Taking down notes very fast,Diana raised her hand and said a bit fast,"We can calculate our Personal Day Number if we add the current calendar date to our own respective Personal Month Number."She bit her lip nervously hoping that she was right.

Jessica raised her hand to answer: "You calculate the personal year number by adding up the number of the calendar day and your personal month number.", hoping she was right.

Faye raised her hand even though a lot of people had already answered right. "The personal day number is found by adding your personal month number to the calender day."

Professor Shackleton listen, with a pleased smile across her face, as her students answered her question correctly. She confirmed, "The Personal Day Number is calculated by adding the number of the calendar day to the number of your Personal Month. One point to each person who answered correctly."

Macadrian explained, "I'd like for everyone to calculate your Personal Day numbers for today and for tomorrow please. Just for these two days. Then we're going to learn how to tie the Personal Year, Month, and Day Numbers together to understand the big picture, and that is where Professor Vindictus will be helping us."

Macadrian smiled at Professor Vindictus before glancing quickly at the door, then at the windows, and then back at the door. She then returned her gaze to her students and remembered to bring the smile back to her mouth.

CHris raised his hand and said "my personal day number for today is 7 and tomorrow's will be 8."

Goodness, all these Personal whatsits, along with all those numbers were beginning to make things rather confusing. Personal Year.. Personal Month.. Personal Day.. Clifford barely knew which was which anymore. Bleh!

He looked up at Miss Shackleton with a frown, only to look quickly back down at his textbook. EEP! He couldn't ask for help, he'd look like a baby! "Erm - I ... I think my Personal Day number for today is.. 8." He thought outlide, brow furrowed in major confusion. "Which I guess means tomorrow's will be 9?"

Astrid took at her parchment and figured out all of the calculations to find her Personal Day Numbers. She wrote down:

Personal Year Number = month of birth + day of birth + current calendar year

7 + 25/7 + 2066/14/5 = 19/10/1

Personal Month Number = Personal Year Number + reduced calendar month number

1 + 11/2 = 3

Personal Day Number = the number of the calendar day + your Personal Month Number.

Today’s Personal Day Number is: 4 + 3 = 7
Tomorrow’s Personal Day Number is: 5 + 3 = 8

Then she raised her hand and said, "Professor, my Personal Day numbers for today and tomorrow are 7 & 8."

Anna picked up her quill and set to work on her calculations. Thinking quickly, she remembered that she'd figured out her Personal Month Number for November was 8. Flipping back through her notes to verify, she read:

So November was in fact an 8. Now all she had to do was add that 8 to the number of the calendar day.

(08) + (04) = 12
(1+2) = 3

Then, she needed to do the calculations for tomorrow, as well.

(08) + (05) = 13
(1+3) = 4

Anna raised her hand. "Professor, I'm not sure if I've done this correctly, but I believe my personal day numbers are 3 and 4," she said.

Dominic listened to the Professor as she told them what to do next. Blinking a few times, he sighed quietly when she told them to calculate their personal day numbers. Meh!? Well that would be easy enough to do if he only knew what day it was. OH how Hogwarts makes thee lose track of time . . .

Raising his hand, "Uh Professor?" the fourth year spoke up quietly. "Pardon me, but what is today's date?"

Cale pulled out a piece of parchment so he could calculate. He tried to remember off the top of his head the number from his homework...he was pretty sure it was 4. Yes, that was it.

There. He smiled at his work and raised his hand. "If my calculations are correct, my personal day number for today is 8 and my personal day number for tomorrow is 9."

Rachel quickly wrote down her calsulations on her pachment, careful to keep them neat.

"Professor, if I'm right in my calculations, then my Personal Day Number for today is 7 and for tomorrow it's 8," she said as she raised her hand and read her results from her page. She looked up to see if she had gotten it right.
Lowering her hand, she waited for everyone to finish, curious and eager to discover why Professor Vindictus was here. She watched the professor closely, and her eyebrows furrowed together as she observed her weird behaviour. Something's not right with Professor Shacklton... But what?

Macadrian noticed the frown on Clifford's face and headed over to his desk, "Why the frown, Clifford? Do you not like your Personal Day Numbers or do you have a question about how to calculate them?"

Professor Shackleton glanced over Astrid's calculations and commended her, "Very good. Your Personal Day Numbers are in fact 7 and 8 for those two days."

Shackleton stopped by Anna's desk and looked over her numbers, "You've done it perfectly. Nice work, Miss Greingoth."

Professor Shackleton glanced at Dominic and replied, "The date is two days passed when I should have received my cookies. And it is also the fourth."

