Looking to his left as he glanced around the room Dustin noticed a girl crying. Walking over he stuffed his hands in his pockets and said awkwardly. "You ok?" he really was no good with crying girls.

Reese finally got the nerve to let go of Lucas.Why did it have to end?She wanted to pour her heart out to him,very badly.She looked at Alex.Uh-oh."It's you and me,"she muttered.She looked at him."She likes you."She looked down at the floor and singed.She knew perfectly well that Alex would get Lucas.She was soooo mcuh better than her in sooooo many ways.

Lucas just stood there staring at Alex, as he felt his heart begin to drop. "Oh.." and then suddenly Lucas said something he never thought he would say before. "And.. how do you feel.?"

"Feel about what?"Reese asked.She knew what he meant,but wanted to make sure.

Josh leaned against the counter as he moved to take a drink of his butter beer and then heard her talking. he put it down as he listened to her. he licked his lips as he thought about it. " I feel guilty because of the way it happened. I appoligized to your ex boyfriend for doing what i did. I shouldnt of done it that way. Not in the way i did." he looked down as he then added," I still love you..i still care for you. More than you will know.. i'll look after you whenever your around me. i know i hurt you.. thats why i feel guilty." he said to her. " I could of made you happy, but i finally realized how much you actually liked me. I knew i couldn't ever live up to loving you that much. I thought you deserved someone who could love you the way you loved me." he told her honestly.

When she started to ask him ... well how many people was he thinking he was going to try to save." As many people as i can. Thats what she would of wanted.. and im not going to stop until i can do the best i can. Thats the point.. doing the best. Im determined.. and you dont stop to rest. Dont have time." he told her. he then heard her comment about doing something he wanted." Im working on it..its not excatly the easiest thing. When i do.. i feel like im being selfish.. i dont like it." he told her. He sighed... see why would she want this anyway.

"I dont no Reese, Umm.. Do you still feel the same about me, the way you.. uh felt last year..?" He said, as he pointed his index finger at her heart.

Alex looked up when someone spoke to her. She looked into the familiar face, thinking of where she had seen him before. She looked over at Reese and Lucas and shrugged. "It...it really doesn't matter anymore. The past is the past and nothing can change that, just like you can't change someone's true feelings." She said softly before looking back at him. "Have we met before, you look familiar."

Reese looked at him with tears in her eyes."I love you."That was all she could say.She looked back down at the ground...why did this hurt so much?Was it because Alex liked him,too?

Dustin looked to where she had looked. Reese and Lucas. a thought hit him. "O so you like the same guy Reese likes huh? Dont worry there are better guys than that. Like my aunt always told me... if your crying over them it aint worth it." he explained looking at the heel of his foot. After his little speech he remembered she had asked a question..

"Um.. I dont know. Im Jeremy's friend so we might have met before." he said shrugging glancing at her tear streaked face.

Now Lucas didnt know what to think, his emotions couldn't decided weither to be happy because of what she said, sad, or confused. The stress of the whole situation was completely overwelming. Now that he found out that they both indeed liked him, or loved him. What ever it was, it seemed to make everything worse than before.

Because now he found out they both feel the same way about him, as he does towards them. Now did he have to choose? Risk ruining Alex's and Reese's friendship, all over him. Did he have to risk ruining the friendship of one of them, for a relationship with the other.

Lucas had so much thinking to do, and couldnt handle all the thoughts that were spinning completely out of control in his mind. He didnt say anything else to Reese, or even look at her for that matter. He just walked away, left and went through the door and out to the steps.

Where he found himself a spot and sat down, staring into the sky. Suddenly something else had just hit him. Both Alex and Reese told Lucas how they felt about him, but he hadnt told either of them.. How he actually felt. Lucas smacked his hand on his forehead and wispered to himself. "Good job Lucas, When things get hard.. Just runaway.." He said in a disgusted tone.

Jai put her bottle down and moved to hug him, she didn't know what to do when it came onto Josh, but she wanted and needed to hug him. They both seemed to need each other in some specific way. Or maybe she was being clingy, maybe he wanted to let her go and she wouldn't let him, maybe he just wanted to move on and she kept comming in his way. The thought of that made her stiffen, she wouldn't want that, she was selfish enough to make him stay with her. Even if he didn't love her.

Who knew anything about love? You fall in and fall out just as quickly, what was the point, Josh was the least selfish person she knew but he didn't know that. She should tell him she wanted to but words wouldn't come out, what do you say to someone wo is hurting so deep you can barely feel it. She loved him, she was sure but she couldn't find where he was hurting. She couldn't help him.

"Josh." she whipered "Who is she?" Jai asked hoping he would hug her back.

