Welcome to Term 70 RPG Challenges!

This term, we're drawing a little extra magic from the number 7 — a number woven deeply into the Harry Potter universe and perfect for celebrating SnitchSeeker’s 70th Term of the Hogwarts RPG! From 7 years at Hogwarts to 7 players on a Quidditch team, 7 Horcruxes, and more, the number 7 has always held a special significance in the wizarding world.

In that spirit, you’ll find a series of creative RPG challenges waiting for you — all inspired by the magical and mysterious possibilities of "7." Just as there were 7 challenges guarding the Philosopher’s Stone, you have the chance to choose 7 prompts from the list to complete at your own pace over the course of Term 70. Whether you take on a little extra adventure — or a lot — you’ll help spark new stories and connections all around the castle. Rumor has it there just might be a small reward waiting for those who complete all 7 by the end of term

You may complete these challenges using any of your Hogwarts RPG characters, in any thread where Hogwarts RPG characters are allowed to post during Term 70. The challenges do not all need to be completed by the same character, so spread the creative love however you fancy!

A quick reminder: all SnitchSeeker rules still apply during these challenges. None of the prompts are designed with the intention of getting your characters into trouble (detention, point loss, and so on), but IC actions can still have IC consequences — so if your character breaks the rules, be prepared for them to face potential repercussions ― the Forbidden Forest is forbidden for a reason!

Challenge Prompts:

1. Use "If idiocy were a planet, you’d still be orbiting Uranus." in a post
2. Have your character volunteer (or get stuck) cleaning out Greenhouse 7 and stumble upon something unusual—like a journal, a cursed trowel, an extra peppy basket of puffpods, etc.
3. Have 7 things go wrong in a row—make your character’s day comically cursed.
4. Have 7 pieces of your character’s clothing be shrunk in one of the Muggle washing machines
5. Solve this Bronze Knocker riddle and use the answer in a post:
   I come in colors, bold and bright
   After storms, I’m quite the sight.
   Count me closely, end to end—
   Seven hues that twist and bend.
   What am I?
6. Have your character write a note to a friend or classroom notes in invisible ink
7. Have your character mess up (or almost mess up) brewing a potion because they forgot/misread the 7th step.
8. Have your character duel someone and you both can only use spells that have 7 letters.
9. Have your character interact with a creature they are a little uncomfy with for 7 minutes
10. Have your character complete 7 Acts of Care — for themselves, for others, or for the world around them.
11. Have your character Conjure, Switch, or otherwise change the color of 7 different items. Bonus if you DON'T use Colovaria.
12. Have 7 sentences in your post begin with the letter G
13. Have your character seek advice from 7 different voices (teachers, classmates, magical creatures, plants, ghosts, etc.)
14. Have your character mention any of the following creature combinations in a post (a. unicorn & salamander b. graphorn & quintaped c. runespoor & fwooper)
15. Have your character mention trekking 7 staircases to get somewhere
16. Have your character experience 7 “lucky” things (find a galleon, get away with sneaking into the kitchens, etc.) — Felix Felicis-fy your character's day!
17. Have your character check out/study from 7 books from the library that represent each of the 7 subjects taught at Hogwarts
18. Use "Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who deserve it." in a post.
19. Use "Always." in a post (must be used as a single sentence and not a part of a sentence)
20. Write a post in which every sentence contains a word that is 7 letters long.
21. Write a post that consists of precisely 7 sentences. No more, no less.
