The Vow If you are present here today at the (Muggle) Dorchester Hotel you are here for a very special occasion: the wedding of F. Wesley Logan Ferguson and Isobel Maria Montague. The date is the eighteenth of December 2077. As the season is winter, the hotel grounds are lined with pretty snow, so hopefully you have dressed appropriately. Luckily, the wedding is happening inside the hotel, meaning the guests won’t get too cold.

Wesley shifted from shiny foot to shiny foot as he waited for the wedding to begin. Was it his imagination or were his toes feeling frosty all of a sudden? He must have just been imagining that, but as more and more people trickled into the hotel, he found himself wishing now more than ever that this ceremony could just be him and Izzy. And maybe his friends....all...handful of 'em. He glanced over at his best man and took a breath. "All right there, mate?" |
ooc, see link in Roro's post. Yup. Grunt. "Me? I'm fine." Van eyed Wes for a moment and then reached beneath his jacket, pulling out a small flask and offering it to the man. A bit of courage, see? He was taking his Best man duties seriously. "It'll be over with before you know it, then it'll be just you and Iz, forever." |
Damien shifted slightly in his seat and tugged at the end of his already loose tie. Why the HELL had he let Gem convince him that a tie was necessary? HMMMM? Well because he loved her and she was right... but that is beside the point. Bah. Grasping Gem's hand he smiled over at her and winked as he shifted his attention back to Wes and Van. WES. The poor guy. Sighs. Heh. Van was there for him when he was married... which brought another smile from the perpetually grumpy old man. "Glad we eloped," he whispered against her temple as he kissed her gently. Heh. |
ooc to Tegz ooc (last one i swear): IF THE LINK WORKS <_< Quote:
He nodded and passed it back to his friend. "Yeah. I...I knew that." That was why he'd asked her, right? Forever was.............a long, long time. |
Simon had to admit, while he knew the wedding of Wes and Izzy had been upcoming, he hadn't had any idea he would in fact be invited. There just wasn't the sort of connection others in the department had with them in his own. However low and behold, there had been an invite to the event at the flat and it certainly wasn't Sabel's seeing as he had moved out after Anya's graduation. He came guest-less seeing as bringing his girlfriend to an MLE-infested function kinda defeated the purpose of keeping their relationship under wraps from said MLEr's. Taking a seat on the bride's side seeing as he did indeed feel more connection to the woman formerly his boss, the YATI settled in as he and the rest of the guests sat ready for the wedding to begin. His gaze wandering up to the men at the altar before settling absently on the room as a whole. |
Sigh. Lilyan simply adored weddings. Was there anything better than watching two people in love? Hmm. Well, perhaps there was, but at the moment, it was the only thing that mattered. However, she so was not going to cry. Nope. In fact, she had a happy grin on her lips as she glanced around and caught Van handing over something shiny to Wes. Tsk. Saw that, Bole. She wiggled her fingers at him in a wave, not a scold, and glanced over the others approvingly. They all looked so Quote:
Though there was certainly nothing wrong with planned weddings and all. Lily and Van's wedding had been lovely and this one was certainly turning out to be so as well. Plans just weren't for Damien and Gemini. Nah. "He looks nervous." She observed, glancing at the groom with her light eyes. She was definitely feeling some sort of nerves from someone close by. But who wouldn't feel nervous about something like this? |
Damien let his eyes wander and HUZZAH!!! The lovely Lilyan BOLE. She was a sight for sore eyes, she was. The man waited to catch her eyes so he could make kissy faces at her. Heh. Turning his attention back to wifey he snorted slightly. She was really his perfect match. Giving her hand a gentle squeeze he followed her worried eyes up to the altar. "Petrified. If he vomits, I'm out of here. I get enough of that at home," Damien said in all seriousness. No more puke. No MORE. |
"Fooooorrreeeeever." Van waved his fingers all spooky-like in Wes's face. ... okay that was probably less helpful, but it was funny, dammit. He took the flask back and slipped it into his inside jacket pocket again, then shifted slightly, leaning against his cane as his eyes immediately went to his own wife. Still speaking to Wes he added softly, "Trust me. You won't regret it." N'aww the big lug. Lily DID make him a softy though, and everyone knew it. He had no regrets. Spotting the D-man and Gem, Van grinned. The gang's all here. Well. Collectively on their way at least. |
anyone . . . *whistles* It took a long while after receiving the invite that Alexandria even was going to go. She didn't know anyone. She definitely didn't know the groom. And she'd only been working for Isobel for just a few short weeks; so the last thing she expected to receive was an invitation to her boss's wedding. But in the end she decided to go because it would be good to get out. Not to mention if she DIDN'T attend, then she shuttered to think of how that would look during work. Isobel might make her do all the 'dirty work'. Or something. Inter-office politics. Upon entering the Dorchester Hotel, Alexandria smiled nervously at the other guests. No one she knew yet. And definitely no one from her department, yet. This was a mistake, she thought vigorously, as she took a seat near the back. At least she was dressed appropriately . . . ? |
Mystery Newbies have to stick together to Boss's wedding Quote:
He looks around and sees a face he does know. Its Alexandria from the Department and she was new like him. He walks over to her and sits down next to her. "Hey Alexandria. Can you believe we both got invitations and we have only been working for Isobel a few short weeks?." |

