Wizard News has posted about an opportunity for those in Tennessee. Quote:
"Kids here in Middle Tennessee can get in on the magic with hands-on science workshops courtesy of Mad Science, the only official provider of licensed Harry Potter science workshops and products. Workshops meet weekly for six weeks at various locations around town to create a golden snitch, capture lightning, examine a day in the life of an owl, build a teleidoscope (a combination periscope and kaleidoscope) and more. Scout groups and other clubs can sign up to host a program, and a summer camp is also planned. For more information, call (615) 650-0078 or visit Mad Science." Article:

I wonder if JK realized how much her series was going to benefit the educational world when she published the first couple of books. She's a really humble person, so probably not, but I'm sure she's happy to know that things like this are going on for students today because of the popularity of the HP series!

Ooh...they're lucky! That sounds like so much fun! I love science and I LOVE HP, so I wish they would do something like that here in Florida...(but no, they won't, 'cause it doesn't have to do with the FCAT! *pouts*)

I hated reading all together before I picked up the frist Harry Potter book. Now I love reading. (Just as long as I get to pick the book.) I can't put them down. It's kind of funny if you think about it. First my dad is mad at me for not reading and now he thinks I read to much. I just can't win. Go figure. :sorcerer:
