ooc: a lot of these may be Australian authors, but REALLY try to get them if you can! I think there may be a few too many to do a synopsis of each one! ... "Hi, I'm Jez. A There are 3 really great books ( that are by another Aussie author) that I feel I should share. They are called The Naming, The Riddle, and The Crow by Allison Croggon. They are about a really awesome girl called Maerad and her teacher Cadvan in bard training. They really deserve to be read by all! |
The name's Lexis. Hmm.....I love reading and I have a list of favorites, but its not that short of a list. Well, here goes. The Book Thief--> Markus Zusak Harry Potter series--> J.K. Rowling Chronicles of Narnia--> C.S. Lewis Demonata series--> Darren Shan His Dark Materials--> Philip Pullman The Charlie Bone series--> Jenny Nimmo Memoirs of a Bookbat--> Kathryn Lasky When Dad Killed Mom--> Julius Lester What Happened to Cass McBride--> Gail Giles Alex Rider series--> Anthony Horowitz The DaVinci Code--> Dan Brown The Inheritance series --> Christopher Paolini Inkheart and Inkspell--> Cornelia Funke The Series of Unfortunate Events--> Lemony Snicket 13 Little Blue Envelopes-->Maureen Johnson and probably a lot more that I have forgotten. That isn't a humongous list, but considering that most of them are actually series, then that would amount to a whole lot of books. |
Ginny looked around and desided to add a book(mor elike a series of 12) I cant believe any of the girls have mentioned htis, this is a totally girly series, The Mates and Dates series, theres twelve of them and their fab, its all about four best friends who go through school, and tonnes of problems together, each girl writes three books in the series its by kathy hopkins. Also a group of book ive read three i think, The original confessions of georgia nicolson, further confessions of georgia nickelson and further, further confessions of georgia nicolson by loise rennison. a totally girls book but boys might enjoy it, boy2girl; its about a boy who changes schools for a serious reson (i will let you find out) and he starts the year off as a girl to find out all their seacrets, and report them to the guys. A book im reading now is The Pact by Jodi Picoult. its about a boy who is being accused ofr murdering his gf, and it talk sabout their past, htough i think it would be for 13 and above cause the things they talk baout sometimes is a little gross and the language is not the best." ginny stoped and looked around, waitng for the next person to carry on. |
Jen decided to put in her favourite books. 'Well, I like the Eragon series and the Tricksters Choice series. I think these two books are really good and i'm hoping that the authors produce more of them. I also like the Great and Terrible Beauty series as well. And, of course, the Harry Potter series :)' |
Double post. Sorry. |
Hi, I'm Emily. There are a few books I'm recommending. Bless Me, Ultima: (by Rudolpho Anaya) Okay, this book would be best for people 16 or older. Not because of bad language (all the bad words are in Spanish), but because it takes a very mature mind to understand the central theme. This book made me really step back and consider thing like my previously held beliefs about religion. Also, fair warning, I suggest knowing Spanish or having a dictionary handy (Free Translation and Professional Translation Services from SDL International) The Devil Wears Prada: (by Laura Weisberger) The language is a bit, erm, colorful, but it is very good and entertaining. The Secret on Platform 13, Which Witch, and Dail-a-Ghost: I don't know who wrote these, but they're great. They can be enjoyed by people as young as 9 and as old as 19 (even older, but I just felt like throwing in the nines twice. =D). They're very similar to Harry Potter in the fact that they are fantastical. |
Hi, I'm Ambora, and I read quite a lot. I am engulfed in a series, Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. She has two other books, New Moon, and a new one, Eclipse. They're amazing! I have just finished another of my favorite series, the Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling. They were quite captivating. Vampire Kisses, by Ellen Schreiber, and The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith are also lovely too. Don't let the names fool you, you will literally fall in love with the vampires. |
Hi...I'm Diabolica and I have just recently read Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce--It's an amazing book, and I've just started the second book in the series, Wolf-Speaker. So far it is a really good series and I recommend it! |
