someone he didn't know; Raiden stopped at a spot away from him, so as not to disturb him, and grabbed a green apple from a bowl of fruit on the table before motioning for Daphne to sit.

He didn't wanna be able to see the Slytherin Table, so he sat with his back to it. Hehe.

"I had better not keep growing. I'm already taller than you, if I get much taller I think I'll have set records for most growth in a two year span."

The Slytherin table was being.... "Oh, my," she said and one hand went to grab at Raiden's arm--Raiden's arm...Raiden's arm? Blinking, Daphne realized he was already sitting down with his back turned towards his table. Blinking yet again, Daphne took a seat as she was instructed.

"Nothing wrong with being tall, Raiden," said Daphne, squinting at the fruit bowl. "As long as you're all proportionate. It wouldn't do for your head to be too big for your body."

Or too small. Like a kumquat. Come to think of it, how come Hogwarts never had any in their fruit bowls? Hmmm.

"When I last checked, I was 5'8"..." he glanced at her as he took a bite out of the apple, chewing it and swallowing before finishing what he was saying. "And I was 5'5" last term. Three inches? I can't keep having spurts like that, I'll run out of clothes."

His pants would be far too short.

Hmmm. Apples were good with... he eyed the table. Nope. Nothing to put with it. Sad. He settled for taking another big bite from it; it was a good apple. Not mealy or gross. Nom.

"Am I proportionate?" He looked down at his chest, eyes following his body down to his legs under the table. They'd gotten a lot longer; when he'd first gotten to Hogwarts, he was probably lucky if his feet touched the floor when sitting. "I hope I am. If I keep growing it might throw that off though."

...how had they ended up talking about his growing again? Hopefully this wouldn't lead back to talking about feet.

Giving up on the fruit bowl, Daphne settled for propping her elbow on the table. Holding her head up with the aid of her hand, Hopton watched Raiden eat with a lazy gaze. Hmm.

Daphne followed the path Raiden's eyes created as best as she could. She was hindered though, by the table itself and her seating position.

"I don't know," she said after some thought. "You're a bit lanky. I guess you can work on that though."

Lanky. Lanky. Raiden's mind worked to call up exactly what that word meant. Some of the... connotations for it weren't exactly nice. But she'd said a bit, so maybe the clumsy part was the bit left out! Yes. Because... Raiden wasn't that clumsy.

"How do I work on that?" he wondered, looking under the table at his feet again. "'s just a nicer way of saying I'm gangly, isn't it?"

Hmmm. That would require working out and stuff, to fix, wouldn't it? Maybe he could just see if Kiri would have him on as a Beater whenever it was needed? He didn't really... do that working out thing.

Which is why he was lanky. Heh.

Daphne threw the fruit bowl a wistful glance. Still no Kumquats. Sighing, she leaned across the table as best as she could. "Raiden," said Daphne, crooking one finger at him. "I'm going to let you in on a secret...."

Raiden was in the middle of chewing a big bite of the apple, which... he was getting rid of rather quickly... when Daphne did that pointing at him thing again. He stopped chewing, stared for a second, then resumed his chewing. And finally, after swallowing, he nodded.

"Yes?"

Before she spoke, Daphne looked at the fruit bowl. Well, poo. WHY weren't there any kumquats? "Girls, Raiden," said the blond and cupped one hand next to her mouth. "Like arms. You work on that."

...but he didn't need any more girls coming after him. Raiden stared at Daphne for a second before his face turned pink and he focused on his apple again. Or... the little bit that was left of it. Were there more? He was still hungry.

"I'll... see what I can do." It wouldn't hurt him to have a little bit more strength in his arms than he had already. He couldn't let girls stop him from doing stuff, right? RIGHT?

Munch munch munch.

"...They're not really that small," he mumbled finally. They weren't. He'd removed her from the windowsill last term, hadn't he? And he and his father had been practising quidditch all summer... including Beater practise, as Raiden had made it clear that he was not, under any circumstances, a Seeker. They were actually bigger than they'd been last term. They were just... not as big as other guys' arms.

Why was he even worried about it? HE WASN'T.

Evanna sat down at the Gryffindor table like she has been doing for the last weeks since she had been sorted. she looked for her best friends: rose weasly, lily potter and alice longbottom. alice already left early for breakfeast and rose and lily woke up when evanna left for the great hall.
at last she has found alice sitting in the middle of the table. alice was very kind and much like evanna her parents had met the famous harry potter (alice's dad was in harry's grade and one of his closest friends - neville longbottom; who is now the herbology profeesor and head of the gryffindor house.)
evanna sat next to alice and they both waited until rose and lily came down to eat them and join them for their morning classes - the first one history of magic with the hufflepuffs

Hehehe! There he went! Being cute again. Humming, Daphne reached out for the fruit bowl and pulled it towards her. She'd just...take out all the fruits and organize them by color to keep herself still.

Because she really wanted a kumquat and it didn't seem like she was going to be getting one anytime soon.

"Well, I guess they aren't." she commented, pushing away a banana. "But I only have some arms to compare you to and they're all bigger than yours. Although," she paused to think, turning her eyes and face up at the enchanted ceiling. "No, I think you're bigger than Jack and Tino."

It wasn't a surprise, that he had smaller arms than other guys. He had never been worried about it, for one. And he hadn't exactly been allowed to overexert himself and stuff, so... hmph.

