Then she returned to contemplating her own cards. 'Hmmm,' she thought. 'Empress, so in my past I was...motherly? True, I guess, to my sister. Abundance, nature, yadayada. So the present....Five of Cups.' She looked up the card's meaning in her reference guide and gasped. "Oh no oh no oh no," Rapunzel wailed outloud by accident. 'So this probably means that I'm not gonna make the Quidditch team...after all, it's says I'm suffering regret and I'm gonna be disappointed by events. Just peachy.' She turned over the last card with dismal hopes for the future. 'The Knight of Swords...oh wonderful,' she thought with a snarl on her face. 'I'm going to become an unfeeling, opinionated, but logical and objective person.' Rapunzel sighed and shuffled the three cards back into the deck. She wondered when her cousin was going to show up and hoped that maybe she was wrong and had misinterpreted her cards.............. |
kimberly wandered into the Divination room looking around for Rapunzel finally spotting her-but noticing that she looked distressed walking up to her kimberly asked "whats wrong?" |
Okay. 10 of Swords, The Knight of Wands, The Fool. Fool! Yep. That's me! Okay. Focus, Eliza, Foooccccuuuussss!! Eliza squinted at her cards as she tried to concentrate. She cleared her throat and proceeded to mumble to herself as she interpreted the meanings of her cards. "Hmmm....10 of Swords. Feeling like a victim. Wondering 'Why me?' " She smirked "Yep. That's my past, present AND future!" Okay.CON-CEN-TRATE! "The Knight of Wands. Self-confident. Cocky. feels strong loyalties. Is too ready for a fight." She gave an actually growl at that. Were these cards telling her that she was too full of herself? Because she most definitely was NOT! Only Kinda. A Bit. A Lot. Eliza went towards the Fool and smirked "Entering a new phase. Doing the unexpected. I like it!" she left the cards in their place and waited to see if Professor B would pop over and really tell her what her cards meant. She, of course, was only reading what the Chart said. |

Celestina glanced down at her cards and worried her bottom lip, her free hand rubbed her cheek thoughtfully. "Nope," replied finally the red head. "Go fish, my multi-colored haired friend." |
When tugged at her hair for a second before drawing a card: 2 of Pentacles. "Oh goody," she said. If she was going to delight over every good card, this habit could become a problem. She tucked the card into her hand and ran her tongue over her lower lip. "Go," Whende said. |

trying to cheer her new friend up kimberly said "my aunt always told me that Divination was baloney""your cards dont mean anything" "lets go back to the dorm and play exploding snap there" |
Gem shuffled around a deck and bit he lip. "This'll be fun!" She promised herself, drawing thee cards. "Okey dokey. Lemme see. Ooo! What a beautiful picture! Hm... To the charts!" She exclaimed, scanning her book. "Okey. Um... Past card. The past would be... the Tower. What a pretty card and it means Loss." For a moment she stared at the card, mouth hung open wide. She hadn't lost anything! But that's just the way Gem saw it. She had lost a bunch of things when becoming a witch. Her father's love, her sisters' love, her mother's courage, her rights to sit at the dinner table, her freedom, her confidence. But she didn't see it that way at all. "I don't see how that relates to me. Okay. Well, next card. Fool. New beginnngs. Innocence. Alrighty! I like that one! And the second card tells of my present state, right?" She inquired. "Okay third would be future." She shivered at the card. "Not the prettiest," she whispered, looking at it doubtful. "Deat which would mean..." her fingers skimmed along the page until she found the card. "Loss, rebirth, unexpected change. Um... I have no clue what that means," she stated and laughed, betting her life that she had done this wrong. "Will someone help me?" Gem inquired aloud. |

Eliza had begun to try and change the meaning of her 2nd card, taking out her wand and zapping the chart furiously. "I--Am---Not---Cocky!" she chanted with every flick which only caused a small whisp of smke to billow from the tip of her wand. She looked at her wand and growled angrily "Stupid thing!" she hissed, pocketing her wand and folding her arms. She gazed at teh cards and wanted to rip the second one to pieces. "Stupid, rotten card saying I'm Self-confident and Cocky." she grumbled. She heard a girl ask her help and decided she might aswell be helpful and go and help the girl who asked for help. As she spotted who it was, she realised it was that overly-giddy girl from the train. Oh---What was it. Hmmm... GEM! "Gem! Over here! We can read each other's cards! Come on!" she called, motioning for Gem to come on over to her empty table. |

Elizabeth slowly poked her head through the trapped door. Crap. She thought to herself. Everyone was already sectioned off into little groups. Rapunzel told her about the party earlier that day and she completely forgot. Exploding Snap has always been her weak spot. Elizabeth finally gathered her courage and pulled herself up through the door. It was a nice set-up. The calming glow from the candles eased her nerves as she looked around for Rapunzel. Her long blonde hair stood out against the red tapestry hanging behind her. Smiling, Elizabeth walked over to Rapunzel only to find her frowning. "There's no reason to fret my dear. They're only flimsy pieces of paper." |

