The man takes both pieces of Charlotte's wand and frowns at them, looking quite disappointed. He also takes the pocket knife from Jeffrey, frowning more still. "Neither of these are complete wands," he says. "Although the pocket knife is clever," he says, studying it. "And mostly intact. Not as I'd hoped, but perhaps it will function properly if..." Holding Jeffrey's pocket knife in one hand, the man taps the broken pieces of Charlotte's wand and then mend almost instantly. Still, he's frowning at them. "Mending wands is tricky," the man says. "It's likely to break after the first spell it performs. I'll have some preparing to do..." He thinks for a few minutes before he finally pulls out his notebook again and flips to the back page. "Now, I've had a lot more time to regain my memories than the lot of you have," he says, searching for something on a long list. "Plus I managed to find the Glass a couple of decades ago, which has been helpful. So I'll tell you what you must do when you get back to your plane." He stops at a name on his list and he shows it to all of you. "This man, Artemis Braker, can be found in Hogsmeade at the Hog's Head most evenings. He's the grandson of an old friend of mine. He can equip you with new wands and new identities and give you lives away from the Ministry. You're to hide. Lay low. D'you understand?" |
Laryn nodded, even me? she asked, she couldn't bear to think about all that work and degrees coming to nothing, but if it kept her alive... |

Jeffery nodded quickly, watching as his pocket knife mended Charlotte's broken wand. He was surprised for a second, but it was gone in a flash. He glanced over at Felix and Beryl. It was obvious what he wanted, and he'd let him have it. Felix got there first. He wouldn't interfere. |
He's giving him a knife? Sydney raised an eyebrow. No... they're both giving him... wands? "That's a smart thing to do." she muttered, not to anyone in particular. Yes, why didn't they all give the stranger all the things they had to protect themselves! Sydney couldn't understand why everyone was being so trusting of the guy when they didn't even know his name... The whole ordeal was extremely frustrating. She would much rather be in the man's shoes knowing what was going on than standing in her own, confused, scared, and dependent. She hated it. And she never was good at keeping her mouth shut. "I don't get it!" the girl finally cried out as he started telling them all these things that needed to do once they got back to their "plane". "What is our plane?" she asked, doing all she could to stop herself from shouting. She looked over at the girl who she thought was mean from earlier, nodding. "Yeah! Yeah, what she said! How is all this supposed to happen when we're... when we are... dead?" Sydney asked, both eyebrows raised. He was talking about the world with the ministry that had killed them. How were they supposed to get there if they had been thrown through to their deaths through the curtain thing? |
The wand... that stick... it was mended? How was that possible at all? It couldn't be! "How do we know that we can trust you?" Charlotte asked. This could all be a trick. He could've replaced the stupid twig somehow! This made no sense at all. And if they were dead they couldn't go back there alive!! But... "Who are you, really? We know our names and you seem to know us so well... how do you not know who you are?" Charlotte asked suspiciously. He could be an ex-convict or something. He could be one of those people who killed them and they'd never know. Charlotte tried to remember something, anything, about the veil thingy but like everything else, it blanked on her. |

Conversation continued to float about as the twins stood idly. June knew that Sydney was growing rather impatient, but so be it. She jumped, releasing her sister's hand as she cried out. She had a point, but June was already scared to death and didn't need her sister's barking to increase her discomfort. However, she nodded quickly and sharply in agreement. "Exactly," She mumbled, glancing at the girl who Sydney had agreed with before her gaze fell to her feet. |

Sylvestre looked at her, and sighed “Not mad just a little bit jealous,” he said as he ran a hand through his hair, he looked at Jeffery and then back and Logic and shrugged, “I have no idea if he likes you.” He looked at the man who was talking, he frowned, “So we can escape then?” he asked with a raised eyebrow, as he put his hands in his pocket, his mind was going crazy one thing after another. The man looked familiar but why he didn’t know. |

"But how can we go back if we don't remember who we are?" Seth asked him, eyeing the wands in his hands. Finding wands was a very good thing indeed, that would help them in what they're doing! He hesitated then, wondering whether he ought to find out his own death, he didn't want to at all but if it would help him regain his memory then he's up for it. Up for anything. |

OOC: Sorry, guys! *sniff* It's to hard for me to post on the weekends. Before the man is able to answer any questions, the Glass lights up on its own, without his prompting it. It shows Tristan and Lisette being marched up the side of the dais in the same way that it showed Charlotte before. Tristan looks utterly defeated--even exhausted--but Lisette is struggling valiantly with the Aurors holding her. "Fight! she shouts at Tristan. "Together, we can--" "Together?" Tristan finally roars, wrenching around to look at her. "Together, we will die. And you know whose fault that is, Lisette. If you ever even told me your real name, you thieving trash!" The scene bubbles and flickers away as the Aurors toss the two of them through the veil. After this finished, the man, looking completely unembarrassed, says, "Decades of being here, I've regained a lot of memories." He looks almost longingly at the wand before frowning slightly. "In any case, I can get you out. And I suppose I'll just drift here... or perhaps move on to whatever's next." He shudders slightly at this thought. "It may be fortunate that you don't know who you are," he says, though it's not clear whether he's just thinking out loud or talking to you. "It should help you embrace your new identities more easily." He looks at you all seriously now, and says, "Something must be done about the Ministry. Until you relearn your magic and learn to live like the witches and wizards you are, you can't go against them. You won't even have a hope." He pauses here and the silence of the room suddenly strikes you. "So grow up!" he booms. "Live your lives. Keep your noses clean. Come back together in ten years time. Gather allies against the corruption of the Ministry and fight! Fight them!" He smiles a little dreamily as though he's just remembered something and says, "Times like these bring out the best in some people and the worse in others." He snaps to and asks, "Am I clear?" |

She stayed silent as she took mental notes in her head. Must fit in. She nodded when the man told them to grow up.. But exactly how old were they? Lisette didn't know the exact age she was. She sighed and nodded at what the man said. New identies... Would be nice. |
Laryn nodded, yes, yes I guess...she trailed off, she couldn't remember any magic but, if she was alive... |

Beryl looked away as another scene flashed before them. When it was finished, she looked back at the man wearily. All she wanted was to get out of here. Get back to whatever life she'd been living - even if it meant doing it under a new identity. She didn't answer his question and instead looked away again. She was already grown. She could do whatever she wanted and all she wanted to do was get out of this place. If he didn't get that already, then he wasn't worth the trouble. |
