Allie chuckled. "Its a common last name." she said. She tucked a stray hair behind her ear, and waited for the Professor to start talking.

Desdemonda selected a bowl of dried tea leaves from the professor's desk and looked around. Aha! Cassandra was here!...but paired... with a... Hufflepuff!? The Hufflepuff prefect no less, leader of the entire house? This would not do! She strolled over and gave Cassandra an astounded look. "Cassandra, weren't we supposed to be partners?" she glanced at the Hufflepuff prefect. "Excuse me, Prefect Rose. There are many of your other housemates around here... perhaps you could partner with one of them?" she asked, her tone disgustingly sweet.

Jai looked around the class of course she had no partner. She rocked from heal to toe waiting for someone who didn't have a partner to show up somehwere. "Anyone need a partner."

Amelia grimaced delightfully at Cassandra's reluctant agreement to be partners. But then someone showed up who she least expected! A slytherin girl, whom she was sure Rapunzel knew and perhaps pointed out as being their house captain this year. She pressed her lips together and shook her head, at the girl's tone. "Manners Abendroth, is it?" she asked, remembering her from the broomshed suddenly as well. "First of all, it's now Captain Rose, and second of all, I arrived first. So therefore, you may partner with someone else. Thank you." She told the Slytherin Captain calmly, smiling sweetly.

Astrid perked up when she heard that. "I need a partner." she said. "I'm Astrid Deschain, it's so nice to meet you. So what do you say? Would you like to be my partner?" She crossed her fingers and hoped Jai would say yes.

Desdemonda kept her sweet, friendly demeanor, but rolled her eyes inwardly. "Does it matter which status I refer to you as? You recognized your name, and the fact that I was adressing you. It got the point across." Besides... the status of Hufflepuffs is not a primary concern of mine. "Yes, you arrived here before I. But wouldn't you rather partner with one of your house anyhow? You'd be able to work and talk about... well... whatever you Hufflepuffs talk about. If you'd move, now, please."

Amelia bit her lip at the determination of the Slytherin Captain, but shook her head again. "The point may have been listened to, but that does not mean I have to comply," she explained calmly. "And no, I would rather remain here. If I didn't want to sit here, then I would have sat elsewhere to begin with, don't you think? Now you go on, find another partner please."

"Rose," Cassandra said smiling, "I'm sure there is some hufflepuff that will enjoy partnering with you, but Desdemonda," The hufflepuff knew the girl's first name, she got the last name correct, "is correct. We had discussed partnering in the common room." She lied.

As she waited for Willow to reply to her .. err, question, Evangeline stood there on her feet, clutching tightly to the bowl. Knowing her and her clumsy ways, a very serious accident could be born from bouncing and carelessly holding a bowl.

And sure Touissant would read that as some sign for the fact her dark hair would turn blonde in her 20th birthday. Snort. Oh yes, Divination surely was useless. She had kinda enjoyed it in the previous terms, but it had all to do with Blaylock. It was impossible not to like her classes, really.

Willow's voice brought her back to reality and she nodded when the Ravenclaw girl greeted her. Okay, so far, so good. Brilliant! "Oh, that'd be lovely, thank you." She said, with a rather relieved look on her face when Willow asked her if she cared to partner with her. Wooohoo!! Mission one accomplished.

Now she only had to put mission two in practise. Whatever it was. Hehe. She just liked the mission thingy.

"I dunno how tea will tell me the future." She mumbled under her breath, taking a set next to Willow as she set her bowl on the table and her bag on the floor. There was no need to let Professor St. Touissant hear that. "Unless that it's five o'clock or something." Eh.

Desdemonda smiled sweetly again. She wasn't going to leave Cassandra with this Hufflepuff. "You may have not found any others to partner with. Now, please, it wouldn't be too difficult to find another partner, would it? As Cassandra just validated, we were planning to be partners beforehand. So technically it would be most polite of you to simply just find another Hufflepuff."

As Kaika entered the classroom she noticed what the Professor wrote in the board. So, she just simply took one of the bags and waited for someone else to partner with, considering everyone else seemed to be already with one.

Amelia blinked, her eyes darting back and forth between the Slytherin Prefect and Captain. Talk about RUDENESS! No; she didn't believe that they had talked about it beforehand, but simply that they were friends and thought they could gang up on the poor unfortunate badger. Think of her as lesser? She wasn't.

"You're right Abendroth. It wouldn't be difficult... for you to find another partner," she told her sweetly, but determinantly. "I'm sure there must be a dozen girls in here dying to get to know your charming personality. Now, I don't know what game you're both playing at, but Prefect Trelawney agreed to partner with me. And thus, it is a free world, so here I remain."