"Demetrius," Lex greeted politely. "No, I can't believe it and it feels a bit odd being here, to be honest. But I figured I should probably meet people." Cause like the last time she went out for an evening, was when she was living on a different continent. |
Well here he was. Chris Potter hadn't expected an invitation to the Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement's wedding to his bride and newly promoted Head of Mystries, according to the Daily Prophet. He had thought about attending and finally decided it would be good to make friends with the couple since he hoped his Law office for Magical Beasts and Beings would get the proper footing it needed. Friends in high places always helped. Ushering his 'date' and long time friend Reese Upstead-Fritzera, Chris made his way to a pew in the middle of the room. Even though he was dressed up for this, he would much rather be in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt travelling abroad studying creatures again. |
Again, see Roro's link. xD Clearing his throat, Gabe fiddled slightly with his bow tie. He had no idea why, but he felt a little nervous. This was the first wedding he'd attended since he got divorced himself - never mind actually took part in. And he really didn't want to let Wes down. Thankfully everything was going smooth so far. He's shown a couple of people to their seats before joining Wes, Van and Jax at the front. Looking across to the groom he couldn't help but grin. He certainly look nervous, but it seemed Van was doing a good job of calming him down. With whatever was in that flask. Gabe's eyes wandered further around the room, trying to spot Fliss in the crowd of guests. She was going to get SO MANY ideas from today. It had him worried. |
[[In the suite with the bridesmaids hehe]] Isobel was feeling nervous. Like really nervous. Part of her knew she shouldn't have been though. She knew exactly what was going to be happening, right down to everything. Iz just figured that maybe Wes might have changed his mind. They hadn't exactly been dating long, not even two years. But she was sure he would be here. He wouldn't have proposed if he hadn't wanted to marry her right? Another problem that she had was her dress. Maybe she should have gone for something a little more practical. But then she had fallen in love with the dress as soon as she had seen it. The blonde smiled to herself, and turned to look at her sister. "Do I look okay?" In the reflection of the mirror she had thought she'd looked okay, but just wanted Tasha's opinion. |

Shifting her position on the couch with care not to wrinkle her dress too much Tasha commanded as she looked up at her sister. "Stop worrying Iz. You love Wesley and he loves you." She knew her sister too well. The constant question of wether she looked good was just a way of masking her nervousness about the whole thing. |

"You look horrible, as usual, Isobel." Althea of course didn't have a hair out of place herself, and really, Isobel looked perfect, every bit the ideal bride, but she was being ridiculous. There was no chance that the man would change his mind now, not unless he fancied the idea of being drawn and quartered and Althea could think of at least three people off hand who would willingly do exactly that, and likely there were more. |

Isobel laughed, turning to face the woman that she considered one of her best friends. "You make it seem like marrying me is going to be a chore Althea." She grinned at her friend. Of course Isobel wasn't offended by Thea's words. The women just got each other, and their friendship worked well. Thea's words were true though. Isobel knew that marrying Wes was going to make her happier than she was now, not that she thought she could actually be happier. But...it was going to be nice, and she was looking forward to it. Isobel looked at the three of her bridesmaids. "You all look good too you know..." She then smirked. Oh yes. She had taste. |