The trap door opened silently as a panting and tired looking Professor Pride, clutching her side, entered the room. She quietly sat down near Professor Forrester and muttered, "Believe it or not I actually started walking up here before everyone else, blasted ribs." |
Antwone climbed the ladder towards the open trap door wondering how much of the party he missed. As he got to the top of the ladder he poked his hand out of the door and looked around to see a few people next to tables which had floating candles and teapots buzzing around their tables bedecked with tarot cards. With enough examination of the room, Antwone climbed the rest of the ladder and onto the solid ground of the Divination class. Once he had dusted himself up and caught his balance he went over to get a tea cup which was met with a swarm of floating teapots flooding him with tea. Once the cup was overflowing (and he shouted to the teapots that he had had enough) he started to swat them away like flies until they floated away to another table. After Antwone cleaned his blue sweater off with his wand he walked passed his Transfiguration teacher and a few other students before he could find anyone he knew. Each time he would catch a glimpse of a friend they would dodge out of his sight due to floating teapots, candles and other guests of the party. He circled around the classroom again and again, waiting for a familiar face to pop into his sight. |

Sho noticed people going up into the Divination classroom. He ascended the stairs and peeked his head through the trap door. He looked around the room and saw tons of students and teachers looking at decks of Tarot cards. His father used to play around with those... "Hmm... I wonder..." he said as he pulled himself up into the classroom. "Can anyone join in the fun?" |
After shuffling the deck Touy carefully pulled 3 cards from the deck. The 1st card was the Page of Cups, the 2nd card was the Ace of Wands and the final card was the 2 of Pentacles. I hope this is good thought Touy. "Ok so the past is a light hearted abandon that would be my childhood. The present is potential, of course going to school was the courage and potential. The future is flexible has to be juggled and is hopefully fun. Do you think I got it right?" Touy screwed up her face in a puzzled look. |

Eliza chuckled at Gem as she bounced up and down and waved madly, Gem surely did have the energy of a caffeine-filled child. As Gem skipped over and tripped. She giggled even more, her hair giving a slight frizz as if she had just stuck her finger in an electrical socket. Smiling at Gem, she nodded politely "I've been very well. And yourself? How have you been these few days?" she asked in a cheery voice. "Oh-It's okay. We can just guess. Or, if the worst comes to the worst and we don't know which card is which, we can try to make towers out of the cards!" she said, giggling as she spoke. She watched as Gem took out a--- a toad or a frog or some cross between a slimey critter, and kissed it. "Hoping it'll turn into a Prince, are we?" she questioned, joking. |
Quote:
Elizabeth smirked. "Alright then. You're on. Shuffle the cards." She watched Rapunzel sit back down and shuffle the remaining cards and place then down in front of her. Elizabeth warily turned over the top three cards. Her first card was the Eight of Wands. Ok. Lots of energy. Elizabeth reminded herself. The Four of Cups was next and then the Ace of Pentacles. "Okey... So apparently, I will become wealthy while my loved ones slip away. But I should follow what the Eight of Wands says and not be to hasty with my sudden rise in income. WHAT? I don't even have a job!" |
After a few moments, when Antwone could not find anyone he recognized, he climbed back down the ladder to the Divination classroom to take a walk on the grounds. |

Rapunzel loved teasing her cousin. They were good buds; she knew Elizabeth could handle it. |
Casey walked into the divation room to go to the party. She didnt know who was going to be there so she silently went in a found a seat. |
OOC: Sorry this is so long. This is why I hardly ever write RPG posts during the school year, lol - I tend to get carried away! Lauren, finally having reached the Divination classroom, heaved herself down beside one of the tables set up in the room. Fashionably late, she thought with a slight chuckle as she shuffled her bottom slightly, her back finding its place and curling comfortably against one of the circular tables. Her chest heaved and, inwardly, it burned from years out of shape and far too many stairs trodden at one time. Small beads of sweat broke out along her forehead. She wiped quickly at her brow in an attempt to halt their journey. Her breathing soon returned to normal and her heart's song grew to sound more like a reliable, rhythmic drum melody than the wild tiger's cry it had echoed minutes before. Now she allowed herself to take in her surroundings. Each of the tables in the tower, large and round, served as platforms for multiple cups of steaming tea and decks of the rectangular cards. The orange light from the floating candles flickered across the room, rising and falling to match the rise and fall of the candles themselves. The light, while washing the tower in something of a warm, inviting blanket, reminded Lauren of the threatening waves in a sort of unreal, fiery sea. Soft from a distance. Deadly up close. Some of the party's guests were already breaking the decks on the tables, turning cards over, consulting with Professor Blaylock-Erikson's chart. Some smiled at the assessment of their lives displayed in front of them. Others scratched their heads or brushed at their chins, obviously confused with either what the results meant for their fates or how they could possibly relate to their current situations. Some still looked displeased, shrugging off their cards as simply a loss in an inconsequential game. That was how Lauren had felt about tarot cards up until now. They were a game, a game she did not necessarily want to play. Her uncle on her mother's side, long gone by now, had been an avid fan of this sort of thing. He had brought his deck to every get-together, she remembered, setting up his spread on an open coffee table and practically heckling his family members until they agreed to sit with him for a moment. When he read Lauren's cards on the lone occasion she allowed him to do so, he primarily predicted for her moments of strength, reliable support from those around her, good health, happiness. He was always predicting such things for people: good fortune, love, luck, wishes come true. He must have rid the deck of any bad cards before coming to the parties, for a card warranting a menacing interpretation was never turned so long as she could recall. Lauren contemplated long and hard her coming to the party and, of course, ultimately did, but only for the company of others: she did not actually believe that the cards "held her future" or could tell her anything about herself she already didn't know. After all, such good things her uncle had predicted never really did come true for her family, did they? But still she sat, now facing one of the tables, her teacup half-empty, biscuit crumbs scattered before her, and therefore no further reason not to attack the deck. She picked it up with graceful fingers, feeling the weight of it in her hands. And so, Lauren shuffled the cards, as they were instructed to do by their hostess, and chose three that felt favorable to her. She placed each one down in front of her, left to right and face down, the cards dropping to the table with a slight snap. Taking a deep breath, she flipped the first over. The 8 of Cups, she read to herself. This was her past and, according to the Professor's chart, signifies a past losing of hope, of abandoning a hopeless situation, and a searching for a personal truth. Pretty accurate, Lauren mused, still with nagging doubt. She now turned over her middle card. This was the Queen of Wands, and by its position it was meant to represent the present. The chart told Lauren that, by this card, she now was warm and sincere, radiates health and optimism, and quietly demonstrates a self-confidence and faith in herself. Well. That was quite true, too. And now the third. Her future. The card Lauren was most interested in revealing. It was the 4 of Pentacles, a card that predicted a desire to get one's share out of life, a need to be in control of one's own life and decisions, and a resfusal to accept change. Lauren's fingertip lingered on this final card. She marveled at the cards sitting in front of her, gulping what was left of her tea with shaky swallows. Out of all of her uncertainty came three suitable cards, and with them three very relevant interpretations. Coincidence? She doubted it. |
*Madame Rowena enters the room and smiles at the people pondering the meaning of their cards. She goes over to greet Natasha* "Thank-you very much for the invitation! What a wonderful idea," she says while gesturing lightly to the people around the room, "I even brought my own set of tarot cards," she states. |
Rae watches the action all around her, a small smile on her face. She was lucky enough to have a private reading last term. She probably didn't need another one this soon. Actually, after the disaster of that reading, she didn't really want one. |
Bess entered the Divination classroom through the trapdoor. 'Good day, professor,' she said and took her seat....she was smiling nervously and trying to keep her mind open....which she didn't know why, seemed to be a very hard thing to do at the moment! |

Celestina grunted at Whende, green eyes glancing from atop her cards at the new arrivals. Some Raenclaws and a very quiet Slytherin whom she had never seen but then again, Bucky was never one to remember most faces unless she could pin an accident or funny incident on them. Drumming the fingers on the free hand of the coffee table, Bucky sucked her teeth repeatedly, loudly and annoyingly. "Do you have a Queen of...whatever?" Bucky interrogated, desperately hoping not having to draw a card. She wasn't very good at games which is why she didn't bother to try out for Quidditch even if she adored the game and commentating was almost as good as flying. Almost. Not quite though. Turning to the new Slytherin (Lauren/Laudienne) she raised her brows. "I don't know about you. But I think trying to find out our future quite sucks the fun out of things. Wanna play Go Fish?" Celestina seriously hoped Blay wouldn't be too upset with her for not doing the work, as usual and decided that she'd drink some tea as a peace offering. Soon. Eventually. "Where's that pot?" |
So tarot cards, right?Well Bess shuffled them and chose three: Judgement;Queen Of Pentacles;Quuen Of Wands..... |
Erikson walked over to Rae with a small smile. "Not joining in the fun?" he asked, nudging her. Of course, it was rather clear that he had no intention of doing a reading himself. The odd feelings had passed him by, and if he could have any more surprises, he was going to let them remain surprises until they happened. |

