Rumor: Hint of death identity in last Potter (SPOILER)

Does the identity of the bust signed by JK Rowling give us a clue to one of the deaths in book 7? As we reported earlier, she finished the seventh book while staying at the five-star Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh. Before checking out, she marked the occasion with a tantalising inscription scribbled on the back of a Roman-style bust.

Quote:

According to one report, the bust depicts Hadrian, the Roman emperor who built the eponymous wall to divide Roman Britain from the “barbarians” in the north.
The hotel says the identity of the bust incorrect, but if it is correct here are a few very interesting facts. The wall is known as Hardrain's wall. After falling into ill repair, it was later restored by Emperor Septimius Severus and passes near the Yorkshire village of Snape.

This is leading many to believe that Potion Master Severus Snape is one of the deaths in book 7. We will have to wait until July 21 to discover if this more than a rumor.

ooooh! interesting! i wouldn't be sad if snape died! serves him right for what he did in book 6!

first to post!! yay!

Wayfarer 02-04-2007 03:36 AM

I would take this with a grain salt but it could explain why Rowling would sign a bust in a hotel.

Les Mots 02-04-2007 03:38 AM

Wow! If JK meant for it to be that way than she is one clever person!

Lil Freakyuu 02-04-2007 03:39 AM

It would be great. Rowling won't sign a bust in a hotel for nothing. I hope it's correct anyway! XD

argentinaz_angel 02-04-2007 03:40 AM

ok, that was so expected :P is anyone surprised Snape is supposed to die? [:/]

Fallon Chanel 02-04-2007 03:41 AM

omg! i knept tellin every1 Snape was gonna die... :shifty: i hope he does die!!! :evillaugh

Wayfarer 02-04-2007 03:42 AM

Earlier reports say the bust is of the Greek God Hermes, which is the name of Percy's owl....so could that mean Percy dies?

Mistress Vondella 02-04-2007 03:46 AM

Hermes is also one of the 3 that could go into and out of the underworld, so not only was he a messenger, but he was also responisble for taking souls into Hades. So......maybe Harry dies and the rest of us follow him in and then out again. We follow/guide him in, and then are able to return and tell others.

*really wants Harry to Die*

ahshlyn 02-04-2007 03:46 AM

I think my heart skipped a beat when I this on the sidebar.. If Snape doies die, I think I'll be happy :D Good Point.. But if the bust is Hermes, wouldn't it mean the owl dies?

Loki 02-04-2007 04:07 AM

I doubt that but then again will see. :P

Piratess 02-04-2007 04:10 AM

~*MischaBloom*~ 02-04-2007 04:23 AM

That's intriguing, tho I always thought that Snape had to die...

luv16 02-04-2007 04:51 AM

JKR is just brilliant ;)

shezygurl 02-04-2007 04:57 AM

wow that is kool... wow who would have worked that out.. way too much time on there hands!! haha

but i love it! ahh excitment!

potterbaby 02-04-2007 05:15 AM

Yes! Kill Snape! Leave Harry alone! He's had a crapy life so far with the Dursleys, and his god-father dying, and then his mentor dying, and then to find out his destiny. Why does he have to die young too? That's just not cool! Death to Snape is what I'm rooting for!

Black Rose Tragedy 02-04-2007 05:17 AM

and if it is the coward deserves worse me hopes it a painful death :evillaugh

Freya 02-04-2007 05:22 AM

I believe Snape will die saving Harry and Harry will know that Snape was alwas on Dumbledore's side. Snape owes Harry the life debt he owed James.

TeeNa 02-04-2007 05:58 AM

Well, at least there is a reason for killing Snape if it is true :) he wants to be a nice man, but double-spying won't lead you to anything good

Seriously, I think Snape has already done a lot for this story to happen, the prophecy and all along with that, maybe he'll have to sacrifice something to help Harry, maybe he'll be dying when Harry learns the truth about him, maybe he will even tell he loved Lily, so this death will be significant.

P.S.: if that's a rumor, I don't care  I'm one believing theorist

shortfry 02-04-2007 06:02 AM

It would not surprise me if Snape dies, but I still think there's a lot more to Snape then we all think and we're going to be surprised.

sirius4ever 02-04-2007 06:10 AM

I think we are all a little too excited about reading the 7th book. LOL I love how excited everyone gets about guessing the storyline. I am glad I am not the only one who takes the Potter books so seriously. All of my friends always make fun of me for being so obsessed, I feel better thanks to you guys. :hpbroom:
