The man shakes his head sadly at Sylvestre and says, "No. You can't. And you wouldn't want to," he says firmly. "Your families have already mourned you, those of you who have them. Those of you who don't would only be going back to imprisonment and, if you're very lucky, back here." He looks at each of you. "You can leave soon. I can send you through using the Glass. It isn't complicated and it isn't time consuming. I can't go with you, though, because--" Interrupting him, the Glass lit up again and showed a young-but-bedraggled-looking man struck by a flash of light. You can tell that this is your mystery man, but a bit less mad. He falls through the curtain, though it's apparent that he's already dead as he does. "Yes, well..." the man says, looking slightly embarrassed. "It must be on my setting. I watch this scene a bit... er... frequen--" He's interrupted again as the scene continues. A young boy with messy, black hair and green eyes runs toward the veil, only to be caught by an older man. "SIRIUS!" the boy screams. The scene flickers and fades away. The man walks over to the Glass with wide eyes. He touches the surface of the globe gingerly. "Sirius?" he asks it. "You've never shown me 'Sirius' before." He clears his throat when he realizes all eyes are on him and turns around to the rest of you again. "So..." he says, eyes glistening slightly with hidden-away tears. "Are you all ready to go back?" OOC: Almost done, everyone! Almost done! We're going to end after you go back to the realm of the living. And have a sequel later. Good job, everyone! |
Charlotte watched as she saw that scene play. Sirius... The name rang a bell somewhere in a memory. Perhaps she had learned about him before in school, that meant that she was stuck with some creepy dead person who did something notable. She pinched herself, just to make sure this all hadn't been some stupid dream. "Better there than here," Charlotte muttered, still a bit uneasy about this whole thing. "Will you ever get to go back? Or will you just be stuck here?" Charlotte asked. If the guy was sending them all back then she felt a tiny bit sorry because he couldn't come with. Unless... he wanted to stay, which she doubted. |
The man shakes his head. "I died before I crossed the barrier into this--well, whatever this is. I can't go back. Or, perhaps I could but I just sort of feel like there would be serious consequences." |
SPOILER!!: August watched when the globe played another memories..He reckoned that it was the mystery man's memories..'Sirius??Where did I heard that name?' he thought.."Yeah..I guess so" he answered the mystery man question.."Is there any change that we'll remember our past when we get back?" he asked Quote:
|
The man shrugs. "I'm not sure that you will get those memories back." He looks sad again and adds, "I'm not sure you'd want to. Too many things to miss. It may be easiest not to remember." He smiles at the last and says, "Precisely, my boy. Currently, you are temporally banished, so to speak. Or, at least as far as I can tell, you are. You'd be surprised what interesting tidbits you overhear when you can look into matters at the Ministry of Magic through the Glass." He smiles. |

She felt sorry for the man. She didn't know what to say. I'm sorry or thank you. "I'm sorry.." she said softly hoping that the man could hear it. |

"I wish I could help," He said looking at the man, it seems that they were going away. Leaving back to the real world. But he'll stay here, forever more. Seth couldn't take the idea, it was too horrible to even think about. |
SPOILER!!: Quotes :) Sylvestre looked at the man with a frown, "I am sorry," he said, he looked around at the others, they were all "dead" because of the Ministry of Magic, they could never see their families again. He sighed and looked at them man, "Let's go then, the sooner we can destroy the Ministry the better." His eyes were set on the glass, he was heading back to his home, not a home he remembered but a home none the less. |
Laryn swallowed, she knew something about this man rang a bell, something from a lesson? ok so when can we leave now? she had a sick sort of anticipation in the pit of her stomach |
The man nods. "If you're all ready to go back?" he asks, looking around at everyone. |
Well..I am Laryn said, taking a step forward, she hoped she wasn't the only one on her own, but well, if she was.. |
Aiden took a breath in "I guess so" he said stepping forward, as much as the globe thingo weirded him out, he wanted to go back... kinda? yes. yes he wanted to go back. |
Tristan felt disgusted, confused, and extremely disappointed after seeing that scene that played in the glass. Lisette was clearly... not who he had started to think she was. The girl in that scene was absolutely nothing like the girl standing next to him, and he couldn't help feeling a little relieved when she released his hand. That look she'd had in her eyes when she stole the ring back in that scene that played in the television, now this... She was a thief, had betrayed him in some way, and it all led to this... to their deaths. Tristan said nothing, though. He still felt a little confused, but he wasn't sure he could continue seeing Lisette in the same light he'd been seeing her in these past few hours. As the dark-haired man asked if they were ready to return to the real world, the boy nodded his head, more eager than ever to return out there now, to start a new life and forget about whatever screwed up life he'd been leading before ending up in this place. |
Charlotte sighed. "And off we go?" she said. She wondered what would be waiting on the other side. Maybe they'd come back here one day? "Hey... Sirius, if that's your name, maybe one day we'll find a way to get you back to the other side," she said. It was a new page, a new life. And it was now or never... |
Seth looked around the room, seeing them all nod in agreement. But he wasn't ready, he wasn't ready to go out there without anything! With no memory with no sense of anything. This was bad, why did he end up here in the first place? Why had he broken the rules? Oh merlin, this was going out of hand. And the man was asking them if they were ready to go. He wanted to shout No with all his might, wanted to tell him that he didn't/couldn't face the outer world. But his voice failed him for the first time in his life. He looked defeatedly at the man, feeling very bad for him indeed. "I'm sorry," He mumbled. And then nodded, against his will. But there was nothing else for it. |

