Tarot Party The Divination classroom was decorated as it usually was, except for the fact that dozens of candles were floating in mid-air (much like the candles in the Great Hall), casting a warm glow on everything. The effect of the candles and the dramatic colours of the pouffes spread around the room was quite cozy, and Natasha stood surveying her work proudly. The trap door was open, just waiting for the other staff members and students to come in. She'd charmed a self-refilling teapot to serve tea to everyone, and that were now hovering along with the candles, just waiting for a teacup to be held up. Damian was safe in his nursery, and several decks of Tarot cards sat on the half-dozen circular tables she'd set up around the room. The party was ready to start! |
One hand protruded shakily from the hole on the floor, savagely clutching the floor in the room. A string of naughty words wafted into the air as another pale hand appeared and with it, a bright red head. "What would you say if I tell you I found an empty classroom back there on the first floor?" |
Lua curiously climbed up the trap door into Divination tower, she knew she was late for the party, nevertheless it was good to walk in fashionably late this way everyone was there and she wouldn't endure a solitary conversation with the Professor. "Hello" she said hearing her voice echo around the empty room, but her mind was occupied by the room color and candle lights. It would be embarrassing if she has to walk into the the party on the wrong day. |
Natasha grinned and had to resist the urge to drag the two girls in by the collars of their shirts. "Hello, dearlings! Take a seat, have a cup of tea while we wait for a few others." She couldn't wait to get on with the proceedings. Since she'd missed the first week of term, she was quite eager to catch up on everything, and also to take a good look at the new staff. |
Trent rushed up the stairs to the Divination tower. He hated walkign all this way, how did Natasha cope? He climbed the stairs to the trapdoor and saw that he was one of the first there, "Hello... it is tonight, right?" he asked nervously. |
Running up the stairs of death, he panted. How on earth did Blaylock survive going up and down these stairs?! "I-I" he panted as he tried talking to himself like a crazy nut. Making it to the trap down, he walked through it and found Lu standing there. "How--On--Earth--Does--She--DO THAT?!" he panted as he stood next to Lua. "These stairs will be the death of that woman." he said trying to breathe normally. "So...where's everyone?" |
Whende pulled herself through the trap door and giggled. "Hello," she said, delighted with the echo she added to the echo that Lua made that was now being all... echoey. But that faded away quickly. She was used to being late for things, but it looked like she wasn't the only one being late. It was pretty empty. Just Ama and Lua and Whende and Buh-Lay and Keeper Guy and that one other person. Empty empty empty.... or then again, not so empty. |
"Yes, Mr Hirty, it is tonight, come on in and pull Celestina up, will you?" Natasha said with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. A few more people climbed up the stairs and she started helping them up the stairs into the classroom. Leo's question to Lua made her snort. She held a finger to her temple and adopted a sage expression, "I am Zen." |
Professor Forrester entered the room and took note of the decorations. Similar to when he attended, but, obviously, personal touches of the new professor. His eyes moved around the room. Students, and at least one other professor in attendance thus far. His eyes stopped at Natasha. So...it was her. Of all people, her! Taking a deep breath and swallowing the part of his pride that wanted to lash out and scream at her, he walked across the floor towards her and the other staff. "Good evening, I trust I am on time?" He smiled. Not friendly, not cold, but it was a smile. A very neutral smile. |
"Yes certainly," he replied as he got off his cushion and walked over to where Bucky was clinging onto the floor. "C'mon scout," He said lifting her up and putting her on his shoulders, "Ready to see Nat-... I mean Professor Blaylock in action?" He put her down on a cushion beside him. "Now, sit! good girl, stayyyy." |
Natasha turned to greet the newcomer, but her smile faltered as she took in the very familiar man. Those eyes...she'd know them anywhere. She fought the urge to take a step back, or to hex him, or to simply...take the plaque that showed her position as Professor and shove it in his face. But she held out a hand instead (granted, it was a shaky hand), "J-just in time, sir." She cursed the blasted stutter, "Would you like a cup of tea?" |
Just exactly how many steps were there? That Natasha must be in one incredibe shape to keep on doing this. Ophelia thought to herself, completely warn out even though she herself was in good shape after having to run around to re-capture so many exciteable animals. Finally. There seemed to be somewhere to sit down. Ophelia beamed, as Rabbit, her hawk, cooed thankfully. He'd been getting rather tired of having to watch his owner skip about the castle. Stumbling out the trapdoor, she grinned, and re-adjusted the two braids she had in her golden hair, then shook off her robes, she'd some how aquired a large amount of dust...she probably shouldn't have hugged that suit of armour who looked like he needed to be cheered up... "Nat- Professor Blaylock! Darling! So good to see you back!" Ophelia beamed, scurring over to embrace her friend. She looked over after hugging her fellow Professor to see Trent, "Hello Mr Hirty!" She squealed, then waved to the many students around. |
Dan climbed through the trapdoor and was shocked to notice he was the only student , He noticed his head of house. Been a first year this all made him very nervous " errm hi .. im Dan " he said very nervously |
Celestina had managed to somehow dodge all hostile attacks of legs, arms and torsos as people climbed over her, not giving her a second glance. Bucky made several mental notes to remind some students and Professors to wash their robes. The bottom of their fabrics was kicking! "You know. I don't even like tea!" Then she was hefted unto Big Red's shoulder as if she was a sack of sweet potatoes. "Oi oi!" Was her only protest and she was suddenly plopped unto a very squishy cushion. Staring at Hirty unblinkingly as she was given orders to sit, stay, roll over. Good boy! Have a snack... Ahem. "Tea!" Bucky squeaked and threw an arm up, exasperated. "It's always about the tea, isn't it?" |
Jenna entered the room, very exhausted. She couldn't sleep last night due to the fact that she was reading her new book, Son of A Witch, by Gregory Maguire. She brought it with her to the party because she couldn't put it down. It was too interesting! She tried to read it, but her vision was blurred from lack of sleep. Bad Jenna, she thought. You should've stayed in your dormitory to catch up on your sleep, instead of going to this party. You shouldn't have been up all night reading this dumb book. You're so stupid. Jenna shook her head and snapped out of it. I'm losing it. I'm just a little mad at myself and a little cranky. I'll be fine... But before she knew it, she was dozing off.... |
Ariana headed up the stairs, her long black hair tied behind her head, the light casting a strange glow to her bronze colored eyes. She popped her head up the trap door and saw with relief she wasn't the only one in there. Pulling herself all the way up she stopped and looked around. Great, she didn't know anyone here. Shrugging it off and thinking it would be fun she walked in, grinning to professor Blaylock and waving slightly, she looked around for a comfy spot to sit. She was still her shy quiet self, not quite ready to talk yet. Finding a soft cushion near the corner she sat down and sighed as she looked around. |
So...she remembered him as well. Her reaction said it all. They were both being very careful. No use blowing up in front of all the students present. They were adults. They could be professional. He slowly took her hand, hesitating only slightly, and gave her a firm, but quick, handshake. "Good to see you again, Blaylock," so he lied. Sue him. They could put their history behind them for this night, right? Tea? Would he like tea? Well, she couldn't have known he was here, and she was serving it to everyone, chances were it wasn't poisoned. Would she stoop that low? A Hufflepuff? Nah, wouldn't have the gall. He smiled, a bit more relaxed now. Just remember, she's a Hufflepuff. Pssh. "Of course, tea sounds lovely." |
Leo looked over to the Professor and frowned. "A Zen? What's that? It's sounds like a cookie." he chuckled. "Here have a Zen, it's good for ya!" he snorted as he wrapped an arm around Lua's waist. "Let's get this party cracking" he winked at Natasha, hoping that this would be a REAL party and not some kind of summoning the dead thing, but then again, Lua liked summoning the dead, so he'd like that for her. |
She brushed off her robes once more, then pulled out her wand, deciding to clean them that way. Muuuch easier. She smiled at the girl who was about to fall asleep and poked her. How rude. Falling asleep at a party! Rabbit settled himself upon Ophelia's shoulder and nipped her ear, he was slowly becoming more affectionate towards that strange strange woman. |
"Hello Ophelia," Trent replied to the younger woman. She oddly reminded him of Lainey.. Lainey... HIS MIRROR! He had left it in his hut. Oh dear. Surely no one would go and find it? nahhhh. |
Dan noticed alot of teachers in the room and pondered on intoducing himsef to them. He decided against it and found a plump cusion to sit on |

