I agree entirely. It has been a month and you never know...
I remember hearing about how a little boy was abducted at a baseball game in Victoria (B.C) in... 1989 (around then I'm sure). They searched for years and still haven't found his body.
I'm beginning to hope this doesn't turn into that kind of situation.

But out of all the hundreds of missing kids, this one girl is picked to be specially found. Out of them all, it's just her. I don't see that as fair to the other kids and families with the same problem. I feel the same, why just her? Why does she seem to deserve it more than any other missing child?

But hopefully they do find her and get this over with.

I mean no offense... but why Maddie? There are so many children right now. I see pictures of them every day. Children are taken every day. I'd think a lot more of this if she was contributing to one of the funds to find missing children, and not putting all this effort into just this one. I mean, I know I would appreciate it if all this attention were focused on my child should they ever go missing, but I know the best that I'll ever get is an Amber alert and a place in the Penny Saver.

I really hope she will be found but it's been a month...but you must always have hope, and JK Rowling is being very generous about her involvement with Maddie's case, but there are loads of children missing who deserve as much attention as Maddie, so let's not forget them, and pray for all of them to be home safely.

It is this one child because this one child's parents are intelligent enough to manipulate the press. Sadly they were not intelligent enough to look after their own children.

The world is not a fair place and quite honestly I would be more horrified if it was than if one child gets precedence over others - to be that fair, it would have to be controlled comprehensively and the only way that such a state of affairs can ever come about is by removing ALL liberty from our social and political systems. We are on our way, so maybe with Tony Blair's 25000 new laws (over 10 years), you will get your fair and equal society and all children will be treated equally. Me? I am quite happy with survival of the fittest, 90% of missing children come from inadequate backgrounds, 90% of those have parents who are sheep and bleat along with whatever tune they are told. This is why the situation is unbalanced. All that matters really is that this is a child, who is not to blame for her parents' lamentable lack of due care, nor is she to blame for the media furore which her parents have engineered. She is or was in terrible danger and everyone is touched by her plight and frustrated by their own impotence to help.

This is the section where I guess I am meant to bleat contentedly and miss out words, but to paraphrase our favourite author - fear of a word only increases the fear of the thing itself...

Yes, she probably is "dead" (using the word doesn't call it down!) but if there is a chance that she is not then what parent would give up? None. Which is why it will continue for as long as it is fed power and the public respond. It will stop when no-one feels the desire to respond to threads about it.

Considering what has probably happened to her whilst in captivity (that I will not bluntly blurt because I am not familiar with the age range here), it will be a horrific show either way. The happy ending was out of range an hour after she had been taken and if she is still alive then she will have problems for the rest of her life and her entire family is permanently damaged in any circumstance.

Let's hope that all those who are self-obssessed and put themselves before their children take note of this avoidable tragedy.

Realism aside, I had better reiterate my hope that the child is okay, so that it does not go missing within my other words. Not least because it has disturbed my daughter, who is also a little blonde Madeleine.

I agree to much publicity for onee child who would nto have gone missing if her parents had not left her and her siblings alone to go out for dinner. they were abandond and if they were in UK make mo mistake about it the parents would be charged with neglect!

As i sad above i dont want JKR to help she already have a huge donation, i think it is time we helped all the other familys who need help who dont have millions of pounds at there disposal to look for there children both un UK and portugal!

That was such a horrible thing to happen. The hole country has been mobilized to try and find poor Madeleine McCann, I hope they will find her asap, it has been more than a month since she disapeared..

It's a noble atitude from JK to support those parents.