"No, it would not be difficult. That doesn't stop me from not wanting to." A slightly malicious smile grew across Desdemonda's face. "Game? We're not playing at anything. She agreed to partner with you when I was not present. And you know what? You're right. This is a free world, for the most part." With a sweet smile, she turned to Cassandra. "Cassandra, would you like to move to a vacant table and leave Captain Rose to her thoughts of freedom and such?"

Jai smiled and nodded "Sure I'd love to be your partner. I'm Jai by the way." She offered her hand for Astrid to shake.

Amelia squinted at the Slytherin captain and just shook her head with malcontent. "Fine, have it your way," she told the Slytherin, this time more firmly and maliciously then anything said previously. With that, she nodded towards the Prefect and rose from her seat quickly towards an empty table in the back. She'd get them back... later. Let them have their fun, or whatever it is Slytherins do...

Drama seemed to be everywhere around the school. Willow was sure of that, for she had gotten completely distracted, witnessing the little argument that the Slytherin Prefect, Slytherin Captain, and Mrs. Hufflepuff Pref--Captain, were having.

Was it so hard for her to move and partner up with some other Hufflepuff? I mean, sure it had been a little rude that the other captain had told her to move, but still--why would she want to be on a place where she was clearly not wanted? Meh, It wasn't her problem, so she simply looked away.

"You're welcome", Willow replied with a nod and a smile, feeling slightly relieved. At least she wasn't going to have to work by herself. Or worst--work with the teacher. Willow had the sinking feeling that St. Touissant was the kind of professor that would ask her to partner up with her if she didn't have anyone to work with.

"I thought the tea leaves were the ones that tell you the future?" Right? How could she know? The only thing she had done before coming to class, was read the book. Sort of. "I could be wrong, though". She probably was. Pointless class.

Astrid eagerly shook the hand that was being offered to her. "Well, Jai I am very glad to meet you. I don't have many friends outside of Gryffindor and I love to meet new people." she said. "I hope that I don't let you down in class today. I've never read tea leaves before. This will be my first time."

Cassandra smiled and scurgified the seat. "Thanks," She whispered to her friend. She would have been so mad if she had to share points with hufflepuff because they partnered.

"Me either," Jai said "So if we fail we have each other to blame." Jai went up to Professor Saint Toussaint's desk then returned to Astrid "Lets get a table, unless you already have one?" Jai asked holding the bowl delicately in her hands.

Torie hadn't really paid too much attention to the commotion between the Hufflepuff and the Slytherins, so she was pleasantly surprised when the Hufflepuff took a seat at a table just over from her in the classroom. Looking over at the girl, Torie figured she may as well try and be friendly. Getting up from her table, she walked over.

"Hey, I'm Torie." she said, extending her hand towards the girl. "I don't think we've really met before, but if you wanted to be my partner, I'm sure it'd be a good way to get to know each other a little bit, if you want to, that is."

Torie bit her lip, a nervous habit she hadn't quite gotten over yet. She waited for the girl's response.

Evangeline was mildly aware of the drama happening a few tables away from theirs and she shook her head. Honestly, no matter how scary MSS was ... Des and Trel beat her. By miiiles. Even being alone. A 'Slytherin female Prefect and Quidditch Captain' team was just ... ruuuuuuuun to the mooountains!!!

Luckily, an older woman, a Professor was inside the classroom, so they were meant to survive. She wasn't quite sure about poor MSS though. Hmmm. But she still wasn't feeling entirely safe in there, and she scooted her chair to the side so that she could keep an eye on the Slytherin Duo. Just incase running was necessary.

She crinkled her nose at Willow's words and nodded her head slightly. Eh. Brilliant! She had just shown Willow she knew nothing about this. Way to go Evangeline! Not. "Tea, tea leaves ... same difference." She mumbled, sure that her cheeks were faintly pink now. You couldn't go wrong with her cheeks - it seemed they enjoyed blushing. "I still don't know how it's supposed to work."

Which was of course why she was here. Heh.

Rhiannon had gotten a bowl and sat down, only to pull out a sketchbook and lose herself in drawing. She wasn't drawing anything in particular, but she didn't want to deal with finding a partner. So she simply sat, hearing conversations going on around her.

"Not at all. Where would you like to sit?" Astrid asked. "I usually sit in front just so that the professors will call on me when I raise my hand. I am in desperate need for points lately." she said. She couldn't help but laugh. She was really relieved that Jai was so nice.

Melinda had entered the classroom and saw the girls starting to pair up. Oh, wow, Divination. It was one of her weakest subjects, but anyways, she had to learn it. She put her school bag at a table nearby, picked up the bowl of tea leaves and started to look around for a parner. She saw most of them already had partnered up. Anyone here??... She thought to herself.

Ella briskly Walked over the table and took a cup the one in asian style and tea leaves in first hand, settled down in the front desk. She knew that what they are going to do with the stuffs. Without getting distraction she pulled out her parchement and quill from her backpack. Now all she needed a Partner to work with.
