Dana sat down beside Jake and Libby. Jake on her right. Libby on her left. Professor Flitwick popped up from behind his desk and stood on the book that were on his chair so he could see over his desk and see his students. Flitwick was very short and looked fairly old. Dana wondered how old he really was. Jake must’ve been thinking the same thing because he passed her a note.

How old do you think he really is?
I don’t know. He taught my parents and I think my grandparents so probably old.
Wow! I don’t know how long. I’m muggle born so how would I know anyway? Oh, I like you’re green ink.
Thanks! My mom bought me the ink beofore school started. I like it to. You didn’t tell me you were muggle born. I thought you were a pure blood.
Nope I’m muggle born. Do you mind?
No not at all. Why should I? That’s racist.
OK then. I don’t know why you would. Just checking. We should pay attention now.

Dana folded the note and put it in her pocket. Professor Flitwick was passing out white feather to everyone. Once everyone had a feather Professor Flitwick stood on top of his pile of books and took out his wand.
“Now class, today we are going to learn how to make objects fly,” Professor Flitwick said to the class. Dana looked over at Jake. He looked back.
“Cool! Flying stuff!” he whispered happily. Dana nodded and looked around. Along with the first year Gryffindors, were the first year Slytherins. Dana saw Maggie Malfoy. The girl she had seen at Diagon Alley. Her silver blonde hair had been neatly curled. In Dana’s opinion she was trying to make herself look better and show off.
“The incantation in Wingardium Leviosa,” Professor Flitwick said showing the correct wand movements, “remember, swish and flick.”
Dana picked up her wand and gripped it the way her mother had taught her. Jake and Libby did the same. Charlie, Megha, Riley, and Will (who were across the room) did the same.
“Wingardium Leviosa,” Dana commanded. Nothing happened.
“Wingardium Leviosa,” Libby tried. Like Dana, her command did nothing.
“Wingardium Leviosa!” Jake said strongly and the feather slowly rose with the movement of his wand. Dana stared at him.
“How’d you do that?” Dana asked shocked.
“Be confident,” Jake explained.
“Oh,” Dana replied trying the spell again with confidence. This time her feather drifted into the air.
“Very good! These two Gryffindors have done it! Well done! 10 point to Gryffindor!” Proffesor Flitwick rewarded. Jake and Dana high-fived while Maggie looked furious. Charlie and Megha smiled at them. Will tapped his foot and poked the feather with his wand.
“Stupid thing,” Dana heard Will say to his feather. Libby had finally managed to get her feather a few inches into the air before it dropped again. Dana giggled and Jake stared at her…but in a good way. Dana’s met his and he blushed. Dana smiled wondering what was running through his head right now. Across the room Charlie and Will were arguing.
“No! You’re just saying it wrong!” Charlie said fiercly.
“No I’m not! You’re telling me wrong. It’s ‘leviosa’!” Will argued.
“Well you’re movement is wrong! It’s swish and flick! Not flick and swish!” Charlie argued back.
“Hey Jake. Things aren’t looking good over with Charlie and Will,” Dana pointed out.
“You’re right. Let’s just hope they work things out,” Jake said gazing at Will and Charlie. Their fight continued all through Charms while Maggie looked at them with pleasure. Megha and Riley were in their own private conversation and looking at Will and Charlie with a look of worry on their faces. When class let out Dana and Jake disappeared up to the common room before they had to report to Transfiguration in fifteen minutes that Dana was dreading. She didn’t want to face her mum yet. Dana told the Fat Lady the password and sat down in a chair opposite Jake.
“Hey Dana?” Jake said getting Dana’s attention.
“Yeah?” Dana replied.
“Do you…well…do you like…wanna go out with me?” Jake muttered quietly. Dana smiled and leaned over to him and kissed him quickly.
“I’ll take that as a ‘yes’,” Jake said grinning. Dana smiled.
“You should,” Dana said. Charlie came bursting into the common room tears streaming down her cheeks very quickly. Her mascara had left black streaks on her cheeks.
“Charlie?! What’s wrong?!” Dana and Jake asked together with concern.
“Will,” Charlie choaked.


k more l8er. gotta get things done and gotta do it quickly. Luv ya! ha u thought "K-I-S-S-I-N-G" was funny? lol. OK as long as u think it's funny. =P