"Hmmm, we'll see about that" she muttered in whispers even if there was a hint of menace hidden in there somewhere. "You got a deal, coffee and cookies for life!" she winked sipping some of her coffee as she waited for him to pick three cards out of the deck. Her eyes kept darting to neighboring tables out of curiosity and whether they knew how to read those cards or not, she really wasn’t understanding the instructions properly. Her face quickly shifted to his direction when he kissed her cheeks feeling that tingly feeling again, "me too" she giggled bashfully pushing a hair strand behind her ear watching him eat cookies, or more so waiting for him to pick cards. "Sometimes their true" she replied "the beyond holds more surprises than you think" as her face straightened to hold a more serious look, or a more tempted one. Eyeing each card he pulled out, she placed them in order in front of her. "Lets see" she began, "Your past" she teased looking at the Knight of wands card, "it says that you're charming yet Superficial, Self-confident but Cocky, Daring and Foolhardy, Adventurous yet Restless, Passionate but Hot-tempered" stopping to eye him seriously, "my oh my I concur on 4 of those things only" she smiled holding herself from sticking her tongue out at him. Flipping the second card around, Lu glanced at him shiftily - she was ready to tease him, very ready. “Your present” she began trying to carry a serious tone as she spoke, “The sun says: enlightened, greatness, vitality, and assurance” raising an eyebrow “Okay I don’t know about your present. Seems fuzzy because it doesn’t mention me in there” shaking her head slightly “that’s definitely not true, okay I’m moving onto your future hopefully it may be more promising” letting out a sigh she took hold of the third card and flipped it. “The world” she muttered eyeing the chart closely, somehow this part was more important to her than the rest, out of curiosity that is. “Lets see” she teased some more “It says you’ll be having someone special to share your life with, someone you’ve grown close to lately” feeling a menacing smile growing at the edge of her lips, of course this wasn’t included in the chart, but she wanted to have fun with this chart reading, “and you’ll conquest the world at some point with all the greatness you’ll build along the way” finishing up to glance at him, “That’s the best reading of all three cards I think” breaking into a soft chuckle as she pulled three cards in order. Hanged Man Death The High priestess Pushing the cards towards Leo along with the chart , Lu held her cup and started sipping coffee. |
When stared at her cards. They were starting to get a bit confusing. What did a Queen look like again? It was weirder when all the figures actually looked like people. According to her, only Kings, Queens, and Jacks should have faces, and she should be able to look for the King of Hearts and laugh at him. "Erm." Let's see. That guy was a guy. There was a lion on that one. Do Queens have pet lions? No, probably not. Hum-de-dum... um um um. The one with the big sword was all kingish. And... meh. "Go fish," she finally decided, and tried to organize her cards. Maybe that might help her to keep track of them. |
"The last time around was rather nerve wracking," Rae lit up at the sight of Armand and baby Damian. "Can I see him? I miss having a little cuddle bug of that size around. The girls only want to be held for so long before they're ready to up and go again." |
Tia frowned. And again. And again. So, what exactly was happening here? "WHAAAAT'S THHHHHHHHHHISSSS?" she half screamed as she let herself in. Then she paused. Oh my God, professors. More. And more. And - The Headmistress. Oh oh. "Um, so yeah, I'll just go and sit, yeah." She bumped. Not knowing into whom, she bumped. She turned around, it was Whende. And Bucky. "Errm, hi." What was wrong with her? - She so had no idea. Too much coffee, yeah, that was it. She hoped. |
Daphne Jones climbed through the trap door to the Divination Classroom. Her parents laughed at the thought of Divination, but Daphne thought it was pretty cool. She didn't see anyone she recognized, so she sat at an empty table and poured herself a cup of tea. |
Lainey poked her head up through the trap door. If she wouldn't have seen Rae, she probably would have just left. Tarot cards always told her she would die and she already knew that. She climbed the rest of the way in and went to stand next to Rae. Lainey peeped over her shoulder at the baby. Having babies seemed to be the new and "in" thing do to at Hogwarts. Pfffft. "Cute," Lainey smiled, making her arrival known to at least Rae. |
Quote:
"You can say that again." She sighed lightly and gave one last glance to her cards. "I think I've decided that I'd like things to just happen on their own," she nodded. She swept a hand across the table, picking up her three cards and putting them back on the top of her deck, squaring the edges with her thumbs. "Besides, I rather like the surprise," she said with a small shrug and a grateful smile to Celestina. She grabbed her teacup, drank the last few drops remaining at the bottom (never one to waste), and got up from her seat. She took a few light steps over to the Go Fish group, certainly happy for the distraction and the company, and asked, "Can I just jump right in?" |
Ariana had been lost in her own little world, and snapped back to rality shaking her head. She had been focusing hre ability to try and read one person emotions, shutting out alll others around her. For awhile it worked too, she couldn't sense anything but the one person, then everything shut down and she was hit with the emotions of everyone around her. She wavered, trying to get her balance on her cushion, hoping no one noticed her. Looking around she saw everyon still doing the tarot readings, and wanted to try it out too. So, getting up, she looked around for someone who didn't have a partnet. She looked out of place, but kept her smile on her face. |

"Hey," she said, looking at a Ravenclaw girl she was sure she had not seen before when she had last attended at Hogwarts. "New here?" she asked curiosly. "Or did you join while I was away? Or we could just never have met before, but I'd like to disregard that possibility, you know . . ." she smiled, slightly. |

