Elijah Wright slowly entered the Death Chamber - one of his favorite rooms in the Department of Mysteries. He took in his surroundings, and immediatley noticed there were only two people around - a woman shaving a corpse's head and another woman behind a desk.

Walking past the barber, he smiled kindly - a rare feat for a man like him. "You're doing an excellent job. I'm very impressed that you're not disgusted."

Moving on, he glided over to the Division Head's side. She was scribbling on what appeared to be paperwork. Deciding at that moment that he was more important, he said, "Your division has gotten very far already. I must admit I'm pleased. However, you only have one employee working. Where are the others? Already off on a break?"

Victoria started slightly when Rhiannon spoke to her suddenly, almost cutting herself on the razor. Pleased, she smiled and said, "Thank you, I'll do my best on them."
She brushed a few strands of hair that were sticking to the razor and moved over to the next body: Igor Karkaroff. His hair looked a good deal thicker and more difficult to get through. Victoria had only just begun when someone else walked in and complimented her work. "Oh, thank you. It's not all that gross, really," she replied with a small smile of her own. That said, Victoria turned back to Igor and started her shaving again. He was much harder to rid of hair than Amelia was. She only hoped that Emmeline would be easier.

Rhiannon, head bent over her paperwork, did not bat an eye as her Department Head spoke to her. Her years as an Auror had trained her well and she had heard his approach all the way from the hallway. With a final flourish as she signed the last page, Rhiannon finally looked up and gave him her most pleasant smile.

"Yes. Everything is coming along nicely." Raising a delicately arched brow Rhiannon stood to her full height, her sleek black outfit making her look even taller. "Yes, Estelle has been working very hard cleaning the equipment, as has Kate. As you may or may not know, each individual piece must be cleaned with a specific cleaning potion. The majority of those potions are, shall we say, most unpleasant to use. Therfore, I would rather the girls take a break and return to finish their task correctly and well, than have them rush through and not do their task well all because they were becoming overcome with the fumes. Besides, they are doing an excellant job so they deserve a break."

Picking up the papers from her desk, Rhiannon made her way around her desk until she was standing just in front of Elijah. "Actually, I'm glad you stopped by. Saved me a trip to your office." Handing him the papers with another smile she went on to say,"These are the authorization papers, signed by the Minister, approving the extractions. I took them to him myself to speed up the process. So we should be ready to start much sooner than anticipated."

Placing her hands on her hips and flipping her long dark hair over her shoulder a bit sassily, Rhiannon waited for him to respond. Something about this man put her on edge.

A grin played across Elijah's lips as Rhiannon spoke. She was very strong and she'd automatically put a brick wall between them. For some odd reason, he liked that.

"I understand," he nodded cooly. "And, as your Department Head, I guarantee I know quite a lot about the potions used for cleaning the potions. I order them myself and test them before they even make it to your Division. As for the papers ..."

He shifted through them carefully. They were all there, signed by the Minister, giving the full go-ahead for the brain extractions. Elijah looked up at her and met her eyes. "Excellent work. I'd like it if you would please stop by my office later today."

With that said, he turned on his heel and strode out of the room, only pausing to give an apraising nod to the Barber lady.

Rhiannon narrowed her dark eyes at Elijah's back and let out a puff of air that lifted the hair off her forehead. She hadn't even realized she had been holding her breath until just now. Stop by his office indeed! She knew as well as him that there was really no need since he had all the necessary papers in hand.

Lifting her chin she said to herself a bit crankily,"Fine! I'll stop by your office Elijah Wright, but, be warned, it will be on my terms not yours!" Rhiannon had a great respect for authority, but, something in the way he had said for her to come by his office, raised her hackles.

Turning to sit behind her desk once more, her eyes caught sight of Victoria. Closing her eyes briefly in embarressment of her last words, she gave the girl a small smile and buried her head in a large,old looking tome on her desk.

This room is rather large and shaped as a rectangle. Lights shine dimly, but you can still see sunken stone pit in the center of the room, some twenty feet deep. Stone benches run all around the room and ascend in steep steps away from a raised stone dais in the center of the pit. An ancient, crumbling stone archway, unsupported by any surrounding wall, stands on this dais. This archway is hung with a tattered black curtain which flutters very slightly as though it had just been touched, although the air in the room stays still and cold.

