Wow, if it is and she planed that, she must really think in odd [different] ways. And I think that I think outside the box.

On a side note: :woot: Yeah, the info came from India! :woot: [Sorry, that's just me, anything having to do with Indian and I get excited, by looking at the avvie, you can clearly tell why.]

Harry Riddle 02-04-2007 07:01 AM

hmm..interesting..but why think so much..couldn't she just have written the inscription thing for her memories like where she finished he last book and stuff like that.

Blackened 02-04-2007 07:04 AM

I'm not sure there is a connection. Then again, I thought Snape was going to die in book 7, anyway...

BrightestWitch 02-04-2007 08:42 AM

Very interesting. I wonder if those were her intentions, or maybe she did it just so we could all start over analyzing the simplest things. She is silly like that. Either way I've always believed that Snape would die, so I'm not surprised. :xd: Cool info! ;)

chowderHPfanatic 02-04-2007 08:57 AM

wow. that's a good guess. haha. let's save it for the 21st!

it was later restored by Emperor Septimius Severus
Am I the only one who thinks 'restored' is a keyword and would therefore not hint at his death but at his importance in the story?

Nevermind, I think we should take a deep breath and treat it as a theory...but an interesting one, I must say...

Ghidighici 02-04-2007 09:56 AM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Snape CAN'T die !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's too.....important !!! Nooo ! Snape, please don't die !!!:((

FearlessLeader19 02-04-2007 09:59 AM

I always thought snape would die. JK is really Clever

Durro 02-04-2007 10:14 AM

I don't get that's there's a death from this quote.

The whole thing about Severus the Roman and the village of Snape all points to being about restoration. It screams to be about the restoration of Snape's reputation and position in wizarding society when it is ultimately revealed that he was a good guy working for the Order and that his actions with Dumbledore were part of a secret pact made between the two.

JKR is very clever and her choice of Snape's name obviously stemmed from these historic and geographic facts and was part of her plan all along - to see Snape crumble but to eventually be restored towards his former glory.

Too far into it. Especially since the hotel is saying it isnt. I think they would know best.

skates 02-04-2007 12:34 PM

I read about this yesterday and I was very intrigued but also skeptical....would she really do that? It's a very cool idea but i'm not sure but I definetely wouldn't put it past her. Stuff like this just makes me want the book even more!!!!!!!!!!!!*obsessed and loving it*

Mrs Felton 02-04-2007 12:42 PM

Interesting, I hope it's not true, though. I love Snape.

TeeNa 02-04-2007 01:34 PM

btw, did you know his full name was Lucius Septimius Severus? seriously

Sister Of The Moon 02-04-2007 02:00 PM

If Snape dies I will cry. That'll be just mean. He's too much of a complex, gripping character to kill off.

Restored was my word. Hadrian Wall wasn't a complete rebuid so when the paper used it I chose to change it. I couldn't quote the entire article. The article used rebuilt.

You make an interesting point about Snape being restored. Restore to good name perhaps? I have always had a struggle with Snape's character. I love to hate him but then I ponder if there is more than meets the eye. I even thought at one time he might be James in disguise. Dumbledore was human but his skill at mind reading were outstanding so I doubt that Snape could guard his intentions for 16 years from him. Snape owes Harry for James saving him and for telling Voldermort about what he had heard at the Hog's Head.