Miranda climbed in through the trap door with great difficulty, feeling her strength completely leave her. She stood up, breathing heavily and brushing her red and black curls from her glistening forehead. After making herself look appropriate again, she waved to the professor. Then, she made her way across the room to a free seat. Sitting Indian style, she scanned the room. Students and professors were all there. She wondered what this was. Was it a regular class? It was nice whatever it was. The soothing and laid-back atmosphere was very Miranda-like. She appreciated it. Sipping her tea, Miranda stared at all the other people in the room. Their ages varied. Some were younger than she, and some seemed to be seventh years. She easily picked out the few professors in the small crowd. |
When glanced back and forth between people. She felt a bit invisible. Humph. She flopped onto a squashy cushion and examined her shoes. She were way too small, pretty beaten up, and the buckle on one was broken. Well that was just rude. So she moved to playing with the hole in her sock. |
Celestina was having a hard time ignoring the teapot bumping into the side of her head. She cast it a sideways disdainful glance before sucking her teeth as it bumped into her head again. "I don't want any tea!" She hissed and reached out to grab the teapot. Holding the squirming pot in her hands she tried to stop it from pouring liquid into her lap. Her green eyes met with the man talking to Blaylock. This was definitely not Manly Man Erikson. Then the bright colors of an odd head blinded her for a few seconds. "Whende!" |
Natasha was hugged by a very excited Ophelia, but before she could return the gesture, the woman had bounced off towards another area of the classroom. She blinked for a moment at the blonde woman's back before turning back to the Forrester. She wanted to push him down the trap door, or ask him what he was doing at Hogwarts, but once again, she smiled. "Tea is lovely." She said, shooting a superior look to Bucky, who was once again complaining loudly about her favourite drink. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to be a good hostess." The enchanted teapot poured a steaming cup of tea for the man as Natasha walked to the centre of the room, "Good evening, everybody, and thank you for coming all the way up here. We'll wait a little longer before we begin tonight's activities, in the meantime, enjoy the tea and biscuits I've set out for you." |

Rae came to the Tarot party wearing a festive new set of robes complete with stars and the moon. The girls were tucked in and sleeping, and she was ready to relax for a little while. Seating herself on a pouf, she contented herself to watch people for a while. Hopefully, she'd get a turn soon enough. |
Ari had been sitting there on her soft cushion when she felt something moving around in her pocket. Frowning she peeked inside and saw Ginger. "What are you doing in here?" she asked her kitten softly, hoping the professor didnt mind an animal in the room, but then sighed as she say professor Maline with hers. Ginger poked her head out of her pocket and looked around, her ears perking upat the noice. Making sure Ginger was still inside her pocket she sipped her tea and felt herself relax, wondering what they would be doingg that night, and secretly hoping Ginger wouldn't dash out of her pocket and run off again. |

Professor Forrester's golden brown eyes met with a pair of green eyes across the room. He saw her, but he didn't care. He nodded as Natasha left him to play hostess, and accepted the tea from the pot. Taking a sip, he looked around the room at the odd assortment. Apparently, this was not a meeting for professor's only, as more students showed up. Interesting, very interesting. |
Bucky made a face at Blaylock's decision to defend tea. Celestina had accidentally let go of the teapot and she had to dodge and attack as it attempted to pour amber liquid on her head. Feeling a buzzing in her robes she sneaked her hand into her pocket and pulled out a fluffy pink hairball. "A-ha! Stacey! No worries. Blay's beastie is nowhere in sight. I think..." Celestina cast suspicious glances at the corners of the room. |
Whende jumped at least a foot into the air when she heard her name, then took to looking frantically around for whoever had said it. It looked like Bucky was the only person who could possibly everly know her well enough. "Hullo." She flopped into a new seat, just a couple feet away from Bucky. "These things are really squashy. They should be bouncy, doncha think? That'd be pretty cool." When nodded as she attempted to bounce up and down on the cushion. Acccccck, too many people talking to me. "Hello hello hello." That should cover it all. |

"I think she uses magic" Lu snorted raising an eyebrow at his next question, she would answer if she knew an answer. Instead the tea pot was quite distracting, filling a cup she shoved into Leo's hand instead, "some tea love?" But her eyes were soon distracted some more by colorful hair streaks. Quote:
"Hey whende" Lua smiled and waved at her Gryffindor fellow as a new tall man entered the room with his flowing charm. Swooning at the new Professor for a while or only when Leo's arms wrapped around her waist did she come out of it. Quote:

She smiled absently once more, thinking of how Natasha was being such a darling to the group, where was that tea? She mused to herself, throwing a bright smile at Ariana and noticed the kitten about in her pocket. She grinned, and Rabbit perced himself on her shoulder again. She watched as the Headmistress wandered in, and Ophelia swallowed a little, she found the woman rather great, and was a little in awe of her, considering she was sensible and Ophelia...well...she needed a little nudge to get her in the right direction. |
[QUOTE=starlightangel;5320091]Shoving herself into a lovely cushion right beside a young man, Ophelia flicked her hair over her shoulder as Rabbit decided that he fancied sitting on her head instead. "You alright there kiddo?" She asked in a happy way, blue eyes sparkling. Dan looked up " yeaah thanks " he smiled weakley. " thers alot of teachers and older people here " he said timidly " Im Dan " he said holding out his hand |
Rapunzel pulled herself through the small trapdoor and entered the mystically decorated room. She had never been to a tarot party before, and hadn't even opened her Divination book yet. She coughed a little because of the heavily perfumed air and took a seat in a large armchair close to the exit, in case she needed to make a quick escape later. Looking around, Rapunzel noticed quite a few professors in the room, and wondered if the tower was a popular hangout. She also wondered if the Divination teacher could predict how she was going to do at the Quidditch tryouts tomorrow... |

Ian couldn't stop looking around the classroom in awe since he'd stepped in.He wandered around for a few minutes, recognising a few proffessors and students who were there.Meanwhile, he had to watch his head for the flying teapot. He heard proffessor Blaylock's anouncement and wondered where the cookies were, he hadn't seen any. |
Ariana noticed Professor Maline looking in her direction, giving her a bright smile and she smiled back, a true honest smile. It was the first time she had honestly smiled in a long time and she felt...good. It was almost as if the thought of being back here, away from home and her troubles gave her new strength. Kerry had been right, she wasn't going to perish anytime soon. She may as well enjoy herself. She looked up at Professor Blaylock as she went about doing her thing and sipped her tea again, this time enjoying the taste and company. Ginger, not quite as shy as she was hopped out of her pocket and, after making sure Rabbit wasn't going to hurt her, climbed onto Arianas' lap, curling up and falling asleep. Ariana chuckled to herself, shaking her head. |
Dan laughed slightly " ooh i didnt realise you were a proffesor " he said feeling a little bit stupid " What subject do you teach ?" He asked as a teapot zoomed over his head |

Natasha momentarily forgot Forrester's presence as the Headmistress entered the room and took a seat quietly. She smiled in welcome and held her hands, palm out to the people gathered in her classroom. "I thought we'd all like to just kick back and have some fun reading our Tarot cards, as Arm- Professor Erikson and I enjoyed doing so over the summer. So, if you wouldn't mind...please take a seat around one of the tables, and we can begin looking into the beyond." She giggled at the use of the corny phrase, "The trap door shall remain open for any latecomers to arrive...but I see no reason why we cannot begin." She picked up a deck of cards from one of the tables, "On every table, there is a deck of Tarot cards...You can either wait for me to read your individual cards, or you could read the cards of those sitting at your table." She caught some incredulous looks, "I know, I know...you're not all well versed in the Tarot, but I've prepared a simple chart for you to refer to." Sitting down across from Bucky, Natasha smiled kindly at her, "Now...I'll demonstrate one of the simplest ways to read the Tarot...any volunteers?" She raised an eyebrow at the young girl, as if to say "Pick a card." |

Ian looked suspiciously at the Tarot cards on the tables. He had no idea what to do with them.He glanced at the others hoping for a sign. |
Miranda eagerly sat at one of the tables and looked at the deck of cards in front of her. She knew basic Divination, but she never really knew how to read Tarot. Watching the professor closely, she hoped that by the time that the little lesson was over, she could at least figure out what all the cards were called. |
Oooooooh, Professor was sitting at their table. Now that's monstrously exciting. She watched closely, resting her chin on the table and wrinkling up her nose as if it would make her more attentive. It looked like some sort of magic card trick thing. |
Rapunzel listened to the Divination professor explain how to read Tarot cards and then stared at the deck in front of her. Who was she kidding? She was completely hopeless. Maybe she should just head back to the common room and play a round of exploding snap....or maybe these cards held the secrets to her future. She decided to wait it out and leaned back in her cushiony seat, waiting for the professor to come around and help her interpet all the funky symbols in front of her. |

