| | |  one hundred flowers for Ho-Sook's garden - Sa16+
 Hello all! I'm Chelle and this is 100 drabbles for my previous ministry character, Baek Ho-Sook or Sookie as she primarily goes by. I started playing Sook when she was already an adult and I wanted to do these snapshots into her past to connect further with her character and her voice. So thank you for peeking in and going on this journey with us!
For this challenge, I will be using the original SS 100 prompt list.
Disclaimer: While Sookie is an original character, the universe she lives in is not and was created by J.K. Rowling.
Currently completed: seven/one hundred 1. Herbology
“Appa, there is a plant that makes you breathe underwater!” Sookie’s feet swung back and forth as she sat on her father’s work table as he worked on a succulent arrangement for a customer. He was always happiest in his greenhouse, which was why Sook liked to spend time with him here, or in the sunshine.
He just smiled at his daughter, reaching a dirt covered hand to chuck under her chin, before grabbing a de-thorned rose and handing it to her. “That sounds magical. But don’t forget there’s beauty in normalcy too.”
It was much prettier than the gillyweed.  | |

Sookie was 13 years old when she got her first admirer. There was a boy who sat by her in EVERY class, and during meal times, and in the commons. He was cute and while she wasn’t interested in dating, she DID want to be his friend.
But every time she would try to talk to him, he’d turn red and flee. She’d wanted to ask him to be her partner in DADA one day, but when she opened her mouth to ask - he’d disappeared.
She turned to a new prospective partner. “I don’t think I’d like being a veela.”

The moment she turned 17 and was no longer affected by the Trace, her sister had a renewed interest in her company. They had had a fine relationship before, but there was so much more Sookie could do now that her magic was always accessible.
“Sook, can you change the color of this fabric for me? I want it blue.” Her sister entered the room, holding a yard of a brown fabric.
“Can’t you just.. Go buy a different fabric?” Her question was just met with puppy dog eyes.
With a sigh, Sook pulled out her wand. “Fine, you mooch.”

49. Yule Ball
If there was one moment of History that Sook liked to read over and over again, it was that of the Triwizard Tournament. But really only so she could glean every detail she could from texts about the Yule Ball. A fancy ball sounded down right delightful. Ever since she knew about it, she would fantasize for hours about what she would have worn - who would have asked her to dance - what the decor would have looked like.
So when her school held an actual dance, she'd been on cloud nine. No one was excited as she.

Feelings was she was adept at dealing with. Her sister had been better at it but as older sister, her role was comforter.
So when she was in her early 30's and received a call from her sister, hysterical with news, she didn't react emotionally. She said what had been needed to hear, she hugged when required, and she prepared for the funeral.
She ignored everything in her own heart.
And when her leave was over and she was at her desk approving new greenhouse plans, the water droplets staining the page as she signed away..
She ignored those too.

She'd been 8 when she first showed signs of magic.
She and her sister, and their dolls were supposed to be getting ready for a party. Sookie's had a dress picked out for her doll, her sister STOLE it.
The little girl had been SO angry. She'd jumped up and shouted how unfair it was when Dae knew she was going to play with it first. As the two little girls argued, suddenly Dae's doll burst into flames.
Dae spent the rest of the night crying. Sook spent the rest of the night wondering how she'd done that.

Teaching a group of 11 year olds about the love potion seemed odd. Maybe the best choice considering they were probably the most likely group to not use it. Or maybe the worst.
It wasn't Sookie's place to question. She remained quiet as her Professor began to speak, the potion remaining lidded. She leaned on her hand, eying the cauldron as words went in one ear and out the other.
When the pink contents were finally unveiled, Sook sat up, her eyes suddenly confused. "What if we don't smell anything?"
The man sighed, having just explained they probably wouldn't yet.