"Well the beyond can sometimes be wrong." Leo frowned, seeing that she had on her serious look. "You know why I don't believe in those. The beyond always tells you about what may happen to you. I'm half muggle, so I'd prefer living normally without anyone telling me what will happen to me when I shrivel up." He watched her as she flipped the first card which was his past. "Cocky? Excuse me but I was not cocky." he defensively said. "Also I wasn't hot-tempered," Leo paused for a while to think, "Okay so maybe I was or maybe I still am. What is this anyway an interrogation?!" He laughed. "Mmmm...read more about the charming and the adventurous, I like that." he said moving closer to Lua to get a better view of the cards. Yeah right. Leo kept glancing at Lua to see if she was fooling around with him. She was doing that lately and it drove him mad. He pouted when she said that they were moving onto the next card. "But I like the greatness and enlightenment thingy. Come on talk about it a bit. "But he knew it wasn't going to help him. "You know even without these cards, you'll be in my life you doof." He laughed poking her shoulder teasingly. "I like this world card." Leo breathed as he heard what she said. "Mmm with someone I've grown close to lately. I wonder who's that. Would is be Toni?" he teased, knowing that it was her. "So the world card says I'm going to rule the world with my greatness, not much of a future there, but hey it's okay." he shrugged as he saw her pull her three cards. "Fine my turn!" he said as he took the cards and chart. Coughing once, he flipped the first card. "Hanged man." Leo said in an amused voice, "Well...Lu did you have a thing for hanged men?" he joked around. "Okay okay" Taking a deep breath, he looked over the chart. "Mmm says here the hanged man is all about letting go." He frowned. "As in surrendering to a new experience." This made him raise his brow. "Also says that it's about reversing, suspending and sacrificing." What a weird reading. "Let's see more of this sacrificing, since you like the dead so much." Leo joked. "You put others first and you take one step back to take two steps forward." Glancing back at her, he shook his head. "My, my, Lu. Why have I never knew that?" he asked her. "Now now, let's go to present since I don't do very well in pasts." Flipping the next card made his eyes widen. "Death," He gulped. "So death says that you closed one door and opened a another, that you changed your status and that you moved from the known to the unknown." Leo said thinking about what he was reading. "You're getting back to basics and you're getting caught something you can not avoid." "Okay I'm not liking present at all." He said shaking his head. "Let's go to future and get it over with this stupid reading." Leo said feeling his mood being ruined with the first two cards. Flipping the last card, he took a deep breath. "The high priestess." Pausing for a moment to glance at Lua. "Nonactive as in you become calm, you wait patiently and that you withdraw from some involvement around you. You trust your inner voice and you use your intuition." He frowned. Well that's a good thing, isn't it? Looking at Lua with his blue eyes, he turned around the chart to continue his reading, even though he hated it. "You will be understanding the possibilities and you'll see your hidden talent." Leo had to laugh at this, "I wonder what's that hidden talent." he joked. "Okay since I want to end this fast, you'll be opening to the unknown in the future." Pushing the cards away, he looked back at Lua. "This is why I don't like them readings, they tell you bad things." He sighed as he poured him some coffee. "Now, since we're down, let's just...chill" he grinned like a fool. |

Eliza smirked at Gem's reply, chuckling even more at Gem's words. Slendidly! Pfft! What's THAT? "Okay.Sit down, sit down." she said, flicknig her wand at the bean-bag type chair for Gem. Giggling, she looked at Gem. "Wanna start making a tower now or later?" she questioned, picking up the rest of the pack and taking out two cards. She flexed the two cards before placing them steadily on the table in a ^ so they stood up upon the table. Laughing at Gem as she asked if she really believed it was a prince, she gave a small shrug. "It could be! I've kissed a few toads myself and The most handsome one did turn into a Prince! My Prince Charming." She gave a dreamy sigh. She hadn't actually KISSED a Toad, she was one about Boys. And The most handsome 'toad' who turned out to be a Prince was, of course, Elijah. "I wonder if my cards point to a good life with Elijah?" She looked at Gem "Elijah is my boyfriend, by the way." |

Natalie waved her hand in front of her face in an effort to fan herself. She had already slightly been sweating from all the stairs she had stomped up, and the candles were not helping. She was glad she had decided to wear her plaid shorts with a white cami and her favorite pair of flip-flops, which were starting to look pretty old and used from wearing them so much. As she looked around the room, Natalie realised she didn't really know anyone here, and groups were formed already. She decided she would go meet the professor when she heard Tia's voice. "Tia!" Natalie said in surprise, spinning around and walking over to her. "Hey, I haven't talked to you in so long." Natalie was smiling, glad she had found someone she knew, even though she could barely remember when she had seen Tia last. It was a shame, because Natalie had thought Tia was really nice and would have been a good friend if they had talked more. |

After seeing the notice pinned up in the Common Room Jack was curious to find out what the night was about. He climbed through the trapdoor to see a lot of people crowded into the small room, all playing with cards. No, not playing with them. "Reading" them. The room was very warm as usual and the added bonus of candles was more a hinder than a help. Jack was way too hot for his own good so took off his jacket and wrapped it round his waist. Mostly girls were in the room. Great. He thought. Flirt-factory. He wasn't sure who to go to first so he just stood there for a few minures picking at some dirt under his nail. Seeing a spare pack of cards on a table he picked it up and flicked through them. Pfft ... like these could predict the future. He thought to himself scinically. |