“What did Will do?” Jake asked. Dana walked over to Charlie and put her arm around her friend.
“He was yelling at me like I was some person he hated. Then he told me that he hated the way I was so bossy and that I was a brat. Then I screamed at him and told him it was over,” Charlie sobbed. Dana hugged her.
“It’s okay Char. He’s not that important anyway. If he told you that you were bossy and a brat he’s not the guy for you,” Dana said comforting Charlie. Charlie wiped her eyes and her mascara smeared even more. Dana saw Jake try not to laugh at that. She gave him her “evil eye”.
“I guess you’re right Dana,” Charlie confessed.
“I know I’m right. He’s just a jerk. Now let’s go fix your mascara,” Dana said walking up to the girls dorm.
“Yeah it probably look horrible,” Charlie said following Dana.
“Yeah it does,” Jake said.
“Jake!” Dana said warning him.
“It’s not that bad though,” Jake added quickly. Dana and Charlie laughed and disappeared to their dorm. Charlie grabbed her make-up bag and walked into the bathroom followed by Dana. Charlie looked at her mascara streaks and screamed. Dana jumped.
“I didn’t expect it to be that bad!” Charlie wailed.
“It’s not. A few touch-ups and you’ll look flawless again,” Dana said grabbing a tissue for Charlie. She smiled.
“Thanks Dana! You really know how to cheer up a friend,” Charlie said smiling. She took the tissue from Dana and wiped the black streaks off her face. She reapplied mascara and then walked out of the bathroom. Dana and Charlie walked out of the girls’ dorm and met Jake in the common room.
“Let’s go to class now,” Jake suggested.
“Yeah we should get going,” Charlie agreed. The three of them walked down to Transfiguration. They entered the classroom and found seats by Riley, Libby, and Megha. Dana sat by Jake of course. When Will came into the classroom Charlie buried her face into her book. Dana felt bad for her. She obviously really liked Will and now Dana was happy with Jake. Life couldn’t be less fair for poor Charlie. When Professor Weasley entered the classroom Dana wanted to disappear. Transfiguration was already her least favorite subject and she hadn’t even taken a class yet. She passed a note to Jake.

Jake tried to give her a pity look but he just laughed. Dana rolled her eyes and slumped down into her chair.
“Now class. My name is Professor Weasley. You can call me Professor of Professor Weasley. Now I know one of you might be tempted to call me mum, but please try not to,” Professor Weasley said eyeing Dana. She felt her cheeks get warmer.
“Today we will try to change straight pins into buttons. Dana will you please pass out the pins?” Professor Weasley asked. Dana really didn’t want to, but she knew not to argue with her mother. Dana got up and took the bag of pins her mum handed her. Jake’s hand shot into the air.
“Yes Mr. MacNamara?” Professor Weasley said.
“Well, I was just wondering when we were going to Beauxbatons for the Triwizard Tournament that McGonagall mentioned last night,” Jake said.
“We will be heading there in October. Next month,” Professor Weasley said. Jake nodded and Dana finished passing out the pins. Class dragged on slowly. It was so slow Dana wondered if time had stopped and she would be stuck in her mother’s class forever. When Professor Weasley finally let out the class Dana was excited and suddenly full of energy. If only she didn’t have to go on to Potions, but according to her mother Professor Hart was loads of fun. Dana was glad she could go with her friends. She walked with Charlie, Megha, Riley, and Libby. Jake had decided to go with Damon, Will, and some of his other friends to class.
“Transfiguration was fun!” Riley said.
“Easy for you to say,” Dana said hugging her Potions book to her chest.
“Loosen up Dana! Your mum’s not bad at all!” Megha insisted. Dana rolled her eyes.
“Easy for you to say,” Dana repeated. Her friends giggled and shook their heads.
“Oh Dana! What are we going to do with you?” Riley asked. Dana shrugged and felt a tap on her shoulder. She whipped around to see two identical girls standing behind her. They both had long black hair, like Megha’s, but these girls weren’t Asian.
“I’m Violet and this is my twin Halie. Sorry to bother you, but it sounded like you were having fun. Do you mind of we join your conversation?” Violet asked.
“Not at all. I’m Dana. Nice to meet you,” she said smiling.
“Oh, and be sure you say my name Halie not Haley. I hate it when people confuse my name,” Violet’s twin said. Dana smiled and by now her friends were facing Violet and Halie with smiles.
“We won’t,” Dana said gesturing to Charlie, Megha, Libby, and Riley. They introduced themselves and then the 7 of them walked together to Potions, curious about Professor Hart and what he’d be like.