Forrester looked around, "Feel free to do mine, Natasha. I'm out of practice, too many years spent outside the atmosphere." He gave her a look, daring her to try his. They were always in competition. Would she turn this one down? |
She swatted once. She swatted twice. Bucky then decided to go for an uppercut. "Get out of my face you tea--" Bucky didn't finish her sentence for Blaylock-Erikson had decided to continue with the party. Maybe she could rid Bucky from the persistent tea pot of doom. Celestina frowned at the deck of cards on her table as the Professor went on to explain what they would be doing for the party. Celestina stared at Blaylock and then glanced at Whende and craned her neck to find Big Red. By the looks of it no one was volunteering. "Tough luck, eh Blay?" Bucky muttered then raised her brows. What what? "Oh you want me--Wha--Ohhh! Okay." Bucky frowned and held her tongue out, biting down on it gently in concentration. Wiggling her fingers about trying to decide which card she wanted. And just as she was about to choose a card the Mystery Man spoke. Bucky clenched her fist and began to raise it threateningly but was hit again on the back of the head by the violent teapot. That teapot was going down. |
Dan laughed " Well i knew you wernt a student ... but well i guess its obvoious you were a proffessor" He laughed. " Im looking forward to care of magical creatures " he smiled not willling to congfess that he had read his COM textbook 3 times over occ- gtg :( |
Quote:
Natasha groaned inwardly as that insufferable man spoke up. He couldn't just leave the past alone, could he? Nooooo, he had to just go and stick his great big nose in things and stir everything up. She met his eyes and raised a brow, "Of course, Professor Forrester. Take a seat and we can show everyone here how this thing works." |
Ian slowly walked over to the tables and took a seat.He stared at the cards in front of him wondering what it was that he was supposed to do with them.He was always bad at Divination and he definitely didn't know how to read Tarot cards.Right then, he wished he'd payed more attention to class. Ian looked up to find proffessor Blaylock but as he'd expected, she was already busy helping others. |
Quote:
Professor Forrester raised an eyebrow at the young girl with green eyes being attacked by the tea pot. What did she do to deserve such treatment? He took a seat across from Natasha. "ready when you are" |
Quote:
Giving Maline a look that said, 'I'll come by your office later and talk' she smiled and watched as Blaylock showed them how to do a Tarot reading. She was truly interested. |
Take a--but--Bucky was sitting right in front of Blaylock! Clutching the pillow beneath her with both hands, Bucky decided to focus her anger on the Mystery Man as the teapot collided with her head repeatedly. The Evil Liquid Holder was obviously becoming irritated that Celestina was the only guest without a cup of tea. "You better get yourself a very very comfortable cushion, Sir," commented Bucky wincing as the teapot hit her again. "It's going to be a loooong day." |
Natasha tapped her wand on the errant teapot and chided the young Gryffindor, "You know, Bucky...it wouldn't be so offended if you'd just accept a cup of tea." She turned back to everyone else in the room and beckoned them closer to where they sat, "Come closer, everyone, so you can see how it's done." She held the deck of tarot cards out to Forrester, "Shuffle while thinking of a question...any question, and then pick 3 cards randomly. Lay them out left to right, face down in front of you." |
She watched as that Nice Girl Bucky got whacked in the head with a tea pot, and she looked at it in disdain before Rabbit her hawk began to chase it playfully. Turning to Dan she smiled at him "I'm pleased you're looking forward to it, now, want me to help with your cards when we're shown everything?" |
Katelyn walked in, and peered around. It was pretty crowded, and she couldnt really see anyone. She sat down in a random chair, and waited for someone to talk to her, She thought she heard Dan's voice, but wasnt sure so she didnt get up or anything. |

She blinked at Leo, "'course we do, we hate living muggles ways" she defended almost glaring at him as she did so. Lu watched him closely as he changed that cup of tea into something else as her eyes darted sideways at random Professors wondering if they can change the tea into something else and not be rude about the hospitality, then again when did she care? "Leo" she said sweetly placing a strong hold on his cup and pulled it out of his hands. "You don't mind do you?" adding a sweet smile to match her tone then sipped some of the coffee. "Cookies sound yummy" she muttered between sips eying him closely, "there might be some stashed around". Once Professor Blaylock spoke, Lu shifted her attention to her as she addressed everyone in the room. Glancing at the chart she mentioned very closely, she wasn't ready to know her future especially with Leo around next her. Its frightening. But what to do? She was here and she had to pay attention for the sake of it and not to hurt her grades in others. |