"Oh!" Natalie said after hearing Daphne's offer. She was torn between two people. She didn't know if it would be rude to just leave Tia like that. Of course, Tia did seem to be talking to another girl. "Sure," Natalie decided. Before she followed Daphne to the table she added, "I'll talk to you later, okay, Tia?" Natalie sat down on a chair, fixing the necklace she was wearing so the clasp wasn't in the front. She cautiously lifted a cup of tea, careful not to spill it on herself. She was known for doing things like that. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself," Natalie said apologetically to Daphne. "I'm Natalie De Clerq." Natalie's eyes swept the room before her, watching people drinking tea and looking at tarot cards. She had no idea what anyone was doing. "Have you taken Divination before? I am for the first time this term, so I really don't have a clue what's going on." |
Jen walked up after reading the notice in the common room. She had just got back from quidditch tryouts and had gone to change when she remebered about this. Walking up to the room, Jen looked around. She spotted jack, the boy from diagon alley, sitting in one area. 'Hey. Remeber me?' She asked, sitting next to him. She pulled down her long brown hair as she sat, letting the curls flow down her back. |
Mystie not being really at all into this whole fortune telling stuff decided that she would go to this tarot card reading party any ways. Finds her way and entering into the Divination classroom through the trapdoor, she takes a look around the and finds it quite cozy with floating candles and teapot with people holding teacups to them, tarot cards sitting on circular tables and bead bag chairs. A floating teapot came and hit her in the back of the head. 'What the???' Some one spoke up and said it wants to serve you some tea. 'Oh', Mystie finds a teacup, get some and finds a sit. Mystie thought well at less they have tea. I like tea. |
Torie was a little sweaty, having just come from Quidditch tryouts, but was curious about this little Tarot party she had seen advertised. Tucking her chin length bright red hair behind her ears, she straightened her robes before climbing up into the divination tower through the trapdoor. The atmosphere was peaceful with floating candles and copious amounts of tea. 'Well,' thought Torie, 'if I don't like the activity, I can at least stay for the fellowship.' Spying an empty table, Torie headed towards it, grabbing a cup and saucer on her way by. Once seated, she proceeded to Accio the teapot, pouring herself a steaming cup before sending the pot back along its way. Her blue eyes looked around the room, searching for a familiar face or a lone comrade with which to share her table. |

Mystie sat back enjoying her tea and watch all the people. One was the head mistress bouncing a baby boy. |
Torie looked at her watch. With a bit of a gasp, she saw how late it was. Clearing up her dishes with a wave of her wand, Tore got ready to leave the divination classroom. She had many things still to do before bed and could not afford to be sitting around doing nothing anymore. Torie left the tower and headed towards the Gryffindor common room. |
Casey walke dinto the divination room and looked around at what was happening. She took a seat and started to sip some tea. She had no idea what she was doing. |

Natasha wandered around the room, checking on the various tables and chuckling at what some of them were doing. She didn't think it was possible to play card games with Tarot cards, but hey...Bucky and Whende seemed to be doing quite well at it. She finally got to where Rae, Lainey and Armand were sitting. The headmistress was holding Damian, so she wasn't worried that he'd fall on his head or anything. "So, anyone here care for a reading?" she asked, keeping up with her role of hostess, complete with floating teapot beside her. |
Lily stole into the back of the classroom a deck of Raider Wyatt tarrot cards in hand, she kept shuffling her cards. "I wouldn't mind one Professor." Lily said and raised her hand quickly, she smiled and looked around the room nervously. |
Natasha turned to the young Ravenclaw and beckoned her to take a seat, right there with the Headmistress, the Deputy head and the Herbology Professor. "Sit down, dearling and we'll try to figure out what you'll have your breakfast tomorrow morning." She winked at the child as she drew up another violently orange pouffe for her. |

"Hey." He started. "Jen, right?" He screwed up his face waiting for her to tell him he had said the wrong name. |
Reading,eh?"Um..Professor?Can I have a reading to?" Bess blabbed out suddenly wondering if she'd done the right thing...Anyway... |
Kennedy entered the Divination Classroom after great effort climbing up all the stairs and dragging herself through the trapdoor in the floor. Once fully in the room, Kennedy glanced around and saw a great number of people - some staff, some student. Professor Blaylock-Erikson's Tarot party appeared to be a great success already. Kennedy had been very excited about this party because Divination was one of her favorite subjects. In fact, she had intended on being one of the first people to arrive but her plans had some interference and the result was that she arrived much later than she hoped. But either way, she was here now and ready to make the most of it. She had studied the Tarot quite a bit over the summer and was ready to see if any of it truly sank in. But first, she decided to walk around and observe the other readings. When Kennedy arrived at the table where Professor Blaylock-Erikson, Headmistress Rae, her Head of House Professor Lainey, Professor Erikson, a very adorable baby boy that reminded Kennedy, somewhat painfully, of her newly born baby brother back home in the States, and a fellow Ravenclaw student sat, Kennedy paused and observed as Professor Blaylock appeared to be starting a reading. Kennedy thought to herself that she would hold off greeting all the professors until the reading was over, not wanting to interrupt Professor Blaylock-Erikson. Kennedy stood nearby, listening intently... |
Jack looked at the table of teachers, one of which was holding a little kid. The Divination teacher was trying to get people together for a reading. He raised his eyebrows sceptically thinking to himself that this party just might be a load of nonsense. He tried to dodge out of the teacher's view so he wasn't invited over and ended up dropping the pack of cards he was holding. Every single card went flying all over the floor. Jack made an annoyed groan and bent down to pick up the cards, there was a lot more than he thought and they had gone in every part of the room. How did they go this far, he thought to himself crawling on his knees gathering up the cards. He spotted a card under a table and crawled over to get it. He now realised that he was actually under the Professor's table and went to get out. As he did he banged his head on the edge of the table as he stood up. "OUCH. Aw stupid table." Jack cursed it under his breath then looked red faced at the Professors. |

