The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

Jenn laughed as she watched the cats run around the common room. The Luna jumped of her lamp and joined in. "Wow. There must be something in the air."Jenn said laughing.

Mariska walked back into the common room after being out for a bit and she happened to come in after a slight disturbance in the blue and bronze hued room. A boy was walking about, talking loudly about something and a trail of floating plants and other odds and ends were following him. She gave him a wide berth and a little bit of an odd look as she passed by him.

Last time he was in the medi wing- he nearly got stuck there for the entire day and he had had plans with his lake-water filled aquarium today. And he had thought he'd go for a stroll down to fruit grove.

Valentine rolled her eyes at the boys... worriedness? Well whatever it was, Cale really had no reason for it. "Fine then mister. You have five digits up. Is that better? I don't need to go anywhere. My head is fine." It was rather funny- but still. Valentine did not need to be pushed anywhere. Especially the hospital wing on the first day of her being here. That would be, well it would just be bad luck.

Eddy stepped carefully through the door, Buddy the bat hanging from his forearm and squeaking a blistering scolding. "I said I'm sorry, Buddy. Geez! It's not like I left you in the owlry on purpose. I just thought all the winged creatures went up there. I'm sure they didn't mean to hurt your feelings."

Buddy made a sound that was suspiciously similar to 'pfft' and then folded his wings over his head - an obvious indication the conversation was closed and he was not the least bit mollified by Eddy's excuses.

Heaving an aggrieved sigh, Eddy gave up. You just couldn't argue with a bat. How was he to know that bats and owls were competitors? Or that owls could be so mean - really, all that pooping on Buddy's cage was so uncalled for! It had been heck to clean off.

"Hey guys," Eddy sidled up to Cale and Valentine. Surely they had an interesting poop-free first day and Eddy hoped they'd be up for sharing.

"If you're sure - then I'm going to - Ed-man!" He tilted his head looking at the bat. "What's wrong with Buddy?" He shifting his wand to his left hand and the flowing flower pots and aquarium. Two of the terracotta plants knocked together. "Out exploring the grounds? Did you see the fruit groves yet? Both of you?"

Valentine looked up quickly as Cale aid Eddie's name. She didn't really mean to look so excited. A small blush came and went across her face- as she hoped no one really caught how fast she looked up. "Oh Buddy." She smiled at a bat which was obviously pouting. She rubbed the bat's back with her index finger for a moment and then looked up at Eddi and smiled.

Did you see the fruit groves yet? Both of you? Valentine looked over at Cale as she put her sketch book into a dark green purse she was carrying with her. "I haven't seen any of Hogwarts other than the great hall, here, and the path between the two places."

Ludo answered the question at the door (something about manipulative charming) and gained access to the Common Room.
With a sigh of relief he looked around the room and smiled, happy to be back.

A few Ravenclaws were dotted around the room. He didn't see anyone familar or feel like introductions just yet so he headed for the Dormitory with a quick apraisal for the statue of Ravenclaw by the door.

"Haven't really seen anything except the inside of the owlry and the great hall," Eddy replied. He caught Valentine looking at him and flushed.

"How about you show us around?" Eddy suggested quickly, veering away from anything having to do with owls or with Valentine's personal attractions - such as the 'My, Miss Valentine, you do look charmingly peaked today' that was on the tip of Eddy's tongue. Besides, Cale might vomit if Eddy got sentimental. And vomit was about as romantic as owl poop.

"Um..." Eddy looked at Cale's armful, "are you planning to...er...take those for a walk or something?" He gestured to the aquarium in particular. You just never knew with Cale...

"Nope, I was on my way up to our dorm when Valey decided to knock her head into one of my pots. Let me dispose of these. You two - make sure you have your wellies on." He chuckled at his joke and then went up the stairs pots and aquarium leading the way.

Valentine giggled softly as Ed asked Cale if he was taking them for a walk. Oh an amusing sight- but of what she knew of Cale so far, the fifth year wouldn't be too surprised if that just happened. But it wasn't Cale just hurried off to his dorm to put it all away.

"Oh our wellies? Well that is never a good sign." She smiled looking at Eddie. Valentine took a quick glance at her feet where they wiggled in a pair of black sneakers- nothing close to a boot at all.

"Wellies?" Eddy repeated blankly. "Is that some sort of foot thing?" he asked, noting Valentine's allusion to her shoes. Eddy chewed the inside of his lip, trying to decipher what a wellie was and whether it would hurt his (largely imaginary) manly image to wear/do/have one. Face it, secondary school could be brutual - one false move and social pariahism for life.

So it seemed as though not everyone knew what a wellie was. "A rubber boot Ed." She said as they waited from Cale to finished whatever he was doing. And whatever he was doing was taking him a little long. Well it was a little long for an impatient girl- and Valentine? Oh yes she could get impatient. But she would keep quiet and not say anything as they waited for their friend.

Cale bounced down the stairs two at a time some squeaky rubber rain boots on his feet. It had rained recently and Cale expected the fruit grove to have muddy floors. "Ready to go? I hope the plum tree's got fruit. We have great plum trees on the grounds." He slipped between Eddy and Valey who were facing each other and bounded to the door.

"Rubber boots?" Eddy repeated. He shook his head and chuckled. "Crazy brits." A moment of silence - awkward as such silences could be - where Eddy both stared and tried to appear like he wasn't staring at Valentine. "How's your --" And then Cale was at their elbow...and passing between them, practically out the door.

"I guess we won't have time to get our rubber boots after all," Eddy commented to Valentine before heading after Cale. Buddy mumblechirped from underneath his wings at the jostling caused by the movement.

Cale 2 came and he was carrying a whole pond "Cale tw...I mean Ravie Cale its nice to see you but do you have to bring those?"

Samson just about died when he entered the Common Room. Sure, the room was the way it used to be 2 terms ago. There was no more white! YES! The furniture was uncovered and unplastic-ed, and that horrible portrait of the Minister was out of the way. The Common Room was as cozy as ever.

Of course, if you disregarded the presence of girls.

Ah yes. As much as Samson hated the ambience and look of the Common Room last term, he had rather enjoyed the peace and quiet that the absence of girls presented. The boys were noisy, too, and rowdier no doubt, but there was just something different with boy noise and girl noise, in a guy's ears.

This was not peace and quiet.

Eh. He could always think of the advantages. He didn't have to go around looking for Sabrina if Gavin wasn't around. He wouldn't have to wonder what the girls were doing (not that he ever did). He didn't have to put up with any drama about not returning certain girls' letters, for instance.... He couldn't think of any more advantages. Blah. The school separation was finally over, and everyone seemed happy about it. Hoo-rah.

Lazily, he dragged his feet to the nearest squashy couch and sat facing the fire. It was good to be home.

Rachel entered the common room and gasped. "Wow," she thought to herself, "I really love Hogwarts, this common room is the best!!" Holding Cloudy and Sky's cage close to her, she wandered around the room, smiling asent mindedly at all the lovely little details. She could tell she was going to have fun this term.
Finally getting tired, she spotted an empty chair, sat down and began to watch the people. They looked nice, but what worried her was that they all had friends. She sighed and looked down at the tiny white cat in her hand, "At least I have you, Cloudy."

Livvy yawned as she had set the cat down. "Talk to you guys later," she whispered softly to the cats and stood up. She looked around and found her original seat vacant. Livvy resumed her original position and pulled out her book.

Ludo came back downstairs to the Common Room. He found more people had arrived but none that he knew.
Save your introductions... he thought.

He wanted to revisit all his favorite places at Hogwarts. And with that, he left exited through the Common Room passage.