Rhiannon entered the quiet room and let out a sigh. She quite liked the stillness of this room, it allowed her to think. Absently pushing her long, dark hair away from her face, she let her violet eyes take it all in. Moving forward, she proceeded to inspect the room.

Finding all as it should be, she found a suitable spot by the door and conjured an elegant, yet functional desk and a comfy chair. Sitting behind the desk she took out a variety of papers and set to work. She of course, was always efficient and she would make sure all was in order before meeting her work staff and Department Head.

Uwa Naoke liked to be punctual. She did her best to always show up on time. The fact that she was clumsy, however, liked to always get in the way of this fact. Bumping into someone on the lifts and spilling coffee was never fun.

And it was the reason she wasn't already here.

She rushed into the room, spotted her boss and bowed. "Go--I'm sorry for being late, boss-san!" she said. "There is no excuse and I promise to not be late again." She walked forward as she came out of her bow and inevitably tripped.

"Ehh!!!" she cried as she fell. "Ouch," she mumbled from the floor. She laughed nervously. "I'm a bit clumsy." She stood up quickly. "Uwa Naoke," she announced. "Reporting for duty." She bowed again.

Rhiannon had automatically looked up as one of her staff approached, a friendly smile forming on her lips. She was about to let the poor girl knowthat she was actualy the first to arrive, when she seemed to trip over nothing and fall before the desk.

"Oh, my dear, are you quite alright?" Rhiannon asked in concern as she rounded her desk just as the girl was standing back up. Her alert eyes, scanned the floor for anything that might have caused the girl to trip. Finding nothing, Rhiannon made a mental note to make sure that this girl remained a safe distance from the Veil st all times.

Naoke smiled up at her boss. "Ha-- yes, I'm fine," she said, quickly correcting herself. She would have a hard time not speaking in random Japanese, but she could manage.

"Aa, boss-san, is there anything you would like me to do? I'm very excited to be working here and promise to never speak of that which we cannot speak, which is everything of course, but I thought I should make that abundantly clear before you assigned me anything. Oh, and I was wondering-- do we meet with the other rooms to discuss what we've discovered, or are we not allowed to let the other Unspeakables know about what we do here? I know one of the doors is locked-- but none of the rest are. And-- oh! What is that?" Naoke said all this in a rush, before her eyes landed on the Veil.

"Is that what we're using in our studies?" she asked turning back to her boss.

Rhiannon blinked several times as the young girl rattled off a string of questions all in one breath. Taking just a moment to sort it all out, Rhiannon smiled down at Uwa.

"Well, your enthusiasm is much appreciated I must say. As far as discussing anything that occurs in this room, it would be best if you did not unless otherwise instructed." Glancing at the Veil, her face became quite serious and she said her next words clearly so as there would be no confusion,"Uwa, that is the Veil. A very mysterious and powerful gateway. You will most definately be learning more about it, but, under no circumstances must you or anyone else approach it in any way, understand?"

Naoke nodded. "Ha-- eh, yes! Yes, boss-san." She stared at the Veil, feeling an odd tugging in the pit of her stomach, as though she needed to go see it, investigate it... but she held back.

"Oh, and boss-san, you make call me Naoke if you wish." She bowed in respect to her superior.

"Is anyone else coming?" Naoke asked looking around at the vast, empty room.

Rhiannon's intense violet eyes remained alert as she studied the girl before her. Smiling, she gave a slight bow in respect and said,"As you wish. Naoke it is then. And yes, there will be two other employees joining us..." She glanced at her watch and went on to say,"...hopefully soon. However, in the mean time Naoke, I have a small asignment for you."

Rhiannon made her way back to her desk and shuffled through some papers, finding what she was looking for she said, "Ah, yes, what I need you to do for me Naoke is to take this manifest and cross reference it with the names on the vaults along the far right wall." She pointed to a long, dimly lit narrow space that seemed to go quite aways.