Celestina looked away from her cards and used the fortunate distraction to sneakily slip her cards back into the deck and retrieving five new ones. "Sure!" Bucky chirped and pushed the deck towards the Slytherin girl. "Take five uh--I don't know your name. I'm Bucky. Well, actually," she interrupted her self and waved one hand to the side as if weighing her options. "My name is Celestina Warbuck but most just call me Bucky." Then suddenly remembering the person she was playing against she bounced slightly on her pouffe. Never had she been so excited over meeting someone. She was going to blame the competitive streak in her. After all, it was just another girl she needed to beat--even if she had to cheat to do so. "This is Whende," introduced the red-head and it suddenly dawned on her that she didn't know Whende's last name. Or couldn't remember. Most likely couldn't remember. |
Cora slowly walked in, aware of her lateness. But she had been talking to Jamie, who had eventually ditched her and so...here she was! She pushed back her pink hair and looked around the room. "Hey Professor!" She called across the room, cheerfully. She beamed and then spotted a familair, red-haired someone. "Hi Bucky!" She said breathlessly, sitting down beside her. "Ooh, Go Fish!" Grinning, she pulled a pile of cards towards her. "Can I join?" She asked, smilnig hopefully. She would mention later to the older girl that she no longer would trail after her boyfriend, Tag. |
"If he's anything like my Genevieve, then he likes anyone who will hold him and give him a bit of attention." Rae cooed at Damian and tucked him against her, ready to watch the reading that was about to happen. Damian clearly had other plans, however, as he reached for his mother. "Oops," Rae shifted him against her, bumping her cup of tea with her elbow. Trying to settle the cup only made it worse, as the entire thing tipped and spilled it's contents. Luckily, the dregs ended up in the saucer. "I'm sorry!" |
Natasha winced as the scalding tea spilled over the cards laid out on the table. She had just taken her wand out to clean everything up when her eyes caught the very distinct shapes the tea dregs had formed. Her breath caught in her throat and her heart skipped a beat. She reached out with a shaky hand and covered Rae's hand with her own, and suddenly she just knew what the dregs meant. "Cassandra..." she said in a hushed voice, "Do those look like a cat and mouse to you?" |
"A what?" She turned and gazed at the shapes, the smile fading from her lips. She'd distinctly NOT wanted her fortune read today. "I suppose they do. You mean this bit here...?" She pointed to the curl of a tail. |

Eliza chuckled at Gem, she was SO gulible. She put a hand up to her mouth to cover a fit of giggles. Gem was such a laugh, she was as bouncy as a hyper kangaroo and drank in any old information, true or not, like a sponge absorbing water. Then when Gem said that her toad and grapes talked ot her, Eliza couldn't hold it in any longer. Clutching her stomach as tears of laughter trickled down her cheeks, she erupted into a fit of laughter. This was just too much. The start of the tower of cards toppled down, as did Eliza. She toppled out of her chair and onto the floor, holding her ribs as she laughed the day away. "Your toad! Grapes!" she managed to say between sudden bursts of giggles and chuckles. As she asked if Elijah was a toad, her hair began to frizz at a rapid rate. She was trully enjoying this as she rolled about the floor laughing out loud. She didn't care if she was making a scene or was seeming crazy, most people already thought she was crazy and what Gem had said totally deserved this amount of laughter. She didn't evne heard Gem's next words since they were drowned out by her giggling and cacklnig away upon the floor, her hands around her stomach as they began to hurt from so much laughing. |

'Yeah.' Jen smiled at the fact that he remembered her name. 'So... what exactly are you doing here? You don't strike me as the type to want to read about his future.' Jen laughed a bit. |
Daphne poked her head back up through the trapdoor. The hot air seemed to attack her face. She coughed as the air forced down her throat. She stood up and looked around, hoping to find people she knew. Her hawklike eyes darted around the room and fell upon a familiar-looking Gryffindor girl, Jen she thought her name was. Daphne recognized the girl, but never really spoke to her. She stood up straight and walked over to her. "Hi, I don't know if you remember me, I'm Daphne," she said in her very important sounding high voice. |

Stepping into the slightly stuffy room, Skylar surveyed the small tables and found that there were tarot cards scattered all around the cosy space. He saw quite a few people he was familiar with, including Gem. Ducking under the various floating candles above him, Skylar picked up a card on his way over to Gem and another girl, who seemed greatly amused at something, and stared quite blankly at it. He had no idea how to read these strange cards. Maybe Mudiwa would know, he wondered, smiling at the thought. "Enjoying the party?" Skylar asked Gem, almost tripping over a very inviting-looking chair before sitting down in it. He always had problems navigating in this room. |