Forrester took the cards from Natasha and shuffled then laid three cards in front of him, being 7 of Swords Knight of Cups and 6 of Wands |
Oooh, Rapunzel leaned in closer. 'Huh,' she thought to herself. 'Where are the hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds?' Then she giggled inwardly at her silly Muggle upbringing. 'Of course the cards are different; we're at Hogwarts. In a Divination classroom. In the middle of a Tarot-reading party. How exciting!' She leaned forward eagerly to see what these three cards would tell about the professor... |
Armand walked in, the new child cradled in his arms, rubbing Damian's back as the baby blinked up at the sights around him. He stood in the doorway watching the proceedings, ready to take Damian back into the nursery if he started fussing too much. |
Ari picked up a sleeping Ginger and moved towrds the group in fron of Blaylock and the person she didn't know. She quirked an eyebrow ad thught, this should be interesting as she watched them. Ginger, irritated at being woken up, climbed onto her shoulder and promtly fell asleep again. She shook her head, trying not to giggle. |
A Slytherin girl, that one who'd said hi, seemed to have that stupid tea pot under control. When wasn't even the one under attack and the pot was still kind of annoying. She titled her head to the side as That Guy took some cards. She'd grown up playing silly fortune telling games with face cards when she was younger. But these things were just so. Much. COOLER! She was tempted to poke one to see if the images inside would move, or maybe even run away in terror. The fact that Erikson had brought in the baby managed to distract her for a moment, though. She hadn't actually been around a baby for what felt like years. But that only held her attention for a couple seconds. Then she was back to staring at the cards on the table. "Can I touch it?" she asked. "Or will that kill it?" |
Adam creaked open the trapdoor, trying to determine just how late he was. It sounded like there were a lot of people up there. As quietly as possible, he snuck up through the door and sat right at the back of the Divination room, hoping not to be noticed. He was here to observe, not participate. OOC: I want Adam to be here, but i leave for work shortly so I can't really participate sorry. |

Leo pouted when she took his coffee away from her, "Actually I do mind, Lu." he said as he gripped his coffee and took it away from her. "Here" he said as he took out his wand, looked at Professor Blaylock before turning a whole pot of tea into coffee. "This, is ours okay? let's sit somewhere away from these monsters, they might take out coffee" he muttered in her ear. Grabbing the pot of coffee, he sat down and looked over at Lu. "Come on, love." "I'd like come cookies now." He sighed. But then an idea popped into his head. Since he turned the tea into coffee, he could turn the biscuits into cookie, right? Taking a few biscuits, he tapped his wand on them and turned them into cookies. Popping one in his mouth, he gave one to Lua. "Here, now we got cookies and coffee." Seeing that the excitement had started, Leo shifted his attention to Professor Blaylock to hear what she'd say. |

She picked up the first one, "Professor Forrester's Past is represented by the 7 of Swords, which suggests that he had a desire to be free...sort of a lone wolf complex." The next card was held up to the rest of the people gathered there, "The Knight of Cups represents his Present state." she fought the smile as she went on to explain the card, "This card suggests that our Professor Forrester is rather too sensitive to his emotions right now. And perhaps...he needs to tone them down to be able to see things clearer." The final card was held up as well, "And of course...the 6 of Wands here shows his future state. This card represents triumph, pride. So Professor Forrester here is sure to be quite the accomplished man." She pushed the cards back into the deck and met the eyes of the man before her, "Thank you, that was quite...enlightening." She turned to the rest of the party and smiled, "Who else wants a go? I'm here all night...and hey, you should also try doing some readings of your own. The chart I prepared is quite simple to understand." OOC: Basically, shuffle and pick 3 cards. First card is past, 2nd is present, 3rd is future. What we did was have Vondella randomly click on 3 cards in that site I linked you to. I need to go sleep (it's 6 am), but don't worry...the thread will be open all weekend for anyone who wants to go on with the reading. I'll come back later and reply to everyone. Ya'll should try RPing together, and even if you can't get it right, that's fine cos it's all In Character. |
Celestina turned her attention to Whende and shrugged, one hand rubbing all the spots the teapot had attacked. "The cards? I never heard of killing cards," spoke Celestina and figured that Whende could be the first person to try. "Touuuuch it," she whispered in the most convincing tone she could muster. |
Katelyn was trying to figure out how this worked. Her family never beleived in Divination, but she wanted to come to the party anyway. She sat in her seat, quietly thinking to herself what is going on? |
Gemma started her way up the stairs, concentrating hard, her tongue pressed against her cheek, trying to remind herself that she could climb stairs withouth falling down them. "I can do it," the clumsy Ravenclaw declared as she took another step. Suddenly, she caught sight of the candles and beamed. "What pretty-ah!" Gem yelled, toppling head over heels down the stairs and landing at the bottom of them with a BUMP! "Oh bother," murmured the golden eyed girl. "Ah well. Atleast I wasn't at the top of the stairs," she chirupped optimistically, standing up and starting her way up the stairs, again, for the fifth time. After a few more attempts she jumped into the room, amazed by the beautiful candles and smiled at everyone, waving vigorously at them and handing out a few random hugs. Oh a party! She loved parties! Could this day get muc better? Gem highly doubted it. Skylar and her had expressed their feeling for eachother, she had hung out with her good friend, Cassandra, and read a quarter of the way through her book Myths. "What a lovely room!" She exclaimed, clasping her hands together and twirling around absent mindely. She found a seat and watched everyone with incredibly wide, curious eyes while her fingers wound through her hair, plaiting it into one, shoulder-blade lengthed braid. |
When shrugged. "Ok." Even if they died... they'd just be dead, right? She pulled a hand from below the table and gently poked the stack of cards. But if any of the characters on the cards moved, she really couldn't tell. They were all stuck in the deck. "I think I'll touch them later," she said decidedly and stuck her arm back beneath the table. |
Amelia pulls herself up through the trap door to find a warm and cozy room, lit by dozens of floating candles. She gazed around to see if she could spot anyone that she new, but sadly she could not find anyone which might have been from the dim lighting. Blinking her eyes a couple times to try and adjust to the lighting, she eventually saw this nifty self-refilling teapot and made her way over there. She poured herself a cup of tea and took a couple cookies to much on too, as she sat down watching some people use the tarot cards. |

