With a nod, Curt raised his hand and answered in the most generic way he could because he didn't want to babble on about them, "Well Switching Spells are of coursed used to switch one thing for another. The easiest for of this spell are just object-switches and the become more complicated once you work your way up to practicing cross-species switches." Curt said, with a faint smile, he hated sounded like a brainiac but Transfiguration was the only subject he could.

Again, Curt raised his hand because he had already thought of a few purposes for this one too, "Well, they could be very vital in survival. You could switch out a rock for a loaf of bread, or really any other type of food. Also, if you were facing some sort of dangerous creature, you could swap its dangerous elements for something harmless, making the creature much more approachable." Curt said with a shrug, there was really endless possibilities.

Jordan walked up to the professor's desk and took the sunglasses and bologna. She then went back to her own desk and tried to do what the professor had instructed. She had a little trouble at first. She couldn't get the lenses out but merely stuck the bologna to them like a sticker. The older girl did hower manage to get it right on the second try. | |

Jessy grinned at the points that were raking in. "Well done Em.!" He said quietly as he walked up to the professor's desk. He grabbed a weird pair of sunglasses and walked back to his desk, wand at that ready. He pointed it at the glasses and carefully casted "Porsectum..." And sure enough, the real lenses changed rapidly into bologna lenses. He grinned at his success. He definitley was going to like this class...

Beaming as he had just won his house, House points, Curt listened and watched as Professor Pierce demonstrated todays lesson to the class. Curt was impressed, she switched those lenses almost effortlessly, Curt had been practicing switch spells before, hopefully he'd get it right this time. He walked up to the front of the room and grabed his sunglasses and the two slices of bologna and returned to his desk.
Looking at the two, Curt started to concentrate...visualizing the materials switching into each others places. With his usual confidence, Curt pointed his wand at the glasses and said, "Porsectum." To his horror, the glasses cracked down the middle and the lenses shattered. Quickly and almost unnoticably, Curt muttered "Reparo." and watched as the glasses mended themselves to mint condition. Alright, so Curt was nervous working infront of the new Transfiguration Professor, he really wanted to show her that he was good at this stuff...so, hoping that she didn't see Curt's last disastrous little stunt, he cleared his mind and tried again. He pointed his wand at the glasses, and with a quick swish he said, "Porsectum." An invisible force came from his wand and before he knew it, the glasses lenses were replaced with the bologna and the two lenses were laying on the table. Phew, he thought to himself, at least he hadn't made a complete fool of himself.

Hayli blushed in embarresment when her answer was wrong. 'Of course you can't! I'm stupid!' She thought, mentally slapping her forehead. She smiled when the Professor thanked her.
The red haired girl slowly got up from her seat, and walked up to the desk. She took the desired items, and walked back to her seat. She wrote down the incantation for the spell in her notes, along with the motion.
Hayli took a deep breath before trying. "Porsectum!" She said, swishing her wand. But... nothing happened. No movement whatsoever. She tried again. "Porsectum!" But no movement, again. She tried a third time. "Porsectum." Again.
Hayli took a few more deep breaths. "Calm down, Hayli, this is your first year..." She said under her breath. Ten more tries after: "Porsectum." The watched in amazement as the sunglass lenses changed into the bologna slices.

Well that seems like a strange assingment, Austin thought to himself, but went to the front and collected the sunglasses and 2 slices of bologna. Austin placed the items on his desk and took out his wand, also placing it on the desk. He stuffed his textbook back in his bag. "Prosectum" he said"Prosectum, Prosectum, Prosectum," Austin never wanted to look foolish so he made sure he knew the incantation before he started to try any magic. Picking up his wand, he pointed at the items on his desk. Swishing his wand through the air, Austin spoke "Prosectum. But to his dismay the items remained on the table unchanged. Concentrating on what he wanted to occur, he swished his wand and spoke "Prosectum" The lens popped out of the glasses and were replaced by the pieces of meat. Satisfied with his work, Austin watched as his fellow classmates tried the switching spell | |

