"Who said I was good?"Miley said. She raised her eyebrow. |
"Well, for me, you could be as bad as me, but according to mum, dad, our brothers, and the entire school when we went, you was the good twin while I was the evil twin." Alex said simply, picking the lint from her light blue robes. |
"And we are going to keep it that way.Mum and dad can never know,"Miley said. |
"Oh I see, have to make Cassie look like the evil twin while Miles can strut around being the angel, even if she isn't the angel they think she is. I see how it is." Cassie said, folding her arms and pretending to be mad. |
"That's excatly how it's going to be,"Miley said. |
Alex looked at Miles, shocked. "You want your own sister to be known as the bad twin?" |
"Yup,"Miley said. |
"I love you too sis." Cassie said looking at her watch and noticed she had five minutes before heading off to work. She let out a sigh and stood up and straightened out her robes. "Then again I guess I deserve it after everything I put you through while growing up." She smiled. "I should get off to work, maybe later we should meet up at the Raven's Claw or in the Park?" |
James turned and faced her when she suddenly stopped laughing. she was biting her lip again which was something he had by now come to realize meant she was nervous. " I ride often yes, daily. for several years now actually it's just more convenient getting to work by other methods you know. would that classify me as experienced enough?" he gave her a reassuring smile as they neared the exit. |
Miley stood up,"Okay.Talk to you soon,sis." |

"Okay,"Miley said. She sat back down and watched her isister leave. She pulled out Hogwarts,A History and began to read. |
Edward leaves the security desk. He stops for a moment to put his new security badge on. Edward looks at the directory to find out what floor the Department of Magical Law Enforcement is. The second floor same as always. He heads over to the lifts. They are as slow as they were the last time he was here. |
Richard walked the length of the atrium to stretch his legs. He stopped next to one of the floo grates. He noticed the mantlepiece was sticking up slightly at the end. He leaned on it to straighten it. It sprang back up when he caame off it. He pulled his wand out and the board slowly bent back in to a straight highly polished plank. He moved on and removed a button from the statue pool. |
Miley saw Richard walk by and muttered to herself,"neat freak."She smiled and looked back down at her book. |
Richard noticed Miley glance at him she was walking past. He looked at her briefly as she looked away. He shrugged and carried on. If he was something that annoyed her she wouldnt be the first. How many people had he encountered that had rolled their eyes at what he said or not believed what he told them wether they were magical or muggle. |
Edward glanced at the Atrium to see if Si had made her way there yet. He checked his watch and wondered if she would show up. |

She looked at him, she found nothing funny about him. His cologne was making her lightheaded and giddy, and that made her giggle again. "I forgot what we were laughing at." She didn't want to admit that her sisters had been teasing her about blushing over Nathan when he smiled at her. She was taken aback at his offer of a book. Education in Africa was highly regarded and many risked their lives just to learn and giving someone a book was akin to offering them the world. She did not know how to respond. "Thank you so much." She breathed. Stepped into the red box and Nathan followed her, instantly the box become warm from their body heat. And for a moment they were face to face, and Egypt could feel her breasts pressed up against his chest. Her heart skipped a beat and feel into sync with his for just a second and then she backed up against the glass. He was looking at her like and she felt naked under his gaze. She was happy it took him some effort to tear his eyes away from hers. She almost melted when he called her love, but she pulled herself together and tried to act like he wasn't getting to her, she didn't know how well she was doing. She nearly fainted when the box started to move, but she held herself firm and waited for the box to stop moving. The door opened into the Atrium, and she stepped out of the red box. "Yes, I am fine, thank you." She told him glancing around, she had never come that way into the Ministry and it felt like a pleasant ride that she may take again just for the fun of it. She saw him smile at her, and she could stand there forever with that smile. She tried to shake her head clear of all the feelings that were flowing through her body and she walked over to him and smiled. |
Nathan was relieved to exit the claustrophobic confines of the telephone box and enter the cool, oxygen filled atrium. The air in the telephone box and become strangely thin and hot and he seemed to momentarily forget how to breathe properly. His heart had returned to it’s regular pace as he had turned and smiled at Egypt. “Good.” he replied, trying to sound calm and collected. “Can be a bit of a bumpy ride at times.” Egypt seemed taken aback when he had offered her that book – it was nothing to him. He barely looked at it these days and it was old and dog eared from being very well thumbed by Nathan. “I’ll bring that book into work for you. It’s very useful. Was a life saver to me when I started to visit the muggle world on a regular basis.” He could remember the feeling of utter uselessness and stupidity he had experienced back then like it was yesterday. At least this book would ease this a bit for Egypt. Plus, it was a very good excuse to see her again. “Send me an owl when you know what department you’ll be working for and I’ll drop it off.” He glanced casually at the bustle in the atrium and looked at his watch – he was unbelievably late now, but didn’t let either of these things affect his usual outwardly laid back demeanour – often inside, however, this was a completely different story. “Care to take a stroll to the cafeteria?” he asked her. “Or will your sisters worry you’ve been gone too long?” Nathan really needed a strong coffee before he headed back to the office. Plus, he was so late now that another twenty minutes couldn’t hurt – if you’re going to be late, you may as well be late in style. |
Egypt saw him looking at his watch, she knew she was keeping him from something important. "Oh Nathan you have been more than generous with your time, please don't let me hold you up any longer." She told him, she would die if she got him into trouble. She would have spent the entire day with him, who cared about her sisters they were always there. She was losing her senses and he was doing it. This was not like her, and she felt that she was making a fool out of herself. He clearly was just humoring her and trying to be nice and show her around and introduce her to some muggle contraptions. "I don't want to get you into trouble honestly," She said trying smile and to keep the hurt look off her face at him really having to leave. |
Nathan was a little taken aback by her response. For some reason he had the impression that she had been flirting with him earlier. Was the tension in the air in the telephone box all in his head? He nodded reluctantly, not wanting to keep her from her sisters if that’s where she wanted to be. Maybe it was the muggle stuff that had frightened her off. Or, that damn engagement band. Or maybe he had it all wrong in the first place. Maybe, maybe, maybe.... “Alright, love.” he replied with a nod. “Send me an owl and I’ll arrange to get that book sent to you.” Or deliver it personally. “You haven’t caused me any trouble.” he said kindly - she didn't need to know how late he was back to work. “I hope you hear about that job soon.” Because he wanted to see her again. He nodded politely at her. “You can get out via the phone box, or one of these fireplaces here if you feel more comfortable.” He gestured towards the familiar green glow of the fireplaces on the floo network. “Say ‘hi’ to your sisters for me.” He winked at her before turning and making his way towards the lifts, feeling rather dejected. |
There it was again... he called her love.. she wondered if it would sound different if he really meant that word. "I can send you an owl once I get settled." she offered. She wanted to run after him again, but she didn't want to appear desperate, or that she didn't have any manners. What was wrong with her, she never ever got like that with a guy before. She never even had a boyfriend, and here she was wishing for him to stay. Mentally she willed him not to go, she wanted to tell him that she had been kidding. She watched him walk to the lifts, she wondered if he was feeling the same way she was, but he wasn't he never looked back, he didn't hesitate. She didn't know how long she stood there watching him, but she finally willed her feet to move toward the fireplaces. |