Katelyn spotted Gem, who look happy(whats new?), and she decided to go talk to her. "Hey, Gem, whats up?" she asked, smiling, her eyes sparkling. She loved talking to Gem because the girl alwasy made you feel happy...she was like a big balloon of happiness. Katelyn hoped the girl's happiness could rub off on her. Katelyn turned to Repunzel. "No, im afraid i dont. I was forbidden to study ahything about Divination at my house...strict parents," she lied. Her parents were niot something she wanted to talk about at a party. |

Katelyn was a bit taken aback when she girl turned around. "Hey, wait, whats your name?" she asked nicely. "Do you know how to read those cards?" she asked. She turned to Gem. "I guess ill have to try divination out before i decide if i like it or not. But my mother didnt like, so i never knew much about. Oh and thanks," she said about the compliment about her hair. "Oh, i had a...lovely day," she lied, not wanting to bring Gem down. She was in an okay mood, but it hadnt been her best day. |

She flipped over an Empress, the five of Cups, and the Knight of Swords. |
Gemma Jewels smiled as if someone had put the world in the palm of her hand. "Oh I understand! Dad thinks magic is the devil so when I came into the Wizarding World I decided to keep an open mind about everything. Poor Daddy, he doesn't quite understand it all. But he's a very, very good man and I love him very much." Not many in Gem's position would say this about Robert Jewels. Robert as cold, calculating, and hated his daughter with all of his heart. He constantly told her what a bratty little girl she was, and how she looked like a half-starved orphan, and other retched things. Gem merely smiled and shrugged these things off and would give her father a hug, dismissing his harsh actions with a wave of her hand and deciding he had just had a bad day. And if that was so, she had a bad day everyday. "I shall write him today! I haven't written dear Father sense I got here. Oh, he and Mother are probably worried," she sighed, looking incredibly guilty. "I just have been so busy with things... But I shall right them. Beatrice and Cece too." Gem was surely one of a kind. She adored her twin sisters and they pushed her out of windows and chased her with their car. "I shall have to send them a present!" She concluded with a nod of her head. |

"Want to play Go Fish?" She inquired jokingly and began to shuffle the cards. Might as well entertain herself and ingnore Blaylock's want of her to ingest massive amounts of tea by the end of the party. |
Katelyn waved at Gem, and told she would see her later. She turned to Repunzal. "Wait, what? Im already confused, sorry," said Katelyn with a giggle, feeling incredibly stupid. |
Jenna kept on straining her eyes to read her book. What the heck did it say? But before she could figure that out, she had gone off to sleep again. OOC: I have to go now, relatives are here...bye everyone. |
Eliza moved towards Professor B and gazed at the cards that were chosen by the Man she did not know, her eyes were oddly drawn to the 7 of Swords. It looked pwettiful. She was tempted to touch the card and pick it up, maybe she could play snap with the stack of cards! That'd be fun! But--- she didn't suspect this cards were like the normal Muggle types. As she listened to Blaylock-Erikson explain what This Male Professor's cards meant, she frowned. Hmm..... Now. All she had to do was find someone to read out her own tarots. Or--- she'd do it herself. One always works best on one's on. She took a pack of cards and moved over to an empty table. She looked at the cards and began to shuffle them before picking out three. The 10 of Swords, The Knight of Wands and The Fool. |

Then Rapunzel placed the cards back on the table and gestured for Katelyn to draw three of her own. "Why don't you draw three and I'll look up the meanings, okay?" |