Reese likes him too. Why didn't she remember that? She looked back to the guy and nodded. "I know, it's just, I liked him since I first met him, before Reese and I met, before Reese and him met. I lost to someone as it was, and I can't stand losing him again. Then there's Derek, I feel aweful, he's my boyfriend, or was if he decided to end it. But I like L.J. more and Derek heard me say that to him." She told the guy, not knowing why she was telling him. She studied his face a little more when he told her he was Jeremy's friend, then it clicked. "You're Dustin, right?"

Reese sat there and watched Lucas leave.Great.See,she shouldn't have told him.She should have kept her feelings inside.A single tear rolled down her face.Just smooth,Reese.She walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table.She grabbed herself some cheesecake.Now,more tears were rolling down her face.Alex should just have Lucas.She didn't care.A boy wasn't worth risking their friendship.She jsut sat there staring at the cheesecake with tears rolling down her face.Love stinks.

Looking at Alex Dustin nodded. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Reese get up and leave. that was after Lj or Lucas or Whatever walked ouut. "Um... wanna know what I think?" he asked but didnt wait to hear her answer. "I think you should go talk to Reese." he said smiling at her.

Josh moved to put his arms around her and gave her a hug. He never worried about personal space with jai. i mean she sung to him and then ended up in his lap several times. he was always okay with jai.. he never knew what was okay for her. wash im hugging her.. was that to much for her. He didnt want to hurt her.. so he always let her do what she thought.

he heard her whisper as they were still hugging." yeah.." he whispered back to her. when she asked who it was.. well he had never really ever told the story to anyone.. not any of his girlfriends.. not to any of his friends." My mother... she wanted me to be someone who made a difference. When i watched..." he paused as he then pulled away to look at her." I watched her die.. and before she did..i promised her." he didnt finish the rest of the story.. no one needed to hear it." Im have to try.." he told her as he stared at her. he hoped she could understand it." even if i should do this or do that. Superman doesnt take the time to be selfish and im going to try to do the same."

Alex watched as Lucas walked outside, not even realizing Reese left the room as well until Dustin mentioned her. "I know it's what I should do, but Dustin, I...I don't think I can." She said sadly. She wanted to go see Lucas, then again a part of her wanted to go talk to Reese...and then there was Derek....

Dustin looked at her. "Come on now. Yall need to TALK. and NOT FIGHT" he said smirking. "Come on. Fighting over this dude aint going to solve nothing yall need to talk it ouit" he told her and before she could argue he walked away. He wanted them to talk and not Alex talk to him.

He walked around adn finally decided to get some fresh air. Heading outside he saw LJ or Lucas or whatever his names was sitting out there looking... glum. "Why you glum?" he asked straight foward not meaning to.

Derek sighed and looked around he really shouldn't leave with out talking to Alex. he sighed then looked around for her.

Alex looked at the floor as Dustin walked away. She let the tears continue to fall down her face, she wanted to stand and do something, but she couldn't, it was like she was glued to the chair. She looked at all the happy faces, wishing that she could be one of those happy people dancing. She noticed a familiar face close by to her, someone she needed to talk to, someone, whom she hurt earlier. She fianlly got up from her seat and walked over to Derek, tapping him on the back. "Derek, are you...are you okay?"

Jai let out a slow breath understanding, she kissed his cheek and gave him a meek smile "Josh, she wouldn't want you in anguish. You don't see your face like I do, I dont think anyone does." she played with his hair a bit "Your not being selfish Josh, your being human, and you'll have a time when you need to stop and see yourself." she lay her head on his shoulder "Is that why you wount let me get closer?" she whispered still moving her fingers through his hair.

Derek turned around when someone tapped his shoulder the pain frmher words earlier had turned to anger. and it showed,

" What do you think Alex?" he said bluntly.

"Hey Josh, you little piece of garbage. I would put you so far underground, you would see daylight for days " Jason screamed at him. "Go with Jai befire I hurt you since I do not have Quiddtch, but I still can use my fists as a beaters bat, not to tell you I still have my beaters bat, boy" Jason told him.
Let's get out of this party Jamie, there is too much trash around here. "Jason told Her.

Alex was slightly takenaback by the tone in Derek's voice. She looked at the floor, guilt filling inside her. "I'm sorry Derek, you...you weren't supposed to have heard that." She said softly.

Reese stood up and looked around.She was glad she was alone,she didn't want people seeing her cry.She walked the the entrance of the living room,but didn't go in.She saw jai talking to Josh.She gave him a smile and wiped away her tears.She saw Alex talking to Derek.wander what they are up to?She bet Alex was mad at her...for many reasons.

" Obviously .. what was you planning Alex. having a boyfriend here and string me along for fun. Should have been easy with me gone huh?" he continued unsure who's words hurt him more her's or his own.
