Rae felt ill. It was too early in the day, and she always felt ill at this point in the day. Still, she opened the classroom with a petulant look that she'd learned from her young daughters and sat at her desk. She finally just put her head down on her desk, waiting for the students to arrive.

No. Not "the students". The girls.

She fell asleep.

Next time, however, just name one and let your friends participate," she winked at the girl. She had one every term who was eager to offer up all their knowledge. In fact, Rae herself had been that girl back when she was just Cece Cooper with the pigtails.

Amelia beamed when the Professor complimented her on her naming of a basic spell. She was about to answer the next question as to what it does, but the sneaky Juniper beat her again. Gah! Instead, she just wrote a couple things down and waited patiently for what was next...

Tomasina listened to everything, she knew all of this. So she let the others answer. They were faster with the hands than she was.

Amelia raised her hand in an attempt to redeem herself. "When expelliarmus is cast, the victim's wand is removed from them and they are thrown from their feet."

Ari frowned, raising her hands. "The spell makes it so that your wand flies out of your hands, though sometimes it my knock you off your feet if you say it strong enough, or it could burn a hole through something. It gives off a red light when cast that's how you know it's a disarming spell, though there are more spells which have the same red glow." she muttered, remembering what had happened the last time she used it.

"Good. Three more for Ravenclaw for that answer and for Ari's answer about the red light. I also wanted to hear someone mention that for a more powerful witch or wizard, the wand will fly through the air TO the caster. Very powerful spell if you consider that's what happens when you master it."

Juniper raised her hand. "Protego creates a barrier of energy to repel hexes and curses," she said. "And I think that if you're good enough, it sends the hex back to the caster."

"Exactly. Five for Gryffindor. The spell creates a magical barrier, as some of you so eloquently put it. Many hexes and curses will hit the barrier and dissipate. Of course, the more powerful the casting, the better the barrier and then..." She pointed at Mia.

"Expecto Patronum conjures a Patronus, a silvery phantom shape, usually that of an animal, which is the embodiment of the positive thoughts of the caster. A Patronus will drive away Dementors", Willow said.