Lua frowned when he pulled the cup out of her hand, how dare he? Pouting at him she pushed his hands off her waist. "How could you not live without magic?" she whispered, completely baffled by his opinion as her attention got distracted by the Professor instructing them how to play. She blinked repeatedly at the mention of monsters, what was he talking about? Skimming the room for creatures, but there was none other than Professors, students, and one baby. Sighing, she grabbed a cup and covered it with her hand before any bewitched tea pot poured into it and followed to the table Leo picked. Lowering herself to the chair, she poured herself some of the coffee Leo bewitched, "definitely ours" smiling at him shiftily. It was him playing with his wand again, he loved transfiguring things and yet he still denies the fact that he cannot live without magic. "Cookies" she smiled though kept a careful watch on where he kept his wand, just in case he decides to do something wacky with all the sugar and caffeine intake. Shuffling the cards on the table, she nudged them in Leo's direction "Pick three, Com'on" adding a teasing smile. |

Maddison had failed to notice the time and knew she was probably late to the tarot reading. She had become so engulfed in her work that she had almost forgotten about the gathering. Climbing the stairs to the trapdoor Maddison quietly entered so as to not disturb the atmosphere of the room. She hadn’t really planned on taking part in the reading, she just wanted to observe. Taking a seat on one of the empty cushions she watched as everyone shuffled a stack of tarot cards. |
Katelyn smiled and nodded. She picked three cards. She picked the Temperence, Eight of Wands, and Knight of Pentacles. "Here. What do they mean?" she asked, not looking at the girl She dindt seem very nice. |

He wished they were playing cards. A little poker here and there, that would be a good thing. "How about this, every time we see things we don't like. We change them into cookies and coffee." Leo smirked as he poured himself some more coffee. Feeling the caffeine kick in, he looked over at Lua when she wasn't looking at him, and attacked her with a kiss on the cheek. "Love ya." he laughed winking. Going back to the cookies he took one and started eating it. "You know I don't believe in these things, but what the heck." Shrugging he took out three cards Knight of Wands. The Sun. The World. "If you can read then little missy, tell me about it." he laughed. "Now you're turn." Shufflinf the cards, he pointed them to Lua to pick three. |
Amanda skipped the whole way from the Grounds all the way up to the Seventh Floor. Having lost track of time, she was late. "Better late than never," she membled under her breath. Amanda walked up the stairs of the trapdoor and quietly enbtered the room. "Tarot cards?" Amanda asked herself under her breath. "Never really got to understand those things." Amanda sighed and took an empty seat. It looks like she'll be observing today, which was just fine with her. |

"The Eight of Wands says that you are about to make a big decision, take some action, make your move, more or less. So that's good, right?" So far, things were looking better for Katelyn than they were for her.... "Okay, and your third card....the Knight of Pentacles......oooh," Rapunzel drew in her breath. How could she word this nicely? "Ummmm, in your future, you will become a stubborn, but hardworking, uhh, person who pursues her goals ruthlessly. Yep," she continued. "And I think that's all there is to it. Not so bad, eh?" she asked nervously. For some reason, she wanted this girl's approval. "I'm only a first year, and I know Divination is a weird subject, but I think we did this right....." |
Katelyn nodded. "The past sounds right...so does the the thing about making a big decision. And we'll just see about the future one...," she smiled at the girl. "Hey, thanks. I really have no idea what im doing..im gonna go get soemthing to drink," she said nicely, and walked off to get some punch, or whatever they had. She was thirsty. |

Having shuffled the cards, Bucky dealt five cards to Whende and five for herself. Setting the remaining pile in the middle of the table. Celestina frowned at her cards. She had The Fool, The Queen of Wands, The Queen of Cups, an 8 of Cups and a 3 of swords. Looking up at Whende she raised her brows. "Well, you go first!" |

Whende stared at her cards, trying to figure out what they were supposed to match up with. A 2 of Wands, Strength, The King of Swords, a 9 of Cups, and The Page of Wands stared back up at her. "Er... I... uh... Do you have a... er..." Thiiiiiiiink. Come on. "Uh... a 9 of... of somethings?" |
Katelyn drank her drink, happy with what Rapunzal had told her. She grabbed a cookie, and nibbled at it. She wasnt into junk food, but she was hungry. |
Alicia walked up the steps to the seventh floor and looked up at the trapdoor. She heard there was a Tarot party going on, and everyone was invited. The trapdoor stairs descended, and Alicia climbed up them into the bustle of the party. She noticed her friend, Amanda and walked over to her and sat in an empty seat. "Hey Amanda" she said happily. "Interesting party, eh? Do you wanna play some cards?" she asked. |
