It was normal for his father to be out of the country around December 25th because that was around the time that his wife and Jude's mother had passed away. The holidays were always hard for the two men but Jude finally came out of his revery.

"So you'll be by yourself for Christmas?" she asked him. She had never been by herself for Christmas. It had always been with family. Her family or her Beaxbatons family.

Where would she be for Christmas? Oh that's right. "I'm going home. I haven't really had a Christmas with my crazy brother's or parents for a while. I expect Briony will be there with her boyfriend and grandpa along with my older brother and his wife." If she was correct, her sister in law was going to be to the family soon. Her niece. Was she going to be a good aunt?

"Yes I will be here and alone for Christmas." Jude said with a nod of his head. However, it did not seem to faze the boy because it wasn't the first time he had been alone. Jude was used to being solitary.

Jude smiled gently as Thalia described how she would be with her family. "Sounds brilliant." he said with another smile. "I expect you'll have loads of fun then."

She just couldn't imagine Jude being alone for Christmas. "I want you to come to my house for Christmas," she told him. No one would mind another person. Besides everyone wanted to meet him anyway. "That is if you want to," Thalia added. "And your dad doesn't mind."

Jude looked at Thalia, a gleam of happiness sparking in his eyes. "Y-you want me to come to your house, for Christmas?" he asked the girl as he began beaming despite himself. Leaning close to kiss her gently on the nose, Jude whispered, "I would love to come to your house. I know my father won't mind." To be honest, his father would probably never find out and that suited Jude all the same.

Going to Thalia's for Christmas. It was exciting and nervewracking at the same time. He wanted to be with her since they were together and in love, but what would her family think of him?

"Yes," she nodded with a grin. "I sort of assumed that but just didn't want to go and say it," Thalia figured and smiled as he kissed her nose. It would be quite an experience. Christmas was always a house full of commotion. As much as she was glad not to be decorating the house this year she was still happy. Maybe Willie would set the house on fire again like last year. Her mum had sent her a letter at Beaxbatons.

"You'll enjoy it. Besides, it will give you an idea of what I have to put up with every day." Her brother's would, she hoped, behave. Maybe one of their friend's will invite them to their house for Christmas. That would mean two less boy's.

"Brilliant." Jude said leaning in to kiss Thalia properly. He was glad that he didn't have to sit in his dormitory all day like he had last year in Australia.

"I'm sure you're family is not that bad." he added with a small grin. He was going to try and make a good first impression on her family members, hoping that they would like him enough to approve of his and Thalia's relationship.

She chuckled. "They aren't terrible. Just my brother's. I'm hoping somehow I can con them into staying with their friends. Or at least Ethan and Willie. They're the worst. Every Christmas that I remember one of them sets something on fire. Then when it comes to opening presents--," she shook her head momentarily. "You just have to keep your eyes open." Cause they throw presents and it hurts if it hits you.

"Sets something on fire?!" Jude exclaimed a little taken a back by the thought of Thalia's pyromaniac brothers. "I guess I'll just have to stay as far away from them as possible if they do end up staying at your house for Christmas instead."

Jude chuckled at the mention of throwing presents. "Don't worry Thal, I've got catlike reflexes. No present will harm me."

Thalia laughed at his expression. "Yes, I just hope when Willie grows up his head will level out. If anything though, I believe he'll be another potioneer lie my grandparents were. Ethan claims he's going to start a wizarding skateboard shop. Remake muggle skateboards into wizarding ones. My brother's are just so different though," she told him. Too bad Patrick wasn't coming for Christmas.

"Someday," she began thoughtfully. "You'll have to meet my cousin Patrick. He goes to Durmstrang but is in our year. It seems as if you two would get along," Thalia explained. Patrick always seemed friendly but could explode like Jude at times.

She laughed again. "Then we'll just have to put them to the test won't we?"

"That sounds like they both have exciting careers ahead of them." Jude said with a fond smile. At least they knew what they wanted to do. For all Jude knew, he would either have to follow in the footsteps of his father, or turn to being a Muggle musician with his guitar.

"Durmstrang?" Jude asked with an arched brow. "Does he like all that Dark Arts stuff that Durmstrang is so known for?"

He grinned and finally let out a chuckle. "Bring it on Miss Munroe."

Thalia nodded. "Nah, Patrick wished he were here. As far as I hear from him, he likes to get up to no good. His parents are pretty strict on his future," she explained. Poor, poor Ryan. "Oh and let me not forget my best friend's in love with him," she added with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh don't worry. I will," she replied. Just you wait and see Jude, she thought.

He grinned wickedly at the girl, excited that she had brought up his challenge. Jude would have to be on his toes on by any means necessary.

"Well maybe she'll come to a realization that it may not work out." he said quietly. It wasn't that Jude was at all trying to be mean about the subject, but that's how love worked sometimes.

Jude felt his face blush and he smiled warmly this time. "Should I take that as a compliment or something Thal?"

"Long distance relationships never work out," she whispered as a matter of factly. "I hope she'll get over him. Maybe not. Besides, some Slytherin likes her." Patrick and Jude were both protective and the girl's didn't like it that much. Guess that was something that had in familiar.

She shrugged with a mischevious glint in her eye. "If you want it to," Thalia grinned.

"I just have a really bad headache is all. But I wouldn't want to miss classes tomorrow so I think I should try and get some rest." Jude said with a weak grin, that turned into a wince. "Ugh, Thal. I really am sorry that I have to leave." he leaned close and kissed her forehead. "Do you want to meet sometime tomorrow?"

"Ahhh, I'm sorry," she sympathized. She giggled. "Yes, we wouldn't want you to miss classes would we?" She would probably skip classes if she had a headache or didn't feel good. "No that's okay," she assured him. "I better do some homework or go find someone to talk to," she figured. Not that she knew of who to talk to exactly. "Yeah, of course I would," she replied, getting up and grabbing her guitar.

Pierre shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe that's what it is. Most of them are rather strange." Especially Rosalie. He nodded his head to show that he was listening. "That has to stink. That's how most of my friends were at Beauxbaton's." One left after another, and then I would've been left almost alone this year had I stayed.

She couldn't remember.

Frown. Frown. Frown. Frown.

It was when a little red head had successfully walked halfway to the hospital that the girl stopped worrying about people staring at her with horror and started to wonder how she had ended up in this mess and the thing was, Madiison Winloch could not remember. Nothing crossed her mind which could explain the phenomenon. And it scared her.

In fact, so absorbed was she with prodding her brains into telling her exactly HOW she had ended up with enlarged teeth which seemed to peek out of her mouth even when it was close, and bruises and cuts which RUINED her pretty skin, that she did not look where she was walking.

At all.