A weird little pride bubble DID happen in his stomach when she said he was bigger than Jack and Tino, though. Why, he wasn't sure. But it was there! Seemingly caused by the affirmation that he was not as small and skinny as he used to be.

Heh.

"What are you looking for in there?" he asked finally, setting the core of his finished apple aside. Still hungry. He had been eating a lot, since the summer. His father had even pointed it out to him. Hmm.

He plucked another green apple, upsetting whatever Daphne was doing to that fruit bowl.

Daphne let out a gasp. Soon after that, her brown-green eyes landed heavily on Raiden Kururugi's face. "I was busy using that you know," she whined pushing the grapes faaar and away from her. "You've ruined the whole composition of the bowl."

There was a lack of green. That wasn't right.

Raiden took a bite out of the apple, looking at the bowl in confusion. Again. She needed an apple for the... composition of the bowl? What? Silently he pulled out his wand and summoned an apple from the fruit bowl on the other end of the table, letting it hover in front of Daphne's face.

Hehe.

"Are you arranging the fruit bowl, Daphne?"

Before she could whine any further, Raiden had fixed the problem by summoning her an apple. Everyone was so eager to use their wands around this place! It almost made her feel like a muggle.

And she was a pureblood!

"I have nothing better to do," answered the Gryffindor, plucking the apple from the air. "And there's no kumquats."

...No kumquats. So she was organising the fruit bowl. Raiden chewed his apple, trying not to laugh. Daphne did silly things when there were no kumquats? Merlin have mercy on them should none appear any time soon.

"Did you check the other bowls? Or... you could ask the house elves, I'm sure they'd find you some."

Pause.

"Or you could try something else." He held out his apple. "These are really good, you know."

Daphne considered the possibility of putting the grapes on the bottom. Would the oranges and bananas be too heavy? She just liked the idea of having a bubbly grape like bed...for the fruit. It just sounded (and looked) cute. Hmph.

"Why don't you summon me one, Mister Magic?" she murmured, picking up an orange. "They look like oranges but they're not oranges. Have you ever seen a kumquat?"

...Stare.

Daphne was so odd sometimes. Really. Raiden wasn't sure if it was sad or not, that she was his 'normal' friend.

"Of course I have. I've been to the market with dad, we went through the produce section."

Withdrawing his apple, he took a bite of it and pointed his wand at the fruit bowl down the table again.

Nothing.

Hmmm.

He turned in his seat and, ignoring the people at the Slytherin Table (Merlin only knew what they were doing), he pointed his wand at the fruit bowl nearest them.

Something small and orange leapt into the air, and Raiden grinned. There were kumquats. Daphne just had to look.

Levitating the thing closer, he held it over the fruit bowl for a second before dropping it gently in.

"All you have to do is LOOK, Daph."

Daphne was going to look when she had Raiden to do it for her! Plus, he owed her. Starting today, he was going to owe her HIS LIFE. She wasn't going to tell him just yet, though. Let him figure it out little by little, heh.

"Have you ever had candied kumquats? They're really delicious but I don't get to have them much because there's too much sugar in it. Mother has a bit of a fit whenever Davis brings some home."

Poor Davis. Everyone yelled at him. Heh.

Munch. Munch. This apple was quickly disappearing too.

When had his stomach become a bottomless pit? Raiden swallowed his mouthful of apple and wiped his lips against the back of his hand. Sticky apple juice. Nom.

"Candied kumquats?" he repeated. "I can't say I have. Maybe I'll write dad about them and he'll send some though. I doubt the house elves... have those."

Even though they seemed to have everything. There were limits, of course. Maybe at Halloween, they would? For dessert stuff? Eh. Didn't know.

"I've actually never had... kumquats," he finally said, hesitantly. "I just know what they look like from the store. Dad never bought them. He buys apples for me, and pears for himself, he likes those."

Raiden Kururugi just kept eating. Daphne wrinkled her brow. For a moment she wondered where it all went. Before Daphne could gesture at her mouth to demonstrate where Raiden needed to clean he was on the move; being all unhygienic and boy like. Ew.

"House elves...." she murmured and grumbled to herself. They really were NOT as efficient as people thought they were. "See, I don't trust..."

He never had a kumquat before?! Appalled and feeling VERY sorry for Raiden, Daphne picked up the kumquat immediately and held it in front of his face. "Eat the kumquat, Raiden, before I start crying."

"Don't trust what?"

Apple was almost gone. Merlin, he was really hungry today, wasn't he. It was a few bites away from being finished when... Daphne held out her kumquat. Hello kumquat, right in Raiden's face. He leaned back ever so slightly and looked around the fruit.

"...why would you start crying? That's your kumquat, you eat it... are you allergic to them or something? That you suddenly don't want to eat it?"

He was allergic to pumpkin, so it was completely possible that she was allergic to kumquats. Maybe that was why her mum got all mad whenever... Davis? Yes, that was the name. Whenever Davis brought them home.

He took it from her, just in case. What if she did eat it and got sick because she was allergic? And this was her way of avoiding eating it?

Natalie approached the Gryffindor table, hesitant about where to sit. The table was fairly empty, and since she didn't know anyone there, she chose to sit alone. She didn't exactly mind eating alone, especially since she didn't know many people at the school yet. However, it would be nice to have a dining companion. She looked around, but the others at the table looked too absorbed in their own conversations to pay her any mind. She didn't blame them, though. I mean, she was only a first year. She sighed happily and dug into her pork chops.
