Professor Branxton found an abandoned broom cupboard to brew the potion. He set everything up and waited for students to bring him the ingredients needed. While he waited, he pinned a copy of the potion directions to the wall. Quote:

Instructions:
1) Stew mandrake root with clazoarl for thirteen days and seven hours. Replenish water as needed.
2) Pour off excess water from mandrake root (take care not to pour out the clazoarl!) and add leech juice. Allow to ferment for seven days.
3) Add vinegar to the stewed and fermented mandrake root and boil until there is no vinegar remaining.
4) Add water and bring to a boil. Then, reduce flame and simmer for forty-seven minutes and three seconds, stirring counterclockwise for the duration of the simmer.
5) Add black beetle eyes, maintaining the counter clockwise stirring for an additional forty seven seconds. Then, begin to stir in a serpentine motion while removing the cauldron from all heat.
6) Allow the mixture to cool while maintaining the serpentine stirring movement. (This can take several hours).
7) Add the ancient fluorescent clam mold and spray the affected person down with the potion. | |

Hitachi tended to Marco and nodded as his words sunk in. "Not good at potions as well, but I guess I could by starting off with this...." He turned to analyze all the ingredients for the 'big' potion.

Rhiannon stepped intothe broom closet and set the bowl containing the clams safely in a corner. She hid a shudder at the thought of the leeches and set her school bag down. She wasn't going to say anything that could cause problems for her or her house. She was smarter than that.

Amelia finally reached the fifth floor, where they would be brewing the potion. She heard noises in there and what sounded like a whole lot of tension.
"I've got the bee-" she started, as she reluctantly, she opened the broom cupboard door and slid into the room, which looked surprisingly larger than should have been for just a cupboard. One of the Professors must have enlarged it, she thought, looking around for someone who seemed sane and uninvolved in the tension. Rhiannon; that ought to work. She stepped over to stand by the Ravenclaw, but then realized she ought to hand the ingredients over to it seemed like Doyle.
She took a step forward to where Doyle was and smiled. Biting her lip, she really hoped that the heat irradiating from her cheeks was from the crowd of people in the room. He is married! to the Headmistress too! she thought quickly, and erased any thoughts from her mind.
"Ahem - Uh, Professor Branxton?" the sixth said, trying to remain confident. "I've got the beetles, what shall I do with them?" she asked, holding them out for him to see. "And some water too. Well, what's left of it..." she noticed about half of it was gone from the walk up to the fifth floor, undoubtedly.
ooc: oh bummer. I've missed the hugging! =P

Still following the group of students, Madame Kohan came to a slow stop as she realized they were all filing into a broom cupboard. What on earth?
Her question of the possible activity was soon answered as she peered inside and noticed Professors Branxton and Lainey.
Slipping past a few students near the doorway, she approached them. Before she could speak however, she noticed the parchment pinned to the wall. She was right. A potion was responsible and how it was getting to the children could be attributed to the mechanism that James had mentioned.
"Bit of excitement." She remarked quietly as she glanced at the ingredients that had been gathered thus far. "Anything else needed?"

She took a step back, trying to hide behind Amelia after she finished speaking, which was strange since she was inches taller than the Hufflepuff. But she wasn't really certain how Professor Lainey would take the question.

Amelia was thankful at the sound of the door opening which allowed her to remove her eyes from the Charms Professor. She turned around to see who it was and smiled as it was one of her more favorite Hogwarts staff members; the librarian. "Hello Madame Kohan. I didn't realize you were into making potions," she said with a smile, but then quickly turned to face Lainey.
Raising an eyebrow she was rather confused because the ingredient list didn't say anything about squishing them up. Lainey really was as much a nutcase as others said. Her suspicions were confirmed when Rhiannon spoke up and said that she thought they were supposed to extract them. "Yeah... are you sure about Professor Lainey? Squish them? I thought extract the beetle eyes." She decided she would wait for confirmation before doing anything; especially since it wasn't like Lainey was a potions master. She taught history, not potions

Rapunzel arrived at the broom cupboard, the vinegar bottle in her hand. She blinked, as there seemed to be an unusual number of people in such a small space....and oddly enough, the vinegar was already there.
She sighed and stood in a corner, wondering how she could possibly help, especially since she was dreadful at potion-brewing. And yet, one of the clams was hers, so she came. She saw. She conquered waited for instructions.