Dana slumped onto her bed. She looked at her homework and sighed. Why they had to have homework on the first day made no sense. Megha and Riley were in the dorm with her. The common room had gotten to noisy and with all the seventh years having social hour (and snogging hour) Dana, Megha, and Riley had given up and went up to the girls’ dorm.
“Do either of you know what the answer to number 4 in Potions is?” Megha asked chewing on the end of her Sugar Quill.
“Yeah, it’s The Drought Of Living Dead,” Riley answered.
“Thanks,” Megha said scribbling the answer onto her paper. Charlie came into the room looking like a zombie and staring at something in her hand.
“What’s that Charlie?” Dana asked.
“A CD. Will gave it to me and told me to listen to this one song,” Charlie said looking up from the CD in her hand.
“Listen to it then,” Riley said.
“I don’t want to right now,” Charlie said and she threw it down onto her bed. She walked over to Megha’s bed and sat down beside her.
“Why not?” Megha asked.
“Don’t feel like it,” Charlie replied gazing at Megha’s homework.
“Okay then. I would listen to it if I were you,” Dana suggested.
“I will later. Megha, number 2 is wrong,” Charlie corrected. Megha sighed and scribbled out her answer and flipped through her Potions book.
“This is a real pain in the butt,” Megha said writing down the correct answer.
“You’re telling me!” Dana said slamming down her quill. She buried her face in her books and wished that it would disappear.
“Want help?” Charlie asked.
“Please!” Dana said looking up happily. Charlie walked over to her and started pointing out the answers in the books. While Charlie was looking through the pages looking for an answer Dana looked up and saw Riley putting Will’s CD into Charlie’s player. The music began and Charlie jumped. She opened her mouth to protest.
“Just listen to it!” Riley said. Charlie closed her mouth and leaned back into the pillows on the bed.

“Charlie, there was a note from Will in the case,” Riley said softly handing a small piece of paper to Charlie.

*sigh* Homework, homework, homework. Aww, poor Charlie. A NOTE! I'm excited. PAMS!!

this is gonna b short, but i'm really not in the mood 2 post, but i'm making myself. so consider yourselves lucky

Charlie took the note and slowly opened it. She read it and fresh tears rolled down her cheeks. She threw the note onto her bed and ran down into the common room. Riley picked up the note and scanned it. Her mouth fell open.
“Read it out loud!” Megha pleaded.
“Okay. It says, ‘Charlie, I know what I did was wrong. I feel really bad for it. You’re not a brat and you’re not bossy. You’re exactly the opposite. I’ve never met a girl like you Charlie. You’re amazing. Please forgive me. I want you back. I made a mistake. People can make mistakes right? If you forgive me meet me in the common room and 8. Please forgive me Charlie. You’re my miracle that came true. Will’ Isn’t that sweet?” Riley said.
“Aww. That’s so sweet,” Dana said smiling.
“What time is it?” Megha asked.
“Exactly 8 on the dot,” Riley said. Megha smiled and ran down to the common room. Dana and Riley followed close behind. Charlie was sitting on the couch with Will. Her head was on his shoulder and he was stroking her hair.
“Boys aren’t normally this nice at our age. Or that mature,” Megha said staring with wide-eyes.
“He feels bad for what he did. Plus Will’s just a nice guy,” Dana said.
“Well, let’s leave them alone,” Riley said. She motioned for Libby, Violet, and Halie who were also staring at Will and Charlie. They came in some sort of shock and stumbled up the stairs to the girls’ dorm.
“What happened? First they were all mad now they’re snuggling on the couch,” Libby said wondering what was going on in her friend’s love affairs.
“I didn’t even know they were together,” Halie said blushing. Dana giggled.
“Well, Will gave Charlie a song and a note and they made up. I guess. It appears that way,” Megha said sitting down on her bed.
“Oh, well that’s sweet to give her a song,” Violet said sitting down on her bed and hugging a pillow.
“Yeah. You should’ve seen Charlie. It made her cry,” Riley said sitting down smack dab in the middle of the floor.
“Poor thing,” Libby said.
“Yeah, but everything’s okay now,” Dana said sitting beside Megha. Halie and Libby, realizing they are the only ones still standing sat on the floor just as Charlie came in and threw herself onto her bed.
“Maybe guys aren’t so bad after all,” Charlie said dreamily.
“They’re not as bad as some people think. Just…different sometimes,” Dana said.
“Oh! Dana! Jake asked me to give this to you,” Charlie said tossing a piece of folded paper across the room. Dana caught it and slowly opened wondering if she should be afraid of what was inside.

Dana slowly opened the note and smiled at what it said.

Dearest Dana,
Meet me down by the lake under the biggest tree tomorrow night. I miss you and need to spend time with you. I know you’ve only been my girlfriend for about two days now, but I really want to know you well. I want to know your favorite color, food, and everything. I want to know your personality as well as I know that you are pretty, kind, and loving. I care for you Dani.

“Read it!” Riley said. Dana shook her head and placed the note under her pillow. She then got her pajamas out of her trunk and took them to the bathroom along with the note that she grabbed before any of her friends could read it while she was changing. Dana returned still smiling and put the note back under her pillow. She flipped back her sheets and slid under them. Charlie stared at her pillow.
“Please tell us what it says Dana,” Charlie begged.
“No!” Dana replied.
“Why not?” Megha asked.
“It’s personal,” Dana replied and leaned back into her pillows.
“Can we read it later?” Halie asked.
“Maybe, but right now, I’m going to bed. Night all!” Dana said and closed her eyes.
“Good idea,” Violet agreed.
“Night!” Everyone echoed.
