Patrick stood up. Everyone else already seemed to have a partner so he decided to practice on himself. "Defluo," he muttered to himself pointing his wand at himself. The effect was odd. At first he thought it hadn't worked because he hadn't felt anything and then, ever so slightly, he began to feel like something incredibly viscous with dripping down him. A minute or so later he could no longer tell that he feet were not made of floor. He tapped his feet experimentally. Yep definitely shoe and not floor. He shrugged his shoulders happily and said to himself,"Finite incantatem."
Patrick was just looking for a partner to practice the other spells with when he saw a first-year Gryffindor. "Hey, d'you need a partner?" he asked friendlily.

Saylie decided that staying almost invisible for a while would be okay. She looked back down at her paper, trying to decide what to try next, and picked it up.
Thinking about it, she laughed, I must look pretty silly...actually, it must look like a peice of paper is just floating nonchalantly in the middle of the DADA class. Still laughing, she pointed her wand at nothing in particular and muttered, "Muffliato." hmm, she thought, now how do I find out if that worked. I suppose I should have cast it on Jason, but oh well, maybe later.