OOC: We're going to use Nov. 4th & 5th of 2066 as the dates for the sake of simplicity.

"Excellent work, Cale." Professor Shackleton commented as she passed by his desk.

Professor Shackleton reviewed Rachel's work and confirmed, "Yes, dear. You've done them right."

OOC: Most people have used the dates of the 4th and 5th since that was when the question was introduced, but you're fine if you use the 5th and 6th.

Making her way back to the front of the room, Professor Shackleton requested, "I'd like for you to quickly look up what those personal day numbers mean for your days and think about how accurate they may be and how they might apply."

Since Diana's personal month number was 8 for the month of November,she started doing her calculations:--

For 4th November,2066:-- (08)+(04)
=12
=(1+2)
=3
For 5th November,2066:--(08)+(05)
=13
=(1+3)
=4

Raising her hand she said to te professor,"My personal day number for today is 3 and for tomorrow is 4....."She looked up the influence of these numbers and then gulping rather nervously,she continued,"My personal day number for today is 3.This probably means that today I'll be creative and a bit...er.....more friendly with friends.This may be quite accurate and may help in strengthening some broken friendships and may help...er....in creating some creative works."

Stopping for breath,she said a bit more confidently,"For tomorrow as my Personal Day number is 4,I'll probably need to pay more attention to health and get organised.This means that perhaps I may be a bit ill and so pay attention to health and perhaps I will need to do some work with a group of people for which I'll have to organise and adjust to some extent with others."Diana looked nervously at the Professor,hoping and hoping that she was correct.

Oh goodness. A scarlet flush creeped up his neck and left the tips of his ears burning pink when Miss Shackleton approached his desk. Oh noes. All thoughts seemed to leave his already confuzzled brain and he shook his head quickly, shuffling nervously on his seat of daisies. "Nuu.. uhm - I erm.. I'm o-okay.." He stammered helplessly and mentally kicked himself for being such an idiot. Now she'd REALLY think he was a baby. Siiigh. "Th - Thanks Ma'am." He mumbled before looking down at his textbook and praying his cheeks would cool down.

What were his Personal Day Numbers again? "Well, according to the text book, today, which is an eight is a day for handling money and taking charge.." Well, that sounded kinda boring. "And tomorrow, which is nine, is a day to finish up and to use my - my.." Aww man, what did that word say? ".. my - in..too..ishun?"

Miles raised his eyebrow slightly, and tried to listen in his mindwhat the quetion was again. He began to like Arithmancy, yet the numbers still liked to confuse him.

5+5 = 10
1+0 = 1.

6th November 2088

6+5 = 11
1+1 = 2.

Beng a little bit pesimistic, he checked the work again, and then raised his hand. "My personal day numbers for today and tomorrow are 1 and 2, ... I think." He trailed off. Meh, he'd be fine.

Astrid looked over her textbook for the meanings of the numbers 7 and 8 in regards to Personal Day Numbers.
Astrid thought hard about how each meaning could translate into her daily activities. Then she raised her hand and said, "Ma'am, this says that for today, I will want to spend my time thinking about everything that's been going on in my life. And that makes a great deal of sense actually because I have been going through some changes lately and haven't exactly been able to gauge how I feel about them."

She blushed a little at her own uncanny honesty. For some reason, she always shared more than she should in this class. She smiled at the professor and continued. "And according to this, tomorrow will be a day to deal with my finances and "take charge". Well the money part doesn't really apply to me but I'm am curious to know what I will be able to take charge over. That's actually quite interesting."

Evangeline was feeling really uncomfortable. Not only Vindictus was here (which made her scared they could have to fly), Clifford was also being weird! He was sitting on daisies - that she was sure weren't for her - and acting totally ... well, weird towards Shackleton. Hmm. Surely he ... Eh. Of course not.

Giving her head a small shake and moving her leg a tiny bit, she looked down at her calculations. "Well, my personal day number for today is 3, so tomorrow's is 4." She flipped through the pages of the book till she found the interpretations page and read what they said. "Hmmm. According to the textbook, today is a day for creativity. That kinda applies because I've been trying to come up with ways of getting Slythies into doing more homework and I definitely need to be creative for that." She chuckled slightly before clearing her throat. Aaah. Too much information! "It also says it's a day in which I'll feel the communicate." Ah. That explained why she was talking too much.

"About tomorrow, it says I'll get organized. Maybe that means I'll come up with a solution today?" Hmmm. That'd be good. "And I should attend to my health ... so no walking around without a cloak." Pffft. That sounded like something she'd do. Not.