Natasha nodded absently, "Well, a dog...but this is a cat and a mouse. I'm quite sure of it." She looked up at Cassandra's face and wondered if she should tell her what they meant. It was probably nothing, and the meanings of the symbols were quite vague...but perhaps a friendly warning would do just the trick. "You don't have to take these things seriously," she said with a tight smile, "But do you want me to tell you what the cat and mouse could potentially mean for you?" |
"I'd say no, but I ought to know if it proves true." She tapped her fingers on the table, drenching them in lukewarm tea. "Tell me," she agreed, sucking the tea off one fingertip. |
Natasha nodded and tried to make light of it by saying in a nonchalant tone, "Well, the cat represents a deceit by a false friend." She shrugged, although inside she was wondering who this person could be. "And this thing here, assuming it's a mouse, which with the tail and the long snout and the whiskers, I'm quite sure is a mouse-" She broke off with a nervous giggle, "Well, the mouse represents theft." And she finished it all in a rush, "So it all points to a theft by a person you believe to be a friend." Please don't fire me. This was said silently, but it very nearly came out. |
Armand sighed and took Damian. It would seem that even readings had their own destiny, and this one was making itself known. "Come on, little one. It would seem that fate wants to play with us again." |

ooc: accident double post. SOOOO sorry!!!!!! |
Rae rose to her feet. "But it doesn't say who or what or why or when, does it? It just... makes me worry about things that COULD happen. I don't care. I can't live in fear, dear." She took Blaylock's hand. "As long as I have Doyle and the girls, and my students are safe... they can steal whatever they want. I have my family and my school." She was going to be at peace. She was, or Merlin help her poor nerves. |
Natasha nodded and stood up with the headmistress, she gave her hand a squeeze, "That's true, and Hogwarts has the best protectors!" She flashed the headmistress a reassuring smile before turning to her husband and son. It was nearly time for Damian to go to bed...she looked at her watch and realized that it was almost 9 o'clock. "Oh dear, time for the students to go to bed, I believe." She said to the headmistress, "Sorry for keeping them out so late." |
"Classes tomorrow," Rae clapped her hands, winking at Blaylock. "To bed, to bed!" |

"Fish fish fish," When reminded Bucky. "For fish. Like Doctor Seuss." Did Bucky know what a Seuss was anyway? Prolly not. But he was awwwwwwwesome. The bestest... best ever. "I like When," she said. "When is good too. What's your name?" Yeah, feet on table would be just fine, hopefully. She stuck her feet on the table, realizing too late what would happen. She fell backward off the pouffe, her tie falling in her face and her feet sticking straight up in the air. "Ouch." Feet on table: Bad idea. "Bedddddd?" She said, shaking her hair out of her face and trying to turn herself upright. "Bed is no fun at all." |

"Hello, Gem." Skylar said slowing, not sure what was funny eough to send the girls out of their seats to the floor. "I suppose, the sky is quite a lovely blue today." he said, nodding in agreement. "A lot of clouds as well." Skylar added, looking at the card that was still in his hand hard enough, noticing that there were infact cloud-like shapes in the background. "I saw a cloud that looked a bit like a toad today, actually." he said, half to himself. This room always made him sleepy and far less down to earth. Thoughs of the future and divination and clouds ran along the edges of Skylar's mind as more students entered the classroom. |
"Thanks for attending, everyone, it was a fabulous way to start the term. And now...well, I hope I've enlightened you all a wee bit to what's to come this term, if not...I hope you had a good time." Natasha smiled as she went about pitching the students out of her classroom (figuratively speaking, of course, as she was on the 7th floor and that could have been very dangerous). "Chop, chop, dearlings. It's nearly time for your curfey, wouldn't want to run into Lord Borr now!" |
Bucky glanced at her cards then at Whende then at Slytherin girl whose name she had forgotten already. Did she even say her name? Then finally at the Headmistress and Blaylock. "But I was going to fish!" She whined and held up the cards to Blay, a childish pout decorating her what should be 16 year old face. |
Natasha eyed the cards and then shifted her confused gaze on to the student's face. What in Merlin's name was she talking about? "Well, how lovely my dear, but I'm afraid your curfew doesn't permit you to go down to the lake tonight. Perhaps an early morning jaunt?" |
Bucky blinked and dropped the cards on the table. As she pushed herself up she whined and stretched out her right leg, hopping towards the hole on the floor dramatically. "My leg! I can't feel my leg! Oh Blay," she whined and found herself a bit too close to the edge of the open trapdoor. "Not even your tea can save me now!" In a last attempt to be dramatic she tried swooning, placing the back of one hand on her forehead and along with the leaning back of her head, Bucky found herself falling into the hole, feet first. As she landed below with the usual crash she called up to the tower. "I'm okay!" |
Natasha dashed to the trap door and peered down to check on the girl. She looked alright, was even moving around a bit and there were no limbs in odd angles. She turned back to the rest of the guests and thanked them for coming as they left the room. OOC: I have to leave in a few hours, so I'm going to close this thread now. Thanks everyone, and can't wait to see you all when I come back! |