"That's the spirit." she said approvingly, glancing over at her sister. She was under the impression the girl was a bit of a pushover... A follower, if you will. Perhaps she was a little bolder than she originally thought, though. Who knew? She still felt like a stranger. Sydney hoped she would remember more about her past soon. As each tidbit was released, she only got more and more curious... She wanted, very badly, to see herself in the glass and to understand more about herself. Sydney was immensely curious about her life before hand- perhaps too curious. It fascinated her to think that she had a life before this disaster. Sydney wanted to go back, but she wanted to see her death first. She wanted to see who she was getting revenge on. "I would like to see my death." she stated plainly, keeping her tone nice and polite. If she was going to get what she wanted, Sydney figured pretending to be a nice, good girl would be the best way to do it. she could play innocent for a few minutes. "Please, sir." Errr. Well, she knew his name now, after that last scene... Poor guy. She was glad she wouldn't be trapped here for all of eternity. "Sirius is it? Please just let me see." She bit her lip, anxious but hopeful. "Before we go back." She did want to go back, of course. Sydney was the type to hold a grudge, if you know what I mean. |
Sylvestre looked at the man and nodded, he smiled a small smile, "I wan to go," he said, "The sooner the better." He sighed, he did want to go back but....it wouldn't be the same he couldn't remember anything but he could feel it, the place where he was going would feel familiar yet strange at the same time. |
June weakly smiled as her sister seemed to approve of her fighting spirit. Where had that burst of energy come from? Maybe the twins were more alike than June had originally thought, and that brought her a bit of glee in this mundane situation. June was the most timid, tentative girl you would find, but at least she had a blood relative with her to provide comfort, even if it felt as if they were strangers. Some people had no one but themselves, and others had boyfriends, girlfriends, and whatever else they were. "Please?" June gulped, shyly asking the man after June had made her plea. "I'd like to see as well." She had the strangest gut feeling, that possibly the twins had died the same death at the same time, but she chose to ignore it. Twins were obviously born together, but who had ever heard of twins dying together as well? |
Jeffery nodded slowly, taking in everything as quickly as he could. So... they were finally leaving. He couldn't wait to finally get out of here, to finally see the sky and be outside again. He though of Beryl and felt a lump in his throat. Would he ever see her again? "Will we still be able to communicate with each other after we leave?" He asked this in a plain tone, but was really asking if he could see Beryl, Sylvestre, and everyone else he's gotten close to during this time. |
Beryl firmed her lips and nodded once at the man's question. "Yes," she said finally, but that was all she said. She felt very bad for the man, but knew there was no help for him, at least not right then. She gulped as Jeffery asked his question and Sylvestre answered Sirius, but she couldn't bring herself to look at either of them. |

She took th ring from her finger and gave one sickening look at it. She turn to Tristan and felt like she was about to cry. "I believe this is yours. I'm sorry.." she said taking Tristan's hand and pressing the ring into it. "It was never mine." She took her hand away from his and walked to the others. She hoped that what she did now was right.. |

He was quiet, at a loss of words, and suddenly he couldn't help feeling a little bad, his heart sinking slowly. "Thank you," was all he was able to mutter quietly, watching as she walked away from his side. He'd miss her, he knew that much - the new version of her, anyway, not the thief they saw through their memories; and he hoped they could have a chance to start over once they were back in the real world, but... well, there was no real way to tell. For now, he just wanted to get out of this room, to start a new life and regain his magical skills. |
OOC: I've got posts from everyone who PM'd me, I believe. So I'm going to post Sydney's death and then give you the closing scene. Congratulations, everyone! You've reached the end of Misplaced Memories!! (I've cut this into sections to the post doesn't take up the whole screen. :) ) SPOILER!!: Sydney and June SPOILER!!: Through the Glass SPOILER!!: Artemis Braker OOC: Anyone who wishes to play in the sequel, may. Over the course of your "new" lives, you may begin to recover some of your memories. Everyone who wands to continue playing their characters and wants to know a bit more about their characters should PM me with between 1 and 5 questions. Totally random questions, if you want. Or they could be more meaningful. Or you can choose that you don't remember anything new. ALSO, very important. PM me with whether your character will decide to go off to their "new" lives together. Most of you will be separated, but you may be paired up with someone if you're stubborn enough. Thanks, everyone! This has been stellar! |
