Sam, who was an extra in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, has written a short set report based on his experiences.
The entire report can be read here. Quote:
I’ve now completed 19 days of filming, including 3 days in the dragon arena! 14 days in the "Great Hall" and 2 days of nightshots in the Quidditch World Cup Campsite.
The "Great Hall" scenes were my favourite as many special effects took place and I was able to learn from some great actors including Alan Rickman and Sir Michael Gambon.
I play one of the Hogwarts students, so every morning I go through hair and make-up and costume to get into my Hogwarts robes.

Well, he did'nt give much detail into anything. But, I don't mean to burst anyones bubble but being an extra in not as 'fun' as many people think. It's a heck of a lot of work! If u have ever been at the dcotors office waiting forver or just been bored to death, most of this waiting to go on happens 55% sometimes.Most of the time you are in either bad conditions or uncomfortable and the hours are crazy and have to sit through gruelling re-takes. They expect a lot of maturity, patience and tolerance for that job, and many don't have that. and he ( sam-the gof set report) prob only saw rickman and gambon. extras are really limited to the exposure they get, and are rarely ever given the chance to even look at the stars let alone speak to them! some are given the chance to do so, and though it's limited they remember it forever. but what u leave with at the end of the day is the idea of being a 'presence' in the helping of such films, tv and commericals. As is said in the business or so kindly refered to as "background actors" hence background. or SOS' spot on screen' The funs in the making, I think it's in the wrap. ( end shoot)

Hehe, well that sounded a bit negative n conceited  sorry, well I just dont want any younger people to get the idea by joining a agency to become a extra they will work HP stuff, become famous and or meet stars..cause yeah  Lets keep it real. but i'm glad for him thats great!!! wonder if u got to take any photos of himself in costume?, prob not. but hope the best for his future plans