Sherman adjusted his tie as he wheeled further into the large hotel. As he passed by, he noticed there were quite a few MLE employees here. MLErs scared him; but then again, who didn't? Instead of trying to meet new people, the elderly man instinctively wheeled over to the corner where two new recruits from his Department, Alexandria and Demetrius, were chatting away. So. He just sat there and nodded at whatever they were talking about, hoping that people wouldn't notice that he had just joined the conversation. Nod. What now? |
The Dorchester Hotel, Jade did love the hotel. For years she would pass it on her way home and it was a constant in her life before moving. Hearing that she was invited to Isobel's wedding has surprised her a bit, but she was honoured all the same. Seeing that it was at the Dorchester, it was just knew that she would have to be there and of course, Jayden would have to come along as well. She did enjoy seeing him in formal attire and gave her warm fuzzies about other weddings in the future. Walking into the Dorchester Hotel, Jade smiled softly as she glanced around as she waited for her plus one. It was a beautiful place to have a ceremony indeed. Catching sight of a few people she recognized, she felt more at ease. At least, she would know a few people there and wouldn't have to just keep close to Jayden all evening. Spotting her own cousin on the bride's side, she glanced over her shoulder. Perhaps Jayden would be able to find her if she joined the others. Quote:

she smiled as she took a seat not too far from them, saving the one beside her as well. "Beautiful place, isn't it?" |
Heh. Mysteries people. Quote:
Feeling a bit better at seeing his old friends all married, Wes nodded gruffly to Van's whisper. He spotted Gabe looking a little... peaky over there and instantly felt reassured. Heh. Quote:

Jaxton wasn't one for weddings... in fact he'd never actually been present at a wedding where he hadn't been involved in the Wedding Party... which always meant standing in a tux, straight backed and smiling through-out the ceremony... instead of getting to sit down like everyone else. However - throughout all of that, he wouldn't have changed anything... Except for Damien's wedding. Humph. He wanted to be there for it. He glared slightly at his best friend across the room and then smirked slightly when he caught his eye. Then, silently, Gabe appeared next to him and he grinned at him - see. American's stuck together. Even in the UK. Yup. "You doing okay?" He asked Wesley finally, clapping him on the back. "Don't listen to Van about forever being too long or whatever - you and I both know that forever isn't going to be long enough for you and Iz." Sure - he wasn't a romantic, but the only people who could hear him right now were three of his best friends - so what did he have to loose except bragging rights? Nothing. his eyes flicked over the room as he tried to find Alicia and Kyle in the crowds - he knew they were there somewhere... he just needed to find them... |
Honestly, Rafael wasn't sure why he'd come to this wedding. Why he'd even been invited. He didn't need all his fingers on one hand to count the times he'd met either newly appointed department heads, and had they not been prominent members of MLE in the past, he wouldn't even know them pre-promotions. They had to have sent the invite out of respect.. politeness. Something. He was returning the gesture by showing. And with a plus one. "I don't recognize anyone." His dark brown eyes drifted around the room aimlessly as he spoke quietly to his... Nightingale. "Maybe it's a sign. That I should socialize more at work." Or maybe it was a sign that slipping out early would be easier than he thought. |
not my best post, but... *shrugs and pokes Dorian's weird mood* The irony of the situation hadn't slipped past Dorian. He'd been invited to more weddings after he'd gotten back to England, and after he'd started working at the Ministry, than had happened before. Than had happened when he'd still had his own fiancée to take care of. However, at least he felt like he had more reason to be here at this one, since he knew Wes a lot more than he had Warren, not to mention the fact he knew Wes due of much better circumstances. It wasn't just being part of MLE bringing him there, nor was it pity. At least, he didn't think it was pity that had gotten him the invite. Glancing at the other guests seated in the room waiting for the ceremony, it might have been the fact he worked for the Ministry that had gotten him the invite, but even that didn't bother him. He just had to stop letting the memories of Gwendolyn affect him. She was gone, Gabriel was in prison, and he needed to move on. He'd started, but this wasn't the fight against the cult. This was Wes and Isobel's wedding, and that was simply just that much different from work managing to distract him. He wasn't about to leave, though. He was here, and he'd stay, even if it was just in order to help them celebrate their happiness. |
Damien caught Van grinning like a jackal and couldn't help but grin right back. Heh. He had stood alongside him when he married Lovely Lily and of course Van and Lil had been the ONLY people in attendance when Gem and he had run off to tie the knot. It was nice to see him former co workers right now... he didn't see nearly enough of them since he and Gem had flown the proverbial coop and moved on to Cali. They needed sun and water, though. Heh. Oh and Gabe and Jax had appeared as well. Giving Gabe a two fingered salute thingy he furrowed his brow... was he thinking of his first wedding. BLAH. That woman... Gabe was better off without her for sure. And... why was Jax glaring at him so? Weirdo. The whole lot of them were strange. Draping an arm around Gem's shoulders he let his eyes fall on Wes and he grinned slightly at the man. Giving him a solemn nod he hoped to convey that things would be OKAY. Sure, he mightn't care much for Isobel, but he knew Wes was happy with her and well that was all that really mattered. They would be fine. He was sure of it. |
