CBBC Newsround's Lizo Mzimba has had a sneak preview of the upcoming 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' DVD and has posted his thoughts: Quote: Highlights include the inspired choice of writer/director Richard Curtis to interview Dan, Emma and Rupert; the Meet the Champions section with Clemence, Stan and Robert; and the section dealing with the film's climax - the return of He Who Must Not Be Named.
Quote: Lowlights include no JK Rowling - by her own admission, finishing writing this book was one of her most challenging experiences. It would have been wonderful to hear from her about this film version. And there's no director commentary from Mike Newell.

So I was right, it was Curtis. Good choice, if an obvious one given the fact he's friends with Newell. And thank goodness about the head, that was just irritating.
Meet the Champions sounds pretty cool too.

Well, J.K. Rowling didn't exactly shed her thoughts on the PS/SS DVD either, but either Newell or Heyman got a letter from her after the premiere that had a long list of what she liked about the film version of GOF and that the movies were getting better.
And what's with the lack of commentary on GOF? Is the WB deliberately holding all the commentaries for the HP films hostage until all seven movies are released on DVD, and re-release them as a new "Collector's Edition Box Set" with the commentaries and such die-hard collectors are wanting? The WB fully well knows that HP has a wide and diverse audience that's not entirely composed of children.
Oh well. I'm still getting the 2-disc edition. The deleted scenes and featurettes look enticing and besides, who wants to get the single-disc edition anyway?