Emily gave Hitachi a small smile “Thanks” She said softly.
She couldn’t help a small smile when the professor explained what they were going to be doing. Bologna lenses seemed funny to her. She stood up and collected the items required and returned to her desk, removing her wand from her robes. This was going to be interesting.
She pointed her wand at the sunglasses and bologna which now lay on the desk in front of her. With a swish of her wand as demonstrated muttered the incantation “Porsectum.” Nothing happened. Emily frowned slightly and tried again, “Porsectum!” Still nothing. She scratched her head and glanced around the classroom. Everyone else seemed to be managing just fine. She turned back to her own desk again and frowned. ‘hmph!’ “PORSECTUM!” She said louder this time and swished a bit harder. She looked down at the sunglasses. They were still just ordinary sunglasses. But in the place of one piece of bologna was now a button. ‘weird’ Emily muttered. She glanced around the classroom again, but could not locate where that gross piece of meat had gone. Some unlucky soul would probably find it later, attached to their school cardigan. 'hah!' Emily shrugged, stood up and returned to her desk with another piece of meat.
This time focused completely on what she was doing “Porsectum!” She said quietly but firmly and to her astonishment, it worked! She smiled smugly to herself. This spell was certainly going to come in useful.

Ray obseverved each of his classmates attempts, switching spells my grandfather never taught me that one he thought to himself as he practiced the swish movement. Prosectum... Porsectum he repeated in his head. Okey ready... He thought as he swished his wand while muttering "Prosectum!" one of the sunglasses lenses popped out of it place and landed on the table.
"Bad attempt!" He said to himself as he picked it up and fixed placed it back in it's place.
"Prosectum!" he muttered as he swish his wand, the lenses were replaced by the bologna.

Josh moved out of his chair to come back with sunglasses and a slice of bologna. He looked over at Ameila as he made a joke." Well we wont have to worry about protecting again uv rays with these sunglasses." he really didnt like bologna...it smelt weird to him. he moved to place the two next to each other on the desk as he pulled out his wand. swish.he pointed his wand and made the swish." Porsectum." he said as he watched the reaction. the lenses started to change into bologna, but to his surprise it only change half way. He sighed as he focused again. He kept his wand a bit tighter this time as he tried again. "Porsectum." he smiled as the bologna had fully replaced the lenses. He smirked as he was ready for what was next. | |

Amelia beamed over at Curt for earning Hufflepuff some house points; and he said that he wasn't any good in this subject... She walked over to where the box was and pulled out a pair of sunglasses; this should be simple enough - Transfiguration was one of her strong subjects, afterall. She said the word over in her mind a few times: Porsectum. Finally, once she felt she was ready, she swished her wand at the sunglasses and said clearly, "Porsectum", much to her happiness, it worked. The sunglasses now had bologna for lenses, which looked quite funny.
A thought then occurred to her suddenly and she called the Professor over. "Professor Pierce? Would this spell be useful for all switching spells or does it depend on the object you want to change it into?" she asked, arching an eyebrow in confusion.

After Qaz had gotten the requisite Bologna and Sunglasses, she put them on the desk in front of her. (Luckily she had a tissue to wipe the bologna slime off her fingers.)
With a great amount of trepidation, she picked up her wand and with a swish, uttered the word ‘Porsectum’
At once, absolutely nothing happened.
She frowned and tried again, with the same anticlimactic result.
She was horrible at wand work and knew it.
Qaz grabbed her quill and parchment and tried to make a few notes, hoping that nobody would see the tears in her eyes. Her wand hated her…or maybe it was her dads Muggle genes getting their revenge. Either way, she was a failure at wandwork. | |

Hmm this is weird, Gwen thought. Bologna? Why would anyone switch their lenses for bologna??
She stared at the glasses and bologna, trying to picture the bologna in the frames. She found that helped with Transfiguration.
She picked up her wand and, remembering the swish, said the incantation. "Porsectum!"
Nothing happened. Maybe I'm saying it wrong?