Rachel smiled as the professor said that she was right, and set to work at finding out what those numbers meant. After a quick read through the book, she lifted her head, raised her hand and said, "Well, today is six, which means that today I'm focusing on my work and family. This is really true, since I sent a letter today to my... er, uncle," her voice wobbled and broke slightly on the word uncle, "And tonight, I planned on having a homework night" (like you don't have one every night!) "which shows that I am indeed following my Personal Day definition.
"Tomorrow will be a number seven. Like it says in the book, sometimes you don't feel the personal day influence. An example of that is tomorrow, since the chances of me resting are very small, since I'm visiting the Ministry tomorrow." She blushed, having realised that she might have said too much. Great! Now the whole school will know. "What I mean is, the influence of this number will not affect me tomorrow, as I probably won't do what is describes."
She lowered her hand, still blushing. She jotted down her answer, and pressed the quill so hard into the page that it broke. Annoyed and angry with herself, she took out another one and dipped it in the ink automatically, waiting for more information to write down.

Cale flipped through his book and scanned the page quickly looking for the explanations of his numbers. "According to the book, today is a good day for me to handle money and take charge, and tomorrow I should finish up whatever I have yet to finish...doing, I guess, and use my intuition."

Miles looked through his textbook, again using his finger to scan the sentences.

"Thank you, Professor Shackleton," Anna said, happy that she'd done the calculations correctly. Now...on to looking up what those numbers meant for her. Anna flipped through the pages of her textbook and read:

Anna raised her hand again. "According to the textbook, today I should be creative, be with my friends, and communicate," she said. "...and tomorrow, I should get organized and attend to my health." She thought for a few seconds about what all that could mean for her. "I think this means that today I should work on my communication skills, especially with my friends. Maybe I'm long overdue for a good talk with a close friend or something. As for tomorrow, well, I've been in the hospital ward twice lately. I really thought all my health problems were solved. Maybe this is telling me to keep up my good health, though."

Okay, right, Nancy had calculated her Personal Year Number already somewhere. But where was this stupid piece of parchment? Rummaging around the things in her bag she finally found the sheet on which she had written her Personal Year Number before. Okay, so it was 1...okay now she needed to calculate her Personal Month Number by adding the Personal Year Number to the reduced calender month number.

Personal Month Number=1+11 --> 1+2=3

Scribbling down her results for now Nancy then proceeded to her calculations of the Personal Day Number. First things first. Okay, today was the 4th, right?

Personal Day Number = 4+3=7

Opening her book Nancy looked up what the definition for the number 7 was.
Ookay. Right, meditate. Nancy so wasn't the type to sit still and meditate. So not! With a rather doubtful expression on her face she went on to calculate her Personal Year Number for tomorrow.

Personal Day Number = 5+3= 8

Uhm...okay, let's see. Not quite sure if that was all they had to do Nancy glanced around the room trying to find out what the others were doing.

Vindictus was now wondering why he allowed Shackleton to talk him into attending her lesson. Bored and strangely inspired to act like he was still in school, he reached over for a sheet of blank parchment and scrunched it around a wrapped chocolate frog. Using both hands, he made it a perfect paper parchment ball and his blue eyes scanned the classroom. His eyes fell on one student in particular. Perfect...just don't move. With perfect aim, the Flying Professor threw the paper ball directly at Clifford Carden's bent head.

Chris thought about it and looked up his personal day numbers. "Professor it say her that a 7 Personal Day Number is a day to rest and reevaluate, a time for quiet solitude, and to meditate. Which this does make since for me because i have a lot on my mind and i should probobly later on tonight go alone somewhere and think about everything."

"My second day number is 8 it says here that an 8 Personal Day Number is a day to handle money and to take charge which will most likely come true because my parents are supposed to be sending me more money tommorow in the owl post!"

Macadrian thought she'd heard something outside the door, so she rushed over to the doorframe, stuck her head outside and glanced up and down the hall. Nothing. Completely empty. Hmm.

Just as she turned back to the class, she spotted Max wrapping her chocolate in parchment and throwing it at her students. "Professor Vindictus!" Oh, he was gonna get it now. "You're wasting my chocolate!" Ok, so maybe she should have reprimanded him first for throwing things at her students, but she was so hungry and she loved chocolate, but she was afraid to eat it after... well, nevermind.

"And you shouldn't throw things at my students, especially ones as nice as Mr. Carden! And now we'll get to something that will hopefully keep you more entertained..."

Macadrian returned to the front of the classroom and announced, "We're going to spend the remainder of the lesson putting the Personal Numbers together. We'll be calculating Professor Vindictus's Personal Number profile and interpreting it for him. So, we first need to know Professor Vindictus's birth month and date. Max?"