"I'm afraid that they might not be in the order that they are supposed to be so take care to mark those who are here and those who are not. We need to make sure our inventory is up to date and that the chamber is ready to be utilized at a moment's notice." Smiling an encouraging smile, she handed Naoke the rather long list of names. "There you go. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions."

Sitting back down behind her desk, Rhiannon went back to her paperwork.

Naoke nodded, somewhat excited and somewhat unsure.

"So, I take these manifests and....cross reference with the names. So, the names on the vaults, should be the names on the manifests, right? Um..." Naoke scratched her head a bit in confusion. She honestly didn't get what she was supposed to be doing.

ooc: How do you want me to do this, boss lady? Just make stuff up or...? I'm not sure what I'm cross referencing.

Just post your charry checking the names on the vaults and crossing them off the list as you find them. Have her take note of what vault each name is on and where its located. And add anything you like as far details of the vaults and such. Just make sure your charry does not go near the veil. There are plans for that later....

Rhiannon looked up from her paperwork with an encouraging smile."Naoke, you just answered your own question. Yes, make sure that the vaultscontain the names on the manifest, mark their locations, and note any descrepincies. Okay?"

Naoke blushed. "H-hai-- I mean, yes, boss-san."

She quickly moved to the back of the chamber where the vaults were located and opened the manifests and began her work, searching out the names and matching them with those on the vaults. It wasn't easy work and after fifteen minutes she was beginning to get bored, but she carried on and hoped that she'd be done within the hour.

She pondered where the other two employees were as she worked. What if no one else showed up?

Tamariah Kisiri entered the Death Chamber for her first day of duty. Moving sillently and quickly, the tall Nigerian woman with shocking violet eyes looked around for her supervisor. She walked up to Rhiannon's desk, her face serious.

Due to her years of training as an Auror, Rhiannon had heard the approach of her next employee from down the hall. As the woman approached her desk, Rhiannon looked up with a ready smile. Having already perused the files of all the employees assigned to her division, she quickly identified her asTamariah Kisiri. However, she would let her introduce herself to be sure.

Rhiannon was struck by the woman's eyes, which were an intense violet much like her own. Standing up, she nodded in greeting as she said in a clear ,strong voice, "Hello."

Naoke was just finishing up with crossing checking the manifests and vaults when she heard someone else enter.

She turned around and spotted another woman enter. She smiled. Finally, there was someone else. Not that she would have minded at all if it were just her and the head of the division.

Finishing her work with a flourish, she hurried up to her boss' desk, where the newcomer still stood.

"Boss-san, I finished," she said, handing the work over. She bowed, then turned her attention to the new arrival and smiled. "Hello, I'm Naoke. Uwa Naoke, it's nice to meet you."

After the introduction, Rhiannon waited patiently for the two to exchange pleasantries before she assigned some more duties.

Uwa Naoke was a very kind person. She generally never thought negatively of others and she hardly argued.

But when she did, she had very good reason and she always won. Her first impression of her co-worker was startlingly negative.

With a raised eyebrow, she turned to look at her boss, her smile gone, replaced by a grim line. Back home in Japan, such insolence would have been delt with accordingly; when she'd lived in England during her two years of private tutoring, she had lived with someone from Japan who stuck to tradition; living here now, she had no idea how the situation would be handled, but felt it would be important she not witness it, since it had nothing to do with her.

"Is there anything else you need me to do, boss-san?" she asked curtly. Uwa Naoke was never curt. If you knew her well, you would do a double take or something equally as dramatic.

Katelyn entered the room almost out of breath. She brushed her hair out of her face before focusing on where she was. Katelyn looked around and noticed the Division head with a few of her co-workers. She walked over and quietly said "Hello... I'm Katelyn Zeta". She hoped she wasn't interupting something important or someone's conversation. She hated when she did that.

Tamariah turned her head slightly to see the woman enter, obviously rushing and with her hair slightly dishelved. She observed as the woman attempted to fix her hair and introduced herself. She fixed her with a cool stare for a moment before dismissing her. Her face bearing the slightest hint of a sneer, she addressed her supervisor in her clipped, foreign accent. "As you were saying... this Division needs to improve its standards."
